Another person had asked this question and you should see if you can select
to Always Allow the function you've had to add a password in order to perform
as a default action, so you won't have to enter it each time... See this discussion:

Hopefully this helps. You may also wish to use disk utility and choose First Aid
and run 'repair disk permissions' to see if that helps, if the above does not. And
there may also be a need for additional user maintenance should it not work.
{The easiest would be to see if a SafeBoot on startup helps, as it can check
and attempt to repair some system files; then restart normally. It won't hurt.}

You can change the Apple ID used for purchasing on her phone by going to Settings>Store>Apple ID, tap the ID shown, sign out, sign back in using her Apple ID. However, be aware that if she has any apps on her phone purchased with your Apple ID she will still be prompted to enter the password associated with this ID for all future updates of these apps. This is because apps are permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them, regardless of the ID in Settings>Store. -
My Time Capsule had a guest network that does not have a "lock" sign by it. So I am thinking that other people can use my wireless internet. My other network does have a "lock" by it. How do I delete or lock the guest network? I obvioulsy am not a computer savy individual so please use laymans terms if you can help me. Please and thank you.
In any event, if your OS X version is 10.7.x, download and install AirPort Utility 5.6 for Lion:

If your OS X version is 10.5.x or 10.6.x, download and install AirPort Utility 5.5.3:
Leopard, Snow Leopard: AirPort Utility 5.5.3.
After you install the appropriate version of AirPort Utility, open it. The program will be located in your Utilities folder, which in turn is found in your Applications folder.
To open the Utilities folder, go to the Finder and select "Utilities" from the Go menu:

... but make sure you use the version of AirPort Utility you just downloaded.
Launch AirPort Utility and select your Time Capsule. Click Manual Setup, then the Guest Menu tab, then you can elect to disable the guest network, or to establish whatever security settings you want.

If your version of AirPort Utility does not look anything like that, you are probably not using the one you just downloaded. Find it and start over.
When you are finished configuring your Time Capsule, click Update and allow the Time Capsule to restart. -
My macbook wi-fi has stopped working altogether. What can I do to remedy this?
My Macbook wi-fi has stopped working completly. It was not a matter of the wi-fi being off and on but rather when it failed, it failed and never worked again.
Has anyone experienced this happening and what are the remeddies to the problem?You should check if this is a hardware problem. In OS 10.9.2 you can do this:
Apple menu / About This Mac / More Info / Overview / System Report.
(note the details of this path are different in other versions of Mac OS X.)
Under Network in the left column, select Wi-fi. If your hardware has failed, the right side will say something to the effect of no device detected.
If the hardware has failed you will have to open the Macbook and replace the card - assuming your MB model allows that. If the hardware is detected, there are steps you can try, but they depend on details about your computer that you have not provided.
If you follow up with another post, please tell us what version of Mac OS X you are running, and the Model Identifier of the Macbook. -
After updating my iphone 4 with the ios 6 update. My iphone would no longer connect to my home wifi that is password protected. I know that I have the right password entered in. At work we have a free wifi connection that does not require a password and I can connect no problem to it. My ipod touch has no problem connecting to my home wifi. It is a 3rd gen ipod and does not have the ios 6 update on it. Please help!
I'm having the same issues. Started when I upgraded iphone 4S and ipad1 to 5.1.1. Wife's iphone 4g on 4.4.2 has been ok. I've forgot the network on both devices and restored the iphone, none of which changed the issue. I've upgraded to ios 6 on the iphone 4s, problem still persists.
One thing that will help for a time: go to your router and change the wireless control channel. When I first did this I got full connectivity for about 48 hours... and now the problem is back. I'm now changing the wireless control channel every 12 hours, which is a pain but at least keeps me connected. I've tried a few other solutions that are out there and that has been the best one so far.
to do this on a motorola router: type 192.168.0.1 in your address bar.
username: admin and password:motorola if you have not changed the factory defaults.
Click on the word "wireless" and look for the "control channel" field. This may be set to auto or to 1, try changing it to 6 or 11 (preferred) or any other channel.
The control channel can cause static in the wireless system IF there are several networks nearby that are on the default setup.
There is a fair bit of buzz about this issue out there, some other things I've seen:
This is a hardware issue. Go to the store and have your wifi antenna checked, some users reporting that they get free replacement devices.
Check against other wifi networks that require a password (this is next for me). Logon to those networks and surf until your wifi stops. If your wifi connects to the internet but stops responding, then this is a software (or hardware) issue and apple needs to step up. Some are claiming this to be the case.
IF you connect and stay connected/on the internet on another password protected wifi, then the issue is with your router. this is where things get cute.
Comcast may tell you to update your firmware. Motorola may tell you that your cable provider is the only one who can push through firmware updates. Comcast may tell you that you are not in an area that is being updated. It's unclear if they say that to all customers, or just those who have purchased cable modems and aren't renting them from comcast.

Can't receive emails sent from Windows Mobile
After much troubleshooting, I've found that I can't receive emails sent from Windows Mobile users. I never noticed the issue until recently, but I can't pinpoint when the problem began: Leopard 10.5.2, Mail 3.2... not sure.
When a Windows Mobile user sends me an email, it just doesn't show up in my inbox. It does show up in a web client, my iPhone, and in Thunderbird, so I know the mail is being delivered to my mailbox on the server. However, there is no corresponding message located in ~/Library/Mail, so it looks like the message isn't being downloaded from the server. I have emails before and after the stubborn email message, so it hasn't interfered with anything else that I can tell.
Anyone else been able to pinpoint this issue and figure out a fix or workaround? Anyone have any ideas?I am experiencing precisely the same issues. Messages from Windows Mobiles v.6 (more than just a single handset) are not being displayed in Mac Mail 3.2
I have tried rebuilding mailboxes and changing the IMAP port connecting with Exchange server. The mail is there as I can see it in Outlook, OWA, and OMA
Similar situation to you in that I have no idea when this started to happen, but it can only be in the last 3-4 weeks max.
Please, if anybody has a fix or workaround, or knows what changes have been made to Mac Mail in the last few weeks.

hi over the past month have received maybe 5 scam emails from apple.
I opened one the other day cause I thought well maybe it is from apple.
went through the steps and it was amazed at how well they did at copying apple website. you could even go to the apple shop page from their page!
what set me off that it was fake was that I tried to open the other apple pages along the top and it wouldn't let me. so I opened my own apple page and logged in. and realised that they don't ask for your bank details in your Apple ID account.
anyways so now what has happened is I got an email today " from myself" with this same scam email. it is as if they have hacked my email account and sending me these emails. I want to report this to apple but am unable to find any contact details apart from call back options. does any one have any advice on this.I've had that same exact issue, I received the first e-mail claiming to be from Apple last night (though over the past week I've received two other scam e-mails from different addresses claiming that my bank transactions have been aborted). It said it was from my own address, and I checked it closely to make sure it wasn't a spoof account but found it was indeed my own e-mail address. Five minutes ago I changed my password, and I have just now received a second e-mail exactly the same, still coming from my own account. My best guess at an explanation is that it may have been sent before I changed my password and there was just a delay in the message sending, resulting in it coming through after changing my password.
I've now forwarded the e-mail on as an attachment to the [email protected] address, however this still doesn't help me with regards to stopping these e-mails. It concerns me that even though I changed my password they still possibly have access to my account. I tried checking my account activity but as opening the mail app on my iPhone is considered as a log in and I check it almost twice an hour, it's impossible to tell which could possible be an intruder logging in. -

Emails sent to me are sometime returned to the sender with the message "Inbox full" even though I have maybe less than 100 emails in the Inbox and I regularly compact them. Firefox is a web browser. It provides access to online content. Things like your email are handled by the content provider. Who is your email provider? You'll have better luck consulting their documentation.
That being said, deleting only email is a great way to free up space. Another option would be to purchase a "Premium" account if your email provider offers this service. Many times more storage space is offered as part of paid subscription.

I was having difficulty accessing usual sites like LinkedIn.com, FaceBook.com, OKCupid.com that require a password. At one attempt to log on it was suggested that I clear all cashe, history, and cookies and try again. That made matters worse. I decided to DELETE Fire Fox 3.6.15 version and when I went to Mozilla dot com I saw this 4.0 version. I installed it and I am still having the same problems. My usual sites do not recognize my passwords. I can access these sites on other computers, just not mine. Yes, I tried using other browsers to no avail. I need HELP fast!

If the iTunes Store has replied to your request and told you that they cannot refund your money, then yes, I'm afraid you're out of luck as regards this purchase. To prevent this from happening again, turn off "In App purchases" in the Restrictions settings on your iPhone. You may also want to turn off the ability to install apps, to prevent purchases in case the child gets hold of your iTunes Store account information, and set the password to be required immediately. I have an irritating problem with mail autofilling info in email addresses. Emails sent to me the from looks like this: Holiday in the United States <my email address>. I have no idea what this Holiday in the United States is or how it got to be there...How can I fix/change to my name?
I fixed the To: autofilling incorrectly by deleting my email address from the Previous Recipients List, but is there a way to stop that from coming up on emails that I receive?Have you checked your Mac address book? If your email is saved somewhere in your address book with the name "Holidays in the United States" it might be adding the name automatically in Mac Mail.
