Email server offline when online

Hi
Can anyone help me with an email send issue? My email will not send because the smtp server keeps saying it's OFFLINE, but everything I check says that it is ONLINE.
I was using email from this same server through the same connection earlier today, and suddenly... I am getting the "Cannot send message using smtp.mac server." When I look at the servers to choose from they are ALL listing as OFFLINE. But when I check anything and everything else, I am told everything is online.
I can access the internet, I can RECEIVE email, I just can't send!
HELP!!!
(I am on OS 10.5.8, by the way and am a shifting MobileMe-to-iCloud user... though that may change soon...)

Very hard to say actually because it depends on the Retry situation on your email client/agent. I would resend the email.

Roadrunner is POP email, and the feature you are looking for
is a function of IMAP email. Roadrunner has not announced
any plans to make IMAP available. If this is important to you,
get a gmail account (which can be setup as IMAP) and configure

Email server offline

This problem began before upgrading to Mavericks but remains unchanged. My email server constantly responds "Mail was unable to connect to server “mail.speakeasy.net” using SSL on port 955. Verify that this server supports SSL and that your account settings are correct." My settings have been the same for several years and tech support on the server end confirms that they are correct, and on their web site, all email comes and goes as it should. I have an AOL account that works, a Road Runner account that works, and a Gmail account that sometimes goes offline but which can be coaxed back into service. But my two speakeasy accounts refuse to connect.
Any suggestions where I should look next?

Are you overseas this week? Several non-US IP addresses are trying to send as your account. It's possible your account was compromised. Try calling the Customer Security Assurance Department at (888) 565-4329 for help with resetting your password, if this doesn't work for you:

Upgraded to Yosemite outgoing email server offline BT

Since upgrading to Yosemite this weekend Mac Mail outgoing server is showing as offline. Using BT email account. Able to receive e-mails but cannot send. Have checked all settings and tried removing/ adding both e-mail accounts several times. Still same problem.
My daughter still able to send BT e-mails from BT accounts on her PC, my husband still able to send email via BT account using iPhone 4s which has not had recent upgrade. Also able to send email if I log directly into BT mail and use their system which could indicate Apple Mail/ Yosemite problem with BT account?
Any help, advice or comments would be much appreciated.

I upgraded to Yosemite over a week ago and all was fine until yesterday when I started getting identical symptoms to those outlined by others.
Would it be possible for you (or someone else) to explain in more detail exactly how you deleted all your SMTP servers.
I have several listed . . . some are bt and some yahoo.

Contact showing offline when online

Hello, I using (newest) Skype on my computer, and one time i used it too on Windows Phone... First time when i get trouble to other see im online but no i will logout all devices online.. Sooo/showplacesand/remotelogout .So, its helped, but anyway, yesterday i taked a sleep my computer... After a 20 minutes ago has powersupply stopped work so Network card etc has stops working... Running I tunes offline when online

I dislike the fact that Itunes doesn't give me the option of turning off its Internet access. When my systems on, it immediatly becomes a part of my sattelite server's lan. The only way at the moment that I can use Itunes offline is to turn my Sattelite's modem off, which I don't really want to do.
If somebody can please tell me how I can stop Itunes from continually wanting access to the internet, then please can they tell me.

Click on START , RUN and enter REGEDIT
That will open the registry Editor.. BE CAREFUL.. if you don't know what you're doing, you can seriously mess up your computer.
go to the top directory and search (CTRL-F) for anything APPLE or iTunes. Then just delete every string that it finds. Keep searching until it can not find anything else. that should completely remove any traces of iTunes from your computer.

How can I convince T'bird to delete email when online in an IMAP account?

When online, deleting email Thunderbird does not automaticly move the message to the Trash folder as selected in "Account Settings:Server Settings:Server Settings:When I delete a message: Move it to this folder: 'Trash'." However, this does work automaticly when Thunderbird is offline.
I'm fairly sure the constant failure, with a notice, of the program to place a sent email into the 'Sent' folder is related. When I mark a messate as junk it is marked junk but not moved to the 'Junk' folder as set in the account settings....
The accounts do have a Trash, Junk and Sent folder on account provider's server.

Jim, I said right click the account in the folder (that is the list on the far left of your screen) when you select subscribe you get a dialog that looks like the attached image. That is "what the server has" So you checking the other dialog for mismatches. You will also need to look in Server settings for your deleted folder setting. For some reason it is not with the others.
If you click on the advanced button in Synchronization and storage, you will get the same "subscribe" dialog if the other instructions just don't cut it.

Mail handling while email server is offline

When the server is offline and there's email sent to an account on the server, it waits until the server is back online and then the email gets through. Which is pretty awesome. But how long can the server be offline before the email gets bounced back to the sender? (I assume it won't wait around forever, if there's a long outage.) Is the amount of time some kind of internet standard, or does it vary; if the latter, where does it come from?

Clq status shows quorum server offline eventhough it is online

I am facing a problem in my cluster that when I bring all the three nodes in a cluster (2 app-nodes and one quorum server) at almost the same time, the clq status on any of the cluster nodes is showing quorum server as offline. when I do the clqs show on the quorum server, i ge the below output.

By just adding one another QS both the QS status came online !!!!!!!!!!!!
no IDEA, what is happening...
anyways I have deleted the second QS by #clq remove rac2 and #clq reset
now it is fine..

HP AIO Remote shows wireless printer offline when it is online and can print to it.

HP AIO Remote installed on my Windows 8.1 Yoga 2 shows my wireless printer is offline, when it is online and I can print to it wirelessly. How can I get it to recognize my wireless printer is online wirelessly? AIO Remote will only recognize the printer is online when the USB in connected to the Yoga 2.

Thank you for the additional information. I apologize for misunderstanding. I just want to confirm that the HP AiO app that you downloaded onto your Windows 8.1 computer is showing your printer as offline when you are able to print wirelessly to the printer.
I have two different documents for you. The first one is How to Use the HP AiO Remote App for Windows 8. It has a FAQ section at the bottom of the document with trouble shooting steps. I have also included the Supported Printers for the HP Scan and Capture App.
If the above documents don’t assist you, would you please let me know which make/model/product number of HP printer that you have? How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?

The usual fix: Delete the account from your Preferences and Re-Enter it.
