Email setup and Network Solutions

My client's site is hosted on Network Solutions. I entered the information for email into the ADDT control panel (server name, port, username[email], password) but any page that calls the send email trigger fails to connect to the mail sever. Has anyone run into this problem either on Network Solutions?
I've done this many times successfully on other hosting companies.
Thanks in advance for any help.

kkhalifeh, when you enter the email setup, choose the advanced options and attempt the mail setup.

  • Server Mail will not delete - tx.rr and Network solutions

I have an iphone 4s.  My first iphone.  I have two email accounts set up.  Both of them are setup to delete from server when delete from inbox.
    They are not working.
I have called apple and the pop 3 providers and neither can help.
I have tx.rr.com - road runner and Network Solutions (company I have a domain name with).
BOTH of these have worked corectly with my last two phones, Blackberry and Samsung Epic.  But neither are working with the iphone.
Is anyone else having this issue or suggestions on what to try.
Of course I want to get apple and road runner on the same call so I don't keep getting sent back an forth to each one.
I REALLY want to be able to delete from the phone as I get so many emails due to my personal business...I want to be able to delete all day long and not have to go home and read/delete again.

Yes, it was definitely within Cyrus. The Apple interfaces are pretty and all but they didn't even get close to helping me solve this easily.
Essentially, what I did was download all the emails from the server (to make sure I didn't miss anything), rename my email folder to something different to preserve the emails in case I really did miss something, then do a recover on the mailbox.
Being a UNIX-head, here's what I did on the server:
    cd /var/spool/imap/user
    mv scott scott.dead
    sudo /usr/bin/cyrus/bin/reconstruct -r user/scott
Sudo, of course, prompted me for the superuser password but everything was fixed right away after that. It is recommended to shut down the mail service from inside the Server Admin program first.

  • TV setup and networking for a samsung 46" led 6500 series

We are putting up the mount for this TV on the wall - are we supposed to have it put in the mount before they come for sku 9797954 TV setup and Networking?
    Thank you.  Susan

True they may pull the TV back down for ease of connections. I would say as long as you have the mount on the wall and the bracket on the back of the TV you will be just fine. They should do the rest for you

  • Getting email directly from Comcast and Network Solutions

I just ordered my iPhone 3G today. I do not need to sync my email to my computer. I just need to be able to download email from my comcast accounts and my business accounts at Network Solutions. I assume I can setup POP3 downloads of emails from these sites, leave the original emails on the servers at those sites for later download to my PC, and still get the emails to my iPhone and answer them from my iPhone.
    Is that a correct assumption?
    Thanks,
    Terry

    Yes, that is entirely correct.

  • Outgoing email rejected by Network Solutions server

Recently my outgoing emails are being rejected by the server.  My server is Network Solutions.  How do I fix this.

    Tap Settings
    Tap Mail,Contacts,Calendars
Tap the name of the account
    Scroll down and tap SMTP
Is the primary server the Network Solutions outgoing server name (you can check the instructions for mobile devices on their web site)
Tap on the name of the SMTP server
Verify that the Host Name is correct
The User Name is your email address
The Password is your email password
SSL should probably be ON, but try both ways
Authentication should probably be Password, but check their web site
Server Port will be 465 if SSL is on, but check their web site
    Tap Done

  • Email setup and Facebook Application.

    Hello,
How do I setup email on my blackberry? I've read a few help pages and it seems you have to have an email setup button and I don't have that.
Also I downloaded the facebook application and whenever I try to get on it, an error message appears. Help!
    Laura.

Facebook... so what's that error message that appears?
Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?
You must, in order to get the RIM push email functions you are looking for, as well as addtional BlackBerry data services such as the internet browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger, and much more.
So, call your carrier and inquire about having the BlackBerry Data Plan added to your account.
    Good luck.

  • Personal Domain and Network Solutions

Does anyone out there have a .Mac Personal Domain site working where Network Solutions is the Registrar? If so, how did you handle the CNAME aliasing?

For anyone else having this problem it appears that you must:
    1. In the Network Solutions Advanced DNS Manager, first eliminate the numerical IP address for 'Host' entry 'www'. When you first look at this entry it will have a note something to the effect that "Currently points to the "Under Construction" page.
    2. Replace the Alias 'CNAME' with the entry 'www' then enter your Domain Name (i.e. mypersonaldomain.com) in the 'Other Host' box.
I may be wrong on this but you may need to allow a period of several hours between this two steps.

  • New user - questions about email setup and synchronization

    Hi,
I'm a not-particularly-techno-savvy new owner of a BlackBerry Curve 8900. My questions are:
1      I seem to only have the option to use a work email account with a BB Enterprise server and not the option to create or add an email addy. How do I resolve this?
2      I've installed the BlackBerry Desktop Manager but when I try to synchronize data from my device - organiser stuff and contacts - I get a message saying there are no applications configured, with subsequent instructions as to how to do this but I then have to choose from a huge list of folders and other stuff and have no idea what to do!
I'm really hoping someone will be kind enough to try and help as I'm floundering dreadfully.
    Thanks in advance.
    Jan

    Jan,
When you install Desktop Manager it gives you the option to setup with an enterprise server or internet email, I can't tell from your post which you have.
However, to pick the applications to sync, assuming you have Desktop Manager 4.7,
    open Desktop Manager
Click on Synchronize on the left side of the screen
On the next screen that opens, choose Synchronize under the word "Configure" (also put check marks in all the boxes that will allow you to check)
On the next screen to open choose Synchronization on the "right" side
In a couple of seconds another screen will open up where you can choose what applications to sync (calendar in Outlook, tasks in Outlook, Contacts in Outlook etc)  just choose each program you need to sync and choose the program on your PC to use such as Outlook.
I also have the 8900 and it syncs with my Outlook 2003 for contacts, calendar, memo and tasks.
    Hope that helps.

  • Email setup and ports

trying to setup my email, its a imap or pop server, incomong is pop and out going is smtp. Not able to configure my email, i have all the passowrd stuff etc One thing i read on several posts was the mention of ports. how do you know which ports you are trying to connect to?

Okay... if your incoming server is pop.something, then choose POP at the top of the screen... smtp is an outgoing mail server standard... the ports are specific to your email provider. Typical outbound ports are 25 and 587... inbound tends to be 110.
Just curious, what is the @something.ext of your email address?

  • Curve Email setup and no pin

Hi, I have bought a second hand model and all works except cannot set up email.  Also I dont know the pin.
In the set up screen there is only one option and that is to set up an enterprise email account.   All I want to do is set up a gmail account and I have been unable to do that in this menu option.    So how do I set up a personal email?

To find your PIN, in any text box type "mypin" without the quotation marks and add a space after.

  • Airport Express setup and network design abstract

I have noticed that when I connect my AirPort Express wirelessly to my Airport Extreme that network throughput goes WAY down. It even says in the docs that when you do wirelessly extend a network, that it will affect performance... but mine is really super-low.
When the Express if off, I can transfer a file between two wirelessly connected Macs in my house at about 30-40mbps.. when the Express is on, that rate drops to less than 1mbps (about 700kbps, actually)
So here is my current thought:
I have Cat6 wire throughout my house - is it possible to connect the Express to the Extreme through the RJ45 port and then extend a wireless network?
I am assuming that the issue in my case is that there is a lot of wireless going on - If the Express can connect via wire to the Extreme, both routers should have more wireless headroom to serve up wireless client? No?
I'm going ot be introducing another destabilizing element into my home network. To back-end all that Cat6, I'm using a small business class Cisco router. The Extreme sits beside the Internet cable modem. The Cisco router pulls it's IP from DHCP on the Extreme and the Extreme and Cisco switch are connected. (Unfortunately, I can't figure out if there's a way to hack an extreme to support trunking)
I was going to plug the Express into the Cisco... All the devices are on the same subnet.
    Thanks!

I have Cat6 wire throughout my house - is it possible to connect the Express to the Extreme through the RJ45 port and then extend a wireless network?
Yes. In essence you will be creating what is called a "roaming" network. With this type of network, you could literally roam with a laptop between routers and still be on the same network.
I am assuming that the issue in my case is that there is a lot of wireless going on - If the Express can connect via wire to the Extreme, both routers should have more wireless headroom to serve up wireless client? No?
Basically, that is correct. Each router will provide a separate wireless network, but with the same Network Name or SSID.
To back-end all that Cat6, I'm using a small business class Cisco router. The Extreme sits beside the Internet cable modem. The Cisco router pulls it's IP from DHCP on the Extreme and the Extreme and Cisco switch are connected.
Will it be safe to assume that you will have the Cisco router configured as a bridge? That is, the Cisco will not provide either NAT or DHCP services?
FWIW, my current network configuration is similar to what you are attempting to do. In my case I have a Cisco RVS4000 as my "main" router, and a pair of 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Stations (AEBSn) connected to it by Ethernet. The AEBSns provide wireless on each floor of my 2-story home. With both AirPorts configured as a "roaming" network, I can walk my MacBook just about any where in the house and get Internet connectivity from the Cisco.

  • I can send email but not receive on my iphone 3GS. Emails to my .me address are OK but not emails to the address hosted by Network Solutions. NS have checked my settings twice. I am using IMAP. Is this a problem with iCloud?

I use IMAP email hosted by Network Solutions for my main email address. I can send and receive this OK in my Mac Mail on my MAC book and also on webmail. However my iphone doesn't receive these emails but it can send. I have checked settings on my iphone twice with Network Solutions but no luck. Emails addressed to my .me address are received OK. I have a suspicion this problem started when I signed up to icloud.
    my ISP is BTconnect
    Any ideas?

Useful suggestions. In fact I had already deleted and re-entered the account details a few days ago without apparent success. The error message was along the lines of "cannot access the server".
Anyway about an hour after your message, my emails started coming through after a 6 month gap!  - makes me think someone at Network Solutions monitors these discussions.
    Many thanks

  • Can't get Email client to work with Network Solutions Email server

This is a new Email account started after I installed Snow Leopard. The Email server is Network Solutions. I have tried all afternoon and evening trying to set up just one account / mailbox on the Mac and I still haven't gotten it to work. I have been over the settings multiple times with Network Solutions and they tell me all the settings are correct, but still no joy. When I try to 'Get Mail' it simply spins its wheels for a minute or so then displays a (!); i.e. it times out and stops trying. I don't know if it is something about Network Solution's servers that is causing the problem or if it something wrong on my end (most likely). Any idea what I can try? Is there a log someplace that will tell me exactly what part of the process is failing?

Problem solved. For some reason the POP client had 'SSL' turned on. Guess I set it by accident during one of my many tries. All is well now.
