Email Setup Application version 6.11.0324.1701 ERROR

Hi,
I need some urgent help. I recently updated to OS6. Since the update, I have been trying to add an email account to my BB but whenever I try to open the setup app, it advises to update Email Setup Application 6.11.0324.1701. There is a major bug in this update.
When I click cancel, I cannot access the setup. When I click ok, the error "com.rim.bis.client" contains a different version of module "net_rim_bis_client" which is also used by "Email Setup Application". If you proceed, "Email Setup Application" may cease to function properly. Proceed? When I click no, the entire download is cancelled and I cant access the setup. When I click yes, the unit doesnt boot and I have to reload the OS.
The update I refer to can be found at http://vodamy.blackberry.com/rest/updates/tc/6.0/6.11.0324.1701/net_rim_bis_client_en.jad
I have tried all sorts of workarounds from turning my connections off to updating via the web; all with the same frustrating result. FOR ALL USERS, DO NOT UPDATE TO OS6 UNTIL ISSUE IS FIXED.
Does anyone have a solution for this issue or does anyone have a contact in RIM that can sort this issue out ASAP?

  • Email setup application and BIS problems

Good morning, I've a problem with the email setup application on my bold 9700 with wind, when I start the application the icon start the browser and not the application itself so I can not activate the gmail sincronization.
I try to resend service book and reinstall all the firmware but the problem persist.
Do you know how I can fix this problem? I try to contact the Wind customer service but they didn't know why the icon email setup launch the browser and not the application.
Thanks a lot and best regards

Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?
You must, in order to get the RIM push email functions you are looking for, as well as addtional BlackBerry data services such as the internet browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger, and much more.
So, call your carrier and inquire about having the BlackBerry Data Plan added to your account.
    Good luck.

  • Email Setup Application 6.11.0324.1701

    Hi,
I'm here to report a huge bug. With the Email setup application update 6.11.0324.1701.
I've tried to install it and my BB won't boot. At first I got a 606 error then I had the progress bar stuck full.
I had to reinstall the OS and restore. If I refuse the update from the software I won't get access to the setup page.
This update is here http://vodafr.blackberry.com/rest/updates/tc/6.0/6.11.0324.1701/net_rim_bis_client_fr.jad I've tried with 6.0.0.526 6.0.0.534 and 6.0.0.246 and the same issue with everyone. I've tried to load this one http://vodafr.blackberry.com/rest/updates/tc/6.0/6.11.0324.1701/net_rim_bis_client_en.jad then the BB boot but when I try to go to the BIS setup nothing happens. So I guess this is a language problem or a corrupt update. Non english users DO NOT UPDATE!!
If anyone who has a solution or can contact RIM about this..

    Same for me:

  • Accidentally deleted the Applications folder and Personal Email Setup icon

I have a BlackBerry Curve 8320.  I managed to delete my Applications folder, and also managed to delete the "Personal Email Set Up" icon from the BlackBerry Setup folder.  I don't have a backup of my device that I can restore from (stupid, I know).
My wife also has an 8320, so I took a backup of her device--she still has the things that were deleted from mine--and I'm trying to restore them using the Advanced restore feature of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager, but I don't know what to restore to get these things back.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Whew. Thanks for the response.  You rock!  (I also book marked that page for future use. They should tell you about that gem...)
I originally set them up on the Blackberry itself via the setup wizard (email setup step).
Note- At first I went to the link on my laptop and it didn't work (entered my PIN and IMEI#s and got an error saying I could not access the my device via an HTML browser).  So go via device it you have this problem.

  • Email Setup Application Does Not Work After Update

I seem to be having the same problem as others with the email setup application.
When I updated my Blackberry to the new OS6, I went to my email setup and it said "looking for updates"
It finds a new update from my already installed email setup app 6.0.0 to the new 6.11.0419.0755.
When I click "download" it says replace existing version? I click "yes"
The it says: "com.rim.bis.client" contains a different version of module "net_rim_bis_client" which is also used by email setup application. If you proceed, "email setup application" may cease to function properly. proceed?
If I click "yes proceed" it crashes my blackberry and it will not reboot and I have to do a complete hard reboot, wipe the device and reload everything from my backup on blackberry desktop.
If I click "no" not to proceed, I cannot open the email setup application.
I have tried downgrading to version 5 of the OS, I have rebooted with a battery pull, crashed my blackberry twice and spent hours reloading all my applications and systems.  I am at the end of my rope, and I don't know what else to do?!
If there was a way to turn off the automatic search for updates on my device under the setup and email settings, i think I would be able to set it up in the older version 6.0.0
    HELP.

    yep same problem here
i had this problem and got a replacement handset.
i have had to do an update and got the same issue yet again.
The funny thing is, is when i got my new handset i had to run the email setup application and it worked fine.
now its failed and i have to boot in safe mode and wipe etc.
Will someone sort this out???!! O2, Blackberry whoever. Shambles!

  • Annoying email setup warning during roaming on 580...

    Guys,
Does anyone know how to disable the message that pops up from the Email Setup program when the network changes (e.g.. During roaming) on the Nokia 5800 (FW version 50.0.005) saying "allow phone to use network to send and receive data".
Basically if you go abroad and have roaming enabled you will often find the phone changes network, e.g.. I was just in Italy and it regularly roamed from Vodafone IT to I Wind and TIM. Each time it swapped network I got the email setup program displayed and it said "can it use the network" which required a response. Why?? No other application needs this constant interaction!
It was especially annoying as I would be using the sat nav (so cool) but then while driving it would change network, then this message would be displayed which takes the focus from Ovi Maps so the screen blacks out, and locks (which seemed to stop the navigation instructions being read out even!).
    Please fix this Nokia!!!

Any update on this from Nokia?
I recently updated my 5800xm and I have the same problem now; in fact I wouldn'st say roaming changes anything, it happens all the time.
I really like all the updates we get on the 5800; I think it adds a lot of credibility to the Nokia offering.
But this bug should be resolved now. The only solution I have is to remove the mail setup application; not really a solution is it?
Or I could disable it. Any idea how to disable an app on NOkia 5800?

  • Bold 9700 not starting up after email setup update 6.11. Need help with a mac!!!

I installed the official os 6 on my blackberry released by O2 over a month back. Yesterday, I was not able to configure any emails without downloaed the new version of the email setup 6.11. After the install, I was needed to reboot the phone. However, since then the phone is not switching on. That initial page comes with the Blackberry logo and that status bar (which shows completed) but never leaves that page!!
    Someone please please help!!!!

I got mine to work by reinstalling OS 6 via the Blackberry Desktop software, but because I restored my backup as well as my old settings for email, my emails are still coming through provided I don't change my passwords as I can't get into settings without being asked to update as well. It means I won't be able to get my exchange emails as we always have to change/verify passwords periodically. The weirdest thing is that I no longer have maps and password keeper....

  • Reloading BlackBerry Email Setup Application

    Hi,
I accidentally deleted the Blackberry Email Setup application in my BB Torch 9800. Accordingly, I cannot  setup any email accounts on my BB.
Does anybody know how I can reinstall this application so that I can setup my email accounts on my BB?
    Thank you,

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I don't want to step on Boomer56's toes, but you've been without a response for six hours so I'll take a shot at it.
If you plug your phone into your PC and open Desktop Manager, you can reload your current OS from there.  First, open Desktop Manager and do a data backup of your phone.  Once that's complete, click Device at the top of DM and Update from the drop-down menu.  You might be told that your phone is up to date.  At the bottom of that box, it'll show Show Other Versions.  Click that and make sure your current version is the one that's checked.  Keep it checked and click Update.  This will re-install your current OS, along with all the bells and whistles it came with.
    - If my response has helped you, please click "Options" beside my post and mark it as solved. Clicking the "thumbs up" icon near the bottom of my response would also be appreciated.

  • E75 email setup problems with 210.12.15

Corporate email and gmail have worked fine for a year, but after 210.12.15 upgrade started first to have synch problems. After shutting of the E75 it now loses email setup information and just keeps asking passwords. I have tried resetting to factory defaults and restoring phone data, but still not able to sync email. Trying to setup email from scratch also gives error message in the beginning and is not able to connect to the server. 210.12.15 included changes to the email software, so it is the obvious candidate, but I haven't seen any other people with the same problem?
    80's user

    Hi,
after repairof keyboard, E75/ FW 210.12.15 was installed. I've not only problems connecting to my home WIFI network for checking mail (MAC filtered and with WEP key), I also can't connect to Internet thru this WIFI network. Checked with another open WIFI network and did not succeed either.
I've indeed noticed changing some settings were not stored.
Aonther thread mentions FAT of memory card corrupted, letting E75 reboot spontanuously. Formatted my microSD card. Still rebooting unexpectedly.
I find it strange this version is not on official Nokia support site.
    Hope we can find solution.

  • Problems with email setup - Can't access security check

Hi all, i've recently aquired a BB Curve 9300 and managed to setup everything but I still have an unsolved problem:
i set up a gmail email account from my provider mobile email setup page (http://mobileemail.vodafone.it) and asked to sync both contacts and calendars.
The email was correctly set up as i can read and send emails but syncronization doesn't work.
    My provider's site says:
If you have not already done so, to start calendar and contact synchronization, complete the security activation on your BlackBerry® device:
    1. On the Home screen, click the Setup icon and click Email Accounts or Email Settings.
    2. After you open the application, the security activation starts. When security activation is complete, calendar and contact synchronization automatically begins.
If i try to do just that (open the menu, click on the set-up icon and then choose the "Email Accounts" icon) the device quickly shows a hourclass icon, hide it and then does nothing.
If i try to access "Email Account Management" from inside the mailbox options i get the following error message:
"unable to open email set-up application. contact your wireless service provider"
I tried contacting my wireless service provider both in-shop and on the phone and their theory is that the email setup application is too new and is not compatible with my version of the blackberry OS (which is 6.0 bundle 2949, the device says it's up to date).
I tried a battery pull but didn't help.
Any suggestion would be really appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Marcello

    Gotcha.
Are you able to access the email account from https://bis.eu.blackberry.com/html?brand=vodauk
If so, delete the email account from there then try adding it using the integrate link on the phone.

  • Email setup application v. 6.11.0419 freezes 9330

I went to update the email setup application on my new 9330 and throughout the update, it prompted me several times with the message: ? is also used by "Email Setup Application." If you proceed "Email setup application" may cease to function properly. Proceed? I don't know what the ? preceding  the beginning of the statement means. After I clicked on this several times throughout the update it finally updated and prompted for a restart. I restarted and the phone filled up the status bar and froze. Even after I removed and replaced the battery several times. I got the phone to unfreeze finally but I won't update the email installer again until this problem is worked out. Anyone know what the deal is?

    this worked for me
NOTE: The following workaround is intended for BlackBerry smartphones running BlackBerry 6 OS only. To determine the operating system version, select Options > Device > About Device Versions on the BlackBerry. Performing the following workaround on OS versions other than BlackBerry 6 may cause the Email Accounts/Set-up application to become unusable. If this happens, a reload of the BlackBerry device software may be required. Please see KB03621 for steps for reload the BlackBerry device software.
On BlackBerry smartphones running BlackBerry 6 only with a BlackBerry Internet Browsing enabled data plan:
Download and install a new BlackBerry Internet Service Email Accounts/Set-up Application by navigating to the following URL using the web browser on the BlackBerry device: http://<brand>.blackberry.com/rest/EmailClient/
Note: <brand> corresponds to the carrier BIS brand name. e.g. (Verizon = vzw, ATT = mycingular, Rogers = rogers) The BlackBerry smartphone user may need to contact their mobile carrier technical support to obtain the value to substitute for <brand> in the URL as it is different for each carrier.

  • Email Setup Application Update

Having serious issues trying to get email to work. Email shows up in the end, but I can't compose.
When I try to open Messages icon and update the Email Setup Application the below happens
When I try to set up my email account, it prompts me to do an update (Email Setup Application Version 6.11.0419.0755).
I click ‘Yes’ and begin download.
It then asks me ‘Application “Email Setup Application” already exists. Replace version 6.0.0 with version 6.11.0419.0755?” - so I click ‘ Replace’.
    It then begins the download.
However it stops, and then an error comes up reading ‘ “com.rim.bis.client” contains a different version of module “net_rim_bis_client,” which is also used by “Email Setup Application.” If you proceed, “Email Setup Application” may cease to function properly. Proceed?” - so I click Yes
It continues to download, and then prompts me with the above error “com.rim.bis.client” contains a different version...” again 3 times.
It then prompts be me reboot. So I do.
It then reboots, but takes about 7-10 mintues to do so (it sits on the startup screen with the progress bar sitting at ‘complete’).
When it finally reboots an error comes up that reads ‘Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException’ - so I click OK
Then another error comes up reading ‘Uncaught exception: ApplicationRegistry.waitFor(Oxbfca09409ffe99e5) timeout. So I click OK.
Then the first error ‘Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException’ comes up 2 times - click ok both times.
Then error reading ‘Uncaught exception: java.lang.Error comes up. Click OK.
Then the first error ‘Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException’ comes up 2 times - click ok both times.
Then error reading ‘Uncaught exception: java.lang.Error comes up again. Click OK.
Then the first error ‘Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException’ comes up 8 times - click ok 8 times.
THen I get a white screen with all my applications and programs in a list, and a black bar at the top that says ‘BlackBerry Platform 6.6.0.200. If I click on them it just brings up an error. Example: If I click on Address Book the error reads “Error starting net_rim_bb_addressbook_app: Module ‘net_rim_bis_lib’ not found. Hit OK and it goes back to white screen.
The only way to get phone working again is to reinstall operating system.
When I do so and phone is rebooting, grey screen comes up with small message ‘error 507 reload software’
    Hope someone can help.
PS Why is BlackBerry so crappy with it's support? Is there anyway I can contact BlackBerry to get help with this issue??? Like talk to a PERSON? Please help.

  • Email Setup update 611.0459

My phone is telling me I must download this update to the email setup. Once it downloads and the phone reboots, it will freeze with the action  bar at 100% and will not actual restart the phone. Any advice? What is my problem with this update? Because without the update, I cannot configure email on my phone.
I am on Sprint. It is a new phone, so it has nothing but the basics on it.
    Thanks in advance.
    Rich

I also have this problem, but with a Torch.  It bricked my phone, so I had to reload the operating system.  I updated to the most current version.  I went back to the email setup program, so as to add a new email address, and the setup program checked for updates and asked me if I wanted to upgrade.  I said no, so it stopped running the program.  As it happens it will not allow you to use the program until you update, but it does not survive the update.  There are a series of underlying modules that the program update gripes about -- that it requires newer versions of certain modules than the ones that exist on the Blackberry.  But, as I said, I have upgraded to the RECOMMENDED current version of the OS.
Help please.  Because of this, you have left me with a useless phone in the middle of a conference far, far away from my backup (I don't carry them on my laptop when travelling for security reasons!).
    Not happy!
