Are you talking about Verizon email?
If so you can use webmail otherwise, as Win8 doesn't support pop, you will have to use some other 3rd party email client - Verizon mail only supports pop not imap that win8 supports.
here's another thread on the same subject.  It has a couple of suggestions on possible work arounds.

    Hi
I am running OSX Maverick in a bootcamp setup with Windows 8.1 and have played around with the isight camera but I would like to know what folder the photo's/video's are sent to?
Also, are there any settings or user guide for the isight camera in Windows 8.1?
    Thanks

I don't use Boot Camp, but does anything here help you? Boot Camp - Apple Support.
My look there did not show anything about the new Windows 8.1.  The latest I saw was Windows 8.
Brave01Heart wrote: ... what folder the photo's/video's are sent to?...
The answer will be wherever the app you are iusing for the capture stores them unless you change the default location.  This answer is the same for either Windows or Apple operating systems.

  • RV180 Remote Logging Configuration - Email Setup With Google Apps Email

    Hello,
Trying to setup email logs to be sent from a RV180 using Google Apps email. Have successfully set up email logs to be sent in both a UC320W, and an RV016, but the RV180 seems to be giving me some trouble.
    Current RV180 Firmware: 1.0.1.9
    Have tried the following settings:
         EMail Logs: Enable
EMail Server Address: smtp.gmail.com (also tried ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM which seems to work for the RV016 surprisingly)
SMTP Port: Have tried 25, 587, and 465 with both Email server addresses
Return to EMail Address: My email address, also tried 2 alternate addresses
Send to Email: My email address, also tried an alternative address
Authentication with SMTP server: Login Plain
Username: Tried using the Return Email address account info
Password: Tried using the Return Email address account info
Will this feature work using Google Apps email? Any direction is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Matt

  • E71 Email Setup with Push Email software - SOLVED

I am sure people have already used this software...
For others like me and after a few days trying to setup my emails on the E71 with the Nokia software, I gave up and found the FREE Seven software 'Push' emails that makes the E71 work like a Blackberry.
    - Free basic Yahoo account suffice...
    - Literally takes 5 minutes to setup
    - Can manage multiple mailbox (Yahoo, Gmail, Aol... & Others)
    - And its FREE !!!
I understand Nokia also has its version but seems to be more limited in usage.

  • Re: Nokia Email Setup with Exchange

    Karim,
Are you familiar with Active Sync for Exchange? It is a feature available on the new Nokia E70 which I purchased for exactly this purpose. I am getting a message that reads "site is not sending a trusted certificate" but I was told that it should still synch without trusted certificate.
Now, Nokia is telling me that it is dependent on my service provider which needs to enable Exchange Synch ML in order for me to use this feature. I have my own email server and am trying to sync with Exchange remotely.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks for your time.

When Mail for Exchange connects to a server using a secure connection, it is best if the device has the same root certificate installed that has been used to issue the server certificate. Otherwise the device will prompt the user about an untrusted certificate every time a connection is made to the server. This may happen several times daily, sometimes only minutes between.
Nokia devices come with many certificates pre-installed. These can be viewed by using Menu-Tools-Settings-Security-Certif_management. If a certificate issued by one of these certificates is used on the server, no additional certificates are required on the device.
If a certificate that can not be validated with the device’s pre-installed certificates is used, for example a certificate that has been self-created, the root certificate that has been used to issue the server certificate must be installed on all devices the administrator deploys.
In the case of a self-signed server certificate, the root certificate is the same as the server certificate since there is no certificate chain. The server certificate is the one that should be installed.
Before installation the administrator must convert the certificate to a format the Nokia device supports.
For the experienced admin, this statement can be followed: A server’s root certificate must be converted to ‘DER encoded binary X.509’ format.
Step 1: Obtain the root (not intermediate) certificate for the server in base64 format. This should look something like this:
    -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----
    VQQGEwJaQTEiMCAGA1UECBMZRk9SIFRFU1RJTkcgUF
    VSUE9TRVMgT05MWTEdMBsGRVNUMRwwGgYDVQQDExNU
    aGF3dGUgVGVzdCBDQSBSb290MB4XDTA1MTEwNzExMj
    BgEFBQcBAQQmMCQwIgYIKwYBBQUHMAGGFmh0dHA6Ly
    FLgsY+QtxYo=
    -----END CERTIFICATE-----
Step 2: Cut and paste this into notepad and save (or rename) this file with “.cer” extension, i.e.
Step 3: On a Windows PC (XP is used here), double-click the file you created. A Certificate application will start after several seconds. There are three tabs (General, Details, and Certification Path). Select the ‘Details’ tab.
Now press ‘Copy to File…’ button to start the ‘Certificate Export Wizard’. Press ‘Next’. Now select ‘DER encoded binary X.509 (.CER)’ and press ‘Next’. Continue to save the file with any name like . Make sure the filename has a ‘.cer’ extension.
Step 4: Get this file to the device via any means (email, Bluetooth, memory card, etc.). Find the file on the device and select it. If these steps were followed correctly, the device will start to import the certificate. Follow prompts and when asked, check the boxes for both ‘Internet’ and ‘Online cert. checking’.
Result: You should see a new certificate installed in the device’s Security management list.
Otherwise, the phone will display an error about file format not being supported. If this happens, the certificate has not been imported.

  • Radius setup with Windows

I am trying to setup the RADIUS server and I am able to get everything configured with my TimeCapsule/Airport Station successfully so that all of my macs and iOS devices can login and access the network. However, windows clients (Running Windows 7) are not able to connect, all I get is a Cannot Connect to Network error, any ideas?

I got it working on Windows 7 and Windows XP after long and hard fiddling. To get Windows 7 to connect, I found the easiest way was to start from scratch by creating a new wireless connection instead of trying to join a wireless network that shows up in the list of available networks to connect to.
    Open Network and Sharing Center.
Select Manage wireless networks in the left menu.
Click the Add button, and select Manually create a network profile.
Enter following data, as shown in the image below, then click Next:
    Network name: YOURNETWORKNAME
    Security type: WPA2-Enterprise
    Encryption type: AES
    Security Key: <leave blank>
If you want your computer to automatically select CAEN whenever it is available, check Start this connection automatically:
You will see a window that says Successfully added YOURNETWORKNAME. Do not close this window yet. Click Change connection settings
In the YOURNETWORKNAME Wireless Network Properties window, select the Security tab:
In the drop-down menu for Choose a network authentication method, select Microsoft: Protected EAP (PEAP).
If you do not wish to enter your password each time you connect, check the box next to Remember my credentials for this connection each time I'm logged on.
    Click the Settings button.
In the Protected EAP Properties window (shown below), uncheck the Validate server certificate box.
Make sure the box next to Enable Fast Reconnect is checked.
Under Select Authentication Method, select Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2), and click the Configure... button.
Uncheck Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any), and click OK
Click OK, to close the Protected EAP Properties window, and return to the YOURNETWORKNAME Wireless Network Properties window.
    Click the Advanced settings button.
In the 802.1X settings tab, check the box next to Specify authentication mode and select User authentication from the drop-down menu
Click OK to close the Advanced settings window, and click OK again to close the YOURNETWORKNAME Wireless Network Properties window.
If you are in range of a YOURNETWORKNAME wireless access point, you will be automatically be prompted to Enter/select additional logon information
When prompted for Network Authentication, enter your username and password
I was also able to get our other Netgear wireless access points to work with Snow Leopard Server's Radius authentication. Under Server Admin->RADIUS->Base Stations:
    Click the PLUS button
Give it a name you want (like model/location)
In the Type field put "other" without the quotes
Put in the IP address of the access point
Enter a Shared Secret for this access point
Hope this helps as it was hard to find and figure out all this stuff on our own. Figured it was my turn to pay back to the forums

  • Leopard Setup with Windows servers

I have found other people that are having this problem but no one seems to know how to fix it. We have a Windows 2003 Enterprise server running with several shares on it. We have several people that are using Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. For a while they were not able to access the shares. It would give them a restrictions message. We got rid of that by changing a setting on the server in the local security policies. Now they are able to see the shares. They are even able to copy documents to the shares and it works fine.
Here is the problem. If you open up Microsoft Excel on the Mac and you try to save directly to the share it tells you that the disk is full. We know this isn't the case because it is a huge shared drive. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to solve this problem. Other software packages are able to save directly onto the shared drive fine from the Mac. So it seems to be maybe a problem with Excel.

Can you explain the settings changed from the server in the local security policies ?
    We have the same problem....
    Thanks

    Yes

Depends on the protocol used for each account and how you have notifications configured.
You didn't specify what kind of accounts they all are (IMAP, POP, Exchange) so nobody can say for sure.

  • Email attachments to Windows users

When I used to use Panther as an OS, if I emailed people with Windows machines I could simply attach a graphic or file in Mail, check "Windows friendly attachments" and when they got the email they could open the attachments easily.
Now, using Tiger and Mail, if I do the same thing with the attachments, the recipients tell me that the graphics and other attachments "embed" in their emails and they can't open the attachments. Only if I Zip the files can they open and use them easily. Is this something I can solve in Mail, or is the problem at their end? Is there any way I can just get back to attaching files as Windows friendly without having to Zip them?

You might try Mail Attachments Iconizer (http://lokiware.info/Mail-Attachments-Iconizer) and see if it helps.
However, some files and PC mail programs may still have problems.

  • Exchange Server 2013 - Lab setup with internal emails only

    Hi,
I'm new to Exchange Server 2013. I've started a POC on the product by setting up a Lab environment with one 1 AD server and 1 Exchange server (Both Windows 2012 R2). As this is a POC I just need the internal email communication. I don't want the mails to
    go over the internet.
I've completed the installation part and just started to configure Send/Receive connectors and got stuck with the question whether the connectors are required or not.
Could someone please help me out in configuring internal email setup for Exchange 2013 lab setup.
    Regards,
    Nithin

    Hi,
You need not to configure send/receive connectors for internal email.
The following article for your reference:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us//library/aa996395(v=exchg.150).aspx
Default Receive connectors created during setup
Certain Receive connectors are created by default when you install the Mailbox server role.
Default Receive connectors created on a Mailbox server running the Transport service
When you install a Mailbox server running the Transport service, two Receive connectors are created. No additional Receive connectors are needed for typical operation, and in most cases the default Receive connectors don't require a configuration change.
    These connectors are the following:
Default <server name>   Accepts connections from Mailbox servers running the Transport service and from Edge servers.
Client Proxy <server name>   Accepts connections from front-end servers. Typically, messages are sent to a front-end server over SMTP.
Each connector is assigned a TransportRole value. You can use it to determine the role the connector is running in. This can be helpful in cases where you are running multiple roles on a single server. In the case of each Receive connector previously
mentioned, their TransportRole value is HubTransport.
To view the default Receive connectors and their parameter values, you can use the
    Get-ReceiveConnector cmdlet.
Default Receive connectors created on a Front End Transport server
During installation, three Receive connectors are created on the Front End transport, or Client Access server. The default Front End Receive connector is configured to accept SMTP communications from all IP address ranges. Additionally, there is a Receive
connector that can act as an outbound proxy for messages sent to the front-end server from Mailbox servers. Finally, there is a secure Receive connector configured to accept messages encrypted with Transport Layer Security (TLS). These connectors are the following:
Default FrontEnd <server name>   Accepts connections from SMTP senders over port 25. This is the common messaging entry point into your organization.
Outbound Proxy Frontend <server name>   Accepts messages from a Send Connector on a back-end server, with front-end proxy enabled.
Client Frontend <server name>   Accepts secure connections, with Transport Layer Security (TLS) applied.
In a typical installation, no additional Receive connectors are required.
