Email Sign-in Seal

I have set up my Email sign-in seal on a number of occasions over the last year.....but after a while the sign-in seal disappears!!!!
It is a worry ..... is there a valid reason for this loss?
Mike D

Hi Mike,
Have you deleted cookies/temporary internet files or changed browsers around the time when the sign-in seal disappears? There shouldn't be any reason behind it disappearing on its own. This thread (albeit a few months old) might clarify things for you.

  • Missing the sign in seal (assuring validity) for Yahoo email sign in page

The sign in seal is an option you build for sign in id and password for yahoo emails. it assures authenticity. It shows up, except on firefox. I would appreciate your comments please.
    Thanks in advance..

Specifically, it appears the information is stored in the '''YL''' cookie from the ''login.yahoo.com'' domain. Either of the following add-ons can delete all but certain cookies, for those who regularly clear out cookies but need to keep a few.

  • Synching Yahoo Account With Sign-in Seal

Recently, my Yahoo account was compromised, so I changed my password and added a sign-in seal to my account on my PC. However, due to the sign-in seal, it now seems I'm not able to access me Yahoo e-mail from my iPhone.
Does anyone know if there is a way to allow my iPhone to be authorized without removing the seal from my Yahoo account?

Unlikely as its a new yahoo feature that the simple email clients was never designed to handle.
You can suggest this to Apple here, but even if successful, it may be a while.

  • Yahoo's sign-in seal won't display in Firefox but will in I.E.

My Yahoo sign-in seal worked fine 'til this morning. It'll change the color but won't display the same or new text. Yahoo tech said it's a Firefox problem because it works in Internet Explorer. He dbl-checked that I wasn't on a phishing site.
    Any ideas to correct this?
    Thx-Kate

Is the seal a Flash object?
Update the Flash plugin to the latest version.

    * Clear the Cache

  • Can't create a sign in seal

    Afternoon all
    XP SP3
I downloaded some microsoft updates this morning, including IE8.
After updating I ran ccleaner to tidy up the registry.
My sign in seal on BTY has disappeared and I don't seem to be able to create a new one.
    Any suggestions?
    TIA
    Dave

    Morning all
After an online chat with Yahoo and 45 min's on the phone to the sub continent, I was eventually told that the problem was with their kit. I was also told that all would be well when they fixed it at their end.
I don't have much confidence in the people over there (it's not their fault, it's the system) but this morning, there is the seal I created yesterday.
Thanks all for the suggestions about ccleaner options.
I see this morning that Mr Gates has sent me another IE8 update.
    Watch this space
    Cheers
    Dave

Let's ensure your e-mail is up and running properly. I would suggest clearing the application through Settings > Apps > Manage Apps > All > Clear Cache and Data from the e-mail application that you're using.

  • Sign-In Seal Problems - Mac OSX 10.x

    Hello,
Have been using Yahoo Mail from my MacBook and my wife's Windows PC for years. This morning, our sign-in seals disappeared from both computers. I got in touch with the BT Hotline folks and a technician confirmed "a new interface" had just been implemented. After checking out my MacBook via Go To Assist, the technician said all was well. No suspicious phishing going on. I then tried to load a new sign-in seal for my MacBook..... No success. Couldn't load a sign-in phrase, either. Re-booted several times, all to no avail. Tried my wife's Windows laptop.... Instant success... A new sign-in seal! Mailed the sign-in seal photo to myself and saved it on my MacBook. STILL no joy creating a sign-in seal!!! Called the Hotline again. They tried to escalate to senior technicians, but phones were busy for 40 minutes  :-(
Does anyone know what I can do next? Has anyone experienced the same phenomenon?
    Thanks

    Hi there,
I am using Snow Leopard (OS 10.6.6) on my Mac Mini and I have just managed to create a sign-in seal without any issues whatsoever.
A couple of suggestions, which might help:
    1. What browser are you using on your Mac? Have you tried using a different browser?
    2. Have you tried clearing cookies, history, etc, in case you're accessing a "cached" page?
    I hope this info helps.

  • Yahoo Sign-in Seal keeps disappearing

When BT Yahoo introduced a sign-in seal, I saw it as another good move to improve security - after all, some banks have a similar stage.
But over the past week or so, I have found that whenever I log on, my seal has been replaced by the blasted red 'x'. So I set it up again - correctly, I believe! - but it is never there when I return. It's the same effect as hiitting 'OK' rather than 'Apply'.
    Anyone else having this?
If I had the time I would move away from BT Yahoo, as I've mentioned before.
PS Is it a co-incidence that around this period, I've heard the 'error' sound when powering up, but there hasn't been an error message window? How can I check this start-up error?

This has been raised before - try a search for "sign-in seal" in these forums. The sign-in seal depends on a cookie. The answer may be that your computer is not accepting cookies or is deleting them.

  • I use a yahoo sign-in seal and with firefox 7 it doesn't stay saved. How do I fix this?

Prior to updating to the new Firefox 7 I had created a sign-in seal that yahoo provides. This is an added security feature so that you know you are on the legitimate yahoo site signing in. In the past each time I would go to yahoo to sign in the seal would be there. Now with the update it is not saved. I would need to make the sign-in seal each time, which defeats the purpose. Are there settings I need to do in order for this to be saved all the time?

Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode? <br />

  • When I sign in to yahoo I have a custom security sign in seal that lets me know that I'm actually on yahoo and not some phoney site. Since I upgraded my firefox to the newest edition, whenever I sign off of yahoo my security sign seal disappears

Trying to find out why my yahoo sign in seal keeps disappearing every time I sign off of yahoo and shut down firefox. When I bring firefox back up and go back to yahoo my sign in seal is no longer there and I have to create a new one

Is that seal saved in a browser cookie or otherwise like a Flash cookie (object)?
You can try to recreate the seal as suggested above.
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
    * Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    * Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

I used private browsing for over a year, I used to keep a sign in seal for yahoo, now the sign in seal does not appear, how can I
get the sign in seal to appear again?

I didn't change any settings nor stored it anywhere, it stopped working today,
it happened in the morning, I checked at 10: 05pm, now it is working again,
perhaps something happened or somehow someone corrected the issue,

  • BTY sign in seal

I can see the logic behind this feature, but I must be missing something
Every time I upload a sign in seal the next time I go back to the sign in page its gone.  The only way to stop it vanishing, is to [wait for it] remain signed in!
    Anyone any offers please?

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I had the same problem setting up for another user on my lappy. The way around this is when you go to tools then internet options & click, you will then open the internet options window.
This done you would click 'Delete' temporary files, cookies etc.
Once you click on this option it opens another window on top of the existing one 'Delete browsing history'
In this window you will notice various check boxes, Temporary internet files, cookies, history & form data.
The check box at the top of this window is 'preserve favourites website data' check this box and your problem with sign-in-seal should be resolved.
Go back to your default BT Yahoo page & set up your sign-in-seal again. If the default page doesn't give you an option then sign into BT Yahoo ,sign out and the sign-in-seal option should be there. Download your pics/text or whatever, & off you go. BTW you dont need to check the box below your new sign in seal (the one below your user name/password.
Once set-up test by deleting temporary files then open up your browser & your sign-in- seal will still be there.
    Good luck

  • BT Yahoo! Sign-in seal...?

    Hiya,
Does anyone know if BT Yahoo! have killed off the security 'Sign-In Seal ?'
Because it isn't showing mine anymore when I sign in to BT Yahoo on my home PC, and it isn't asking me if I want to create a new one (like it used to) if I erased my cookies etc. I don't think my sign in page is a 'phising' page, but I'm no expert, so...
Anyone know what has happened to it and do I need to worry?
    Thanks for your time.

    Hey Lakedrive442,
It sounds like you have changed your Apple ID which you use with iTunes.  If so there are several places you may need to update it as outlined in this article.

Of course some might not apply, but many might.
