Email Signature Problems

I have created a new email signature, but it simply will not appear as an option on the pull-down menu when I create a new message. The system also refuses to acknowledge and insert the signature I designated as the default signature. It should appear in every message I create. What can I do?
I have restarted the mail program, restarted the computer, and even logged out and logged back in, but nothing seems to work.
Oddly, I can edit the existing signatures and the edits do show up immediately.

No. But I did figure out the problem. It's kind of a "duh" thing actually.
I have inactive POP accounts that I was adding sigs to instead of the active IMAP accounts.
Once I figured that out, everything was fine.
Thanks for your reply nonetheless.

  • Email signature problem

When I try to send email 10.10.1 it works fine with no signature in the message. If I add a signature that contains an email address and website link the email is sent but no one ever receives it? Remove the signature and all is fine again. Comcast is my provider. This signature has worked fine until last Saturday when people stopped  receiving my email even though they were sent and not stored in my outbox. Any ideas?

However, it has now changed to all being on one line and I can't change it or understand how it has changed.  Anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it?

    Hi. Welcome to the forums.
Are you seeing the new fancy webmail system or Classic Mail ?
When you're viewing the signature (Mail/Mail options/Signature), is it showing as Rich text or Plain text ?
May I assume that you've tried to alter it and re-add the carriage returns ?

  • Email signature problem with iPad Air

I have a signature in my iPad email that is simply my name, a dashed line, then "Sent from my iPad Air".  The problem is when anyone (including me on a different email account) reads an email from my iPad, my name and dashed line are the same font type and size as in the body of my email.  But the last line of my three-line signature, is much larger.  Here's a screenshot:
I have a similar signature in my iPhone 5S but it works just fine.  Here's a screenshot of this signature:
This makes absolutely no sense to me at all.  Both the iPhone 5S and iPad Air have iOS 7, latest updates, and the signatures were typed into the signature box in Settings...not pasted in.  Hopefully, someone has seen this before, but Googling it got me nothing.

No, they're the same.  That's just the way I cut off the screenshot.  I just confirmed that I can can copy/paste my signature into the signature box on my iPad or iPhone and it retains the font, size, etc. of where I copied it from.  It does NOT appear to have retained them, but when I send a test email from the iPad the changed fonts show up.
I'll try clearing the signature box again, though I've done this before, and type in my signature again.  It might work.

  • Problems with Email Signature in Outlook

    Hi everyone,
I've been trying to create an email signature for my office that can be viewed correctly in any browser/ email client/ platform. I'm currently designing/ coding on a Mac.
I created the design for it in Photoshop and then sliced it appropriately.
Saved it on a sever (PhotoBucket) so all the images are hosted.
Next I created a table in Dreamweaver and added each sliced image from the server into each appropriate table cell until it was formatted correctly.
Then I added in links to a majority of the images:
i.e. image links to company website, Facebook and twitter accounts; mailto links for the email address; and a "a href="tel:..." for the company phone numbers
Then I saved and opened it in Safari, copied it, and pasted into signatures.
Everything works great/ looks great as far as formatting and coding - essentially everything 'works' when I open it in Safari or Chrome etc. The problems start when I copy it into Outlook and send it out.
    Problems I'm having:
    1. When i send a blank email the signature looks good from my Mac Outlook. On some PC's Outlook the table is splitting up into individual cells and stacking on top of each other. On other PC's it looks fine.
    2.  The signature in the body of the email does not move along with newly typed text. Instead it overlaps and covers any text that is under it.
    3. When I try testing by sending the signature to a Gmail account, the images come as individual attachments or individual links- a huge annoying mess.
    Different things I have tried:
    1. Using HotSpots instead of image links: although it shows up on Safari, the links to not work in Outlook.
    2. Not hosting images, but instead linking directly from my Mac.
Is there anything I'm missing? Or is what I'm trying to do (Create an email signature that is functional and clickable) simply not possible?
    I'd appreciate any advice!
    Thank you

I think i'll stop you there. Email signatures do not require images and you should maybe think about having everything as text. You will no doubt be emailing people outside your company and lots of people don't have images turned on by default (hotmail, yahoo, outlook) so if you have any contact information in there, or your name, they won't see it!
At the most I would have a small image of the company logo next to your information in text, and all the social media links as text as well.

  • Single email signature for multiple devices

    Hi,
I want to use one email signature from my mac mail account - I want it to be the same from iPhone, iPad and desktop mac - ideally including my logo, phone number and website as a clickable link.
Is this possible because I'm really struggling.
    Thanks in advance!

You need an IMAP or Exchange account...not a configuration problem...type of mail account problem. Keeping things in Sync across multiple devices can't be done with a POP account.

  • How can i add a picture/logo in my email signature?

Hello. I need to add a logo in my signature. How can I do this? I tried to upload but just get a red cross...
    Thank you

My guess is the problem with the square is being caused by incomplete or broken html in the Email Signature.  I think the Signature panel doesn't know how to fix HTML.  But the email app does... so this is why you copy a complete & pre-formatted email message: entirely.
I walked through the directions above, exactly, and it works with (in my case) even oversized JPG files in the signature.
By copy and pasting the whole message body, you'll retain the html formatting &, in my case, the image too.  Running iOS 8.1 & it worked after a few tries.
Keep trying combinations... you'll get it.

  • I have changed the email signature on my iPhone, when composing a new email the signature is there, however when I am replying to an email it is not, how can I make sure that the signature is at the end of every email I send?

I have changed the email signature on my iPhone, when composing a new email the signature is there, however when I am replying to an email it is not, how can I make sure that the signature is at the end of every email I send?

Yes I know what you mean about it cluttering the thread and for personal emails it is better without the signature. However this relates to sending business emails from an iPhone so I need the signature present on every email.
I can't find anything in Settings so I was hoping someone may have some knowledge/information/experience regarding this problem.

  • Resize html image in email signature

Hi, I have been trying to insert my company logo in my email signature on Outlook Client 2013 but the results have been disappointing. Would greatly appreciate your assistance. Thank you in advance!
My company logo is in png-format. Its dimensions are 1221 x 374 px, and has a dpi of192. Its size is 37.9 KB.
I have read from various online sources that it is better to resize the image such that it is not larger than 10 KB.
However, I do not want to resize the image (to ideal width: 150 px) before inserting it in the signature editor, because doing that is bound to degrade the resolution of the image, no matter how good the photo editor is. I have tried gimp and various
photo editors, but the resulting picture quality is poor and grainy. I can barely make out the text in the logo.
These are the 4 methods that I have tried:
    1. I followed this YouTube tutorial. I insert the image in signature editor. The location of the image is at my Desktop. Save and close.
I insert the signature in a new email. The resulting image is large and appears according to its original dimensions in my signature. So I resize the image in the inserted email signature, copy that resized image, then paste it in the signature
editor. The resized image will appear, with reduced dimensions. I save and close the signature editor.
Then, I insert the signature again in the email. The dimensions of the image are correct and they appear perfect. So I do a test by sending an email to myself. When I view the email on Outlook Client, the image looks perfect. However, on Outlook
Web App, the image is extremely large and out of place. I have been racking my brains on how to solve this problem.
    2. Same as step 1. But instead of inserting the logo from my Desktop, I inserted the logo located on the web by typing its URL in full. I used: Insert > Link to File.
However, the same problem appears. The image in the send email looks great on Outlook Client, but too large on Outlook Web App.
    3. Re-render the image to 96 dpi using IrfanView. I read from this source that Outlook will rescale any image that is not 96 dpi.
Tried Step 1 again. But image size in Outlook Web App is too large again.
    4. I followed the steps in this link to create a HTML email signature. I used an online WYSIWYG HTML editor
to generate the HTML code. I realised that altering the height and width of the image in the html changes the size of the image only in the WYSIWYG editor. I believe that Outlook Client overrides all provided image dimensions.
Thank you so much for your help!

    Hi Joy,
    Try this.
Compose the signature in Outlook, insert the original image, resize it to the correct size, by dragging the image using mouse.
Compress using inbuilt Outlook tool, this should not degrade the quality of the image much.
Click the picture or pictures that you want to change the resolution for.
Under Picture Tools, on the Format tab, in the
    Adjust group, click Compress Pictures.
If you do not see the Picture Tools and Format tabs, make sure that you selected a picture. You may have to double-click the picture to select it and open the
    Format tab.
To change the resolution for the selected pictures only and not all of the pictures in the document, select the
Apply only to this picture check box.
Under Target output, click the resolution that you want.
Now, copy all and create a new Signature out of this.
Send out an email with this new signature and see if it works on OWA.
Ensure you are checking it on the same PC and the Web browser is on 100% zoom level.
In my case its appearing slightly smaller on Browser then on PC. Check if its same on different PCs as well.

    Satyajit

  • Images in email signatures bug on Reply (Mail)

    Hi,
I'm using Mail as email software.
I have some problems with email signatures, when I reply to these emails.
The signatures contained in these mails contain HTML images encoded via base_64.
If I forward the message, there's no problem with images included.
But if I reply to the message, images appear as encoded characters.
What's the problem? Do I have to change any setting ? Or do I have to adapt the image's encoding ?
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Karl,
so you tried the IMG tag and it does not work for you?
    For example
would in CDT view turn out like
Though one potential problem with this is that depending on the receiver's e-mail client it may block auto-download of external images.

  • Adding logo or image to email signature

I have added my logo (a jpeg image) to my email signature. When I send an email to someone else who is using an Apple mail program it opens up fine. However, when I send an email to someone who is using, for example, a yahoo mail account, the logo does not show up on the actual email, it shows as an attachment that must be clicked on to open.
Does anyone know how to embed an actual logo/image onto an email signature so that it will be seen in an email regardless of what type of email program they are using without having to click on it? thanks

    Jessie,
I would love to help you (and anyone else in your situation), but it seems I can't duplicate your problem. I read your post before going to work this morning, and I sent myself an email (from Mail at home to Lotus Notes at work) with a signature containing a JPEG. Notes, arguable the worst email client out there, showed the JPEG in-line.
I don't have Outlook or Outlook Express, so I cannot test those, but I'd be happy to receive an email from you so I can see what comes across. You need to send it to my work email because that's the only place I have an email client other than Mail running. The address is dkiechle followed by an @-sign followed by amadeus.com.
We can do the opposite as well: I can try to send a test email to one of the addresses that you used to see if my signature shows up with the graphics element in-line. Would be pretty instructive, I think. I can do this if you provide an address; however, I can only do it in a few hours from home as I don't have Mail here at the office.
One interesting thing to check: in Mail, there's an option to "Always send Windows-friendly attachments". Can you check if it is enabled or disabled in your configuration of Mail?

  • Company-wide email signature

How do I set up a company-wide email signature in Apple Mail? I want one common signature to reside on the server and have everyone in the company link to that common signature.

I can't find a clean answer for you.
You might use the Set-TransportRule cmdlet and one of the exception clauses to look for something in the header.  I looked at an ActiveSync-generated header from my Droid (I don't have an iPhone to try this out on) and I see this:
    Message-ID: [email protected]
    The clause:
    -ExceptIfHeaderMatchesPatterns "Message-ID:\s(\S|\s)*email.android.com"
should exclude messages sent from Droids.  Of course, I can't say that it'll exclude all of them so you'll have to experiment and use trial and error.

  • New document: How to avoid known PDF email attachment problems

Have you ever had problems with PDF attachments sent from Adobe Reader for iOS using Share > E-mail Document?
You may find this document useful to avoid the problems.
How to avoid known PDF email attachment problems
Please let us know if you have encountered different types of problems with PDF attachments.  We can look for solutions or workarounds for you.

Unfortunately, we (Adobe Reader mobile team) do not know if/when Apple will fix the attachment problems (software defects) in Apple Mail.
In particular, the attachment problem with Microsoft Outlook (See Problem #2 in How to avoid known PDF email attachment problems) appears to be a long-standing defect that has been known for years.  However, Apple has not provided any fix for Apple Mail yet.
Adobe Reader for iOS merely launches Apple Mail (the default mail app on iOS) to send a PDF document as an attachment.  Adobe Reader has no control over whether or not to embed a preview image of an attachment in the body of an email message, which is known to cause the problem with Microsoft Outlook (on the receiving side).  The same problem happens when you send a single-page PDF document as an attachment along with an email signature from Apple iBooks on iOS.
For now, all iPad/iPhone users can do is to avoid the problems by using the workarounds that are described in How to avoid known PDF email attachment problems.
When new and different problems with PDF attachments are reported by Adobe Reader for iOS users, we will update the document above.
    Sorry for the inconvenience.
