My mail application for 2 email addresses (optimum through Cablevision) takes up too much memory (6.1GB), and I often do not have enough memory to download an update. I have very few kept emails and delete even trash and sent. All my other apps are under 1 GB. I know I can download updates through the computer, but I would like to know why my emails take up such a huge chunk of my storage.

Can you tell us exactly what the "almost full" message says? Is it referring to your mailbox (ie, email server space), or your hard drive?
If your email server is almost full, you can store folders and messages on your Mac. In Mail, go to the Mailbox menu, click New Mailbox, and choose the location "On My Mac". Then drag folders into that new mailbox to move them to your local computer, and off the email server.
If your hard drive is full, this won't help, and you need a different approach.
What version of OS X are you running? It helps us for you to put that information into your profile, since there are big differences between versions of OS X.

My iPad showed a message asking if I wanted to upgrade my email space to 10 mb. I clicked on no (only two choices yes/no) but ever since, every time I go on email, it shows again and takes about ten hits on the 'No' button to get rid of it. Can anyone help me please?

It sounds like you're running out of storage space in iCloud and being prompted to add storage on the cloud. The following Knowledge Base article explains how to manage things to free up space again if you don't want to upgrade:

Since Mail is what is generating the prompt at this point, the following may be most applicable:
Mail
You can free up additional iCloud Storage space at any time by deleting email messages from your iCloud email account. You can also move email messages from your iOS device to the local folders on your Mac or PC, where they no longer count against your iCloud Storage. For more information, read how to archive or make copies of your iCloud data (see "Mail & Notes" section).
Follow the steps below to delete messages from your account, and remember that messages with large attachments will free up more space than simple text emails.

If your iOS device is configured to access iCloud email, you can delete messages from any mailbox, and then empty the Trash to free up space. Swipe your finger to the left across any message to delete it. How to add hyperlink to file path of pdf when creating email using the email submit button?
I have a form with an e-mail submit button that opens an outlook email with the .pdf file as an attachmnet, and addressed to the e-mail addresses i put in tthe address field.
What we are trying to abvoid is sending a bunch of attchement to numerous people, clogging up email space/server space.
What we would like is not to have the .pdf attched, but rather in the body of the email have a hyperlink to the path of the document. Can this be done, and if so can anyone give me some guidance.

The path that will be inserted is a so-called "device-independent path", though, so they may not be able to use it directly.
It's possible to convert it to a "normal" file path, but that is a more complex scripting task. -
I'm still undecided on the usefulness of Spaces but I'm giving it a shot.
I assigned my 4 main apps, each to a different Space. When each app has at least one open window I can use the Control/arrow keys to shift through the Spaces & return to the one I want. However, if any of the apps do not have an open window & you return to that space the toolbar for that Space's app do not show up, you only see the FInder. You have to go to the dock & pull it back up as if it had been hidden.
Am I missing something or is this what's supposed to happen? If this is intentional it's a really poor design.

Say I'm using Excel, I finish the proposal I'm working on, print it & close the spreadsheet leaving no other Excel files open. I then switch to my email Space to send the proposal to my client. I then switch back to the Excel space to work on the next job but guess what? Excel isn't in that space anymore so I have to go down to the dock & unhide it. It just seems clumsy & very poorly thought out to me.
I frequently have apps running but without an open window at any certain time. My CAD program takes forever to launch so I let it run all the time so when I want to open a drawing it pops up in 2 seconds. -
Not a big deal, but I noticed since SL that a couple of my programs are not sticking to their assigned "Space."
For example, both ICal and Mail are assigned to space one, but they keep going over to Space two. The assignments are still on Space One (and I am not moving them over manually).
Any ideas?
Thanks,My experience with the problem being described in some of the posts is as follows:
Opening a Pages document from the Finder window (Pages is assigned to space 5. Finder window in this example is in space 1)
1. If Pages is not open - double-clicking the document will open Pages, move me to space 5, and display the document (as expected).
2. If Pages is open - double-clicking (alt-click Open With) the document will open the document in my current space (space 1 in this example) - not expected at all.
Another issue, even more odd/annoying:
This has to do with dialog windows. ex. PhotoShop (space 2), DreamWeaver (space 1). Attempting to change hexadecimal code in DreamWeaver file to match a PhotoShop color. Open the color picker in PhotoShop -> copy the hex-code (color picker still open) -> switch to space 1 via keyboard -> here's the strangeness.
Sometimes - clicking on the DreamWeaver document will send me back to space 2 automatically: at which point I cannot close/select the color picker window - unless I enter expose and come out of it - even then, sometimes clicking on the color picker results in flipping back to space 1 - at which point entering spaces view (where all spaces are visible) and selecting space 2 usually fixes the issue).
Other times - I can edit the DreamWeaver document just fine, but when I go back to PhotoShop I still have to enter expose and come out of it to close the color picker (see above).
Another example would be pasting things from eMail (space 4) into a web browser (space 1). If you're familiar with drop-in menus to login to a server which requires username and password (not a web form - but a dialog box) you might be able to try this yourself:
Opening the eMail from Mail. Select the desired text -> command+c -> keyboard shortcut (option+arrow up - for this example) -> navigate to website with dialog -> set username field active -> command+v -> option+arrow down (space 4) -> select new text -> command+c -> option+arrow up (space 1), dialog box is still open, make password field active -> automatically get shifted back to space 4.
Again, this is a bit more of a hassle (because I have dialog boxes open in a lot of programs and copy and paste between applications & spaces a lot), but the other issue would probably be easier to isolate and fix.

Is there any way to retrieve them from iCloud? Or does it it only archive mails that use those stupido icloud mails addresses?
S*it. Lost all my customers emails and info from 5 years.... Thought it backed those up. Wonder why it deleted one account mails yesterday from both of my idevices. Rest are intact.
And have limited email space on my emails so uses pop3 and it deletes from server. Only about 5x200mb there *sigh* -
Email Usage not reducing after deletion
Hello. I am having space issues on my iPhone 4s. I have 3 POP email accounts set up and had several gb showing up under Settings, General, Usage Mail.
I 1st deleted all the emails from each Inbox and also went into each email account and selected all the emails in the Trash and deleted them and no change in the emails Usage.
Only after I deleted each email account off the phone and re-installed it, did I get me space back. It has been a week now and I am back up to 322mb (see attached) even after I have been clearing out all emails at the end of each day.
Does anyone know how to clear off email space or is there some app to purge the Mail on the iPhone 4s?Hi Sandip,

I have 1.6 gb of space today then after 1 hr i was left with 80 kb. So i moved some files to a windows pc that I am mapped to. I then had 1 gb of free space then all of the sudden as the hours went by the space kept moving smaller. I did get some emails via entourage but not 1 gb of email space. I really don't understand whats taking up the space. Any ideas?

You may have purchased a new ePrint capable printer and find yourself wanting to print to it without having to create an email.
Well, there is a way to simulate a traditional printing experience with ePrint from a notebook (or other mobile computer).
HP has the ePrint Mobile Driver which installs and behaves similar to a traditional printer, but it uses ePrint over the Internet to print. In other words, you could be at the office and print to your home printer with relative ease without occupying email space to be sending it.
To get the ePrint Mobile Driver, simply sign in to your www.eprintcenter.com account and click on the download link on the right side towards the bottom of the news column. Once there, click on your operating system to get the correct version.
A manual for the ePrint can be found here. This will detail how to install the mobile driver and register the printer to it.

Error when opening the PDF attachment
Hi,
We are able to successfully send the PDF attachment to external email id from SAP SCRIPT:
but when we are opening the PDF attachment we are getting the following error:
"Adobe Reader could not open because it is not either a supported file type or the file has been damaged ..etc.."
Is any logic need to write for the above or any parameters are missing .

Ok so everytime i click on a VideoFX(adding effescts to clips) in preview mode the mini screen to the left turns all white but I can see a little bit of picture.I can also see on the screen in white the other effect options on the mini preview screen
