Email thread by sender

Question

Some genius appears to have decided that (unlike almost every other email system... you know, the useful ones) emails should be threaded by "subject" rather than the reply chain of a particular message.  This means that all emails with the same "subject" line are clumped together.  So when I send out invitations to interviews with the subject "interview shceduling" I get a "thread" that is utterly useless.  How can I get ipad mail to do something sensible like thread by sender.  I'm hoping the answer isn't "use gmail".  <hold.breath>
PS - Apple... hello, Apple.  You have an ipad 3 now.  How about including it in the "Product" dropdown?

Hence the question above:

(yes, I neglected to add the ? - mea culpa, but it didn't seem all that hard to parse, albeit prescripted with my description of the underlying issue... ok, my rant regarding the underlying issue)
I assumed someone in the community might have found a solution to the weird decision to thread by subject line. Do you have a solution?

I see no dropdown for "the New iPad" either (colloquially referred to as iPad 3 by pretty near the entire human race, best I can tell).  Perhaps I should be looking for Apple's supposedly preferred "iPad HD"... oh, but that doesn't exist in the dropdown either.  Hmmm.  Nope, no iPad 3rd generation either.  Granted, the gripe isn't terribly apropos here, but it still stands - just in the wrong place.
