Email to mobile cell phone addr- returned -WAP encoding error

My email to a cell phone url is being returned by web master (I think) and says: WAP encoding error.
I can't find anything about wap encoding error on Thunderbird support or on the Internet .
Can somebody help me? Cell phone person uses Verizon for email and I use Vista Home. My email to this address always used to work properly. Would my settings be wrong or could something change them unbeknowns to me?
Please help.
Thank you.

Christl and Matt,
Thanks for your help. My Mobile user checked her settings and all were okay. However, I checked my own settings and found when I set them to send email in "plain text" that my messages were sent and worked without any returned email!
I had tried that UTF-8 and it worked for one time only as I recall. I think that setting would not remain and went back to Western encoding. Not sure of this tech stuff though!
In any event my email is working just fine now and I do appreciate you guys helping me out. Seems to me that such an important problem should be included in Verizon's Help or highlighted somewhere for an easier find for any future same thunderbird problems. Surely thunderbird support should hilight it and paste it all over their help pages!
Thanks again to all.
Jimee.

  • Sending emails from my cell phone

    Is anyone experiencing issues sending emails through their cell?  Since I check my emails quite often on my cell phone, LG G2, I recently (about a month or two) have run into an issue that when I reply it sits in the Outbox and then eventually fails.  I keep resending and I can eventually get it to send.  I am having this problem from home and work, but I know I was always able to send from both locations in the past.  Has Verizon changed something?  It's very frustrating because as I said I do use my phone frequently for my email correspondence.  Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Are you perhaps a Yahoo email users?  For such the userid now requires @verizon.net be added to it.  This is not true for those not using the Yahoo email interface.
    Othewise just check your email settings
    Server settings/ incoming settings
    Email address: [email protected]
    username: xxxxx (yahoo users use [email protected])
    password: yyyyy
    pop3 server: pop.verizon.net  (yahoo users use incoming.yahoo.verizon.net)
    security type: SSL
    port: 995
    delete email from server:  (your choice) i have mine set to when deleted from phone.
    Server setting/outgoing settings
    SMTP server: smtp.verizon.net (yahoo users use outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net)

  • Send email to a cell phone

    I need help with my application. I am sending a regular mail using an SMTP server to a cell phone using a destination email like [email protected] for example.
    My message gets to the cell phone successfully, but not formatted properly:
    In my cell phone Inbox category I see some number:
    502
    and the message looks like this:
    [email protected]/Subject line/Message body
    What I want to see is:
    [email protected] in the inbox folder
    and the message should not contain the sender:
    Subject line/Message body
    I now this is possible to do because it works when I send the message from yahoo or gmail for example, but my code doesn't do it right.
    Any help is apreciated.

    You probably need to know more about how your phone software is
    interpreting the messages for display. If you just want to send a message
    without a Subject, that's easy to do. But if your phone software expects
    the message to be formatted in a particular way, or the Subject to appear
    in a particular way, you're going to have to ask the phone software vendor,
    or figure it out by trial and error.

    MY cell phone number shows up in the messages settings but it will not let me use my cell number it's not even highlighted like my email address

  • Cisco ASA5520 Blocks email to/from Cell Phones

    Hi,
      I have erecently installed a Meraki (Now Cisco) Wireless Access Solution for my company. I have configured 2 SSID's, one for Wiress access to our LAN and the other for Guest access to the Internet only. These appear to work quite well, however some users are complaining that the email clients on their cell phones do not work when using this Wireless System. Web Mail Apps work fine however.
    Internet Access is via our Cisco ASA5520 and I strongly suspect this is the culprit. I have opened all ports associated with cell phones but still it does not work. Has anyone seen this kind of thing before?
    Pete

    Hello Peter,
    In order to determine if the problem is related to the FW you will need to take captures of the traffic when a client attempts to send email
    Here is the link about how to use captures on the asa
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6120/products_tech_note09186a0080a9edd6.shtml
    With that we will be able to determine if the packets are getting stucked somewhere else or if this is an ASA problem,
    Cheers,

  • How to get emails on your cell phone?

    Is it possible to have my emails automatically set-up to send to my phone as well? I've read you can do this with Outlook and thought maybe I could set up Apple Mail to do this?

    If you mean you want to receive your e-mail messages on your cellphone as text messages, it should be possible to do this, but remember that an SMS text message is limited to 160 characters.
    Each cellular carrier maintains its own "mail to SMS gateway" - for example, the ATT gateway address is [email protected]
    For other carriers, see
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Listof_carriers_providing_SMStransit
    So if your cell carrier is ATT Wireless and your cell number is 987-654-3210, you would set up the e-mail forwarding address as [email protected]
    With regard to automatic forwarding of incoming e-mails, I don't normally use Mail.app, but its help section contains the following:
    To automatically forward messages:
    Choose Mail > Preferences, and then click Rules.
    Click Add Rule and type a descriptive name for the rule.
    Set the conditions necessary for the rule to apply to a message.
    Choose Forward Message from the “Perform the following actions” pop-up menu.
    Enter the email address where you want the messages forwarded.
    Click Message and enter the text you want to appear, along with the text of the original message, in the forwarded message.

  • Need to add mobile (cell) phone in corporate directory via LDAP

    Hello All
    Can I just start by saying that I am not a developer so expect some dumb questions to follow.
    We have cucm 6.1 and am using ldap sync to AD. The problem is that we would like to query the mobile phone field within AD and present it on the phone when the directory button is pressed.
    Is this possible ?
    From what I have read in the forums I have to create another directory ???
    I have downloaded the sdk 4.1 and tried to copy the asp files from the following directory C:\CiscoIPServices\ASP\ldap
    I have replaced the variables
    var s = new ActiveXObject("LDAPSEARCH.LDAPSearchList");
    s.server = "ldap.cisco.com";
    s.searchbase = "ou=people,o=cisco.com";
    with
    var s = new ActiveXObject("LDAPSEARCH.LDAPSearchList");
    s.server = "demounity.demo.voyager.net.uk";
    s.searchbase = "ou=users,ou=demo,dc=demo,dc=voyager,dc=net,dc=uk";
    s.SetOutputTitle("ActiveX Directory Search", 45);
    s.SetOutputPrompt("Records %s to %e of total %c", 45);
    s.AddReturnAttr("givenName,sn","Name","%1,%2", 20);
    s.AddreturnAttr("telephonenumber","Telephone","%1", 20);
    s.AddreturnAttr("mobile","Mobile","%1", 20);
    s.Addreturnattr("mail","Email","%1", 20);
    s.AddSortingAttr("telephonenumber", 1);
    s.SearchByEmail(email);
    I made these changes to all the asp files and referenced them all in a file called test_main.asp. Which is similar to the ASP_main.asp.
    I have run the regsvr32 LDAPSearch.dll and have added the following url to the phones directory url field ttp://192.168.9.101/CiscoIPServices/ldap/test_main.asp. Where 192.168.9.101 is my AD and IIS server (demounity.demo).
    The phone only display the Missed, received and places calls when I press the directory button. The corporate directory is missing.
    Are there any steps that I am missing or am I barking up the wrong tree all together
    to achieve what I need to ?
    I have also configured the CiscoUrlproxy for what reason I don't really understand.
    Thanks
    Feisal

    Since the CCM is a black box now, unless you pull out a HD and mount it on another Linux box where you have full access, or booting from a Linux boot CD there's no way to access the file system.
    However, you posted an ASP sample so I'm not sure if a jsp (java server page) would help you a lot - there's also no way of telling how much logic will be in the jsp page and how much logic will be behind in a compiled class - e.g. my own directories only have very basic logic (reading input, writing output, limit the number of results per page) and everything else is done in a bunch of jar files - so using them would only work if you can restrict yourself to doing exactly what my frontend page does.

  • Use Address Book contact pictures on other mobile / cell phones

    Hi,
    Unlike most people I'm going to wait a while before getting an iPhone, so is there a way of getting the pictures of your contacts onto another phone?
    I have a Sony Ericsson k800i. I have found the pictures under Library/Apllication Support/Address Book/Pictures. I have copied them to a folder on my desktop. I have added a .jpg extension to all images and even renamed them to something simpler.
    I then transfered this folder to my phone expecting to be able to see the images on the phone, but no, the phone recognises them as pictures but they don't show, the only image that appears is the Apple logo that came in the address book.
    What's going on? I can see the images in the folder on the desktop but not on the phone, does the phone's images have to be a certain size?
    Any help would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Iestyn

    There was another thread on this, and I posted incorrect advice on it, but now I can't find the thread.  Someone pointed out my error, but it was so late at night when I saw it, I didn't respond at the time - so whoever you were - yes, you were right!
    Yes, I agree with you, doesn't seem to work as well as on, for example, my old N80.
    I haven't found a solution either.
    Not that that helps you, of course, but at least you know you are not missing something - or conversely, several of us are missing something!

  • Email issue - not downloading to Outlook and email on cell phone not working

    Anyone know what is causing this? Not working since 1030AM today.
    No verizon email downloading to MS Outlook and cant send out emails on my cell phone (Verizon network)? When will this be corrected?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    No, the issue resolved itself. This happens every once in a while and lasts for 30 min to an hour , then it works again.  I get that strange error code message from Outlook Express with the 0x000  etc.  No one knows why.  Just one of those things you have to deal with.  Next time i wont waste time calling and sitting on hold for hours and hours.  Not worth it.

  • Printing photo from email by way of cell phone. Need to print on photo paper

    New to forum and new to HP Printer (HP ENVY 7640). My question is, if my printer is loaded with both plain paper and photo paper, it automatically defaults to the plain paper when trying to print photos, by email from my cell phone. Do I need to remove the plain paper from my printer's tray in order to get it to print on the photo paper?

    Hi, Looks like a Yes, you need to remove normal papers. I ran few tests on my loan Envy 7640 printer and it knows the size of photopaper I put in (from the printer screen) but it ONLY prints 4x6. Hope this answer your question. Regards.

  • Very poor customer service email received back on my cell phone!

    I want to complain about whoever responds to questions you post on the forum. I won't tell you the "fake"name. She sent me one email and said I sent my questions to the wrong place. I replied and told her I didn't know. Said I should have used the forum. I replied again to her email on my cell phone and said I was sorry didn't know where forum was and that she had not answered any of my questions. She immediately replied, I'm NOT INTERESTED IN THESE EMAILS ANYMORE, OR WANT TO CHANGE HOW OFTEN THEY COME? UPDATE YOUR EMAIL PREFERENCES.....OTHERWORDS "YOURSELF".
    You all are there to HELP, at least I thought so. I am very frustrated and disappointed in this reply. I am going to report this to a manager if I have to!
    I replied to her, thank you for not HELPING me (just to kind of be nice about it).
    This is totally uncalled for....Verizon needs to shape up or you are going to lose a lot of customers!!!!!
    Dianne

    Brian68, Thank you for your reply. But that is because most have a 2 year contract and can't afford to go elsewhere. I'm sorry for being so firm, but I think Customer Support is a thing of the past. Thank you anyway. Hope you have a wonderful day! Dianne

Their churn rate for the 2nd quarter of 2012 which ended on Jun 30th was 0.84%. Which means 99.16% of the customers they had on March 31st 2012 were still with them on June 30th 2012.

  • Hey i was wondering if you could change your iChat account name to your cell phone number ?

    Is there a way to change it from your email to a cell phone number?

    HI,
    I am not entirely sure what you are trying to achieve.
    AIM accounts (Screen Names) can be linked to some extent to Mobile/Cell phone
    https://settings.aim.com/  You need to Log in here to see more info in the Mobile setting
    You can also Send SMS to US based phones (on Carriers that support this)
    http://www.aim.com/  Scroll down the page a little.
    Basically an US based Cell Phone Number can be added As If it is a Buddy.  (Technically the Computer has to be set to the US to see the menu items in some version of iChat).
    My the time you update to Mountain Lion then the Messages app has iMessages added to what iChat can do.
    The iMessages account can link and then sync iMessages sent to an iPhone Number  and /or and Apple ID.
    It will work on the Mac version of Messages meaning you can Send If you were the iPhone (number)  and also receive iMessages sent to the iPhone number)
    The same is true on the iPhone it can Receive and Send from both.
    I chat can not do this last item.
    There is no way that I now of to "Spoof" a phone number as the Screen Name  other than th Mobile Link in the first item I linked you to.
