Email View Settings Help

I have had problems with outlook 2013 since Aug or Sept of 2014.
Windows 8 (8.1) I have had outlook 2013 on my work desktop windows 8.1 computer since September 2014. How do I view my new inbox and sent messages? I view the received messages as popups but after I view the email I can't find them again.
My outbox is empty. The newest message I have in my inbox is from 9/23/2014 even though I have received several messages today as popups, none are in my inbox folder. I have sent emailed myself a few test emails today, I can't find any of the
received or sent emails from me or anyone else. I have tried typing the senders name and email addresses in the search bar at the top of the page, that too has been unsuccessful. Please Help! I correspond with my customers via email all through the
day.
Right now I am using my service providers web based email account instead of using Outlook 2013.
Your assistance/ advice would be appreciated

Hi,
Several suggestions on this issue:
1. Run Scanpst.exe to repair the possible damaged data file(.ost or .pst).
2. Run Outlook with the switch "outlook.exe /cleanviews".
3. Check if you have AutoArchive setup in Outlook.

  • Ipad Email outgoing settings help needed (URGENT!)

    Hi,
    I wonder if you can help me. I'm currently at my Grandparents and have realised that I am completely unable to send emails from my Talk Talk email accounts. I had previously resigned myself to suffering this fate with this talk talk email as it didn't work at home either but I recently found out the plusnet relay settings so am using it again. Now, my Grandparents where I'm staying have BT it it doesn't send.
    So, I have gone into my Granddad's account to had my email aprroved and verified, and have set up the following server settings under other SMTP servers;
    Host Name- Mail.btinternet.com
    User name- MY GRANDDAD'S EMAIL
    Password- His password
    SSL on
    Authentication= password
    Port= 465
    And turned this new server on, yet when I go to send something it tells me the receipents email was rejected by the server an it is placed in the outbox. I must be doing something wrong- please help! Bt's help is no help as it tells me to call an expensive line!
    Thanks,
    -S Bullock
    P.S. If I set this up correctly, would this mean that when I am attatched to lets say my Uncles BT internet I would still be able to send emails using my Granddad's verified account?

  • Layered 3D object with different view settings: Help!

    I need to do what I'd think is a fairly simple A3D project where I need to display an object with 3 0r 4 embedded layers (just think of it as a box in a box in a box for now) What I need to do is have a matrix of radio buttons (3x4) which simply carry the following functions for each layer. The first column button would display the object solid, the second button column would display the object transparent, and the third column would turn the object off....object being you can inspect the layers in different modes. I am fairly adept at 3D but this has me a bit gun-shy. Could anyone get me started or point out materials which would help me achieve this?
    Thanks in advance

    In the javascript for each of the buttons,
    do this
    //Get the 3D context object (put in the page number
    //that the 3D annotation is on
    var context = getAnnots3D(*Page Number*)[0].context3D;
    //Change X to be either 1 (on), 0.5 (Transparent), or 0 (invisible)
    context.scene.meshes.getByName("NameOfMesh").opacity = X;
    You could also do .visible = false;
    Note: You would have then set visible = true in both of the other cases.

  • I am trying to find "compatibility view settings" in order to add a website that I need to use for work. PLEASE HELP!

    I received a "how to" sheet of how to be able to view this website but it wants me to download Internet Explorer (excuse me while i say yuck!)...
    So the directions state: Under "Tools" click on "compatibility view settings". Where is says "add this website" write in the website and then click add and close. Log off and reboot.
    I live on Mozilla on all my devices. I recommend it to anyone who has not been introduced yet. I cringe to think of being forced to use internet explorer!!!
    Thank you for all you do!!!

    hello ETRU, "compatibility view" is a concept of internet explorer that other browsers do not have. do you have any particular problem viewing it with firefox?

  • Quickly switch view settings within Outlook

    I am searching for an option to save all of outlook's view settings (including the Navigation Pane, To-Do Pane, Ribbon, emails, calendar etc.) to a file, so that several 'profiles' can be set up to be chosen depending on what size of screen is being used.
    e.g. when a laptop is connected to a 1920x1080 monitor in the office a lot more can be on display than when the built-in monitor is being used (on the train, for example).  Is there a built-in functionality, or an add-in that will do this?

    No, it's not possible to save all the view settings in one "profile". However, we can do it separately.
    For the emails and calendar views, please refer:
    http://www.msoutlook.info/question/51
    For the Ribbon, I haven't found a convenient way to change the view settings at once. A little complex way is:
    Export or import a customized ribbon

  • When I open TB, under "Accounts", it only shows the option "Create a new account". Option: "View settings for this account" is NOT shown.

    When I open TB, I no longer see any information about the TB account I've used for years. Instead, the main menu shows only "Accounts" -- "Create a new account - Email, Chat, Newsgroups, Feeds". Option: "View settings for this account" is NOT shown.
    Also the main menu does NOT show "Email - Read messages, Write a New Message" or "Advanced features", etc..
    The actual emails pertaining to the TB account I've used for years are still present under the "Users --> xxxxyyyy --> AppData --> Roaming --> Thunderbird' folder.

  • Problems with Folder view settings and file association in Windows 8.1

    My Windows 8.1 64 bit started forgetting the view settings from a folder.So if I go in a folder and I set it to List-View for example,whenever
    I close that folder and I reopen it the view is set automatically to Details view.And this applies to every folder in my computer except Desktop.It drives me crazy,especially in my pictures folders.
    Also with this problem another one came.I can't set a program to open some files,so the file associations for some files is broken.For example
    i can't set qTorrent to open torrent files.It just won't open them and the files apear as white documents just like I hadn't had a Torrent program installed already.I find it weird that both problems appeared together.
    I previously had to reinstall windows on my machine,because of this problems.It worked normal at the begging,but today these problems appeared
    again.
    I tried scanning SFC
    Scan with no result.
    I hope I will get a fix here.
    Thanks.
    Update:I also just discovered that Metro apps are not working...what the heck its wrong with my windows.

    Hey thanks for the reply ,but I got a fix for everything.Apparently the problem is in the registry.
    So If the problem began recently, you can try this to fix it :
    Press Windows Key + R to show the Run box, type RSTRUI and press enter.
    Choose a recent date and time from before the problem beginning (such as the day before yesterday) and click Next.
    The system will restore registry settings from that day, and restart.
    If you do this however,all the programs you had installed after the restore point date will
    be DELETED   (same with any settings changes made before that date),so be sure to backup things.Hope this will help someone someday. .

  • Outlook view settings not saved

    I have one user who looses all View settings when restarting Outlook. Occasionally they will save, but it is very rare. Setting the Reading Pane to Off is one good example of a setting that does not save.
    The creation of new Views is also not saved. After restarting Outlook, the new View does not appear in Manage All Views.
    I have tried creating a new Outlook profile and I'm told that Office 2013 C2R has been re-installed since this problem started.
    Outlook 2013 Click-To-Run via an Office 365 E3 subscription. Exchange Online mailbox. Windows 7 Pro 32-bit.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
    Basically, Outlook view settings are stored in the default data file. If the data file is corrupt or recreated every time Outlook restarts, the view settings may be not saved.
    Does the user use Outlook with Cached Exchange mode enabled? If so, please go to
    C:\Users\%username%\Documents\Outlook Files and check if you have multiple .ost files in the folder.
    In addition, you may try to switch to turn off Cached Exchange mode and then test this issue again.
    Please let me know the result.

  • VIEW settings not saved in FINDER

    Lately my FINDER for viewing files does not save the settings I check in the VIEW menu. It states in the MAC HELP: "If you choose icon or list view, the Finder saves your view settings. The next time you open the window you will see the same view settings you chose previously." After I turn off the computer, the next time I restart it the settings are lost. I have updated the "Permissions" in the Disk Utility but it did not help. Do you have any other suggestions?

    I opened your "User Tip", Scott, and on the second page it gives information about the VIEW settings preferences. The NOTE in red letters seemed to have been my problem. It states "do not at any time use the"apply to all windows" option in VIEW OPTIONS and make sure this button is disabled. Somehow mine was enabled. I disabled it, logged out, logged in again, restarted my machine, the VIEW SETTINGS held. I then shut the computer down and when I restarted it today, all VIEW SETTINGS held. Thanks for the tip.

  • Restore view settings when reopening document

    Hi
    I have checked the 'restore view settings when reopening document' in the preferences as I was under the impression that this would restore the document to the last page I was reading when I closed the reader. However, it doesn't, it always opens the doc at the first page.
    Has anyone else seen this issue? How do I fix it?
    I am running Win 7 64-bit, I've tried running reader as administrator but that makes no difference.
    Thanks
    Matt

    Hey fellas!!
                   I noticed the same issue while reading a novel.So,posted a query and came across your disscussion.Some of my pdfs were doing fine but some were not.I compared the document properties of both the type.Limitations on a pdfs display depend on the producer.If you a viewing a pdf produced by adobe in Adobe reader then it'll work optimally.In case it's not working,then check out the producer and use a compatible reader.
    e.g : My problematic pdf was created using Foxit .Fortunately I had the unused foxit software in my system for some time!I Installed it today and it worked like a charm.Easily available through google search and loads faster then adobe reader!
    P.S.  Looks like our queries have been resolved.But I would love to know of a way to open such files in adobe reader.(Thogh I dont think adobe will take responsibility for some  me know alternative producer).So if you happen to find a resolution just let me know here : [email protected]

  • Acrobat 9 Ingores Document Initial View Settings

    I've created a PDF from InDesign. I set Initial View Settings for the document in Acrobat 9. When I open the document in A9, the Initial View Settings are ignored. I then open the same document in A8 and it opens fine. I'm guessing there is a global setting in the A9 preferences, but I can't seem to find one that works. Please help.

    I apply the Initial View settings as I first create the PDF.
    I use File... Properties... Initial View.
    Depending on the length of the document, I make the first setting Page Only, Pages Panel and Page (most often), or Bookmarks and Page (if it is a long report and I am making bookmarks).
    I make Page Layout be Single Page.
    And I check Hide Tool Bars in the last group. (All commands are still available with menus, with much less real estate taken up by tall toolbars.)
    Then I save and close the document. Then I re-open it to make sure it looks as I intended.
    On my old computer, that always worked great and made a professional looking PDF.
    But when I downloaded the same product onto my new computer, this no longer works.
    I am using a workaround and hoping that when I upgrade on the new computer that the later version will work.

  • How to control IE10's "Compatibility View settings" via Group Policy

    First
    of all thanks for taking the time to read this.  I must let you know that I have limited experience with Group Policy so here it goes...
    Domain Controllers are 2008 R2 Datacenter and client computers are Win7 Pro with IE10
    I need to add several sites to the "Compatibility View settings" in IE10 and have these pushed out via Group Policy.
    I followed this to enable the "Use Policy List of Internet Explorer 7 sites:"
    Use
    Policy List of Internet Explorer 7 sites
    I even added the settings to both User Configuration as well as Computer Configuration.  However the computers on the domain wouldn't show these sites in
    IE even after forcing a GP update (gpupdate /force)
    Yes I did use top level domain names.
    Next I installed the Administrative Templates for Windows Internet Explorer 10 on the DC:
    Administrative Templates for Windows Internet Explorer 10
    this gave me an Inetres.adm file while I put in the same location as my other .adm files that Group Policy Manager sees (located at C:\Windows\SYSVOL\domain\Policies\{31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}\Adm)
    I do see a bunch of .ADMX files located at C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions
    on the DC.  I also see a lot of .ADML files located at C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions\en-US.
    Where is my Central Store located that my Group Policy references?  How do I know what location GP is reading from?
    Now I installed the Administrative Templates (ADMX) for Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 from here:
    Administrative Templates (ADMX) for Windows Server 2008 R2 and
    Windows 7
    This gave me a "Win7-2008R2-admx.msi" package that I installed.  I took the defaults and extracted contents to:
    C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions\Server 2008 Win7\PolicyDefinitions
    Are all of these .ADMX files supposed to be placed into my Central Store?
    If I mouse-over "Administrative Templates" in Group Policy Manager is says that the policy definitions are retrieved from the local machine.
    I then right-clicked on top of "Administrative
    Templates" in Group Policy Manager and highlighted Inetres and selected Delete.
    While in Add/Remove Templates I click on Add and it defaults to looking for "Policy Templates" and will not let me select and .ADM/.ADML/.ADMX files.
    What am I doing wrong here?
    How do I know that I'm using the most recent Inetres file?
    How do I know which file Group Policy Manager is using to manage the IE settings that are in:
    User Configuration->Administrative Templates->Windows Components->Internet Explorer->Compatibility View->Use Policy List of Internet
    Explorer 7 sites
    or
    Computer Configuration->Administrative Templates->Windows Components->Internet Explorer->Compatibility View->Use Policy List of
    Internet Explorer 7 sites.
    Is there anything else you can suggest?
    Many, many thanks in advance for any response

    Hi,
    Regarding your question, usually we create a Central Store for Administrative Templates (Both .admx and .adml files), and create a folder that is named PolicyDefinitions in the following location:
    \\FQDN\SYSVOL\FQDN\policies. The .adml files on the Windows computer
    are stored in a language-specific folder. For example, English (United States) .adml files are stored in a folder that is named "en-US." When you have copied all .admx and .adml files, the PolicyDefinitions folder on the domain controller should contain the
    .admx files and one or more folders that contain language-specific .adml files.
    Please refer to the following articles. You will get more helpful details about the Central Store for Group Policy Administrative Template files.
    How to create the Central Store for Group Policy Administrative Template files in Windows Vista
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929841
    Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2 and the Group Policy Central Store
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/askds/archive/2009/12/09/windows-7-windows-server-2008-r2-and-the-group-policy-central-store.aspx
    Based on your description, I understand you enable the setting “Use Policy List of Internet Explorer 7 sites”. However, didn’t show any sites in IE in client even after forcing a GP update
    (gpupdate /force). Please use command “gpresult” in clients to collect the GPOs, and then check whether the GPO contain the setting “Use Policy List of Internet Explorer 7 sites” was applied to clients or wasn’t.
    In addition, you also can change the related setting by using registry directly.
    Follow the path of the registry:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER->Software->Policies->Microsoft->Internet Explorer->BrowserEmulation->PolicyList. (Create registry folders
    manually if not present)
    Right Click
    PolicyList ->New->String Value->Enter the name of the website. (Both under ‘Name’ and ‘Data’. For example,
    Value name: example.com Value data: example.com)
    There is a similar question, please read as a reference.
    Add manually URL on Compatibility View List in IE10

  • Folder 'View' settings via PowerShell?

    I have a need to copy a folder and make sure it is showing Medium Icon view. I had hoped that the Medium Icon setting was just folder metadata and would copy with the folder, but that seems not to be the case. So now I am trying to figure out where this
    info is stored, and how to modify the setting with PowerShell. Given that the manual approach is not to right click on the folder, but within the folder, I am stumped in how to proceed.
    Gordon

    There's a tool called ShellBagsFolder which can be used to determine which registry key contains the folder view settings, but I strongly suspect this would be different for each computer.  There are a series of GUIDs that are also associated with the
    folder (there's no human readable string that has the folder path) which you might be able to search for and find the hook between the folder path and the registry key so you don't need the third party utility as part of your script.
    http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shell_bags_view.html
    If you download and install it and run it, you can search through the list of folders that will be displayed, right-click on it, and select Open Slot Key in Registry to open Regedit to the parent key for the folder.
    I hope this post has helped!
