Email VIP list error
I am trying to add a contact to the email VIP list, however its grayed out. I read about the contact needing an email address so that it can be enabled for adding to the VIP list. After checking the contact info for a few times I am 200% sure that it does have an email address and still doesnt let me add it. please help
I had an 9.2 database already installed on my laptop. I installed the migration tool in c:\oracle\ora92\oes\migration and set ORACLE_HOME=c:\oracle\ora92.

Mail VIP list not showing "all VIPs" or useable in Smart mailboxes
Hi there,
I thought I'd give the Mail app a go again in Yosemite after abandoning it when it all went horribly wrong in Mavericks.
I can't get the VIP list to work properly though. I have VIPs and I can open the VIP list to select an individual VIP (I have about 50) but I want to click on the main VIPs label to see mails from all VIPs. Specifically, I want to limit to the view to Inbox Only, so I can see all messages from any VIP that is currently in my inbox. The problem is, no mail shows when clicking on the main VIPs label, only when I click on individual VIP names. Also, if I create a Smart mailbox, using Sender is VIP, nothing works (no mails are found). I can still select multiple individual VIPs out of the list and that will show them all, but it's a pain and just doesn't seem like the right thing to do. in iOS, tapping on the VIP inbox, lists all mails from VIPs, why not on the mac too?
Anyone else having the same problems?
As a further clue. When you click on one mail box to another, the list of mails instantly changes to show the mails in the new mailbox. This is true if you click from an individual mailbox to the 'group' one. But, if I click from any mail box (that is showing mail) to the mail VIPs group, then the mails from the previous mailbox are still shown, ie the view doesn't re-fresh. I have to click on the main VIPs tab twice to get the mail list to refresh (which then refreshes to an empty list due to the problem above).
This is driving me mad!I have worked this out for myself and fixed the problem.
It's down to a bug in Mail (or possibly Spotlight). I had a VIP with an apostrophe in her email address which Mail wasn't handling properly and it was causing the search query to fail. Removing that contact from the VIP list fixed my issue.
Technically, what's happening is that the code wasn't "escaping" this special character and that was causing a syntax error in the search query. -
I updated my ipad2 with the iso6. I then created a VIP list. My problem is all my VIP contacts disappeared from my regular contact list and I cannot access my VIP list. HELP
Yes there is a location for the outgoing smtp server password, if it is incorrect or missing it will not send mail.
On the Gmail account preference pane locate the outgoing mail server, click the blue arrows and a list will open and Edit SMTP server will show. Select this and then select gmail and advanced, it will give a location for your email address and password. -
Ios7.1.2 email server authentication error
We have a problem sending email using iMail client on a) iPad (ios7.1.2(11D257) and b) iMac (Auto updating Mavericks OS10). However, we can send email from iPad (ios7.1.1 (11D201). All three devices can receive email.
All machines use the same email account and servers. All are using the same email client. All have been working effectively for past 4 years - the problem started about 1 month ago.
Have spent "hours" with email service provider to troubleshoot the problem. Here is a list of the steps we have taken:
1) checked email servers, confirming that email accounts can both send and receive email. This included testing via a webmail client, and from a Microsoft Outlook client. In both cases the tests confirmed that email can be received AND sent via the email server.
2) setup alternate email servers, on different ports, on iPad - can always receive email but cannot send. The error message that is received is "username or password for 'mail.iinet.net.au' is incorrect"
3) deleted email accounts and rest device to wipe it clean, then started from scratch - can establish the email account, can receive email, but still get the same error message when trying to send email "username of password for 'mail.iinet.net.au' is incorrect"
4) tried alternative email client (CloudMagic, Evomail, Canonball) - not possible to connect to the email account, typical error is "unable to verify your account information"
5) tried to setup account on iPhone across mobile phone network to isolate whether problem was local WiFi - same result
The only thing that has shone any light on this was when we identified the outgoing mail server as "mailout.comhem,se" with no authentication. With this setting email would send. This could suggest a problem with the WiFi network, but it has been working perfectly well up till now, and on other WiFi networks. It also does not explain the problem with iMac from home which is directly connected to an ADSL service provided by our email service provider (no intermediary in play at all). This also means that for every new WiFi network that I use (I travel a lot) I will need to find the details of an intermediate outgoing mail server for the specific WiFi provider. It is not clear why routing through an intermediary email server overcomes the authentication error at the destination email server, unless there is some more fundamental problem at play.
The authentication error has been isolated to somewhere between the device and the server - could there be some ios7.1.2 issue at play that is causing the authentication to fail, but not when directed through an intermediary mail server?
This problem is deeply frustrating, and any help would be greatly appreciatedI haven't ran across this, but I do see that there is no SQL Instance Name in your screenshot. Try putting SQLTMS in there and then click next and see what happens. Or if you know the name of your TMS database instance, put that in there.

VIP list disappeared on iPhone 4
MY brother has an iPhone 4 which has all latest updates, but a prior VIP list was setup but now the list is not in the eMail list of boxes?
Not quite sure what you mean... But try a Reset... You will not lose any Data or Settings
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
Restart / Reset

I created my VIP list and entered an initial list of people, but now there doesn't seem to be a way to add additional people. I have gone to my VIP mail box and when I click on it it just takes me to my emails in my VIP box; there is no option to add more people.
In the list of mailboxes click right arrow to the right of VIP to configure.

Mail VIP list disappears when logging out/back in
After upgrading mid-2011 iMac to Yosemite, my Mail application's VIP list disappears when I log out and log back in. I have to rebuild it each time by selecting VIP stars in each person's email.
A little more possibly-useful information:
The system typically gets into a bad state - neither firefox nor thunderbird able to start - after the computer goes to sleep (suspend) when I close the lid. Certain updates also break it. Yesterday I updated some rpm packages without incident, but updating the flash plugin caused problems. -
Modify VIP list on iPhone 4 Mail app
iPhone 4, iOS 6
Need help on this topic. I added a few e-mails to the VIP list, but now I want to take out one. However, I don't see where I can do that.
Can someone show me how to do it? Thanks.
jfoh COME ON people! I don't buy that nobody else is trying to stop email notifications on their iphone from specific senders!!

On my MacBook Pro in the "sent" mailbox emails are listed by my email address but on my iPad the "sent" emails are listed by the sent email address. Very hard to look at the address where the message was sent to?
After upgrading to IOS 7.0.3 the problems gone.
There is no mention of this being a bug or a fix so im thinking a software glitch was the issue.
When I look at a message in my inbox and it says "To: JB Manz" - I click my name and it shows my contact info including my 4 email addresses and the address the message was addressed to is highlighted blue, others all black.
Not sure how it got fixed but it's working like it used to. -
Can't open web addresses from an email-get an ERROR message saying-no application could be found
Hi, I had the same problem. I finally figured it out. Plug in the USB cord to your ipad, but beofre plugging it into your computer make sure your ipad is not in the locked or sleep mode. Once I did this, my photos showed up and started downloading. Hope that helps you!

I have a new email address and updated my apple id/icloud with the new address. I updated on my iPhone, but i'm keep getting a pop up to enter my password with my old email address listed for iCloud/Apple id. How do I get it to go away?
Did you create a NEW Apple ID or did you change the email address for your OLD Apple ID? This will affect how you update apps in the future.
Anyway, go to Settings/iTunes&App Stores, log out, then log in with the new ID. -
Looking for an email discussion lists script.
HI! I am looking for a email discussion lists script that
works on a windows
platform. I have looked on Google but only found Mailman
which is good but
only works on UNIX/Linux. The other I found has to be
installed via a
setup.exe which is only good if you own and have direct
access to your own
server.
Does anyone out there know of a email discussion lists script
in ASP or PHP
or similar that uses an ms-access or ms-SQL database and
works on a windows
platform?

Hi,
I have a MBP 13' Late 2011 and Yosemite 10.10.2 (14C1514).
Until yesterday, I was using Garmin ConnectIQ SDK and all was working fine.
Yesterday, I've updated my system with latest security updates and Xcode updates too (Version 6.2 (6C131e)).
Since, I can't launch the ConnectIQ simulator app, I have this message in console :

I also try to download a fresh version of the connectIQ SDK and no changes.
Any idea ?

Address list error -- 5.7.1 Relaying not allowed

We have setup the Java Messaging Server to send/recieve mails from a gateway. The inbound mail flow works perfectly but, the outbound mail flow has issues.
The outbound mails are not hitting the gateway. When checked the log for outbound mail, it displays the address list error - 5.7.1 Relaying not allowed for any domain i.e gmail.com, etc

=========================================================================Do we have to make any changes on other config files except the imta.cnf and mappings file for inbound and outbound..
thanks for any help
Edited by: prasad0_0 on Jul 8, 2008 4:58 AMi have already setup the messaging server 6 months back.. followed the same procedure to route mails to a gateway..
made changes to the imta.cnf for outbound mail flow to the tcp_local and mappings file to accept inbound mail flow from the gateway. Its working perfectly on the older setup, but this now, have issues with new setup.
here is the imta.cnf file..
