Email - VIP section

In the VIP section in Emails, i want to be able to group all emails from 1 contact into a folder, at the moment all contact in VIP the emails are all mixed.  Is this something that is possible to do??

a full reset fixes the problem, but it shouldn't need one. (after some testing)

I am trying to add a contact to the email VIP list, however its grayed out. I read about the contact needing an email address so that it can be enabled for adding to the VIP list. After checking the contact info for a few times I am 200% sure that it does have an email address and still doesnt let me add it. please help

I had an 9.2 database already installed on my laptop. I installed the migration tool in c:\oracle\ora92\oes\migration and set ORACLE_HOME=c:\oracle\ora92.

  • HT5620 I want to change the email address to which all the reset security information (emails) go to. But I cannot see that email address in the list when I click on the 'Name, ID and Email Addresses' section.

I want to change the email address to which all the reset security information (emails) go to. But I cannot see that email address in the list when I click on the 'Name, ID and Email Addresses' section.
How can I change it when I cannot view it on my account. I am not even sure how this got setup.

If you mean your rescue email address, it's in the Passwords and Security section, after you answer the two security questions.

  • How to send HTML email with variable substitution in the email body section?

Does anyone have some scripting examples that create a HTML formatted e-mail with the ability to have some fields be variables?
I'm familiar with updating a XML document using a template file and the "keyword transform" function in the script.
(Like setting an emergency close for a queue for example)
I've also successfully written a script that sends an e-mail with a .wav file attachment.  I think I have the basics down on the e-mail part.
Using the keyword transform gives me an xml document that shows the tags as well as the desired variable.  Functional but not very attractive
The issue I'm really struggling with is the formatting of the e-mail body.
Is there a way to have a "prettier" document with some basic HTML tags that allow the same function?
For example I'd like a sentence in the body of the e-mail to say
"Call received from number <VariableOfCallingNumber>  at <TimeVariable>
I can do this in the subject easily enough but adding together some strings and variables.
I could do the same thing in the e-mail body DOC[], but as I understand it, I could only get 1 line so it would be pretty limited
Can anyone point me in the correct direction?
    Thanks !!

    sorry, not possible

  • VIP unread icons won't disappear

This is getting ridicolous. I already spotted several discussions over this problem.
To summarize, when I access iCloud Mail web service (icloud.com), in the VIP section on the left I constantly see unread badges showing random numbers (unread emails) on random VIP addresses I set up. There is no link whatsover with the read/unread status of actual emails. These numbers are random and keep showing no matter what action is performed: I already tried to mark as UNREAD these messages and then open it in the iCloud web service; I tried to revoke VIP status from the affected addresses, to then reassign it with no success.
I tried every combination of READ/UNREAD between iPhone and iCloud website, but nothing changes.
I really love iCloud and I finally migrated from GMail, setting up all the service through Apple cloud apps. But I find this quite ridicolous, since it's a persistent and irritating bug. And, above all, completely ignored. I see people saying that out of nowhere got their account "bonified". I still haven't.
I hope to see this issue solved, too much time having to deal with this issues.
    Thanks,
    Andrea

I think this might fix it...
Might give a try with Applejack...
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19596
After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
    applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 5 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 5 things it does are...
    Correct any Disk problems.
    Repair Permissions.
    Clear out Cache Files.
    Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.

  • How do I get an audible alert for email from specific senders without getting the alert for every incoming email?

I Need to have emails from my family members to have an audible alert when I am traveling. It seems that every email coming in is doing this. I know there is a Do Not Disturb function but it does not seem to apply to emails.

You can't set a different notification sound for each family member but If you designate the people that you want notifications from as VIP, I think it might be possible to get notifications from family members only.
Launch mail and tap the blue  "I" in the VIP section. Tap "Add VIP" in order to add the family members to the VIP list that you want to include. Then tap "VIP Alert" to automatically go to the notifications area of the settings app. Set you preferences in there for the family members. Then go to Settings>Notitication Center and turn off the audible notifications for all other mail.
The setting states that whatever you set for VIP alerts will override the other mail alerts, so I am taking that to mean that what I am suggesting is possible to do.

  • Audible Alert for one IMAP Email (security alert)?

i tried a search for this and i assume i know the answer but i am hoping perhaps someone has a workaround.
i have set up vitamin D (so far it is pretty fantastic on the demo) which allows me to get an email alert when there is activity/motion in front of my integrated iSight. i am about to set up something more sophisticate which I assume also allows for an alert via email (not sure if it allows for a text message alert or not).
is there some way to get an AUDIBLE alert for one email account? i would really like to be able to be alerted in some way that there way activity for security reasons but i really don't want to be a slave to checking my email every time something comes in.
    any ideas?
    THANKS

  • I entered the wrong email as a rescue email

When I was registering my new imac and created an apple id I didn't know what to put for my rescue email because I only currently use one email. I tried entering an old email but I think I typed it wrong because I can't get into it.
Is there a way to change a rescue email?

Log into your AppleID account (click Manage My AppleID) and once logged in, go to the Alternate Email Addresses section and delete the old one, add a new one.

My APPLE ID is NOT working properly. I am frustrated beyond belief I have tried time and time again to change my apple ID and it keeps reverting back to my original ID!! I even set up a new email to try to submit a new id and it still does not work

To change your Apple ID, follow these steps:
Go to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com), click "Manage your Apple ID", and sign in.
If you have two-step verification turned on, you'll be asked to send a verification code to the trusted device associated with your Apple ID. If you are unable to receive messages at your trusted device, follow the guidelines for what to do if you can't sign in with two-step verification.
In the "Apple ID and Primary Email Address section," click Edit.
Enter the email address you want to use, then  click Save Changes. Apple will send a verification email to that  address.
Open the  email  from Apple, then click Verify Now in the email.
When the My Apple ID page opens, sign in with your renamed Apple ID.
If you have two-step verification turned on, you'll be asked to send a verification code to the trusted device associated with your Apple ID.
After you see a message indicating that verification is complete, remember to update all of the stores and services that you use with your  Apple ID.

  • Apple ID not a working email address

I’ve been using my Apple ID for several years and now I have an iCloud email address.  I'd like to discontinue using my ISP's email account that I am presently using for my Apple ID and solely use my iCloud email address.  My ISP's email address is the one that Apple uses to send me notifications about my account.  I understand that I can’t change my Apple ID to my iCloud address, so, I will have to keep my present ISP email address as my Apple ID.  (Tell me if I'm wrong about that)
Where do I make the change in my Apple ID account to have Apple send their email notifications to my iCloud address since the Apple ID address will be out of service?

You can change the notification email address (aka rescue address) by going to appleid.apple.com to manage the ID, and sign in.  If you are using two-step verification on the ID, select the Name, ID and Email Addresses section, then change the notification address on the bottom right.  If you are using security questions instead of two-step verification, select the Password and Security Question and answer the two security question to access and change the rescue email address.
You can also change the primary email address associated with your iCloud ID to a different verifiable non-Apple email address as explained here: Change your Apple ID.  Before making this change, be sure to go to Settings>iCloud on all devices signed into the account and turn off Find My iDevice.  After you change the ID, you will then need to go to Settings>iCloud on your devices, sign out (delete account), then sign back in with the revised ID and turn Find My iDevice back on.
Note: the primary email address for your ID cannot be the same as the notification (rescue) email address.

  • ICal event invitation failures due to missing/malformed email addresses

These problems, although slightly different, appear in both 10.5.8 and 10.6.1. I don't see in the release notes that this was addressed in 10.6.2, but I have not installed it yet.
In 10.5.8, sometimes when a user is invited through the iCal invitation, an email is (attempted) to send with no email address in the to field; it's completely blank, and the mail server rejects it with a bounce message. Below is an example of the bounce message:

OK, I've discovered the 10.6 issue is a bug in Kerio Mail Server 6.7.2 and is scheduled to be fixed with the release of 6.7.3.
    The 10.5 issue remains open.

  • Change Apple ID or Primary Email?

    Hey guys,
I'm having to switch to an Android device due to work. I was wondering is it possible to change my Apple ID/Primary Email over to my gmail address? I logged in online but didn't have an option to edit my primary email or Apple ID. My Apple ID is an iCloud email because I've had it for so long. Is this even possible? If it's not what is going to happen to all of my stuff that I've downloaded on my computer using that Apple ID if I have to created another on it? Thanks for your help in advance!!

    Hello ChadH83,
It sounds like you would like to change your primary Apple ID email address. This article will help you do that. The key is the Edit button to the right of your Primay email address:
Apple ID: Changing your Apple ID
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5621
Make sure that the email address you want to use for your Apple ID meets these conditions:
The email address is one that you use regularly, because it will be the primary email address for your Apple ID.
The email address is not associated with any other Apple ID.
The email address is not an iCloud email address, which is already an Apple ID. iCloud email addresses end with @icloud.com, @me.com, or @mac.com.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • ISE Guest Authentication only with email address

    Hi,
I want to know is there an option to use ONLY the email address as an authentication credential for Guest user authentication using Guest Protal and this should be done only with Self Registration not with Sponsored accounts.
Appreciate if someone has done this and advise us how to achieve this.?
    thanks

The exact scenario explained above is unachievable , however a little different from that can be achieved , see below
New Features in Cisco ISE Version 1.2.0.899—Cumulative Patch 2
Support for Guest Self-Registration Based on Email Domain Whitelist
You can allow guests to create their own accounts by enabling the self-service feature by choosing: Administration  > Web Portal Management > Settings > Guest > Multi-Portal  Configurations > Operations > Guest users should be allowed to do  self service. When you enable this feature, the account credentials  display on the screen, and they are also emailed to the email address  used to create the account.
You can restrict this feature by limiting guests' ability to create  their own accounts based on their email domain. By creating an email  domain whitelist, you can ensure that only guest users with email  accounts on those domains can create guest accounts.
To prevent the account credentials from displaying on the screen, you  must create a custom portal when using an email domain whitelist. These  steps provide an overview:
    1. Create a custom portal, following these guidelines:
–Add  a required email field and an acceptable use policy (AUP) page to the  Self-Registration html file. See the "Sample Code for Sponsor and Guest  Portal Customizations" appendix in the Cisco Identity Services Engine User Guide, Release 1.2 for a sample file.
–Add  text to refer users to their email for their login credentials on the  Self-Registration Results html file. See the "Sample Code for Sponsor  and Guest Portal Customizations" appendix in the Cisco Identity Services Engine User Guide, Release 1.2 for a sample file.
–Map the Login file to the Self-Registration page. See the "Mapping HTML Files to Guest Portal Pages" section in the Cisco Identity Services Engine User Guide, Release 1.2 for detailed instructions.
    2. Configure the SMTP server to support notifications (Administration > System > Settings > SMTP Server).
    3. Specify  the default e-mail address from which to send all guest notifications.  (Administration > System > Settings > SMTP Server and choose Use Default email address).
    4. Create the email domain whitelist. See the "Restricting Self-Registration Based on Email Domain" section.
    5. Customize the self-registration credentials email message. See the "Customizing the Self-Registration Credentials Email" section.
    6. Customize the self-registration failure message. See the "Customizing the Self-Registration Failure Message" section

  • Workflow emails and IMAP

We've enabled the IMAP server that ships with AIX 5.2 and are able to telnet to port 143 on that server and talk IMAP through it, so we believe it is working.
From Workflow we are able to send out SMTP mails to Outlook, and replies from Outlook find their way to the mail box of the AIX user configured in the Workflow Mailer.
But the mails are not picked up from there and processed in Financials (the notification IDs are visible as 'OPEN' and 'SENT' in WF_NOTIFICATIONS).
We have created files under the AIX user's home directory called 'process' and 'discard' to which the user has write permissions and have supplied these as the relevant folders in the 'Email Processing' section for Workflow.
Is there anything that we have missed? Anyone else encountered similar problems? Does it surprise you that we've created files when Financials talks in terms of folders?
    Any suggestions gratefully accepted!

Make sure your OS folders are real IMAP folders via telnet:
    . login wf_username wf_password
    . OK Logged in.
    l list "" "*"
    * LIST (\NoInferiors \UnMarked) "/" "Trash"
    * LIST (\NoInferiors \UnMarked) "/" "DISCARD"
    * LIST (\NoInferiors \Marked) "/" "Sent"
    * LIST (\NoInferiors \Marked) "/" "PROCESSED"
    * LIST (\NoInferiors \UnMarked) "/" "INBOX"
    l OK List completed.
If they are not there, use the . create command to create them. You probably will want to delete the OS files with the same name first.
    http://www.bobpeers.com/technical/telnet_imap
I usually prefer to create my IMAP folders in some mail program on the host like evolution, thunderbird, pine, anything that communicates with IMAP. It is also a good idea to check the INBOX and DISCARD folders occasionally for thousands of auto reply messages that will cause the Workflow Mailer process to die.
