I tired to open what I thought was an innocent statement application attached to an email, which I was unable to do as the opening file just disappeared. When I viewed the application later at work, with microsoft it identified a virus. Will the Imac virus protection have deleted the virus and how can I check up on this.

Welcome to Discussions - if it's a Windows .exe file, it won't have been opened by your Mac and you are perfectly safe. It's good practice to be cautious and not open any attachments you are not expecting.
Try installing ClamXav, which is a Mac virus detector, but I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Send Email With Attachment And Recordset Recipients

When I try to send an email with an uploaded attachment, then attach it to the email being sent out to a recordset, my server tells me it has exhausted all its memory to send out the file. The pdf is 10 megs and the amount of ram allowed to be used is 256 megs.
The problem is that it seems to be that the way in which it is goign about sending the email to a recordset is that, it combines the attachment for all the email address. So say i have 35 people in the recordset with a 10 meg pdf, turns into 350 of ram.
Has anyone had any experience with this?

Send PO External email with attachement and Body text

Hi,
I need to send Purchase Orders to Vendors as PDF attachments to emails; I have successfully configured all the necessary to send external email with PDF attachement but I want to add text in the body of the email:
For Output Type NEU
Access to conditions (General Data) set to X the Replacement of text symbols is SAPMM06E/TEXT_SYMBOL_REPLACE and I fill the text in the Mail Title and Texts. The email was send with all the information : Attachement, title with PO number but with no text in the body.
Can somebody help me with this issue.

My file is "PO Number APM - 123456.dpf". You have to config the "Define Message Types for Purchase Order" in the section Mail title and texts with NEU output type. But don't forget to put the program name SAPMM06E

This is not possible with standard.
You have to write an adapter module for this.

The inkjet spam email is the same one that is causing my iPad's issue! I'm having the exact same problem as you're having --touching the email or having the email at the top of the screen freezes/shuts down ipad. I've been to two Apple stores and no one seems to know what's going on, plus, they claim they haven't heard of this problem i suggested they go to the Apple Commnity to get a feel for what's going on.
No, the issue has never been resolved!!

CSV email attachment and spaces

Hello everyone,
I have been working on making an email attachment in CSV for a client. I have created the file dynamically in a string table. Though, because it is done dynamically, my string table has sometimes, as a fictive example, something like this
First line has 63 characters,
Second line has 225 characters
Third line has 182 characters, etc
Often, a group of three lines has to be put on one line in the CSV and I added a control return character that works just fine so my problem is not there.
My problem is the fact that I have lot of blanks in my files when I wouldn't want it to be... Taking the same example:
First line has 192 blanks,
Second line has 30 blanks
Third line has 73 blanks, etc.
In fact, I have always 255 - X characters = Y Blanks. I understand a string is 255 characters so it's not a question for me to know why 255.
My question though is this: Is there a way to prevent those blanks to be put in the CSV file? Because I have huge gaps and I know it would mess up the data inserted in it.
As a complement of informations, I use Module Function 'SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1' to create the email with attachment and my CSV is not open by Excel (who places the field correctly) but via notepad to show the data to its raw values. All those gaps need to be removed.

Can you check for any special characters in your data. Special characters like ',",!,# do behave in an unwanted way and create problems. Check for the special characters from the point of start of spaces to the next character where the spaces end.

CD ROM / DVD Drive not recognised and virus on computer

Can anybody help please?
My CD ROM / DVD Drive has failed. I have tried troubleshooting etc but to no avail. The computer does not recognise I have a cd rom / dvd drive as it says it is not recognised by the registry?
I also have a virus I cannot get rid of, this may be part of the problem (Trojan-Spy.HTML.Smitfraud.c) I have run numerous virus, spyware and trojan checks but there is no cure yet?
I tried system recovery but it will not let me recover to a previous date.
I cannot use my recovery disc because the computer does not recognise the drive. A catch 22 situation.
Can anyone offer any advice other than throw it out of the window?
Help from anyone would be much appreciated.

Is you CD-ROM shown in the BIOS ? If so then set it to be the first selectable boot device and you should then be able to load your recovery disk and reboot from it.

Trying to fix - Acrobat won't close after user clicks attach and then emails.

I'm totally stumped, so any input may help. Here' s the scenario... User creates/opens PDF. They then go to either attach dialog which then opens Outlook email dialog. They finish emailing the attachment and switch back to the Adobe window to close it. Upon clicking the usual red "X" on Windows 7, nothing happens. Alt-F4 doesn't work neither, neither does Ctrl-W to close the document. Adobe isn't really "frozen" because I can go to File->Properties just fine and the dialog opens. It seems to be isolated to closing the app.
Update: It only happens after sending and the outlook window autocloses. I don't think Acrobat is aware of the email window closing, but is waiting for it to close. I tried to close the Adobe window while the new email window was still there and Adobe kicks me back to it. If I close the email and don't send then I can close Adobe. If I send, and the window autocloses, then Adobe window will not let me close.

How are you charging it? its's best charged plugged into the wall not via USB. So if you're trying via USB, try using the supplied power block plugged into the wall.

It's possible you email contained a virus, but unlikely. There haven't been any reports of email viruses effecting the mac.
My understanding is the Apple provides security updates for all malware including viruses.

Same problem. I can see the itunes store so not a problem with windows firewall. The account is active on my iphone so i know i am not locked out. I can connect the PC to my iphone so i know itunes is working ok. It is just logging into itunes on this pc which doesn't work. Only thing I can think of is that the email address I use for my apple id has been offline for a while and is working again now, I'm wondering whether this has been the case for others who are having this issue?

Viewing email on iPhone and preview of attachments with regards to virus/malware

I recently opened an email on my iPhone. Many times when you open an email on an Macbook, iPad or iPhone it will show you a preview or a snapshot of what is in the attachment. For instance, if a photo is attached to the email, it will show you the photo without you opening the attachment, or what is in a Word Document.
I did not click open the attachment, but when I opened the email itself, it had in the body of the email about 3 pages worth of random letters and numbers, starting with "DQo8IUPRQ1...". It looked to be a .txt file (but I understand other types of files can be made to look like a .txt file)
Again, I did not open the attachment, but the fact that the "information" from the attachment showed in the body of the email, it makes me very nervous about a virus or malware being on my iPhone or iPad.
Can you explain if you need to specifically open the attachment of an email for a virus/malware to take place? Is there any harm from just opening an email that has a virus attached to it and seeing the contents of the file in the body of the email?

    It was from an unknown sender. The email app i was using at the time was the Mailbox App (third party) if that makes a difference/opens me up for any additional threats. None of my products are jailbroken.
     So it sounds like that even though there thousands of random letters and numbers in the body of the email, I am ok?

Full Email Address Header for Viruses and Spam?

I have been googling all day and trying to find out a method to display the full email header to display on the iPhone.
Most email clients (both web based and program based) have a method by which you can view the "original" message or the email header information. In the original message viewing one is able to see the entire mail header.
Most of already know that a person can send an email from an email server and pretend to be anybody they want. They populate the "name" the "pretend email address" it is coming from, the same address as the "reply to" (so it looks legit) and so forth. What the email header also contains, which I am not able to see on the iPhone is where the email was actually sent from (the email server it originated from) which is KEY to identifying and dealing with spam/virus types of email.
In the world of spam and virus laden emails, I have yet to find a way to display this information using the iPhone.
As a prime example..... There is a trojan virus out there saying facebook has changed your password and for you to open their .zip file for your new password. You can click on the FROM address contact link (showing the sender is "The Team" in the iPhone email client and it will open up the information it has in a contact type window. In the example mentioned above, if you do this it just says it is coming from "The Facebook Team" and show an email address of: [email protected]. Seeing this information one must automatically assume the email is legit right??? Of course it isn't. The people sending out the email just put that information in there to make it appear as if it is a legit email from a legit person/organization/company. However if one can actually see the email header itself one would easily be able to see the email's origination server/email-server did not come from facebook itself.(therefore automatic spam)
To help protect spam and potential virus laden emails from appearing to be coming from some "so-called valid email address" a method is needed in order to verify/validate who is actually sending the email itself so as to effectively and accurately identify these types of email and aid in the reporting of these emails to the appropriate organizations directly on our iPhones.
Is there any way to view the full email content header on mails received from other accounts on our iPhone to deal with spam/virus related emails we receive on our iPhones via Push? Or are we to have to wait and launch our email client in order to handle this (seems silly to have to need a computer to handle this as the iPhone is a computer is many aspects running a real operating system)?

To my knowledge there is no way to get message headers or source in the iPhone’s mail application. Because of apple's restrictions on third party apps, I doubt you'll see an app that does this as well. As tedious as it is, using Safari is your only choice.

Process Email Attachment in Bpel and then Check-In the Document to WCC

Hello Techies,
I am new to Soa Application and Bpel. I am creating a Soa Composite application(using Jdev 11.1.1.6) which will poll for incoming Email.
This polling is done using the UMS adapter which is working fine for me. Then i have to process the Attachment and call a service to Check-In this Attachment(a pdf File) to UCM.I have Configured the WebService activity also and included the CheckIn Wsdl to perform CheckIn operation.
The problem lies in processing the attachment by creating a BPEL process and then passing this attachment to Primary File parameter of CheckIn Service.
How can I map this Attachment to primaryFile parameter of the CheckIn service ? (I am hard coding other parameters of ChecKin Service)

Currently I dont think there is a direct way that BPEL can consume and read the contents of a XL File.
As per current version of Oracle SOA Suite (11.1.1.6.3),
The Oracle File and FTP Adapters can read and write the following file formats and use the adapter translator component at both design time and run time:
•XML (both XSD- and DTD-based)
•Delimited
•Fixed positional
•Binary data
•COBOL Copybook data
The Oracle File and FTP Adapters can also treat file contents as an opaque object and pass the contents in their original format (without performing translation). The opaque option handles binary data such as JPGs and GIFs, whose structure cannot be captured in an XSD or data you do not want to have translated.

Adobe player and reader -updates and now cannot open new Email, reply Email or attached PDF's. Fix?

On my Windows PC, Win 7, 64 bit, I have Adobe Reader and Adobe Player.
a week or two or more I have had messages of Adobe updates and downloaded and installed them, but I think after these (could also be after Windows updates) I cannot open a new Email, cannot reply to an Email, and cannot open a PDF attached to an Email.
Earleir I think there was a message in the box on the screen that the cause was .. "101.1" or similar.
I have worked through Adobe suggestions in settings and downloaded again etc, but still can't find an answer to the problem.
I suspect it is a simple fix but I can't find it.
I also have AVG virus, PC tune etc running.
Also, (maybe connected?), in this time I have also been finding the PC will seize - seems like it is overloading the processor and will then either shut down, or I will have to shut it down and restart. This also seemed to happen on my last PC system and it seemed to be connected with Norton anti virus starting and overlaoding the processing, which was why I changed to AVG, but although I had Norton still on this PC (removed yesterday)it was not paid, although it was active and often sent up warnings to renew the subscription.
Would like a fix if anyone knows how

Having multiple virus checking software can cause all sorts of problems. I have no idea what PC tune is. There is no Adobe software called Player. Perhaps Flash Player. Problems with Flash Player can be addressed here:

As to problems with Reader, I would suggest the Adobe Acrobat/Reader Cleaner software then re-installing Reader from scratch:
