Email warning following "Sleep" status

Only slightly annoying but everytime I take the machine out of "sleep" status, up comes a BT broadband help box saying I am unable to receive emaills and do I want any help? I click cancel and click the box "remind me later" and it goes away. There is nothing wrong with the emails after Sleep. I use Windows Live Mail. How do I eliminate the warning message please? Broadband Help is not included in my Start Up programmes so that cannot be the problem.

Broadband help sits in the background, whether its in your startup group or not. If it causes too many problems, then uninsall it.
There are some useful help pages here, for BT Broadband customers only, on my personal website.

• Email warning message...does this mean my bt email...

I had a spate of these email warning messages (oddly enough AFTER bt had prompted me to change my password).  Then I had a complaint from a friend about receiving emails - purportedly from me - promoting some website.  Ran a virus scan.  All quiet.
I've just got another one.
"This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.
A message that you sent has not yet been delivered to one or more of its
recipients after more than 48 hours on the queue on lserver.vanessacox.com"
which is different from the previous message, which was:
"This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.
A message that you sent has not yet been delivered to one or more of its
recipients after more than 48 hours on the queue on mercury.anticlown.com"
Does this mean my account has been hacked twice now??  Or what?  And what should I do about it?
Help?
Thanks.
**Here today....blonde tomorrow**

The email that you had "from BT", areyou sure it was from BT. Did you click on links within the email to change your passwrod. If you did it was possible that the email was a phishing email and that by doing the password change you gave the hackers access to your email account and all you contacts details.
You should have a read through this link and follow the instructions and check that there is no forwarding email addresses set up etc. Change your password and security questions.
http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/39411/?s_intcid=con_L1:Technical help:L2:Email or security:sab:locked
The hacker will now have your contacts details and can use them at will and spoof your email address which will make any emails they send appear as though they have come from you. There is not much you can do about that now other than start using a new email address and tell your contacts to delete any emails that come from your hacked address.

• Mac Book Pro wake up after sleep status

A few days after installing the latest security update for 10.6.3, there seems to go something wrong with the mac book. After a wake up / getting out of sleep status the mac book seems not to connect to the magic mouse, so i have to manually disconnect / connect the mouse and then it works. But this morning i saw that the battery status is also not working correct. it says 98 % and the light was out on the power cable, then i disconnected and connected the cable and now the battery status says: 85 % and loading and the cable has its orange light.
Something clearly doesnt work well, so i guess i have to do the whole reset of pram/vram again and look if it will work.
But reading the boards, a lot of people having problems with it. If apple should care more about its core business and less about the ipads it would work like it should be.

Try the following, in order, until (hopefully) resolved:
1a. Delete Preferred Network(s)
System Preferences > Network > Wi-Fi > Advanced > Wi-Fi tab
Under "Preferred Networks," delete the network(s) you regularly use from the list.
1b. Delete AirPort Keychain Entries
Launch the "Keychain Access" application located in Applications/Utilties.
In the windows on the left side: Select login for Keychains and "All Items" for Category.
Click on the "Kind" filter at the top, and look for any "AirPort network password" entries...and delete them.
1c. Add Preferred Network(s)
System Preferences > Network > Wi-Fi > Advanced > Wi-Fi tab
Add the preferred network(s) using the "+" button.
Restart or log out then back in.
2. Move System Configuration Files
(Note: You will have to reestablish your network connections settings.)
Go to /Library/Preferences
Move the SystemConfiguration folder to the desktop.
Restart your Mac. (Note: OS X will rebuild the files that are now sitting on your desktop. If this doesn't resolve the issue, you can move the folder back to it's original location.)

Hi,
can any body give me the FM to display the warning message
at status bar.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
To give a warning message , you dont need any function module. You can use the keyword 'MESSAGE' and give the type as 'W'.
Do a F1 on the keyword MESSAGE for further details.

I tried creating a password policy and linked it with a resource object (iPlanet Directory Server). Its working fine. But I am not getting the email warning notification before the password actually expires.
I am not sure as to how the checkbox that I checked while creating the policy i.e, "Warn after---- days" , works.

• Java Thread.sleep() on Windows 8 stops in S3 sleep status

There's a desktop application that uses Thread.sleep() to achieve long (minutes or hours) delays. This same application has been working fine from Windows XP through Windows 7. The application calculates how far in the future it needs to do something, then hits a Thread.sleep(msToWait). This has been working fine, even if the system happens to go into S3 or S4 sleep state during the wait.  All is good as long as the machine is awake at the time when the sleep expires.
As of Windows  8 (and 10), though, the code after Thread.sleep() does not execute "on time" if the machine has been in S3 during the sleep interval. It appears that the machine begins executing code at "msToWait" plus the time the machine has been in S3.
Earlier versions of Windows did not exhibit this behavior; code after Thread.sleep() waited the right amount of time, irrespective of sleep status.
A test program and procedure were developed. The procedure is to 1) run the program, 2) cause the machine to sleep for about a minute, then 3) wake the machine and wait for the program to finish.
If this the program is run on Windows 10 (reporting as 8) with JVM Version: 25.40-b25, it fails (the 63589 corresponds to the minute that the machine was in S3):
C:\Users\Tester\Downloads>SleepTester.exe
Wed Apr 01 10:47:35 PDT 2015 Using default number of minutes: 5
Wed Apr 01 10:47:35 PDT 2015 You can use "SleepTester -minutes 10" to have it sleep for 10 minutes, for example.
Wed Apr 01 10:47:35 PDT 2015 JVM Version: 25.40-b25 Windows Version: Windows 8
Wed Apr 01 10:47:35 PDT 2015 The program will now wait for 5 minutes.  Expect wrap-up at Wed Apr 01 10:52:35 PDT 2015
Wed Apr 01 10:53:38 PDT 2015 The system has come through the Thread.sleep(300000).
Wed Apr 01 10:53:38 PDT 2015 This should be a low number: 63589
Wed Apr 01 10:53:38 PDT 2015 This appears to be operating incorrectly...the expected sleep time has NOT been achieved.
Wed Apr 01 10:53:38 PDT 2015 Program is ending.
If the process is run on Windows 7, it does not fail:
Wed Apr 01 17:12:18 EDT 2015 Java Runtime Version: 1.8.0_31-b13 JVM Version: 25.31-b07 Windows Version: Windows 7
Wed Apr 01 17:12:18 EDT 2015 The program will now wait for 6 minutes.  Expect wrap-up at Wed Apr 01 17:18:18 EDT 2015
Wed Apr 01 17:18:18 EDT 2015 The system has come through the Thread.sleep(360000).
Wed Apr 01 17:18:18 EDT 2015 This should be a low number: 0
Wed Apr 01 17:18:18 EDT 2015 Program is ending.
This is the guts of  test program:
public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
       System.out.println(new Date() + " Java Runtime Version: " + System.getProperty("java.runtime.version") + " JVM Version: " + System.getProperty("java.vm.version") + " Windows Version: " + System.getProperty("os.name"));
       long msDelay = mMinutes * 60 * 1000;
       long wakePoint = new Date().getTime() + msDelay;
       System.out.println(new Date() + " The program will now wait for " + mMinutes + " minutes. Expect wrap-up at " + new Date(wakePoint));
       Thread.sleep(msDelay); // If the machine goes into S3 during this interval, it should not matter, as long as it's awake when it fires.
       System.out.println(new Date() + " The system has come through the Thread.sleep(" + msDelay + "). ");
       long msAccuracy = Math.abs(new Date().getTime() - wakePoint);
       System.out.println(new Date() + " This should be a low number: " + msAccuracy);
       if (msAccuracy > 1000) System.out.println(new Date() + " This appears to be operating incorrectly...the expected sleep time has NOT been achieved.");
       System.out.println(new Date() + " Program is ending.");
Was the change in behavior from earlier versions of Windows intentional?  Is it something that the JVM is controlling, or is there a difference in the underlying OS that is beyond the control of the JVM?

I might need to create a work-around whereby I maintain a watch of the msDelay and the system clock.  If there is a discontinuity (which would only happen on Windows 8 or higher), then I would repair the msDelay value.
A separate (but related) question:
Can I conclude that since older JVM's running on Windows 8 still have the problem, that it's a Windows issue, and not a JVM issue?

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now.  About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

Pre ordered a book, got an email to follow link to download -- nothing! It asks me to buy it again

Hello there, Christaen.
The following Knowledge Base article should provide some useful information on how to redeem your purchase:
iTunes Store: About Pre-orders
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5714
Specifically:
Downloading a pre-ordered item
When a pre-order item becomes available, you will receive an email letting you know your pre-order is available for download.
If you've enabled iTunes to automatically download prepurchased content, then your pre-order content may already be downloaded to your library. If not, simply click the download link provided within your email notification, and your pre-order content will begin to download. Alternatively you can use the "Check for Available Downloads" feature in iTunes on your computer by choosing Store > Check for Available Downloads to begin downloading your pre-order.

Did you set the concurrency property on the rowset to be CONCUR_UPDATEABLE?
Also, just to make sure, I assume you are not operating on a rowset bound to a datatable? (You should only operate on a dataModel when you are using a datatable)
take a look at the tutorial for more hints:
http://devservices.sun.com/premium/jscreator/standard/learning/tutorials/inserts_updates_deletes.pdf
Note that if you are binding textfields to the rowset, that essentially does the updateStrings automatically - in the tutorial you'll notice we use updateObject (essentially the same as your updateString) in the constructor to setup default values etc - but that's not required.

• Marking outgoing emails for follow-up

Hi,
A lot of the email I send out are messages I need to follow up on at a later stage. Right now, my approach is to review my outbox every week and then read every message I sent to catch up on any developments (yay for 'organize by conversation') and either archive if case closed or follow up. It's a bit tedious and requires me to read a lot of messages I shouldn't have to. It also means that in some cases I am sitting with somebody in my team and I'll miss an opportunity to check on status because I haven't added the issue to my 'to do' app yet.
What I'm looking for is this ...
While I'm composing a new message or writing a response to an existing message, I want to be able to mark this message for follow-up.
Here is what I've done so far ...
I know I can mark a message with a flag after it has been sent. But those are a significant number of added clicks and not a very elegant solution.
Same goes for tools like MailHub, which let me mark emails after they have been sent.
I've considered writing a script that gets triggered upon email send, popping up a dialog asking to flag the message or not. With Mail Act-On, I can run scripts that way. Better, but could get rather annoying quite quickly.
I've found MailTags, but it slows down Mail and the horrid user interface makes my eyes hurt.
And while the keynote showing off Mavericks had me hoping the tags would be in Mail too, I installed the beta and it seems there is no tag support included in Mail. I guess one can hope it will get added before final release, but I am thinking it will not be.
I'm sure I'm not the only person who faces this situation.
Any recommendations?
cheers,
Rob

This might solve your issue.
