email on ipad2 stopped working (frozen with no messages showing). Decided to reset the ipad via the sleep/wake button. Now all that appears is a busy symbol (white turning circle). Nothing works at all now.
Have you tried pressing and holding both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which you should see the Apple logo appear, and the iPad should reboot - you won't lose any content.

My iPad Wi-Fi cellular 16 GB 4G switched off suddenly, even when the battery was 40% available. It is not switching on again, i have tried restarting by using sleep/wake button, but red slider does not appear. I kept it off like it was overnight, in the morning agin recharged it, but still it is not switching on. it is not responding, except when i connect the charger, it gives a blink noise that recharge has started. I removed the SIM and tried restart it but no response, What should i do to restart it please?
Seems to be working again, I haven't done anything though. And the "wifi" led on my laptop is off, which should mean that the interface is down.
This is driving me crazy I don't understand how the all thing works, if anyone has any tips that would be very nice.

My iphone 4s will not shut off. I have tried every combination of sleep/wake and home (round) buttons with no success. Don't know what else to try. (Try telling that to the airline stuardess).

It is plugged into computer and itunes is not showing that my phone is connected. Apple gave me a website address to fix the problem but it must have not been the correct web address. I'm outside of 90 day window for phone support.

Are you sure that you performed the reset correctly?
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. -

My iPad is frozen. Does not turn off or charge just black screen with logo. Tried to reset by pressing the two buttons and nothing.
Then you should try restoring the iOS software next. Read this and pay attention to the last part of the article that describes recovery mode, you may have to restore your iPad that way.

My itouch (4th generation) has frozen up. It is stuck on the window with the slide bar with shows the time and date (which is the date from 3 days ago, even though it just frozen. It won't shut down by holding down the sleep wake button on top. (yes, I held it for more than 6 seconds) And obviously, I can't pull the slid bar over since it is completely frozen.
BTW, I tried plugging it into the computer and running the diagnostic tests on itunes, but is shows everything is fine.
What do I try now?Try placing the iPod in ecovery mode and then restoring the iPod via iTunes. For recovery mode see:

Next would beto wait for the battery to fully drain and the charge and try again. -

If you have a rescue email address set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address set up then go to Express Lane and select 'iTunes' from the list of 'products' in the middle of the screen.
Then select 'iTunes Store', and on the next screen select 'Account Management'
Next choose 'iTunes Store Account Questions' or 'iTunes Store account security' (it appears to vary by country) and fill in that you'd like your security questions/answers reset.

We have a 32 gb iPad, slow but sure. Just tried to do restore from cloud and now it's frozen. Shut off with power button and wake/sleep only and all I get is the apple symbol when I restart it. Stuck.
If reset doesn't work, try and force iPad into Recovery Mode
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button.
5. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad. Data will be lost. -
I had my ipod touch 4th generation plugged into my sterio and i tried to swipe open my pinger app and now its stuck on the load screen for the app and wont do anything at all its frozen. How do I fix it??
Reset your iPod. Hold the power and the home button for 10 seconds till the iPod restarts. No data will be lost.

phone 4 just turned itself off, won't turn on again - sleep/wake button hasn't worked for a while - tried charging (even though it was 50% charged when it shut down) and that makes no difference....either via usb to computer and direct to wall socket. Any suggestions...other than heading off to the genius bar tomorrow?
Well, the sleep/wake button is also the power button. If you cannot use it to turn on, then you cannot use it to perform a reset by holding it and the home button together until you see the Apple logo.Those are the only two ways to turn the device on. You can try letting the battery go completely dead and then trying to plug it in. After it has charged for 20-30 minutes, the device may come back on. But, without the sleep/wake button, there is no other way to turn the device on or off.

My ipad mini is frozen in an app and the home button is stuck. Pressing the wake/sleep button does not bring up the red slider to turn the ipad off. Is there any other way I can reset the ipad? Can I remove the battery? and then put it back in?
