Email will not always sync

periodically email cannot be received and no error message received.  Problem passed on to Verizon and Samsung with no known solution.  Real problem is not knowing for sure when email is working correctly.  Sending emails always works but test messages will not even go to device at times.  Samsungs answer was maybe the Android 2.2 will fix the problem.  Tried deleting accounts and re-adding, removing battery (works for a while), total reset and problem still comes back.  Using a popmail through Yahoo and a hotmail account.  Also have same problem deleting emails as mentioned previously in this forum.

How will that fix the problem?  I have been using the refresh and load more messages options on the email accounts.  There are extended periods throughout the day that email will not be received.  Samsung did not have a solution and neither did Verizon technical support.  There are several others with the same issues.  We should not have to do manual syncs and it is a sporadic problem.

  • Exchange email will not sync

Re: Iphone 4; I have two email accounts on Exchange: Gmail and a work email.
For the past week my phone will not push the new emails to my phone. I have it where I fetch my emails manually. I'm getting the spinning wheel of death and it says "Checking for mail", but the emails will not show up.
Something seems to be sucking the battery life out of my phone. (Is this related?)
What I have done: Reset the phone; deleted the email account and added it back on. Nothing seems to work.
Everything else on my phone seems to be working fine.

    Hi,
Please check if this issue affects all activesync users. If only one user is affected, please check if this user is in quarantine list.
And you can enable the ActiveSync Mailbox Logging and then check if there is any related information.

  • Reply Emails will not load

The following problem has appeared on my system in the last few days.
    Symptoms:
I receive an email that has been sent to a group of people, all on the main recipients list as opposed to cc's or bcc's. This first email behaves perfectly.
Then one of the addressees replies to the same group. My copy of the reply email will not load in mail.app. Instead I get a spinning gear wheel (with a "loading..." message) that changes to a spinning beach ball and "mail" just hangs - requiring a forced quit to get the application working again.
At first I thought that the response email must have contained something that was contaminating the process but I've had the symtoms repeated for several emails that were distributed to different groups. Its always the same, the first email behaves as expected but the responses will not load.
These emails sent within groups have always behaved perfectly in the past so the suspicion is that there is something amiss in my system.
The first culprit email came from my website. I looked at the guilty email on the server and it looked normal.
To test the path I forwarded one of the emails that was causing a problem to my isp email(comcast) and tried to download it. I got the same problem, it will not load when it gets on my system.
What I've Tried to Resolve it:
I searched the discussions and found a suggestion to rebuild permissions and the trash the mail cache in the library. I followed the instructions but it had no effect.
    One Additional Note:
I upgraded to 10.5.6 and I know that this problem was not present before the upgrade.
Any suggestions as to the cause of the problem and rectifications would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

  • AOL email will not sinc on Samsung Android.  Can anyone help?

I have a new android samsung and all of a sudden the new email will not come in (sync)  I have checked with Verizon Tech and AOL and neither have a solution.  Any help?

At the Verizon store, one of the tech set up a new aol account on my phone as an app.  It is called a k-nine app and it brings in all my email.  It has been working fine for several days now.  They are aware of the issue and this is how they suggested correcting it.

  • Manual request for email still gets email when not requesting sync

I have an iPhone 4s with a mail for exchange account set up on it.  My settings are set for manual so I don't get email pushed to me all the time.  I am using iOS6 at the moment.  Whenever I turn on the phone, it checks and updates my inbox. Even when on 5.1.1, it checked now and then without me asking to sync but now on OS6, it has happened everytime I boot up alongside the occasional not requested sync.  Anyone else have this issue?  Is there a fix?

  • Exchange email will not work when offline

Anyone know when Apple will fix this issue?  Email will not work correctly unless connected to wireless.  This makes it impossible to be productive while flying.  This is exclusive to exchange servers as it woks on POP accounts.

I know that.  When I work on my laptop I can file, reply, delete etc. and when I land it updates all the folders and sends and recevies all the mail.  the iPad will not let you file or delete emails unless connected.  This makes flying time completely unproductive.  If I have to have a laptop to do email why have an iPad???

  • Email will not let me change fonts all of a sudden.

Email will not let me change fonts all of a sudden.  It says I don't have the neccesay permissions in ~/library/preferences.  this has just happened recently.

    Who is your email provider?
You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears. Try again to see if the problem persists.
If yes, try deleting the mail account and adding it again.

  • Email will not send

Email will not send , but I can receive ?

Are you getting any errors when you try to send? Or does it just get stuck in your outbox sending? Simple thing to do is reset your iPad by holding down the home and power button until you see the silver apple then just let the iPad start normally. If the issues still persist as mentioned above got to Settings>mail, contacts, and calendars and just turn of mail then turn back on. See if you get any errors if not check your mail again and attempt to send the email. If all above fail. Go back to settings and then mail, contacts, and calendars then select the email account that you are having issues with then delete the account. Once deleted select the option to add account and re add your email account back to your iPad. Let me know if this works for you.

  • My iTunes library will not completely sync to neither my iPad nor my iPhone -- both are completely updated with the latest software. What do I have to do?? When I try to do the "autofill" option when connected to iTunes it says "no songs can be copied"

My iTunes library will not completely sync to neither my iPad nor my iPhone -- both are completely updated with the latest software. What do I have to do?? When I try to do the "autofill" option when connected to iTunes it says "no songs can be copied"...I literally bought some of these songs yesterday on my iPhone and now I can't sync them to my iPad. What is this issue? Usually I would just have to plug either device into iTunes and everything would sync, now nothing new syncs.

On your iPad tap Settings > Store
Switch Books off then back on then reset your iPad.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • IPod Classic will not properly sync

Hey everybody. I'm really hoping that somebody could help me out with this, as I am getting rather frustrated with it.
My iPod Classic 120GB will not properly sync with iTunes on Windows 7. When I plug my iPod into my computer, I get the typical "Scan & Fix" message from Windows, and I generally just close the window without selecting an option (to Scan & Fix or Ignore), as neither option has ever seemed to change anything.
I used to have over 100GB of music on my iPod, collected from various sources over the past 5 years or so, but a few months ago I plugged my iPod in to add new music to it, and iTunes did not recognize any of the files on my iPod. When I ejected it, there was no music on my iPod, but it still had 100GB of space filled. I decided to just bite the bullet and reformat my iPod, even though I would be losing most of my music, in hopes that I could make it work correctly.
However, after I reformatted it, I have continued to have problems. I have reformatted using both iTunes and the Windows reformatting tool. Every time I plug my iPod in to add new music, the same things happen. I'm not automatically syncing iTunes to my iPod, because I like to be able to manage my music manually. I can add some music to it, but certain files will not copy and then nothing alphabetically after those files will copy either. I eject my iPod and use it normally throughout the day, but then when I plug it back into my computer again to try to add the rest of my music, iTunes says that my iPod has no music on it (even though space is being used). When this happens, I just restore the iPod and try again, and this is getting extremely aggravating.
My music is all in MP3 format, and I am not trying to add movies, pictures, or any other files to my iPod (other than cover art). I have run anti-virus checks and stuff on all of my music files, and everything has come up clean. Should I try converting all of my music to AAC, or will this just take forever and not actually fix anything? I have already tried downgrading to an older version of iTunes, and I have still been having the same issues. I don't know what else I could do, and I really don't have the money to buy a new iPod.
Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

There may be some hardware fault on the iPod's hard drive, which is causing this problem.  Your use of manual loading may be agravating the problem, because you are making the iPod apply many small incremental disk access updates.  If you used automatic syncing, iTunes makes all changes at once, with one disk access, then dismounts the iPod's disk and spins down until the next sync, when it again makes all updates at once.
I understand why you want to use the manual method, but here's a way to "replicate" what you do manually using automatic syncing.
Create a new playlist in iTunes.  Load this playlist with ALL the songs you want on the iPod.
Select the iPod in iTunes.  There is a row of "tabs" (starting with Summary).  Click on Music there.  On the Music tab, set it to Sync music using Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Below that, keep it simple by checkmarking ONLY that new playlist with the songs you want on the iPod.  When you click Apply, the songs on that playlist sync to the iPod.
Going forward, to update the iPod's songs, just update that playlist (add and remove songs).  Basically, instead of manually updating the iPod, you are manually updating the playlist.  It's the same work, but with several key advantages:
    - The iPod does not need to be connected to make updates, increasing flexibility and reducing wear-and-tear on iPod.  Just connect the iPod once after you are done making all changes to the playlist.
    - Updates to a playlist are instantaneous.  Updates made directly to an iPod (especially one with a hard drive that may need to spin up) takes a few seconds to a few minutes, depending on data size.  You're just waiting.
    - Many small updates to the iPod's hard drive is more wear-and-tear, compared to iTunes applying all of your changes with one consolidated disk access.
    - iTunes keeps the iPod's "disk" NOT mounted, except when syncing.  This reduces wear-and-tear, and the chance of data corruption occuring.  The manual method requires the iPod's disk to be mounted at all times (until ejected).
    - Because the iPod's disk is not mounted most of the time, you don't need to eject before disconnecting.
    - You have a backup of all of your iPod songs on the computer's hard drive.
    - If you do a Restore, or if you get a new iPod, all you do is go to the Music tab and select that one playlist again, and click Apply.  Everything back to the way it was before, with a few mouse clicks (and 20-30 minutes or so of syncing).
If you want multiple playlists on the iPod, just create those playlists in the iTunes library.  Name them so that they all appear grouped together in the iTunes sidebar.  Checkmark those playlists on the Music tab.  Do your "song maintenance" in iTunes using those playlists, and let iTunes automatically sync all changes at once the next time you connect the iPod (or click the Sync button).
Try setting it up to use automatic syncing, to see if there is any improvement.

Try closing the Mail app completely and see if it works properly when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Jpg sent by email will not display in outlook 2010

Since I have upgraded top the latest os pictures sent by email will not save or display in outlook 2010.
    Help please

I agree, i can't understand why they don't just explain the settings.  And why they do not consistently work.
I too had issues, Outlook was "working" when i set up the @me account, then I started getting the annoying little internat email login popup (that does not go away).  Finally after many "experiments" i have it "apparently working" (will explain working with the following settings:
    accoutn type: IMAP
incoming server: imap.mail.me.com Port: 993: SSL
outgoing server: smtp.mail.me.com   Port: 25 (default): Auto
"Require SPA" is checked, but not on outgoing server.
It does now finally work without putting up the annoying internet email login.  However, now i discoverd a greater problem.
OUTLOOK IS NOT REALLY SENDING THE EMAIL.  It is putting it in the "sent" box as if it did, but no one receives it.  No errors, no warning.  And this dates all the way back to the time i started using the @me account.  My only work around is to use the stupid icloud mail browser app.  Really low in functionality compared to outlook.
This really affects the reliability of the icloud product and this is a serious error.  It really cuts down on the utility of the icloud and whewther it can be integrated with the PC at all.  Like everyone else i have also had the creation of multiple calendars and multiple contacts.
Apple better fix this quick or a lot of people will start using gmail, droid and google cloud products.

See if this helps .... Reset the iPad.
Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears - ignore the red slider bar - let go of the buttons and let the iPad start up. Then check your emails.
