Emailing an Image

Hi,
I have written a procedure using apex_mail.send to send updates to database users that are using my APEX System. However i wish to include images retrieved from apex_application_files as attachments in the email.
Is there any way to do this? Is it possible? Has anyone else done this before?
Thanks!
Immanuel

  • Can the email attachment image cache be disabled?

    I receive email with attached images from a security system with four cameras on a detected alarm event. No problems before update to ios 5. Now the first attachment image received becomes the default image for all camera emails. If I delete the first alarm email, power cycle phone, the next email attachment image becomes the default image. All images are time stamped jpg so no duplicate names to cache on. Because I use Imap, I can go to other computers and the images are correct on those machines. I have another different system that emails attachment jpg images that come through correctly. Only those images are slightly larger in size. 30k versus 19k for the problem emails.

    Same problem on ipad mail. Received 5 emails with each one different photo. Imap zimbra mail client shows each photo ok, ipad shows always the same photo. Cache problem ? Moved the files to different imap dirs, reboot ipad, played with options ... No workaround. How can we submi a bug report ?

  • Differentiate b/w email attachment and an email signature image attachment

    Hello all,
    I have a java program which checks a particular mailbox periodically for new messages sent by users and once there is a new message, it processes that message and copies that message to a particular record. Also if there are any attachments associated with that email, it will take those attachments and attach them to the particular record. All this is working fine. But when a user who is sending an email has an image as part of his email signature, that image is coming as an attachment to my mailbox and my code is picking up that attachment and appending it to the record as a new attachment. Is there a way to differentiate between the normal attachments that a user sends and the email signature image so that I can check for those image attachments before attaching to my record. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    There's no standard for these sorts of "email signatures" so there's no guaranteed way to detect them.
    A common way to format such a message would be to put the message text as a text/html part
    inside a maultipart/related part, with an image/jpeg part containing the image.
    Normally attachments should be part of a multipart/mixed part, and should have a Content-Disposition
    of "attachment".
    But many mailers play fast and loose with these rules, so you may have to experiment with some
    heuristics to detect such signatures reliably.

    You know you can access your Aperture Library in the New Message Window in Mail on 10.5?
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
    You can then drag multiple pics over to the Window.

  • I am unable to email an image from camera roll. the image gets "stuck". cannot input email address or subject line. am unable to cancel and go back to camera roll

    what to do. i tries taking new picture and sending it in an email... same thing... gets "stuck "
    Waht to do ?

    Hello lohmann8,
    Thank you for providing so much detail about the issue you are experiencing with emailing photos from the Camera Roll.
    The first thing I recommend is quitting and relaunching the applications on your iPhone:
    Double-click the Home button.
    Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
    Swipe the app up to close it.
    You can find the full article here:
    iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
    If you are still seeing the same issue after quitting and relaunching the Photos and Camera app, I recommend restarting your phone and then resetting if it's still not working:
    Restarting your device
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
    Note: Reset your device only if you are unable to restart it.
    Resetting your device
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    You can find the full article here:
    iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    If the issue persists, the last thing I recommend is backing up and restoring your iPhone:

    iTunes: Restoring iOS software

  • How can I email Facebook images from Firefox?

    As a computer support person, I've switched many people from other browsers to Firefox, often touting that the Firefox interface is most similar to Internet Explorer than the other choices. This client's issue stumped me, however, and I haven't been able to come up with a solution for her. Rather than exploring other browsers, this is my last-ditch effort to come up with a Firefox solution.
    In Internet Explorer browsing Facebook, people can right-click on an image and email the picture to someone (family, friends, etc.). I can find no way to duplicate this functionality in Firefox. I go to other websites (tested this on Yahoo!'s main page) and I can right-click in Firefox and email the picture. In Facebook, no dice. (This may be more a Facebook issue, but I want to check with you folks first.)
    I can't find an Add-on that will do it. This seems strange, because apparently a lot of people like to have this ability. Any ideas or suggestions? DMS

    Adding 2 Suggestions to above reply:
    * Right click on the image and ''copy image location''. Then use '''''insert>image''''' to embed as remote content
    * Right click and '''''copy image'''''. Then paste into the e-mail.
    Make sure that you have the correct ''default e-mail service'' selected.

    You only need to post a URL to your web site. We can see your code in Browser.

  • PLEASE Help with HTML code for email background image...

    Hi there!
    i have a background image that I want to pop into an html email widget for the email's background...  here is the web link I created in Photoshop: file:///C:/Users/Rachel/Desktop/iMuse%20Clients/LeadMachine360/Email%20Signatures/tileabl e-metal-textures-2.html
    If anyone could please help me out that would be AWESOME!  I've attached pics of the background & I'm using Infusionsoft email builder which allows for HTML widgets.  I have a code that I use for my landing pages & webforms which works, tried that but no dice!
    Any help would be much appreciated - I'm an html newbie!
    Here is the code that I use for landing pages & works great, tried it for the email & it was a fail:
    <style>
      #mainContent .background, {
          background: url('file:///C:/Users/Rachel/Desktop/iMuse%20Clients/LeadMachine360/Email%20Signatures/ti leable-metal-textures-2.html') no-repeat center center fixed;
        background-size: cover;
    </style>

      jQuery(document).ready(
          function(){
          jQuery(' table.bodyContainer').removeAttr('bgcolor');
    </script>
    thanks in advance!
    Muse

    Not sure what you expect. Your URL is absolute and pointing to a local file resource. It's not a proper relative HTML link. Beyond that it's toatlly unclear how you actually plan to load your image and where they are hosted, so nobody can tell you anything. Either way, there is an obviously painful lack of understanding of even the most basic web techniques, so the best advise anyone would give you is to spend some time with a web search and actualyl learn some of that stuff...

  • Email with images

    Hi,
       Our requirement is to send images as part of email and also the email content is HTML. When we send the email the system in SCOT shows the mail has been sent successfully. But the at customer site the exchange server is blocking .bmp files and so emails are not delivered. I would like to send it as a TIF file how do I do that. The code is same as in the example code as SF_XSF_DEMO_MAIL.
       Can Someone suggest anything. Thanks.
    Regards
    Naveen Agarwal
    Has no one worked on this.

    Dear Naveen,
    It is very easy to convert a BMP file to a TIF Fomat.
      1. Open the BMP file in MSPAINT and choose SAVE AS...
         in the dialogue give your file name and the next
         text field choose the format type as TIF.
      2. You can do this from Microsof Imaging, and Adobe
         Image ready...
    and i had a query,
    Does this functionality send mail to external ID's(like yahoo) also.
    If so send me the Functionality and the prerequisits for this....
    Thanks in Advance,

  • HTML email - download image prompt

    Greetings,
    Do you know how to code an html file so that
    when you send it in the body of an email,
    the user has to click on a missing image in order to
    get the real image to download and replace it.
    I imagine that it is related to the NOSEND feature,
    but when I used NOSEND=1, the page sent completely intact
    rather than all except for the images.
    ToeCutter.

    Hi Alan,
    That's actually how my test worked. I think it works well,
    but my boss wants the email to look half disabled I guess.
    An email that he received was an html email, but the images
    didn't port with the email, so the place that should have an
    image
    has a 'system-like' prompt over the image area that basically
    says
    click to download image.
    I thought that this occured because of the nosend="1"
    attribute
    I found attached to the images in it. So now I'm trying to
    recreate
    this situation. I'm about to try a test by sending out an
    HTML
    via stationary rather than copy paste.

  • Converting an Outlook email with Images doesn't work

    I can convert any email from Outlook to a PDF and it will include all .doc and .pdf files, but it seems to just ignore any image attachments. I'm using Acrobat 11.0.06
    Is there a reason why or a solution to get around this? I need to maintain a database of all my applications and some come in as PDF's, others as image files.
    I cannot find an email address for Adobe either, bit fustrating.
    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    Goto the Change Conversion settings option on the Adobe PDF tab in outlook.
    On the settings tab , unselect - "Block downlaod of external content"
    That should solve the issue for you.
