Emailing and synching over GSM network (i.e. without wifi)

My new iPhone emails no problem with WiFi but does not seem to without the Wifi. Do I need to change the settings?
I also want to synch my contacts and calendar and iTunes (podcasts) the same way.... Is that the same issue or should I adjust somethings else for that?

Most likely you are using your home wi-fi, and your email account provider doesn't allow SMTP access when not on their network. Accounts like Gmail do. As a workaround, send email using AT&T's SMTP server - go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > tap the account > SMTP > tap the AT&T SMTP server under Other SMTP servers, and toggle it ON.
You cannot sync iTunes content 'over the air'. You can sync contacts/calendars 'over the air' with a MobileMe account or a Google Sync account, or via MS Exchange (corporate email).

Restore your new iPad from your most recent backup of your iPad2 in iTunes when you set it up, and then set up your wife's iPad2 as new device in iTunes by clicking on 'restore' on the main summary screen.
Alternatively, you can just go to 'Settings>Reset>Erase all Contents and Settings'.

Email and transferring over a my personal domain

Hi have a business domain name that i want to swicth over to mobile me add some memory to it. I Already have a site running and it has run it course. Both personal domain goes though different company, one bring network solution and the other active domain. I went and bought iLife 09 for some reason that it would be easier to recreate more personal domain. and I Love apple stuff. When I tried a few months ago with my business one at network at it go so great. We lost are email for a day for so and they told I have to call apple. I quest what I am looking for and going through active domain and how do I set up my company email. I would like to me a informed before I go asking them them some question. How host the email account? How many can I have? I to all the graphics I you for my companies, like logos and and stull just go into my idisk, moble.me account and I get back them up leter? MobileMe is not suitable for hosting a business website.
You cannot set up web mail and you can only have one "real" domain name redirect.
MobileMe is slow, unreliable and has no tech support.
For a business site you need several web mail addresses that you can redirect to your Mac Mail if you want and you need the ability to have contact forms.
If you want to be found in search engines and optimize your site so that it will download on a PC running Internet Explorer you will find that MobileMe makes this very difficult to achieve compared with using a "real" server.

Scan to email and sign in using network authentication - M476dw

Hi, I've at long last got almost everything set up. The printer is connected wirelessly and prints fine over the network. The scanner is able to scan to a directory on my computer. The scan to email profile is set up and tested correctly, and I have set up the Networking>Access Control to have Access Code enabled, all features set to "local device" with "device guest" checked as well.
When I try to scan from the machine to email however I get the following message:
"The Scan to Email feature is not available for use. You must sign in using network authentication (Windows or LDAP) in order to use the Scan to Email feature"
Is there really no way to scan to my email without those incomprehensible setups? And if not, does LDAP or Windows sign in require specialized equipment as well, or just to be able to wade through the jargon? If the latter, can you please point me to a clear instruction for how to set it up with terms defined, as the help file I've found was totally incomprehensible to me.

I see you are having issues with the setting in Yahoo and Scan to Email on your HP printer. There is no option to enter the information Yahoo is trying to ask for within Scan to Email. Even though other Apps have worked with this, Scan to Email will not.

I have the ipad 3, and just last night had to reboot and do the upgrade, now my texting and facetime on it is not working...it states that when I click to activate it, and put in my user id(email) and passcode....that" could not sign in...please chekc network connection and try again".....well my Wifi connection is fine, and i can text and facetime fine from my iphone..just not the ipad now.....any ideas why it will not take my user id and passcode?...the passcode works fine on my iphone.

Sharing Files between Mac and PC over a Network

I have recently made the switch to the Mac, and I have been so pleased with it ever since! I am getting married soon and my wife-to-be has a Windows XP desktop machine. I have been reading up on the different options on sharing files, and I want to ask if someone with experience can confirm what I think I have discovered.
1. A person on Windows can read and/or write to a Mac OS X formatted drive only if they run Macdrive.
2. A person running Windows XP can read files stored on a shared folder on the Mac through network sharing without additional software. But can they write to the shared volume on the Mac??
Now, I know all about the Mac side of things. It can read NTFS, read/write to FAT/FAT32, connect to Windows computers...etc. I have actually done all these things already, and know how to use them. I just want to make sure that I have the right idea before I go into working in the other direction, from Windows to Mac.

You don't need Macdrive for sharing files over the network, macdrive is only needed for a PC to read a Mac formatted Hard drive that is directly connected to a PC i.e Firewire Drive.

Yes you can write to a windows sharepoint on a mac this would be limited to their home folder unless you setup other permissions.
To setup windows sharepoints your best using a shareware utility called sharepoints
Now, I know all about the Mac side of things. It can read NTFS, read/write to FAT/FAT32, connect to Windows computers...etc. I have actually done all these things already, and know how to use them. I just want to make sure that I have the right idea before I go into working in the other direction, from Windows to Mac.
It does not matter what format hte pc drives are if your sharing over a network you only need to know about formatted drives if they are directly connected to the computer i.e firewire, or usb drives.

Filing of emails and synch through all apple devices

I have three email accounts - where do i set up folders so i can file emails and they synch through to ipad and phone? the folders have synched through but the emails have not left inbox on ipad and iphone

If your accounts are setup as IMAP, the e-mails, not the folders, should sync. As far as I know there is no way to do what you want with using something like Dropbox to put the e-mails in. You would then have to create the folders on the iPad/iPhone.

Has anybody built a BERTS generator and detector over a network?

I�m not exactly sure what your application is but here are the two paths I can see:
1) You�d like to do BERT testing on a data set. This data set is transferred to the PC via TCP/IP. In this case I would suggest using the standard TCP/IP VIs that are included with Labview 7.0 to transfer the data. These VIs are located in the following location on the Function Palette: �All Functions -> Communications -> TCP.�
There are also examples for using the TCP/IP VIs at the following location in the NI Example Finder: �Networking -> TCP & UDP�
Once this data is collected you could perform BERT on the data set using the Modulation Toolkit:

2) You�d like to do BERT testing on the actual TCP/IP traff
ic that�s going by on the Ethernet segment your PC is attached to. The TCP/IP data that is received by Labview and most other TCP/IP applications has already had data packets with errors in them removed and retransmitted by the networking card and/or the operating system, so the data you would see from Labview shouldn�t have any errors in it. To get the raw data from the Ethernet segment would require low-level Windows API calls and/or access to the networking card driver itself.

hi im a beginner of unix i want to know how to dump a workstation root and home partition in the server in the network or different location using ufsdump command inorder to restore it in a defferent location using ufsrestore command..im using nfs and solaris 8.because this is my problem our workstation is working and the other workstation got broken and i want to dump a working workstation not physically connect the hard disk in the working workstation..i will dump it in my office.over a network
please help me..this is useful for me cause this is always happen when workstation have powerfailure or not shutdown properly..

Create two shares on the nfs server and share it out across the network.
On the workstation that you want to use as your ufs image, mount that share point on the workstation, say /restore_root and /restore_home
mount nfs_server:/share_dir /restore_root
mount nfs_server:/share_dir2 /restore_home
Issue the following command (the assumption is that root is on slice 0 and home is on slice 3)
ufsdump 0f - /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0s0 | (cd /restore_root;ufsrestore xf -)
ufsdump 0f - /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0s3 | (cd /restore_home;ufsrestore xf -)

Please help with email and synching

Hoping someone could help with my email!! I have my show filed messages to off. So, when I go in the hub and click my one email account, it shows all my filed emails, such as a folder named old mail. Now, I can fix this by clicking on the dropdown and click inbox, then it shows just my inbox and no filed messages. But if I get a text or FB and enter that in the hub, then click back in the email account it then shows all my filed messages. I just want to see my inbox and that is it! Why is this not working right? I'm on 10.1 and using Microsoft Exchange. I have my old mail being synced, but I don't want to see my old mail. It's literally thousands of emails. If I unsych old mail then it is fine...but if I want to file something to the old mail file, then the whole thing sychs again and shows all my filed messages.
I don't know why this is becoming so difficult, but I just can't continue with my email folder showing all of these folders I don't want to see. The email is hard enough without seeing a line of the body of the email and only the subject....this is making it even more crazy for me. I really want to stick it out....but not sure if I can...and I want to. Is this a bug or just the new way BB handles email. Assuming its a bug being I have filed messages not to be seen.

Email and Phone number added to contact list without permission?

Just discovered an email and phone number added to my contact list under my name and its not mine! How did this happen? Can't call Apple because my 90 days has expired and they won't answer the question without me paying!! So frustrating!! Hoping someone has an answer for me??

What is the full message of the notification ? If your phone number and email address were added to, for example, the Messages app on another device then you will need to go to that other device to remove them from it

Email and Synching issues

How do I get my Hotmail account to synch with my droid.
If I delete an email on my computer --- it still shows on my phone. If I delete an email in my phone....it does not update on my computer. I am hitting the refresh but guessing there is something else missing.
Or have I purchased a phone where now I have to keep up my email in two locations....I am not going to be happy if that is the case!

How can I set up Hotmail?
For Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) users, Click here for instructions.
To setup Hotmail on your DROID RAZR once you have already set-up your phone, follow directions below. If you are addingHotmail account during your phone's initial startup, skip down to Set-up account menu (Instruction #3).
Open Applications tray, touch My Accounts
Select Add Account
You will be at the Set-Up accounts menu with several other social network icons.
Select Email icon
Enter your full Hotmail email address, including "@hotmail.com" domain name in all lower case.
Enter Hotmail password.
Leave Automatically configure account checked.

To contact support for your MacBook, use this link. Since a MacBook can be serviced worldwide, you should have no problems finding an Authorized Apple Service Provider that an check the battery of your computer. If this was an original Apple battery, tell Apple Support about it. The battery in my MacBook also go bigger, but I noticed that before the case got damaged. I took it to an Authorized Apple Service Provider and Apple replaced the battery for free. Take your battery out of the computer, just to be sure.

Did you buy the phone second hand? If the Activation Lock had been activated using a different Apple ID, the phone can't be used anymore, unless you remove the lock in iCloud, using the correct Apple ID to log into that previous owner account.

E7-00 and SIP over Internal Network (WiFi)

Hey all, maybe someone here knows something more about it.
I want to use an Sip account in our internal Network via WiFi. Our Telephone-Central (Panasonic TDE-100) supports connections to it via Sip (internal SIP-Server).
I can connect with my User-Account and it says connected.
I can make calls into the internal Telephone-Network
Now the Problem:
I cannot be called internal. The TDE is sending an INVITE to the E7 and the E7 declines it when a call is coming in.
I have also an external SIP Account with another Provider. That one works as it should.
Our Technical assistance for the TDE has no idea, neither the their technical guys from Panasonic.

I'm not sure whether an Apple TV can connect to a wifi hotspot, however even if it could you are going to experience extremely slow downloads and reach your devices data limits very quickly.
This is not a practical way to use an Apple TV.

How to take result of multiplication and copy over to another spread sheet without taking formula?

I am trying to copy over the results of my product formula and copy it over to a separate spreadsheet.
Every single time I try to copy the results over, the formula seems to tag along with it!
EXAMPLE: I took 17.99 and multiplied it by 3.5 to get 62.97. All I want is the 62.97 so that I can put it on a separate work sheet... every time I try doing that... it copies over the formula!
So frustrating. Is there anyway to get this done? Or do I have to multiply all 2000+ equations manually and type it in myself?
