Emailing groups from addressbook on iPhone

my question is that I have a few groups on my computer that I set up in addressbook. I would like to just be able to click on the group in mail on my iPhone and email the whole group without having to remember who is in what group. Is this at all possible I've tried a lot of different options my best one right now is to reply to all from an old email. but if its possible could someone please let me know. Thanks

Check Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>[email protected] account>tap your account at the top>tap Mail under Advanced at the bottom>make sure your name appears correctly under iCloud Account Information.

Does anyone know how to get Mail (or Addressbook) to omit trying to send emails to cards without email addresses when emailing to a group from Addressbook?
This seems like it should be simple but is a frustration when one gets warnings and then the mail failure notices.

I just posted this fix to another thread and thought it might be useful to post to all of the threads I read trying to fix the problem. Here it is:
Having the same issue over here with Mavericks 10.9.1 on a new Macbook Pro/Retina. Just now found a workaround/fix/whatever:
- click on your group in the group pane of the address panel
- click anywhere in the name pane and select all (command + a)
- click the "To:" or "Cc:" or "Bcc:" tab right above the group pane at the top of the address panel window.
The names of all of the individuals in the group will appear as an expanded list in whatever field you clicked. It takes a second or two to happen.

You can use an app like Speed Names to email members of an entire group.

Addressing using a group from AddressBook

When choosing a group (as setup in AddressBook) to add to the To: field,
it just throws ALL the names into the To: field, rather than one name into the To: field and the rest into the Cc: field or Bcc: field.
It is a nuisance having to remember to add the group to the Cc: or Bcc: field and then dragging one of the recipients up into the To: field.

You must be talking about the Mail.app and the Address Book on a Mac - this is the Using iPhone > Installing and using iPhone applications discussions area.
I'm not aware of any email client that provides what you are wanting - addressing a message to an address book group - placing the address book group name in the To: field and automatically one email address from the group is placed in the To: field and all other email addresses included with the selected group being placed in the Cc: or Bcc: field.
When I address a message to an address book group and I want all email addresses included in the group placed in the Bcc: field, I place the group in the Bcc: field and I enter my email address in the To: field. Not much point in placing an address book group in the Bcc: field and having one of the email addresses included in the group placed in the To: field unless you don't want the person placed in the To: field seeing the other email addresses you addressed the message to.

How can I move all my contacts into a single email group from all the other group?

I've got several email accounts, but my contacts are spread across them. Of course, when I access or search my contacts they do all get searched together, but I need to delete an account and this will result in me losing many contacts.
So before I do this, I want to consolidate all my contacts into my main personal email group account. But short of doing them one by one, I can't find a way and I have several thousand contacts at risk of being lost.
Can anyone advise me?

Go to your Contacts on your Mac - if more than one pick the most accurate; delete any contacts you don't want. Select all the contacts, and from the File menu choose 'Export...'>'Export vCard'. Save the resultant file safely: it will be your 'master' list.
Now delete all the contacts from whichever device has the most in it. Sync with iCloud. If necessary repeat with different Macs. The result should be that the deletions sync to iCloud and in the end you finish up with empty Contacts lists everywhere.
Now you can import your saved file to one of your Macs. Make sure you import it under 'iCloud' not 'On My Mac'. Then it should propagate iCloud and any other devices. Keep the saved file at least until you are satisfied that all is in order.

How to create an email group from fellow email recipients

I'm sorry for asking what has to be a very basic question but I've not been able to find the answer here or anywhere.
Basically, I want to cut/paste 40-50 email addresses from an email that was sent to me into my address book as a separate Group. ..These are email addresses for players on a sports team. ..I don't know their full names, companies, ph. numbers etc... and don't care to keep that info on hand.. Nor do I want to spend the time adding each as a separate contact. I just need to keep their email addresses. ..I may add addresses to this from time to time, or remove, etc.. For now, whenever I want to send an email to this group, I have to dig up the email sent to me that contained all the addresses as addidional recipients.

Email reply from ATT regarding IPhone upgrades

I finally got a long email back from ATT. Most of it was the same rhetoric thats in their fine print. Here is part of the email from the man who emailed me back. Does that mean we are basically screwed? I went on my account info to check pricing for the 3GS and it gives me 399 and 499$!! I think I'll pass on that!

Import Email Groups from O/E 5.0.6 to Mail 2.0.7?

I imported/exported all email and contacts from Outlook Express 5.0.6 to Mail 2.0.7, but Groups (lists containing multiple email addresses) weren't picked up. I guess I can recreate the Groups if I have to, but I would like to know if I'm missing something here and if so, how to get those O/E email groups over to Mail.

- It should not be a problem with 256 MB when running version 8.2.x unless the ASA is passing high load of traffic. However, if you decided to upgrade to version 8.3 and above in the future, it definitely require 1 GB of DRAM on ASA 5510.
- There is minor configuration changes from version 7.0 to 8.2. However, if you are running SSL VPN on version 7.x, then the client needs to be changed to AnyConnect SSL VPN. However, if you decided to upgrade to version 8.3 and above, there are major code changes.
- I don't see a problem upgrading all under one maintenance window. How much time it could take is something that I couldn't answer. It really depends on your environment and as you know with any upgrades/changes, it can go smoothly or can go horribly wrong, so i can't estimate on your behalf. If everything goes smoothly, I don't see it being too long, basically, upload the software to the ASA, change the boot image, and reload. And you would need to apply this to all the release mention in the release notes. I would normally like to estimate longer than shorter time (to give you enough time to rollback, just in case it goes wrong).

Email group from Contacts

This may be a silly question, but does anyone know how to send an email to a Group from your Contacts? Can't seem to figure it out in Mavericks.

But why should we have to type? Previously you could just intuitively drag the group name to the "To" field and it would populate it.
That implies that you have both Contacts and Mail open. When you type the group name in Mail's TO field it pops up into a list within the first couple of entered letters, and then you just make your selection. Contacts doesn't have to be open.

Emails missing from inbox on iphone

I have a good number of emails missing from the inbox on my iphone. My only email is gmail. The emails are random, not from any particular person or place. The messages are in the inbox on my imac and also when I access gmail account on my pc. They are simply missing on the iphone. If I access my gmail account on the pc and star one of the messages, then it does appear on my iphone in the starred folder. Remove the star and it's gone (still doesn't show up in inbox). I just noticed this yesterday because I was looking for something, so don't really know how long it has been like this. I have looked at iphone settings for mail but don't see anything to give me a clue why this is happening.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

There are two things you can try.
1. Move the file com.apple.mail.plist from your ~user/Library/Preferences folder to the desktop and relaunch Mail. If that's cured the problem, delete the Preferences file you moved to the desktop, otherwise move it back again overwriting the new one Mail just created.
2. Try reinstalling Mail from your Install DVD - this only reinstalls the app itself not the mailboxes, but take a backup of them first, just to be on the safe side.

Emailing photos from mail, not iphone. How?

Is there a way to email a picture to someone directly from the mail program, if that picture was imported into iphoto- When I try to attach the picture, I am not able to locate it becuase its in iphoto. Do they do that so you HAVE to email pics from iphoto?

No -there are many ways
if you are in iPhoto select the photo(s) and drag to the mail icon in the dock
if you are in mail create the message and look in the browse photos near the upper right of the new message - or click attack and look in the media browser in the lower left of the attach window - media ==> photos ==> iPhoto

Email errors from within 2 iphone apps

New occurrence, now in two different iPhone apps: twitter and 2do
trying to send email related to content from within the app. getting this error code (see attached screen shot from within 2do)
if I were just getting this message from within one app, I'd of course suspect the app, not the iphone. But now that I'm encountering it in two apps, and twitter to boot!), I'm suspicious this goes deeper than the apps
any guesses?
