Emailing Pages Exported from a PDF

Many of our users have large PDFs and would like to extract specific pages and email the extracted pages.
They select File, Attach to Email. Unfortunately, the Attach button is dimmed on the task pane.
However, if they save the extracted pages as a new document, it's fine.
Is there any way to do this without needing to save the extracted pages?

No, the file must be saved before it can be emailed.
This has changed with the last version of Acrobat. Before it was possible
to email an unsaved file, but not anymore.

How to get page number from the PDF using Javascript

We are having list of Single page PDF. The pdf are named in the order,
ISBN_Author_01.PDF (with real page number as i)
ISBN_Author_02.PDF (with real page number as ii)
ISBN_Author_03.PDF (with real page number as iii)
ISBN_Author_04.PDF (with real page number as 1)
ISBN_Author_05.PDF (with real page number as 2)
ISBN_Author_06.PDF (with real page number as 3)
ISBN_Author_nn.PDF (with real page number as 500)
Here each pdf has a page number and in sequential order.
The task is to check whether all the pdfs are in sequential order (i.e i, ii, iii, 1, 2, 3). If any page is missing, the script should throw an error report.
To do this task, I am writing a Javascript to get the real page number from the PDF.
Can anybody help me how to get the page number from the PDF using Javascript.

The "real" page number within a PDF is the count of the physical page starting at 0, zero.
pageNum numPages
The number printed on each page is the page label.
setPageLabels getPageLabel
You will have to open each PDF and your script would need to know the page label for that file. I would expect you would need to build a 2 dimensional array of the file names and the page label for the page within that array.

Export from Acrobat PDF to HTML

Is there any reliable way to export an Acrobat PDF file to HTML uising Acrobat 9 Pro Extended. When I try to do it from Acrobat, I get:
Tables that are a total, horrendous mess, nothing at all like the tables in the original Pdf.
Text that is randomly surrounded, for no apparrent reason, with span tags and completely worthless CSS. A single, uninterrupted sentence can have four or five spans, all with different CSS classes for no apparent reason. When you look at the four or five CSS classes, they all have the same, identical style attributes.
Exporting it to RTF results in a mess that is no less horrendous.
What I'm trying to do is take some rather lengthy PDFs (200 pages or more each) and use them as input to a RoboHelp WebHelp project. However, the output, whether I try an import into RoboHelp, an export from Acrobat Professional Extended, or one of several third party PDF converters is all so horrendous that it would be easier to completely retype the the 200 pages times sixteen or so documents than to attempt to cleanup the horrendous mess that results from an Acrobat export.
Why can't Adobe get their products to work together? At this pont, I've just about reached the conclusion that it is very clear that nother should ever, for any reason, under any circumstances be converted to PDF unlesss you absolutely have the documents in the original format locked up someplace because you can never get anything meaningful and transportable out of Acrobat. Please tell me that, in this day and time, the Acrobat PDF files can actually be converted in a meaningful way.

That's very true. However, you can create RTF documents with Word and WordPerfect and in this day and time, virtually everyone can read those, while they are ultimately transportable to a whole wide variety of formats, including HTML, without any significant degradation. If Adobe can't make PDFs transportable between document types in the same way, why on earth would anyone ever use the PDF format. All this hoopla about embedding video, sound, etc. is pretty much nonsense. You can pretty much do that in RTF, and few if any actually want to do it anyway.
All I can say is, why does Adobe advertise that you can export to file types such as HTML and RTF from Acrobat PDFs when you obviously can't. Why do they include the options on their menus. This is obviously a case of false and misleading advertisement. This is the day and time of transportable documents. Adobe has chosen to make Acrobat Pro an anachronistic and archaic dinosaur.
Once again, why create PDFs when they have such limited usefulness.

Does the email button word from a PDF generated report from 9ias?

Has anyone been able to get the email button from a PDF report generated from 9ias? I try to email the report as an attachment, and the file doesn't attach, and I dont receive anything. If I email a link, it just sends a link that directs you to the report server webpage, but you can't see the file.
Besides saving the file to the local file system and attaching the file to an email, has anyone been able to get this button to work?

What command are you using in your link or button?
For sending report output by email you must use:

How to create a flip page ebook from a pdf

I am looking to create an emailable version of a brochure which I currently create in InDesign. I am fairly comfortable with InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop but new to other CS4 software. What is the best way of creating a flip page ebook and which software will I need? Dreamweaver, Flash ?
Is there any ready made software out there for converting pdf's to ebooks or any sample code for creating a template?

With your InDesign document open, go to Export under the File menu. In the dialog which appears, navigate to the location to save the new files and select SWF from the dropdown menu. You will then be presented with a page of controls, allowing you to set the onscreen page size and other features, including "interactive page curl", which is the page-flipping effect. If you have previously placed navigation buttons on the master pages of the InDesign document, those buttons will then also be active on the Flash version.
After you click "OK" you will see a warning about converting the Transparency Blend Space (under the Edit menu) from CMYK to RGB -- unless you remember to do it beforehand.
You'll see a blue progress bar as the new files are created -- a SWF file and an HTML file. Presto!

Emailing pages documents as a PDF attachment

I create my reports in pages on my MacBook and keep them in a drop box folder.
I can then open them to read in their correct form in drop box, good reader or print central.
I can't open them in pages without loosing so much formatting that they are useless.
OK I shall just have to live with that.
What I wanted to do today was email a report that resides in my dropbox folder to a client in PDF format using my iPad
Any ideas how anyone.

Thanks for the tip. In the end I went back to GoodReader and renamed the file as .pdf before emailing and it appears to have arrived as a pdf file - which is what I wanted.
Rather interestingly, there is a PDF Reader Pro and a PDF Reader Pro Edition with similar graphics but from different developers. I'm surprised that the App Store allowed that.

I can no longer email pages document from my ipad since last update. they sit in outbox

I am no longer able to email documents created using "Pages" from my ipad. All emails sent within pages go to my out box and sit there with a big yellow exclamation mark next to them. This has only recently started happenning, since the last time I updated "Pages". Has anyone else had similar problem?

With CreatePDF you would not be able to delete pages. CreatePDF is only a convertion application which is use to convert different formats to PDF and vice versa.

Multi-page form from single PDF form

I need to create a 50 page form with calculated fields. Each page is basically the same except for a couple calculations. Is there a way to make this from a single form? I have one page complete and would like to copy it and the calculations so that I don't have to redo all the calculations.

Since the fields all need to be uniquely named, your scripts will have to be reworked to allow for the prefix of the page number and template name.

Why is there a vertical scroll bar with short page export from FW CS4?

When I view my exported page that is 400 pixels tall, I see a vertical scroll bar on the right of my IE7 browser even though the page is no where near the bottom of the browser. How do I eliminate that scroll bar?

Unfortunately this is not working in IE7. Below is my body tag (I edited the SLICES.XTT to prevent the margins) where I've added the overflow option:

But I still see the vertical scroll bar with a 400 px image exported as html, see attachments.

How to make an eps exported from a pdf to live paint

hey,
im working on Autocad plans in illustrator, they were printed to pdf and since you cant make a "live paint" group with a pdf, i converted it to an eps using adobe reader 8 pro.
but for some reason when i try to make a live paint group using the EPS it wont work.
any ideas?

Please help, I can not open the word document after I have exported from a PDF

Please help, I have bought this programme to convert PDF documents to word documents. All I find at the moment is that the document is not being converted and will not open once I have saved. It asks which programme I would like to select to open the saved file, and them does not work.
Please let me know where I am going wrong?

Good day Ko,
It sounds like the file extension may have been dropped when you saved the file to your computer.
Does your converted file have the .docx or .xlsx extension on the end? If it doesn't, try renaming the file and appending the file extension. You should be able to open your saved document in Word or Excel then.

Pages docs no longer open when I've exported them as pdfs

Here's a bizarre one...
We create our invoices in Pages, export them to pdfs then e-mail them to clients. Usually, the previous month's Pages doc provides the template for the next. But now I can't open many (not all...) of the old Pages docs that I've exported as .pdfs.
Anyone have any idea why it's happening?

HT4061 How do you send pages Document as an pdf attachment

When emailing pages document from pages on iPad. Sometimes it sends as a small PDF square.
Sometimes sends the entire document with any comments I made about the document.
When you send the document with afew lines of comment they go through as part of the document.
I have done it both ways and don't know the procedure. I just seem to luck out sometimes.

Start Pages and when in the view of the document thumbnails tap Edit.
Tap the document you want to send as a PDF to select it.
Then tap the Share icon, the icon of the curved arrow coming out of a rectangle.
Select Mail
Tap PDF
This will convert the document to a PDF which is attached to an email. If the original Pages document is a one page document the PDF will show all text in the email. If the document has more that one page all you'll see is the PDF attachment icon.
Address the email.
Add any additional text you want.
Tap Send to send the email.
