Emailing photos from yahoo mail via iphoto

I would like to be able to send photos directly from iphoto using the email button but i would need to send the photos from my yahoo mail account as I don't have apple mail. Is it possible to link yahoo somehow to my ibook so that when I click on email photo in iphoto it links to my yahoo account and the mail will be sent from yahoo instead. Do I make any sense at all? If anyone has any idea, please reply in as 'basic' a way as possible - thanks.

The way it works is as follows.
1. You upgrade your free Yahoo Mail account to a Yahoo Mail Plus mail account. (FYI: Google Mail is free internet based email that offers free integration with Apple Mail, called POP access. This integration is what you are paying for with Yahoo.)
2. You obtain instructions from Yahoo on how to use Apple Mail with your Yahoo Mail account. They give you the server information (there is a server for outgoing mail and a server for incoming mail) and you supply your Yahoo user name and password. Open Apple Mail and go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts to supply this information.
3. You can then send and receive your Yahoo email through the Apple Mail program instead of going to Yahoo through your web browser. You can also use your Mac's address book now for sending email.
4. Most importantly to you, you can now click the Email Photo button in iPhoto. iPhoto will open Apple Mail with the photo attached, and you can then send the photos to whoever you want. The email will appear as though you sent it through the web based Yahoo mail.

Another way is to flag the photos, go to the Flagged smart album, select all and email from there. Then unflag the photos.

How do I inport 25 photos from my e-mail to iphoto?

I am trying to save a photo I received as an attachement, using mac mail and I have done the right click and chosen export to iphoto but nothing happens. I've looked all through my iphoto pics, by import date, etc. and it isn't there. I also looked in photo stream, the photo isn't there. I've tried more than once. I am using OS 10.8.2 and iphoto 11.
I've also tried to save the photo and the process opens asking me where to save it, but iphoto is not one of the places I can choose.
I saw the suggestion to save it to my desktop and then try and move the photo into iphoto. But since I'm using mac mail and iphoto, it seems that it should be more straight forward to handle this process than having to use the desktop. Am I missing a step so it will go to iphoto when I right click on export to iphoto?
Any suggestions?

Emailing Photos Using Yahoo Mail

Hi,
I can't email a photo from the photo app.
I click on a photo, add it to a new email and add a recipient and then send it.
It always appears to send but never arrives at the recipients mailbox. Have tried sending to friends and to my other email addresses.
Is there something I'm missing here?

If they iPhone is saying it has been sent, that indicates it has been uploaded to and acknowledge by your outgoing mail server. However, to further isolate the issue, would you mind trying the following steps as a means of troubleshooting?
1. Create a trial .Mac account on www.mac.com - you do not need to enter billing information, and you will not be automatically charged. You also don't need a Mac to have a .Mac account.
2. Add that email account to your iPhone, using the .Mac option in Settings -> Mail -> Add Account
3. Set the .Mac account to the default account to troubleshoot
4. Attempt to send a picture.
If it arrives at the destination it indicates your iPhone is communicating with the SMTP server, but the message is being filtered or stopped somewhere else along the route to the recipient.

Emailing photos from iPhoto 09 via Mail always produces same photo size

I'm trying to email photos from iPhoto 09 using the Email button. No matter what photo size I choose (Small, Medium, Large, Actual Size) in the subsequent compose dialogue the resulting email always shows a small embedded photo. Any tips?

how do i email photos from iPhoto via Office for Mac. Entourage mail client used to let me select photos directly from iPhoto - Office does not.

Several possible ways
1 - search these forums - there have been hacks reported that are reported to allow you to use OutLook as the e-mail client for MS Outlook
2 - drag photos from the iPhoto window to the Outlook icon in the dock
3 - drag photos (or export them - file menu ==> export) to a desktop folder and attach from there
4 - from an Outlook email use the attach to attach photos - look in the lower left hand corner of the attach window under media ==> photos ==> iPhoto

Why when I email photos from iPhoto using the share option does the email not show up in my sent items box in Mail. The emails are arriving ok but I do not have a record of the email being sent. Bit confused. I am new to my iMac .

If you are using the iPhoto email client there is no sent mail box
My suggestion is to set Mail as your email client and then you have everythin in Mail and have a sent mail box

To email photos from within iPhoto you need to use one of the following applications for email:
1. Apple's Mail (it comes with your Mac)
2. Entourage
3. AOL
4. Eudora
Only these four apps allow direct emailing from within iPhoto. You make your choice in the iPhoto Menu -> Preferences -> General pane.
OF course, you need to set up these clients to work for email with your own email settings. Fir details on how to do that you'll ned to consult the Help on the particular app.
If you use Web-based email, you cannot email from within iPhoto. In that case you can use one, some or any of the following:
For 10.5 users: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.

To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto. With 10.5 you can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:

If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
Other options include:
1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

You can't unlock files on their machines.
iPhoto sends HTML emails and not every email application (or user) knows how to work with these.
Send Plain text emails via Mail instead. That's pretty foolproof.

iPhoto does not manage contacts - address book does - I do not know if it has the capability to access Yahoo Mail contacts although I doubt it.

Are you able to email from Mail with those two accounts? If so:
1 - go to iPhoto's Accounts preference pane and delete both accounts. Now add them back and try again.
2 - a better solution IMO is to set Mail as the email client for iPhoto is iPhoto's General preference pane. This gives you better access to your contacts, a sent copy of all emails and, if you want a layout similar to iPhoto's, photo layouts located in Mail's stationary.

Cannot find my themes when I try to email photos from iPhoto?

I learnt for the first time yesterday how to email photos from iPhot. (I have only just bought my Mac Book Pro in December). The first time I used it I saw themes and was delighted and then the next time I tried it there was nothing. It went straight to the email. I am extremely disappointed because I wanted to use them. Have tried everything to get them back. Repaired the disk, verified the disk. But to no avail. Can anyone out there help me please?
