Emailing with sound from Centro camcorder?

Has anyone sent videos via email, with sound from your Centro camcorder?
I was so bummed, sent several videos with several friends, to a friend for her Birthday and when she received them there was no sound or option for?
I'm hoping I just missed something? Thanks

Hello!
You could send out vids via email but those you send it too need to use the Quicktime player to play them since they are in 3GP or 3GPP format. They can get the play via http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/

Change Calendar default custom alert preference to email with sound?

Most annoying aspect of the new Apple Calendar is that the preference is pre-set for 2 email alerts at the same time before each event. It's time-consuming to re-set a custom alert time, eliminate the 2nd alert and set my preferred custom alert method every time I add an event.
I want to re-set my default preference for "email with sound" and have one alert at the "time of the event" unless I choose to add additional alerts.
Is this possible?
Note: I tried changing my Alert preference to "at time of the event" in Calendar Preferences, restarted and the default still shows up as alerting me twice, both 30 minutes before even though it does show as "at tme of the event" in Preferences.

I do I import a video with sound from a Sony CX150 Handycam to a Mac Book Pro? I imported the video but there is no sound.

Type of video file, .mov, .avi., etc.? Which application are you using to play the video.

Emails with sound

I receive emails occassionally that are accompanied with sounds(music, or file states "contains sounds")but the mail program doesn't seem to be able to play these sounds like the web browser does. Maybe a stupid question, but is the Apple mail program able to do this? Or is it not set up to play music etc.

I get .wav atatchments from my CallVantage voice mail.
In the view pane I see the audio play bar but I get no sound.
If I save the atatchment to the desk top and then launch it, everything is fine.
How do I get the sound from the email view?

When I select a sound email or video, decide I want to go to another video or email, the sound from the first video continues to completion before I can listen to my new selection. How can I stop this?

How do I stop the sound from a video or email when I want I click out of the video. Presently, the sound continues and I have to escape out to home screen to stop it.

Now as you may know there is some icons at the bottom of the mail app, at the top left conner you should have the inbox button and on the upper right conner you should have two arrows to shift between emails. If any of those options works try :
Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings
If that does not work try to re add the account
Last but not least, restore as new.

How ro export small (compressed) files (.mpg) with sound from FCP or compr.

I have some dv pal footage that I need to store in in very small files. Then I need to convert it back to dv, for editing.
The quality (regarding artefacts and all that) is not important. The stuff was ripped from DVDs originally and are only to be used as reference.
Can I export an .mpg file with sound muxed into it from FCP or Compressor?
H.264 produces to big files.

Hm, what a weird workflow.
I presume you are trying to edit with this stuff in FCP, so my question is, If you are grabbing media off DVDs, and converting with MPEG Streamclip or some such thing, and then trying to down-rez to edit with proxy footage, how do you plan to use timecode to reconnect to the high-res media when your cut is done?
h.264 can produce to big files or small files, depending on the settings of the file you tell it to produce to.
Consider that the amount of time you would spend converting media back and forth to low-res formats of lousy quality could be much more valuable than the cost of a firewire drive which you could use to convert your DVDs directly to DV, which you will find much easier to work with.

OSX or Logitech driver incompatibility with sounds from web

If sound comes from certain websites,
OSX (or Logitech driver) have a problem outputting it to the proper port.
I sent feedback to Apple,
but I wonder if anyone else has experienced this or have any comments?

For sounds from certain websites,
If headset is connected to USB port,
SystemPreferences>Sound>Output
does not honor "Line Out" user's selection.
Problem steps:
1) Connect:
Speakers ("Line out") to Built in audio port
Logitech USB Headset to USB port
2) Verify
AppleMenu>SystemPreferences>Sound>Output is set to "Line Out"
3) Play sound using some applications and websites
(for example iTunes, Skipe, http://www.apple.com, etc)
Verify sound comes out of speakers as expected
and SystemPreferences>Sound>Output's
Mute or Output Volume settings respond as expected.
So all hardware works.
4) Play sound from other websites
(for example http://antoniocarlosjobim.brazilmaxmusic.com)
Verify sound mistakenly comes out of Headset.
(and SystemPreferences>Sound>Output
does not respond to Mute or Output Volume changes).
5) Issue is the same for many browsers (Safari, FIre Fox, IE).
Thus, it is not a browser issue.
It happens for sounds from movie or music files.
Thus, it is no a specific file format issue.
It seems likely a Logitech driver/OSX issue
(or we can always blame the websites)

Yes, ideally all websites would follow W3C standards.
But many don't.
Until then, as you suggest, we should:
1) send a note to the site informing that they should test on both Platforms and
not following standards hurts them before a growing base of users.
As Mac's market share increases (as it is positioned to do),
web masters will get better at testing their sites on both Platforms, and
glitches like this are less and less likely to occur.
But it is not enough to blame the website and
expect the consumer to pick a fight with all non-compliant web masters
(I can't imagine my dad, or the majority or non-technical people, doing this).
That would let the consumer have bad user experience that wastes everyone's time.
This is not "it just works", and ultimately hurts Apple's reputation for most consumers.
In cases like this, I believe it is also important to:
2) send a note to Apple so they are aware of the glitch and can write more robust driver
to handle non-compliant sites gracefully like Logitech did.
This will give "it just works" user experience.
Mac is vastly superior to Windows in nearly every respect and already handles most non-compliant situations great.
This is a really a minor issue (but real, so ball is also on Apple's court to look at).
3) acknowledge the glitch, so we all aware of the facts.
That way Apple will look at fixing it and
consumers will have a workaround (use the headset)
and know it is a known issue they don't need to waste time and aggravation investigating.
In summary, until apple fixes the driver, send note to website and use headset.

Unable to move email with attachments from local folders to icloud

I'm in the process of migrating my email to icloud. I've been able to move all emails without attacments from local folders to the cloud but evrytime I try to move emails with attachments I get one of two errors, either the imap server times out or it's unable to establish a secure connection (SSL).
Anyone else come across this or point me in the right direction.
And yes - I have been searching Google all afternoon and have not been able to find anything.

I do not have an answer to your problem but am interested in following this thread because I would like to get off the Mail application and do everything in iCloud. My problem is I have a ton of messages in Mail folders, on my MacAir. I don't know how to get them to iCloud folders. At this point I keep the attachments in folders on the HD so I don't need the attachments to come but I do need the message.

Trying to work with sound from 2 cameras in multicam mode

I recorded a wedding service with 2 cameras simultaneously from 2 angles. I captured the footage from both cameras and I would now like to use portions of the sound on camera 1 at some points and portions of camera 2 sound at other times. When I go into multi camera edit mode all the sound from both cameras is combined onto one sound track. I now do not have the option to mix between the 2 sound tracts. If I use the audio mixer before I cut the 2 cameras together, I loose that audio mix when when I go into multicamera mode because not only is the audio combined but it has been put into a new sequence and is in a different spot on the timeline. What can I do to solve this problem?

Blank Emails with Attachments from Apple Mail if received into Gmail IMAP.

I have noticed that if I receive an email with an attachment from someone using Apple Mail to my Gmail IMAP account (in Apple Mail) the body of the text is blank. I get the attachment but the only way to read the body of the email is to show the Raw Source. Has anyone else had the same problem and does anyone have a solution?

Not me and I use gmail's IMAP service with Apple Mail frequently. You're probably better off posting this question on google's gmail forum which you can get to via the help section on the gmail.com web site.

Send email with attachment from Q2 notification to external email

Hi,
Whenever I create a Q2 notification, I want to send the vendor, details of the notification as attachment. Now it is copying the "coordinator" from partner function. But not copying vendor data in select partner function. Here I have to manually select the vendor. Another question here is that, this email should trigger to the email id of vendor maintained in the vendor master. This email address will be an external id. Please suggest the best way to send email to vendor along with attachment.

Email with attachment from servlet

Hi. We're using Java 1.4.2_12 and need to send emails with an image file attachment from a servlet. The JavaMail API looks interesting but wasn't sure if it works with our (ancient) version of Java. Your help is much appreciated. Thanks.

I didn't find it. Generally people who write Java APIs like that will document restrictions (like "Requires Java 5 or later") if they exist. You won't generally find "Works will all versions of Java" in the documentation because that's just a basic assumption of Java.
