Emails are being deleted after a few minutes

I have an iPad 3 running IOS 7.  I have a Yahoo email account.  Recently, the ios system has been automatically moving my incoming emails to the Trash mailbox after a few minutes.  How can this be fixed?  Thanks

Wow. That's one busy radio band.
Can you elaborate if the clients having these issues are connected to 802.11b or 802.11a radio? Would you also be able to provide what data rates are enabled?
Judging from the carrier test output, it looks like you've got a very strong co-channel interference issue.

emails in my 'trash' are being deleted after about 5 weeks, but I want to retain them. I have selected 'never' on the 'permanently erase deleted messages' option, so I'm not sure why this happening? any ideas?

iCloud emails in the Trash are deleted after 30 days on the website, and this over-rides the 'never' setting in Mail. There is no way of stopping this. (The Trash isn't really intended as a permanent storage area.)
Try this workaround. Go to http://www.icloud.com and go to the Mail page. In the sidebar, click on '+' to the right of 'Folders' to create a new folder; give it a suitable name.
Now click on the cogwheel icon at bottom left. At the bottom of the pane which opens, set the 'Move deleted messages to' drop-down menu to your new folder.
I'm not sure whether, when you delete messages in the Mail application, they will go to the Trash or your new folder - you'll need to experiment. I have a nasty feeling that Mail will simply move them to the Trash as before. If this is the case you will have to move them to your new folder manually - dragging messages directly to this folder rather than hitting the delete key will be the easiest way.

  • Why is my email being deleted after a few weeks?

There are no more details. For the past 2 months you have been deleting my email after 2-3 weeks. Why? And stop doing it!

Firefox doesn't delete your emails, it's a web browser, not an Email provider. Contact your Email provider (yahoo, gmail, aol, etc.)

  • Received emails are being deleted from Mail but still showing on webmail!!

Hey people! I wonder if anyone can help?
I hope i'm not missing something really easy here. A couple of weeks ago i thought i was deleting emails from my inbox and then from my trash with no problems and then imagine my surprise when i get a message saying that my mailbox is almost full and i can't receive any messages.
I promptly logged on to a webmail site and entered my details and was greeted with every single email i have received since i got my new mac!! I have rebuilt mailboxes to no real effect and was just wondering if anyone can offer a solution? After all i don't really want to keep having to log on to webmail to delete all my items every few weeks.
Just to add, my email account is with BT and is NOT a .mac account!
I look forward to anyone helping me please?? I'll wash your car in return or something

Is the account a POP type account?
If so, go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Advanced tab for the account preferences, is "Remove copy from server" selected? If yes, what is the setting below?
I use "Right Away" for my POP accounts.

  • Messages are being deleted automatically

We have been using TB successfully on Windows 7 for a couple of years having previously used Outlook.
My wife's incoming e-mail messages are being deleted after one month. They are also deleted from Webmail. The ISP says that they have not been deleted by the ISP but by a 3rd party program. We noticed the problem when searching for an old message. (I just checked using an old XP-enabled computer and all the old messages are there except nothing since June 25 2014.)
I noted this morning that all of my sent messages have disappeared. For the moment at least they are still on the ISP's webmail.
I checked our TB settings regarding retention and deletion, including those of 3 addresses that don't have the problem. They all look OK.
Can somebody please advise on what our next steps should be? Many thanks.

If you had pop and now want to use imap you need to create another (new) email account in Mail.
When you start creating a new account, press the option key when you click the Continue button and you will be given the choice of creating the account for pop or imap.

  • Are the emails actually being deleted?

Heya guys, two very quick questions.
First of all I view my googlemail through my iPad and when I go into edit the red button says 'archive' instead of delete. This is still red and on my computer this button does actually say delete.
Is it just using a different word or are my emails being archived somewhere in my account or on my iPad?
The other thing is regarding the wifi. I use my iPad in coffee shops quite a lot (based in UK) and often I get a msg saying ' cannot connect to wifi', even though the wifi signal in strong. Sometimes after a few minutes it suddenly connects and works fine. Is this their wifi being naff or my iPad being funny?
Also while I'm seeking advice, I've always wondered if there was an app or some other way to see how fast a connection the wifi I am on is working. Sometimes I find that my Internet runs faster when I turn off the wifi and flick to 3G.
    Thanks,
    Lee

Google don't want you to actually delete stuff. When you "delete" a Google email on iOS, it simply moves it to the archive folder. You can see this on the iPad by going to the "ALL Mail" folder.
In the web interface for GMail, there are 2 buttons, the default is for Archive and the other is for Delete. Actually even Delete does NOT seem to do so! It moves it to the Bin folder as far as I can see, from where you can permanently delete it. On the iPad, the Trash folder maps to the Bin folder in GMail.
WiFi can be tricky at the best of times, but the iPad, especially with iOS 4.2 does seem to be particularly picky about connections.
Most Cafe WiFi's are open hot-spots where you have to go to a web page after connecting. The iPad does support this but the page does not always appear (it does not use the normal Safari interface). I often have to manually open Safari and force a page refresh (it doesn't matter what page) before the iPad pops up the network's login page.
Please note that these kind of WiFi networks are HIGHLY insecure, I recommend that you don't visit ANY site where you need to log in, even Facebook.
Apple do not allow apps that test network speed!
Your only choice is to connect to one of the web sites that tests end-to-end connection speed.
In theory, you could write a web page that tested the speed in JavaScript locally though I don't know how accurate it would be.

Make sure Sync Apps is checked on the Apps tab of your iTunes sync settings and that all the apps are checked that you want on your phone.  Also be sure that your computer is authorized for all Apple IDs used to purchase your apps (and other media) in Store>Authorize this Computer.

  • Keyboard and trackpad freeze after being idle for a few minutes

I have a early 2008 MBP and just today the keyboard and trackpad freeze after not using it for a few minutes.  I was at work when it happened.  I plugged it in and started doing something else and a few minutes later came back and i couldn't move the mouse or do anything with the keyboard, but processes were still running.  For example, I have a fan speed app that sits in the toolbar, and it was still showing current fan speed.  So I restarted it, and it did it again.  So the next time it happened, I closed the lid and opened it up and it fixed it.  It's happened several times now after a few minutes of non use and I just close the lid and it fixes it.  Also, there was a period when I was using my computer for a couple of hours non stop and it didn't have a problem.  Only when I'm not touching the keyboard or trackpad does it do it.  since this keeps happening i have verified the disk in disk utility, done a hardware reset with cmd+opt+p+r, ran through system profiler to see if there were any problems with no results, and it still does it.  Anyone have any ideas?
It should be noted that not only does the battery not work for more than about 2 minutes, the left I/O board appears to be dying.  The power chord takes a considerable amount of wiggling and adjusting before it finds a place where it will actually charge. The audio out and the USB on that side are the same way. So I am aware of that problem. Also, I have had to take out the right side fan multiple times and disassemble and oil the bearing because it's going bad, which requires taking the top plate off, but I haven't had to do that for over 6 months. In my mind if the problem was caused by taking the top plate off, that would fry the entire top plate, which happened once when a technitian at a local company took the computer apart for a waranty repair.  All of these problems considered, I don't think they would have anything to do with the fact that the mouse and keyboard suddenly won't work after about 5-10 minutes of sitting idle. I have done nothing different since yesterday that would explain why it does this.
Also, I can't do anything with the install disk because the CD drive is dead.  But that's mostly because it was a piece of garbage to begin with.
    Any Ideas would be helpful.

After doing some more digging I was watching processes in Activity Monitor to see if I could see what process is failing.  I think the problem with with Chrome. It only happened when Chrome was open. And since then I reinstalled it and the problem has so far gone away.  So, I think the problems is solved.

A better solution is if your email provider uses IMAP. IMAP sync email folders between multiple devices. Meaning any device will receive the email, all sent email can be seen on the devices. If you delete email from one device the email is deleted from all the other devices. Check with your email provider to see if they offer IMAP services.
If they do not your choices are to 1) configure email on the PC to keep Mail on the mail server or 2) change email providers to something like Gmail or Outlook.com (as examples). FWIW I use Cox IMAP email and fully sync email between a Win 8.1 Update 1 laptop, a Win 7 desktop, an iPad 4, an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 5S.

  • IPad Personal Hotspot antenna shuts off after a few minutes of non-use. This happens in both Verizon 3G and LTE areas. Turning off LTE does not help. Turning Personal Hotspot off and then on works. Does this happen on Mini and Retina?

    Fixed!
Two things together have restored connectivity.
    1.  I changed the name under Settings > General > About > Name from My Name's iPad to iPad of My Name.  I read somewhere that iOS 7.0.1 or 7.0.2 (I forget which) sometimes had issues with apostrophes here.  Easy enough to test.
    2.  I then reset (again) the APN settings under Settings > Cellular Data > APN Settings > Personal Hotspot and reentered our provider's info (APN, Username, Password) there.
I don't know WHY it worked, but the personal hotspot is now happily sharing (again) internet connectivity with my MacBook Pro.

  • MS Excel - can't enter data after a few minutes of operation

Ever since upgrading to Yosemite, MS Excel partially freezes after a few minutes of being open.  Specifically, I cannot enter data or numbers into any cell, although other functions (including cut/pasta and entering data in the Search box) continue functioning fine.  The work-around solution is to close and reopen Excel, although after several minutes the same problem repeats.
    Any help is appreciated.
