Why do new emails arrive fast on my iPhone and my iPad but I have to wait for hours on my iMac ?
They don't... and there are emails I only get on my iPhone 5, later on on my iPad and they don't arrive on my iMac... at all, NOT GOOD.

Brand new to the MacBook Pro world. First Apple laptop (or Apple computer at all for that matter) so of course I have some questions. I think I am correct in saying that basically each Apple device has to be separate and apart from another even if they reside in the same household. Meaning that each one has to be logged on to a separate and unique Apple account and email address for things like Facetime and iMessage to work properly. So, with that said......If I personally own the iPhone and MacBook Pro but only have one Apple account how can I make them both work separately and independent of each other??? The problem I've noticed is that Facetime and iMessage do not work and conflict with each of the two devices.

Congratulations, and welcome to the Mac World. Actually, you can use an Apple ID, together with iCloud to make your devices work together. Both devices can be connected to the same Apple ID, and use Facetime, Messages, and email together.
As long as both of your devices are updated to the latest OS, OS X 10.9 Mavericks for your MacBook and iOS 7.0.4 for your iPhone, you can:
On Mac:
1. Open System Preferences-iCloud
2. There should be a button somewhere that says, "Add Account".
3. Use your Apple ID to log in.
4. Make sure to enable your Messages, Facetime, and email accounts.
5. There is no Step 5.
On iPhone:
1. Open Settings-iCloud.
2. There should be a button somewhere that says, "Add Account".
3. Use your Apple ID to log in.

I have multiple devices in my family. Each of us has an iPhone and an iPad. Is there a way for each of us to have our own Apple ID but one account so we can all get the same music, movies, books, etc. I can't see paying twice for something in the same family.
Welcome to the world of digital media. Your can't really transfer it. I don't know what the rules are about transferring to your spouse but I do know that in some cases when you die, your heirs cannot inherit your digital media. This is why there is still an advantage to buying the CD since the usage rights belong to whomever holds the physical media.
A possible workaround is to burn the songs to a music CD with yout account (tracks only without song titles) and then having your wife upload it as a regular music CD onto her account. It's been a while since i've done this so I'm not sure if it would work now.
Please note that I'm not advocating copyright and/or TOS violations. I'm only suggesting ways to copy music for your own personal use which has traditonally been permitted. I only did this because I wanted to convert iTunes songs to mp3 files so I could burn them onto a data CD for use in my car. It would make sense that since married couples are a joint entity, this would be personal use.
Also, I'm not a lawyer so don't take this as legal advice. -

If you have a Mac, sign into System Preferences>iCloud with your iCloud login if not already signed in. If you have Windows, download the iCloud Control Panel and sign in if not already done so. Then follow the relevant instructions here:

Failing all this, open the iTunes Store in iTunes, click 'Account' in the Quick Links on the right, then click 'Edit' next to 'Payment method' and remove your credit card. -
My calendar appears on my iPhone and my iPad, but not on my Macbook Pro.

John WillettsFirst check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings. -

If I delete emails from my phone, why do they still go to my iPad and desktop and vice versa? What's the solution to this, other than not getting the emails in 3 places?
I think the best solution would to just sync all email accounts and turn on and off which accounts you want on a device by going to Settings>Mail/Contacts/Calendars>name of e-mail account>toggle Mail On/Off switch.
I do not own multiple iDevices (maybe one day I will), try that and see if it works. -

A separate issue is that the Apple calendar on my iPad has stopped working. It opens but then shuts itself down after about 1 or 2 seconds. I tried to reset everything, but I come up against the same requirement for a code that I can't remember.
Thats a seperate issue. Try closing the cal. app completely from the muti-task bar. Tap the home button twice until all the open apps appear. Hold an app untill they all start to jiggle, then you close the cal app with the red circle. Press home button again to go back to home screen.
You can also try removing any re-ocurring evernts or all day event from march 30 and april 1, see if that helps.

Reboot device by pressing both the home button and sleep/wake (power) buttons at the same time for 10-15 seconds until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings (or for network connection issues 'reset network settings').
(no media or data will be deleted from the device, this will only take a minute). -
When I first got my phone it worked perfectly fine with the wifi. Although later on I began to have problems connecting it. It will randomly disconnect from the wifi and when I try to retype the password it tells me it is wrong, although it is right. It will eventually work but in its own time, a message will pop up and allow me to type in the password and it will work. But sometimes it takes an hour or more and sometime it takes 10 minutes. I've seen where other people have had this problem but I don't know how to fix it. I'm not sure if it's an issue with my phone or if it's with my wifi. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Does this happen with all Wi-Fi hotspots? A specific one?
Have you tried forgetting the Wi-Fi connection and then reconnecting to it?
What about power cycling the Wi-Fi router? -
Well thats my question, whats the protocol, i get in to the store tell them what what configuration and upgrades to ram or whatever do i need, and do i wait a couple of days to pick it up or how dose that work
ThanxPleasr note that if you do order a 'built to order' MBP, avoid RAM and HDD upgrades. You can save money by purchasing these through third party vendors and installing them yourself. This will not void your warranty and Apple will still make a handsome profit.

Thank'sYes you can do that assuming they are all on the same network. The ID you use on any of the devices for the iTunes Store can be any valid ID, but you need to use the same ID in the home sharing settings on all devices.

There is no password to Thunderbird. The password you need is to the email account. Contact the email provider for password reset.

I cannot send or forward email but I do receive mail OK. All of the same settings work on my wife's IPhone and our Ipad. All are running on IOS 5.0.1. I get a message of your email has been put in your outbox because the receipent "%@" does not allow relaying.
Try deleting the mail account and setting it back up again.
