Emails delete from iphone but not from my pc?

Hello all,
I have been noticing a problem lately but sadly cannot put my finger on when it started to occur because I was not paying enough attention to the details until it was too late.
I have an iPhone 3GS with all the latest updates and such. I have a personal Yahoo! email account set up on my phone as well as my university Outlook email. This is an "outlook live" email that I access by going to outlook.com on a computer, not the kind of inbox that you have to download. I receive new emails from my Outlook account on my phone with no problem, but when I delete emails from my phone, then log on to my email on a computer, the emails are not deleted. I do most of my emailing from my phone, so I was shocked to log in to my email on my pc one day to discover that I had 132 emails even though I had deleted nearly every single email that I received. This appears to have started abruptly. I have had this account set up on my phone for many, many, many months and have not had any problems. I haven't changed my password or anything like that... Has anybody else experienced this problem and how did you fix it?

This is possible with one of two ways.
With an IMAP account that is accessed as an IMAP account with the iPhone's Mail app and the same with an email client used on your computer for accessing the account. If you don't use an email client on your computer for accessing the account, this will work when accessing the account via webmail access using a browser on your computer.
It is possible to access a Yahoo account as an IMAP account with the iPhone's Mail app but it is not possible to access the account as an IMAP account with an email client on your computer. Yahoo doesn't support accessing a Yahoo account as an IMAP account with an email client on your computer.
With a POP account along with the setting for the account on the iPhone to remove messages from the server after being downloaded when moved from the account's Inbox mailbox or in 7 days after a message has been downloaded.

You need an IMAP or Exchange account to do this. I believe Yahoo offers IMAP, at an additional cost, so check with them.

Using a MS Exchange account - if I delete a message on my iPad, how can I ensure it is not deleted off the server? I know how to do this with POP accounts on the iPhone but I can't find the same option on the MS Exchange account settings on the iPhone.

I don't believe it is possible. I'll have to take a look, but there is no setting I'm aware of that will selectively sync like that, preventing deletions. Exchange and IMAP accounts provide full synchronization. If you want to get it out of sight on the phone, but not delete it entirely, move it to a folder.

I get my email on my iPhone but not receive it on my MacPro

I have checked all of my settings, but since the end of December, I have not been able to get incoming emails to my Mac POP account. They all go to my phone. My Mac is running OS 10.10.1; iPhone 4S is running iOS 8.1.3. Ideas?

There are three basic types of incoming mail account: POP, IMAP, and Exchange. With a POP account, mail is downloaded from the server to the mail reader (such as Mail) and then usually deleted from the server. With IMAP and Exchange, the mail stays on the server indefinitely and is synchronized with all mail clients that access the account.
If more than one user or device is accessing the same POP account and deleting messages after downloading them, the first one to connect after a message is delivered to the server will retrieve it, and the others will never see that message. In Mail and probably all other mail readers, there is a setting to leave messages on a POP server after downloading them. Ideally, though, you should avoid using POP at all if you have multiple clients for the same account.

It's a very good idea to use an external hard disk to take load off the Main Start-Up (Mac OS) hard disk.
BUT there are some VERY Important things to know.
A. NEVER move via DeskTop/Finder or alter any folders named
• iMovie Events - or -
• iMovie Projects
As this will result in disaster (hard to impossibly to mend)
All moving's of Events and Projects must be done Within the iMovie Application to be done in a Safe Way
B. The External/Second Hard Disk
• MUST BE - Mac OS Extended (hfs) formatted for VIDEO - UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange works for most things BUT NOT FOR VIDEO - whatever program is used iMovie or FinalCut or iDVD doesn't matter - VERY IMPORTANT ! ! !
• Should be a FireWire one as USB/USB2 performs badly to me especially when filling up. (Thunderbolt might be even better - have non to test)
BUT when reg. iPhoto Library.
• Yes it can be moved
• Yes iPhoto can be directed to find it
• BUT - iMovie can not find those out-localized iPhoto libraries (AS FAR AS I Learned up to now 12-April-03 - anyone with more insight may kindly set me into a possibly way to do this)
So I've outsource my iMovie Event's (most important as they take space) and Projects (not so important as they are very small - no movies in them only text document conducting how the Events are to be viewed) - BUT iPhoto stays - will not touch it.

I have added a new email address but kept my Id, but I get busy when trying from iPhone to iPad as they are clashing. Like find my iPhone app hence trying to keep them all on one account

You're using a POP account instead of IMAP. That's how it works.

I am finding that some of me emails (mainly from companies not my friends) are coming through to my iphone but not coming through to my iMac.

For quite a while now I have missed some important emails that have come through to my iphone but not downloaded to my iMac, its happening more and more recently. It is really fustrating, I have looked at my iMac and can't find anywhere to adjust the settings to let through the missing emails, the emails that are not coming to my home pc are normaly from large companies, some from my credit card company and comformation for hotel bookings etc, etc.

Problem might me with how your e.mail is set up if you're using POP3.
If you're using POP3 then you need to add "recent:" (without the quotation marks) before your username on both your iMac and your iPhone.
I use POP3 with Virgin Media and they have well documented help on this aspect.
This now works fine for me and I no longer miss any e.mails.

On my mac i accidentally deleted all my documents and now i cant play my songs from itunes but can on my phone and my photos are there but when i open them they are not but i can see some on my iphone but not all. How do i get these back or are they lost?

At the AT&T store. Tried using iCloud but only 120 songs were transferred and when I access my iTunes account now it only shows 120 and not the 450 anymore that I purchased on my old phone. Tried to sync again from the phone to iTunes and it still not working.
I purchased everything under the same apple ID account I called apple support and spent almost 2 hours with tech support for assistance and we got disconected and they never called me back.

If your Apple ID was changed from your old account, you may have to change it back to your old account to be able to sign out and then change it back after that is done. Take a look at the article below for more information.

Removing albums from iPhone but not iTunes

I have the 16gb iPhone and would need to free up space on the device. I need to delete albums from the iPhone but not the iTunes library.

You have been manually managing music and videos from the start, or your switched to this from syncing?
When switching from syncing to manually manage, all iTunes content on your iPhone should be erased first.
Since you are manually managing music and videos selected, you manually drag music and videos from your iTunes library to your iPhone in the iTunes source list to add music and videos to your iPhone. To remove music and videos from your iPhone, you need to delete the music and videos from your iPhone.
Open your iPhone under devices in the iTunes source list - select the right facing arrow pointing it down, which will reveal Music, Movies, TV Shows, etc. Select Music to reveal all music that is available on your iPhone. Select the music that you want to remove from your iPhone followed by delete.
In regards to syncing - when syncing selected playlists, you remove songs from the playlist or playlists in iTunes that is selected under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences to be transferred to your iPhone followed by a sync to remove the songs from your iPhone. If you want to keep the music in your iTunes playlists in iTunes but remove select songs from your iPhone only, select sync only checked songs and videos under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences. Uncheck the songs that you want removed from your iPhone in the playlists in iTunes followed by a sync. To remove an entire playlist from your iPhone, deselect the playlist under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences followed by a sync.

Plug you iPhone into your computer, select the iPhone, select the photos tab. Now check (not uncheck) the sync photos from... Select the folder where the photo came from, click apply then sync, now uncheck the sync photos box, click apply, it will ask you if you want to remove the photos click remove, it will not delete other photos exept the ones in the folder that was synced. Then click sync and the photos will be removed

Forgot password but my email deleted from provider

Hi all
A friend of mine went through the 'forgot password' process but he can not put the email he have used when he registered because the email deleted from the provider. The email is not valid anymore so he can not use the forgot password option because the process asks for the email. Is there another way to retrieve my password for my friend's account? Maybe by using his mobile phone number? He remembers the username.
