Emails disappering from inbox

I can have emails in my inbox but when another comes in it deletes what is there has anyone got a fix for this. This is on a Lenovo tab 2 a7-10f running android.

Try using Gmail or another email app such as K-@ Mail. Gmail will let you set up pop3 accounts now.See if this will solve your problem.

    I am having an issue with one of my email accounts where email are being removed from inbox automatically.  They go to the inbox and then they just disappear.  If i forward the email to another user the mail is not deleted....
    Any ideas?

    From the Mail menu bar, select
    Mail ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts ▹ Advanced
    and from the popup menu labeled Keep copies of messages for offline viewing, select
    All messages and their attachments
    If there's no improvement, you may have to switch from IMAP to POP access.

  • Starred gmail emails disappear from inbox

    Hi,
    I am using the native mail app on iphone4 for my gmail. I would like to star my emails in my inbox, and retain a copy in the inbox. So far, I could move the email to the "Starred" folder, but this removes the email from my inbox. Any suggestions?

    Many possible reasons; hard to tell without more information.
    Somebody (maybe you) could be deleting them from another device.
    A filter on another device could be moving them to another mailbox.
    You could be deleting them accidentally.

  • Messages older than two weeks disappering from inbox? why?

    All messages received over two weeks prior are no longer available in my inbox. I scroll down and nothing over two weeks old is available! How do I get Mail to display all my messages?

    Thank you, no, I checked that as well... no scheduled deletion, checked on that first thing... this has only happened on my iMac when I upgraded to Yosemite, my MacBook Pro still running 10.9.5 has all my emails (thankfully) from over two years ago! I can't figure this out!

  • Email moved from inbox to deleted items automatically

    I have 1 user that is getting email moved from his inbox to his deleted items folder automatically.
    I have checked the AutomateProcessing setting and that does not seem to be the problem.
    He does have a blackberry through thier web service that syncs email but the settings there are to leave messages alone and has work for over a year now.
    This just started happening without any known changes being made. He is the only user that is having this issue.
    Messages will stay in the inbox for a few minutes to a few hours before they are moved. It does not seem to coincide with blackberry syncing or any other owa\outlook mailbox access.
    I checked the exchange message tracking logs but that only tracks a message once it gets to the mailbox. Is there a feature that can log when a message is moved from one folder to another and what\who made the request to do so?
    Just me and me alone keeps this ship afloat!

    1.      Could you tell the version of exchange and outlook? Currently, I assume it’s exchange 2003
    Exchange 2007
    2.      Is there any other user got same issue?
    No other users seem to be effected.
    3.      What’s the setting of AutomateProcessing?
    Currently set to "None"
    4.      Quote: “user has never created a rule in his life”
    Does it mean there are no rules in “Rules and Alerts” option in the “Tools” menu?

    5.      Please move the mailbox of the problematic user to another mailbox store, which can fix the corruption of mailbox, including corrupted rules (If has)
    Single Exchange server installation. Do not have another mailbox store.

  • Email dropped from Inbox

    I have a new Galaxy SIII that seems to drop email from the Inbox without my deleting it. I have the mail account period to synchronize settings set for 1 month but the only email displayed in the Inbox is for the previous week. In an effort to fix this I tried changing the settings to 2 weeks which made no difference. I then changed the setting back to 1 month and now only the last 10 messages are displayed. The missing email is not in the Deleted items folder. This only happens with my default email account. I also have a Hotmail account which saves all messages back for 1 month.
    My question is how can this be fixed and also is there a way to save messages older than 1 month?
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi Don. Thanks for the reply. The email provider is a local ISP that I have used for more years. The account is set up on the phone as a POP account. I have the account set to leave email on the server for 21 days as I access the mail from more than one computer in addition to the phone. When the email deletes from the phone it remains on the ISP server for the full 21 days and I can download to any other computers where I have the account set up.
    After trying to change the settings for Period to synch from 30 days to Two weeks and back again I was only able to see 1 day of downloaded email. So I deleted the account and set it up again. The full 21 days of mail from the server downloaded to the phone. The next day I looked at the mail and only the last two weeks of mail was displayed. I know that the mail is still on the ISP server and I could delete the account and set it up again to get it all but this is obviously not a permanent fix.
    Ideally I would like all my email to remain on the phone until I delete it from the phone. There are some messages that I would like to keep for more than 1 month and I assume I can use the save function but I’m not sure I trust that it will remain.
    I may check in at the local Verizon store because I know there are lots of users in the area that use the same ISP.

  • Emails missing from inbox on iphone

    I have a good number of emails missing from the inbox on my iphone. My only email is gmail. The emails are random, not from any particular person or place. The messages are in the inbox on my imac and also when I access gmail account on my pc. They are simply missing on the iphone. If I access my gmail account on the pc and star one of the messages, then it does appear on my iphone in the starred folder. Remove the star and it's gone (still doesn't show up in inbox). I just noticed this yesterday because I was looking for something, so don't really know how long it has been like this. I have looked at iphone settings for mail but don't see anything to give me a clue why this is happening.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    There are two things you can try.
    1. Move the file com.apple.mail.plist from your ~user/Library/Preferences folder to the desktop and relaunch Mail. If that's cured the problem, delete the Preferences file you moved to the desktop, otherwise move it back again overwriting the new one Mail just created.
    2. Try reinstalling Mail from your Install DVD - this only reinstalls the app itself not the mailboxes, but take a backup of them first, just to be on the safe side.

    Have lost about a years of saved emails from my inbox....I DID NOT delete them.  One day they were there the next they are gone.  I have settings on account and phone set to 'never delete'. Comcast foreign operators are of no help and eventually 'hang up' on me.....Poor service...They say can't get them, too bad, so sad.....Now if I was the NSA I could get them!Any way to find them or some other tech number to bypass the robots on the 800 number???Can't afford to lose anymore important emails, so if cannot be resolved, may look elswhere for a provider. 

    Most often email disappears from Comcast's "Xfinity Connect" webmail Inbox because an email program (ex: Outlook, Mac Mail) or mobile device (smartphone, tablet) using the POP protocol downloads the mail and removes it from the server.
    Check all mobile devices and email programs on all computers. The missing mail may be in the Inbox of one of these. If necessary, change the Comcast password for the affected userID to prevent mail from being removed. You can change your password in "My Account" (https://customer.xfinity.com/Secure/UserSettings/) under "Users & Preferences" / (username) / "Basic Settings" / Username / "Change password". Once you identify the offending device or program, change its settings to "Leave a copy on the server", and make sure that a "Delete after xxx days" or similar setting is not active.
    The "Email Deletion Schedule" settings in Xfinity Connect do not protect messages from being removed by email programs or mobile devices.

  • Is there a way to delete all email messages from inbox without checking each one at a time on my iphone 4?

    Whenever I want to delete messages in the inbox on my iphone 4, using v4.2.8, I have to manually check each one and then delete them the checked ones as a group. Is there a way to select all and delete them at one time? I love the phone and it is a little complaint, but I often get 50-60 work related messages which I scan then delete because the originals are on my work computer. Thanks.

    You have a point, but you're just helping exposing the misery a little more:  I actually DO delete the emails in WebMail, very easily.  The problem is the sorry state of the Apple email client, that does not replicate those actions on the device, so I have to delete the messages TWICE--once on my computer, with a couple of clicks, and then on my iPhone, with a couple (hundreds) finger gestures.
    As to your point that the iPhone is not a standalone device:  that's nonsense.  The iPhone does a lot of things that users thought IMPOSSIBLE just 10 years ago.  Are you saying that the addition of a simple feature like a "Delete All Messages" button is too much for a mobile device?  Then what to say about Siri, a complex-beyond-our-imagination system that incorporates voice recognition, AI, searching and other hard-to-grasp technologies, all at our fingertips?

  • Emails disappear from inbox when forwarded

    I have an iPhone 4S with Verizon service. The phone was set up as new. When I forward an email from the inbox to someone, the original email being forwarded disappears from the inbox. In all other mail applications I have used, the original email stays in the inbox. Does anyone know of a way to fix this? Thanks.

    I'm running ios7 and this is still an issue.  Has nothing to do with organize by thread. 
    If you forward an email on a device, the original message disappears from your inbox - on any device (even my mac).
    I'm using a POP account.  I see several messages on this in the discussions but no resolution or acknowledgement from Apple.

    it happened on multiple accounts, all of them paid and all of them supposedly being backed up on icloud (the messages were erased from icloud too). I access the emails via pop servers.
    and yes, new messages have been accumulating since yesterday. I'm really worried, because there is a lot of professional messages I lost.

    i have a several pop accounts. i have lost all my emails from the inbox of one of them. I did not change any of the preferences. I did not try to delete any accounts. I did not try to move any emails from or into the box. Well, I don't think I did any of them, unless there is a short cut hot key combination that I had inadvertantly pressed. I checked my trash. The mail was not there. I have efax exclusively in my business account so I did a search for a for "efax" in all my mailboxes. That eliminates the possibility that I moved my mail to another box. I rebuilt my mailbox, and still nothing. I went into the mail folder in the user accounts and opened the inbox directly by clicking on the inbox file I found there. The emails still did not show up. I looked at the size of that file and it was only 5.1Mb (I assume the file size is connected to the amount of mail since most of the other emails don't receive attachments and are smaller in size), when there should be a whole lot more there. Does Mail automatically delete mail from the in box? I did not set that preference. I can't be a memory problem since I have a mailbox that has been in use for nearly 5 years and gets more traffic yet everything is still in tact for that account. What could have happened? How do I get my mail back? I'm at my wit's end. Please, help me!

    The Mail.app does not automatically delete messages from an account's Inbox mailbox - there is no preference setting available to do this.
    What is your hard drive capacity and available free space?
    Quit Mail first and using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Mail > this POP account named folder (named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account) > INBOX.mbox.
    Move the INBOX.mbox to the Desktop.
    When re-launching Mail, a new INBOX.mbox will be created automatically by Mail within the account named folder. This will prevent losing any new messages received by this account while working on the old INBOX.mbox moved to the Desktop which may have some corruption.
    Control-click on the old INBOX.mbox moved to the Desktop and at the menu window that appears, select Show Package Contents.
    List the package content file names and size of each here.

  • 18 months of emails gone from inbox

    This morning checking my email encountered the repeated login error discussed on the board.   Once I was logged in and not getting logged back out, I noticed that approx. 18 months of emails are missing from my inbox.  Bascially from middle of Aug to May of 2011 messages are gone.  I did not delete them, they are not in any of my folders.  Any idea/suggestion on how to get them back or where they went.
    I am really tired and frustrated with Verizon email service the last few months.

    Just my personal opinion, DO NOT COUNT ON A SERVER ELSEWHERE TO SAVE YOUR EMAIL.  Personally I use a client on all my PC's to download copies.  I have one of them set to delete them after 7 days, and the rest to leave a copy on the server.
