Emails download then dissapear

I have recently installed Office:mac 2011 Small business on my new  iMAC.OSX 10.9.2
Transferring the info from my 2008 version to this one went fine,
Emails and all email files  categories ect. transferred over fine.
sending emails seems to go fine too.
When I receive email, I see they are coming in, but then they disappear - With the exception of random trials.
If I search for the name of a test email under ( All files)  I can find it but have no idea where it is filed.
they do not appear in my normal in box.  Of course this will not work since I do not know who sends emails every time.
They download to my ipad, and the entourage just fine.
 Please shed light on this.
 Thanks
I still have the old entourage 2008 available, thank god!

Hi,
In Outlook for Windows, we can hover mouse over the email in the search result, it will pop up the location where the email belongs to. But I'm not familiar with the behavior in Outlook for Mac. See:

  • Video podcasts download - then dissapear!

I am running iTunes 10.5.2.11 and Windows XP Pro... This issue just started recently, I believe when I upgraded my iPad to IOS 5.
Any time I try to download any video podcast in iTunes on my computer, it begins downloading, then finishes and says "done", then when I check my podcasts, it's not there, and it is gone from the downloads list. What's up with that?

Try installing the latest version of quicktime.  I have been fighting this issue for several days after re-installing my computer from the ground up.  I have read websites, forums, downloaded and paid for RegCure, and contacted support.  In the moment before I demoilished my computer I had the epiphany to check quicktime.  Once I downloaded the latest version and it associatted the files to quicktime they now show up.

  • I have an Ipad 2, I recently downloaded IOS 7.0.4, now when I open up Safari to search the internet it will come up for a split second then dissapear and take me back to the home screen. So it wont even let me search for anything.

So can anyone tell me how to fix this problem? I cant surf the web because as soon as I click on the Safari icon it will pop up for a split second then dissapear and take me to the Ipad homescreen. This happened when I downloaded the IOS 7.0.4.  I have the IPAD 2.

My Yahoo Mail is not Working on any of my Apple devices,  It attempts to download new email but then stops.  Any ideas?

I, too, am having a problem with my Yahoo email account on my first generation IPad. I can't download my emails to my IPad from the server. The IPad looks like it's trying to download them but can't do it. I am able to send emails from my IPad with my Yahoo account.
This problem started yesterday, Aug., 25th, the day after I uploaded the last update from Apple. I am able to set up another email account through Sbcglobal that will download my emails to my IPad but it is not sync'ed with my desktop mail which creates a mess when I move or delete emails.
I've tried deleting my Yahoo account and then adding it back. Also I've reset my IPad and I've done a full restore.
I think it has something to do with the last update, which I believe was a security update, which may have reset the firewall. That's just a guess.
Has anyone figures out anything else?

  • Mail app problems (duplicating email downloads)

in my Mail app, i am having a problem with receiving "duplicate" emails. i will get an email, and after in downloads to Mail, the "spinning circle" (next to the INBOX icon) keeps on spinning...then a duplicate of the email downloads. to stop the "spinning circle". i have to "force quit" Mail.
i have the option with Road Runner to get emails from their "WebMail" website. when i log-in, i see the email that is duplicating in Mail...plus other emails that has not been downloaded in my Mail application.
if i delete the "duplicating email" in RR Webmail, and launch Mail again, the "other emails" that i see in RR WebMail will download.
and if there are other new emails, the whole scenario will go over again in Mail.
i talked to a Road Runner technician and he tried to find a preference in the Mail app that will allow Mail to give a bit more time for Mail to download emails with larger attachments (2mb and up). he said that Mail is not giving enough time to download the larger emails, so it is "bottlenecking" the large email and other emails after that.
Just wondering if anyone knows about this problem, or if anyone knows if there is a preference in Mail to "extend" the download time for larger-sized emails......
    thank you....

I am having this same problem. How did you solve it?

Inbox emails downloaded in Outlook 2013 but not my others folders emails they r showing empty in outlook

    Hi,
What’s your account type using in Outlook? IMAP account or Exchange account?
Please make sure your Outlook 2013 is updated to the latest version. Then click Send/Receive > Send/Receive All Folders to manually download mailbox data files from mail server to Outlook data file. If it fails, please recreate the IMAP account in Outlook
    to have a try:

  • Manual Email Download w/ Latest OS

    Hi all - I'm new here :-)
Day 2 with a new BB Q10 and so far it's great!
I'm pretty tech savvy and have set up my POP3 email account as well as the SMTP etc.. and eveything works.
I set the POP3 account email 'Sync Interval' to "Manual", assuming this would allow me to check my email ONLY when I wish to do so as I don't want email downloaded to the Q10 unless I have a good reason to check it. I bought the  Q10 primarily as a phone and not as an email tool.
With my desktop email program I delete email on the server after downloading, so there's never a lot waiting for downloading. But I do get the usual spam + "friends" who enjoy sending 5-10MB image attachments of their cat (sigh) and I don't want these eating into my Data plan while on the road.
    The problem:
Despite the 'Sync -> Manual' setting the Q10 still downlloads whatever's on the mail server.
    So -- the questions are:
    1) How can only get/sync the email ONLY when I want to?
    2) Can I temporarily disable that email account altogether and reenable it without having to re-enter all the settings?
    3) Once downloaded, can I delete emails without opening them and being exposed to what they might contain?
    4) Are there alternative email programs available for the Q10
Thank you any help with this.

What you can do with the email is to set when to sync your can also go to settings and toggle the switch to data plan in order to save data!
The data plan is already off as I'm on my local wi-fi. But I still end up downloading emails that I then appear to have to OPEN if I want to delete them.
Is there no way to delete emails without opening?
What about deleting emails that may contain a dangerous payload?
The set to sync every "24 hours" will work only for 24 hours. I'd prefer to set it to something longer (->7days). But when it does kick in it will still download whatever's waiting online.
Why not a Sync ON/OFF option?
Or why doesn't the "Manual" sync setting bahave as it suggests?
If this is a bug then I'm happy to just wait for a fix. But I was hoping there was already a setting that I had overlooked.
Thanks for your suggestions nonetheless :-)

  • Hi - I cannot upload my emails through the mail icon.  The first time I tried it only loaded very old emails, I then tried the whole process again and it has not imported a single email.  I use hotmail, and have had no problems with my iPhone or iPad.

Hi - I cannot upload my emails through the mail icon.  The first time I tried it only loaded very old emails, I then tried the whole process again and it has not imported a single email.  I use hotmail, and have had no problems with my iPhone or iPad.  So the only way I can check my emails on my mac is to go through the internet.  Can anyone help?

    Hello, do you mean Download?
In Mail's Window Menu, choose Connection Doctor, any red dots for status, if so what is the message?
Then click the Show Details button & Check again.

  • All my emails download in Mail as "flagged" already!

    Hi Everyone!
Well, I have tried about all I can think of, and I have asked other Mac users, and now I am coming to this forum for some wisdom from other Mac sages and users.
I have this incredible annoyance which began with OS 10.5 and has continue in 10.6.
My Apple Mail app downloads my emails from Gmail, Yahoo, Windows Live, and all the email that is downloaded, comes already with the red flag. They the red flag disappears when I read an email.
All I have to do is click on the email, and the red flag disappears.
Is their a way to change this? Is there a way that my emails download without being red flagged?
    Your help would be appreciated.

    Hey Sam,
I just had the same issue too. It has to do with the rules set in Mail.
If you go to preferences and then to the rules tab which is on the
extreme right. You will see a number of rules and checkboxes.
One of the rules forces Mail to flag all the emails you receive. It
is obviously one of the checked rules. So if you click on the rules,
and go to Edit, you will get an idea of what each individual rule does.
The rule which cause Mail to flag emails on my computer was called
Mail FX. I just unchecked it and disabled it. You can delete it but I too,
but I don't know if this will cause an issue. I prefer to be better safe than
sorry and unchecked it and its working fine now.

  • Limit email downloads while roaming?

    Hello
When I am roaming I would like to limit my email downloads, to just download headers, or just the first 5k, like I used to be able on my Treo. Even being able to set "no attachments" or "no images" would be great.
Right now I'm finding my email charges while roaming are huge, because I get a lot of email that really isn't crucial, but I have to download it all in order to see the messages that are.
    How would I enable this?
    Thanks

Here is what I have noticed with attachements.
I can test and send an attachment to myself from PC to iPhone accuont that it is checking.
Open Mail App. It checks and says connecting...etc. I see messages show up.
    Get the Ding.
Shortly after that the paperclip will show I got one with an attachment.
But then the progress at the bottom goes away. However, if I don't go into that mail message and just wait. The progress indicator at the top will start and will process and process and process. Once that if finally done. If I open the message. The attachment will be there already downloaded. Only if one goes into a mail message around the time it arrives (before it had time to download) have I seen it say attachment is there but not downloaded (or at times it will take time and process and download on open).
I have just found (from my experience) that if you don't go right into email when an email with an attachement arrives and let it sit it will eventually be there when you do go check.
Now this also happens when I don't open the mail app at all. As I described in one of my earlier posts. I listen to music/podcasts on FM transmitter in my car. I get the now and then interference for txt, grabbing new cell etc. When new email arrives (I don't seem to get interference with just checking...odd) but when new email arrives I hear the itnerference (longer than txt interference) then it stops, I get a ding. But I will leave it there as I don't need to be reading email while driving. But if an attachement was included, then it will start to process again (long time with interference...could be minutes if big attachment especially while moving and jumping towers). I have had to pause playback as it is just unbearable. I have at times gotten fed up knowing it was a huge file that I can get later and gone and turned of my email after having gone into mail to press and hold home button to force quit it.
All my accounts I check are POP.

  • ICloud Email downloading very slow - TalkTalk UK

    Hello all,
Please forgive me if I ramble but I'm entirely stumped by this.
I have (and have had for a few years) an iCloud account along with a ".mac" email address.
I have been using this address for the past 6 & a bit years on a succession of iPhones (currently an iPhone 5) as well as a new (2 months old) iMac - running Yosemite - without any problems.
My broadband is provided by TalkTalk in the UK & whilst they're not perfect, usually things work ok.
We're on a standard copper phone line with a download speed of approx 6.5 mbps and upload of around 750 kbps - not lightning fast but usually fine for us.
Anyway, a problem has arisen in the last couple of days whereby if I'm connected to the WiFi, either on the phone or the iMac, email downloads via my iCloud account (at the ".mac" address) are painfully slow - headers for emails will arrive and then I'm left waiting ages - sometimes minutes - for the rest of the message to appear.
I have searched both TalkTalk and Apple community forums to no avail & being as it's the weekend, Customer Services are not easily contacted.
I have tried all the usual things - rebooted/reverted to factory settings on the router and switched off WiFi on the iPhone (emails download lightning fast on 4G thus proving to my satisfaction that the broadband connection is causing the slow d/l speed).
Delivery & downloading content on other email accounts (both on the Mac & phone) is unaffected.
The mail connection doctor within Mail.app on the Mac tells me we're connected fine to iCloud IMAP.
The only thing I can think that might have caused an issue is the fact that yesterday I installed 'Plex' on the Mac with a view to streaming photos/videos etc on our Sony smart TV. It spent most of the day indexing & still didn't seem to function correctly so I got to the point where I aborted it and unistalled the app, as well as the preferences and other associated library info before emptying the trash, just to be sure..
Could the installation of this software possibly have screwed up settings in the router related to handling of the iCloud info?
I've looked in vain for any possible red flags in the router settings (I will confess to not wanting to mess with them) and have, as stated previously, restored the thing to Factory/ISP-settings without any joy.
So, before I begin the long & painful process of calling Customer Support, is there anything I can realistically look at/check which might shed some light onm this?
    Any help VERY gratefully received..
    David.

    Hi there,
If it's not your ISP or home network hub then try your mac DNS settings, download and install namebench and run it, see what settings it gives.

  • Mail 7.0 - limit email download

I want to add an IMAP-account to Mail. Since I've used this account for many years, it contains thousands of emails and several archive folders, and I really don't want to fill up my SSD with that.
There used to be a "Don't keep copies of any messages" checkbox in Mail's account preferences, but this option was removed in OS X 10.9. There's also no way to limit synchronization to a certain time frame or specific folders.
I am aware I can exclude attachements from being downloaded, but still it's a lot of data.
The same problem exists in iOS 7: You cannot limit the email download to a certain time frame as in iOS 6.
(This actually means I cannot use Mail on my iPhone or sync Mail with iCloud if I don't want to fill up a big part of my phone/cloud space with email data)
Does anybody have solution for this, or an explanation for the removal of these features?

    Found this:
I did discover that, if I drag the message into a local folder in the "On My Mac" section of Mail, then I can remove the attachment.

  • Emails downloaded

    hi!
i bought my ipad mini in dec and since the upgrade still keep having issues.
i occassionally get some emails downloaded saying that its dated  01/01/1970 and no message content!
does anyone else have any issues like this?

What type of email account is this?  Are you on an exchange server?
What could be happening is that when you open a message in your Outlook client
the unique message ID is being changed on the mail server.   When
BIS goes and looks for new mail it compares message ID’s it has to message ID’s
on your mail server.  If BIS sees a new
message ID that it has never seen before then BIS will pull down the same
    message again.
Have a look at the below example it may make it a bit clearer
    Message 1 unique ID -> 123456789
    Message 2 unique ID -> 987654321
    Message 3 unique ID -> 789456123
BIS checks for new mail, messages ID’s are now in BIS and the message are on your device
Now you check you email using Outlook and the message ID’s on the mail server change
Message 1 unique ID -> abcdefgh
Message 2 unique ID -> asdfghjkl
Message 3 unique ID -> qwertyuiop
Now BIS checks for mail again, Message 1,2 and 3 are the same message but BIS
looks at the ID and sees they are different so it pulls down the message to the
    device again.
I am not saying with 100% certainty that this is the issue but it is
possible and there are a few tests that can be run to verify this theory but
this will require you to get your carrier to escalate the case to RIM.  RIM will be able to verify one way or another that this is or is not the case, if this is the issue then it is going to be up to your mail server admin to get it fixed.
Hope this provides some insight as to what may be going on!

  • Email download speeds

My E72 seems to collect email much quicker than my E71.
I don't know know whether that's because I have a new sim card, or because it collects via the various WLAN access points I have set up.
I don't know whether the E72 automatically downloads emails using the fastest connection available, even though it's set up to use O2 Active as default, any offers?
On that note shoud I select O2 Active or O2 WAP for the best email download connection.
For sending I select 'Always Ask'.
Not sure if I've set it up to it's best potential.
Any advice on collecting email automatically gratefully received.

There are two ways one wait while the lines are transferred in batches this can take a few days to a few months to complete or you can contact sales and get them to renew your contract and upgrade you the choice is down to you depends how fast you want the upgrade
