Emails from contacts marked as [SPAM]

When I email some of my contacts and they reply, the subject line says "Re: [SPAM]". Each subsequent message adds another [SPAM] label to the subject line.
This even happens with people I mark as VIP contacts.
I don't mean they are labelled "junk mail", the word spam in brackets is added over and over. I have one email subject that reads:
"Re: [SPAM] Re: [SPAM] Re: [SPAM] Re: [SPAM] Re: [SPAM] Re: [SPAM] Re: [SPAM] Re: [SPAM] Re: [SPAM] Re: [SPAM] Lunch?"
This is an email thread that I initiated and sent from my gmail account to my friend's gmail account. We have never had this problem before.
How can I fix this?

Our channels have been configured to bypass Spamassassin for SMTP AUTH sessions. I expect there is a way to bypass spam checking for Convergence sessions but I have not found any information about this online. You can configure Messaging Server to send Convergence sourced emails to a different port and thus a different source channel. Then add 'disablesourcespamfilter1' on that channel to stop the spam filter.
The following guide will provide you with the steps to achieve this. You can also implement the rate-limiting if you wish. Make sure to read the entire guide first to get an idea of the overall approach.

  • Bug: Failure to Send emails from Contacts after 8.2 update

After updating to iOS 8.2 sending emails from Contacts may fail.  I can consistently get the following failure on multiple iPad/iPhone devices:
Open Contacts, select any contact with a valid email address field, select the email address, and a “New Message” window will open.  Type in any subject and the “Send” text will turn blue – this is as it should be. Select “Cancel”, “Delete Draft”.
Return to Contacts.  Once again, select any contact with a valid email address field, select the email address, and a “New Message” window will open. Enter any “Subject” text.  The “Send” text will never turn blue and you will never be able to send an email from the Contacts.
The only way to once again send an email from Contacts is to end the email app.
This problem did not occur before iOS 8.2.

Others have seen it an reported as well.

  • TS3899 I accidently turned ON contacts when I was turning ON my yahoo email account in settings and now all the emails from contacts have been merged to create SEPARATE contact right under the original contact name. Now I have double contacts for everyone

I accidently turned ON contacts when I was turning ON my yahoo email account in Settings and now all the emails from contacts have been merged to create SEPARATE contact right under the original contact name. Now I have double contacts for everyone with an email address!!! how do I UNDO? it says all CONTACTS WILL BE DELETED...when I go to turn CONTACTS to OFF.

Any contacts synced with the Yahoo account will be deleted from the phone if you turn it off. They will still be out there in Yahoo land, so if you turn it off and it deletes something you didn't want to, just turn it back on again.
It's extremely unclear what you did when you say " I only created contacts and typed in emails that I had for those contacts.....so I am still not sure how to UNdo what I did without deleting anything"
Undo WHAT, exactly? You said "I accidently turned ON contacts when I was turning ON my yahoo email account in Settings and now all the emails from contacts have been merged to create SEPARATE contact right under the original contact name."
    Just turn it off.

  • Curve 8530 not receiving emails from contacts

Hi, about a week ago, my Curve stopped receiving emails from people in my contacts list.  I will still get them from companies that I've placed orders with in the past, as well as a notification that someone replied to a post I made on here earlier this week, but anyone in my address book isn't getting through to the phone, but they're in the inbox on Yahoo!  I ran the diagnostic check that someone suggested, and the email address said "no" after it for connected.  I don't know how to fix this.  I've had the phone since May and never had an issue until now.  I've spent over an hour on the phone with Verizon trying to solve it and they couldn't figure it out.  I've deleted the account & added it back and I receive the email telling me it's registered, but no more.  Also, when I go into "Folder Reconciliation" nothing is checked off, and I don't know how to do it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated for me.  Thank you.

Had my Curve 8530 for more than a year issue-free with Verizon. Have an Outlook Web Access (OWA) and Hotmail email account registered. Last night, OWA messages was not being received and cannot be sent from the phone using the OWA account. However, the Hotmail account is working just fine, messages being sent and received. I have tried:
    1) Rebooting/Removed battery
    2) Updating password, username, and server URL under email accounts.
    3) Re-registered the phone to the network. After 20 minutes, no change.
    4) Resent service book for the account.
    5) Ran diagnostic of mobile network. All "Yes" except for "Connected to: [OWA account] : No"
1-5 is all the troubleshooting I've found for the Curve 8530 and nothing has helped. Please help!
I would suggest that you do ALL of the above again.
If your service is not restored, you really need to call Verizon tech support and ask for your issue to be escalated to RIM level tech support.

  • How to unlink email from contact?

I am trying to unlink a friend's email from her contact that is on my phone and cant seem to get it right

Okay, that is a completely different issue. You mentioned email to start with, not iMessage. Have your friend follow the instructions in this support document. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5185  This has nothing to do with you. You do not need to make any changes on your end, they do.

  • Change 'new form submission' text when receiving email from contact form.

    Hi,
One of our clients has asked us to change the text they receive when they get an email from their contact form.
It currently says: 'new form submission'
they want it to say: 'West of the Moon ~ Ayr ~ Website Enquiry'
We have tried changing the name of the form but this only changes the subject in the email not the wording on the email. Is there any way to do this?

    Hi Richard,
Please check the php script to which the web form submits to and then open that with a text editor and edit the verbiage that you want to there.
PS - You will need to make these changes after every export from Muse as Muse will override them on every export/upload.

  • IOS 8.2 - Initiating new email from contact list doesn't allow send

    To whom it may concern,
I have noticed a strange issue with iOS 8.2 on iPhone and iPad where if you initiate a new email from your contact list, it will not allow you to press Send because it is grayed out.  This option works fine in 8.1.3 and all other options to initiate and send mail appear to work fine in 8.2.  I realize this isn't a showstopper, but hopefully this will get addressed in a future OS release.  In any event, support case 765105326 has been logged detailing the issue.
    Thank you

I had exactly the same issue, I solved it by restoring my phone to a previous backup where I still have my contacts (I recommend you do another backup before) make  sure you deactivate the synchronization of your contacts with your ICloud account so you don´t allow ICloud to erase your contacts again ( do this before restoring) ,  Once you get your contacts back  download a contact backup app, ( i bought the MCBackupPro which you can also use for free if you have less than 500 contacts). Keep them in a safe place and just be careful not to active the iCloud sync tab for your contacts on your phone SETTINGS> ICLOUD>CONTACTS TAB MUST BE OFF. Go to iCloud.com and upload your contacts file (.VCF) on the cloud so you have them backed up just in case, I recommend you do this once a month or after you add many contacts.

  • Cannot reply to emails from contact with accented character.

    Hi,
If I receive an email from Bob Côté, it shows "Bob CotÀÀ©" in the preview and "CotÀÀ©" and "Bob Côté" in the email itself.
Of course, if I try to reply, the phone tries to send the email to both adresses, "CotÀÀ©" being of course unrecognized from my contacts.
This is pretty annoying, as whenever I want to reply, I need to manually go in the "To" field and change the recipient.
This is 2010, I'm sure it's supposed to work!??? Am I doing something wrong?
    thanks.

Works just fine for me. The list opens when Itap the notification area. When I tap on the title or letter icon  for the new email, it opens in edit-reply mode.
Edit: Not quite the truth... I have to click on the reply icon at the bottom of the just-opened message  - the envelope icon with the left green arrow.

  • Emails from contact form not working

I have a contact form on one of my website and it is not working properly.
Muse gives me a warning of not using another email than connected to the domain of the web.
As I use Gmail in this particular website it is not working.
    How to solve this?
    Thanks
    Pétur

    Hi,
I have and they told me they use SMTP authentication for their incoming emails.
They also tried to work on Muse PHP code for me - but did not manage to configure it correctly for emails through SMTP from forms in Adobe Muse.
The problem is that I have a customer that is not receiving any inquiries from his customers because the form on his website is not working.
Do I have to use Businesscatalyst - is it alright there to use Gmail to send emails from forms hosted there?
Hope you have some solution - I have to solve this

    SunOS svynka2 5.10 Generic_142900-02 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Blade-1000
We have a messaging server using ClamAV and Spamassassin, all of which was setup straight out of the Wiki. One interesting issue we have is email originated from a user's Convergence session is flagged as spam by Spamassassin. Although this is not an optimal setup, Convergence is running on the same server (single zone) as Messaging Server. Our Spamassassin threshold is default (5.0). Has anyone else experienced this same problem? If so, how did you resolve it?
Our channels have been configured to bypass Spamassassin for SMTP AUTH sessions. I expect there is a way to bypass spam checking for Convergence sessions but I have not found any information about this online.
Thanks in advance for your help!

  • When emailing from Contacts, Send button is grayed out

I'm using an iPhone 5s with iOS 8.2.
    Steps to reproduce:
    - Go to Contacts
    - Select a name
    - Where it lists their email address, press the email address
    - This opens a New Message.  The To: field will have the selected email address.  The Cc/Bcc, From will has my default email address.  NOTE:  This doesn't matter whether using Yahoo, Gmail, Earthlink, or an work Exchange email account.  Applies to ALL email accounts.
    - Type in a Subject
    - Type in a Message
    - The 'Send' button in the upper right remains grayed out
    - If you press 'Cancel' in the upper left, it will ask to Delete or Save Draft or Cancel.  Deleting Draft takes you to the Mailboxes window
    - If you press where the To: email address is, the email you are sending to will disappear and a Circle-Plus sign appears and you have to either type in the recipient again or use the plus sign which takes you back to the Contact list
I've checked settings, changed default email accounts, deleted email accounts and reloaded, but it is the same behavior.
    Is this a bug?

Yes, that's a bug. I've seen it as well.
