Emails from Inbox moving into Outbox one at a time, can't stop them!!!

This behavior just started - I'm using Mail 3.6 (936) and OSX 10.5.8. My Outbox contantly has one email in it, and the email is always an old one taken from my Inbox... an email TO me, and not one I am trying to send. If I delete the email from the Outbox, then click out of/back into the Outbox, another single email from my Inbox will have taken its place. Starting Mail with these emails in the Outbox results in an SMTP error because the mail is not 'sendable'... every time, since I am unable to completely clean out the Outbox.
I've tried re-starting, rebuilding all mailboxes, etc... with no success. What happened here?

Quit Mail, and in the Finder open Home/Library/Mail/Mailboxes and locate the Outbox.mbox folder. Delete this folder and relaunch Mail. When you next compose and send a message Mail will create a new Outbox.mbox.
See if this behavior is corrected?

You have a point, but you're just helping exposing the misery a little more: I actually DO delete the emails in WebMail, very easily. The problem is the sorry state of the Apple email client, that does not replicate those actions on the device, so I have to delete the messages TWICE--once on my computer, with a couple of clicks, and then on my iPhone, with a couple (hundreds) finger gestures.

Move email from Inbox to Local Folder using Message Filter moves header only, not contents.

I created a Message Filter to move email from Inbox to a Local Folder based on Date. The email headers were moved, but not the contents. Since I'm using IMAP, all the emails were deleted from the server.
I searched for similar problems and I followed one suggestion to "repair" one of the target Local Folders, but that made things worse. Now the header information (Subject, From, Date (now set to the date the transfer was done, not the email received date) is all blank.
The Local Folder properties indicate the email is contained in
mailbox:///C:/Users/Ted/AppData/Roaming/Thunderbird/Profiles/c65xcqqf.default/Mail/Local Folders/Archives.sbd/2010
I can see the messages from other Local Folders here, but the ones "moved" are empty.
Should this location be changed?
Is there some way to recover the email contents?

Recieved email from Computer Help at WHICH magazine with [Request ID :##55675##] : in the subject heading is crashing my THUNDERBIRD (and other programs) when I move the email from INBOX to local folders. The only work-around found so far is to shut them down with task manager, as they wont otherwise close.
However if I move the Reply with the same subject heading from my SENT box to LOCAL FOLDERS I dont get the problem.
Hav I found a faulty software trap in the base code.
Thunderbird is up to date and it is on a 64kb intel i7 quad processor 8G ram desktop using windows 7 latest update.

To diagnose problems with Thunderbird, try one of the following:
*Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode). On the Help menu, click on "Restart with Add-ons Disabled". If Thunderbird works like normal, there is an Add-on or Theme interfering with normal operations. You will need to re-enable add-ons one at a time until you locate the offender.
*Restart the operating system in '''[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safe_mode safe mode with Networking]'''. This loads only the very basics needed to start your computer while enabling an Internet connection. Well it started happening AGAIN with my 2nd IPod. No matter what I did, it Itunes would NOT restore it!
I finally installed Itunes on my hubby's PC at work and managed to get it restored there.
Apparently, there must be some sort of compatibility issue with the windows version of Itunes and some other piece of software on my pc.
And one more important thing! I had to follow the instructions in the other thread that talks about how to correctly uninstall itunes and quicktime, in order to completely eliminate ALL traces of my "first" ipod's existence so it wouldn't demand that I restore it.
I think the software got "confused" and thought when I connected my 2nd ipod, that it was the 1st and that it still needed to be restored.
Basically, this is just POORLY written and POORLY tested software!

Only way to get it back is to restore your phone from a backup, if those pics were included in that backup.
But most likely those pics are gone.
What you should've done was import http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 the pics to your computer and after you restored from your old backup, you could sync those new pics to your phone via itunes.

I imported photos from an old iPhoto (2001) to photo library and can now see them as thumbnails but not when I click on them. The screen is black cannot see or print either. Is there any way to salvage those old photos? I now use iLife09. OS 10.6

Did you import the old iPhoto library into the new one? That's not what you want to do because you will import all of the original, modified and thumbnail files as if they were original files. Lots of duplicates and useless small photos.
Do you have a backup copy of the library that you imported into to? If you do then bring it in and then use iPhoto Library Manager to merge the two libraries into a new, 3rd library.
If you don't then you'll have to try to fix the current one and then cull out the duplicates and small useless photos as follows: make a temporary, duplicate copy of your library and apply the three fixes in order as necessary.
Fix #1
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your HD/User/Home()/ Library/Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your HD/User/Home()/Library /Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
If this doesn't fix the problem you'll have to start over from scratch and create a new library from the files inside the Originals folder of your current library. But first you should cull out the small photos that would be the thumbnails from the 2001 library.
Move the Originals folder to the Desktop, open and do a search for Kind=photo, File size is less than 10 KB. That should find all of the thumbnail files which you can then drag to the Trash. You might have to make that less than 50 KB. Then Import the remaining photos into a new iPhoto library.
