Emails from WCS saying that AP is down.Plz help
Hi Experts,
I am new to wireless and I am facing strange issue here. Hence need your help in order to resolve this.
Everyday I am getting the E-Mails from WCS.
Error:
WCS has detected one or more alarms of category AP and severity Critical in Virtual Domain root
for the following items:
802.11a interface of AP AP-1140-1 is down: Controller 10.12.0.20
802.11b/g interface of AP AP-1140-1 is down: Controller 10.12.0.20 ( couple of times)
I would like to know what is causing this? and how do i need to troubleshoot this?
What errors and logs do I need to enable on controller?
I dont want the AP's to get disconnect very often as this will impact the users. Around 10-15 Aps getting disassociated everyday.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Fari
check for how long it stays disconnected. Then go on WCS and try to look in the alarms to see if it mentions a reason for having left when it joins again ...
You can also check the message logs on the WLC itself.

I've just received an email from 'Apple' saying that my apple id was used to sign into iCloud on an iphone 5S. I have an iphone 4. It then asks that I 'click here' to confirm my details and change my password. How do I tell if the email is genuine?
Apple will not ask you to click a link in an email. They may tell you to log in to your account to reset your password. Go to https://appleid.apple.com and log in if you ever want to change any information in your profile (or your password). And do not click the link I just posted; instead enter it into a browser.
You can verify the devices assigned to your account by going to https://icloud.com/find (again, don't click it), where you can see a list of devices registered to your Apple ID.
As a general rule, you should never click a link in an email or forum post without verifying it first. You can see where it goes without clicking it in most email programs and browsers by hovering your mouse pointer over it. On an iPhone you can check where it goes by holding your finger on the link (rather than just tapping it). -
Hi I got an email from itunes saying that my pre order was ready and when I click on the link from my ipad it takes me to the itunes store app and then it doesn't do anything help with this please .
<Link Edited By Host>Thanks for your advice, I went to the apple shop today for a face to face meeting with a tech and he checked everything and could not figure out why I was having this problem so we decided to give up on that account and create a whole new one for me using a different email address.
Now I can download apps on both my iPhone and ipad2.
If anyone is reading this in Brisbane Australia go to the Chermside apple shop and ask for Wade. He was fantastic!

Here is the email -
After reading your reply, I am almost convinced that it was a phishing email. It was not personalized and was addressed to 'dear client'.
Also the entire email was a hyperlink to
http://www.nada.com.sa/your-nada/blend-us-a-mix/images/tmp/174733-ap.html
which was then automatically directed to

This page looked like a genuine apple web page and all other links on this page were going to real Apple's UK website!
They did their best to convince that the email genuinely came from Apple. -
Using my ipad1 I opened a link sent by a friend wh/ took me to Fox News page. Then got email from him saying his google act was hacked & not to open link. What can I do to protect against anything malicious that might have come from this link
Well, if it was going to do anything to your iPad, its too late now, isn't it?
First off, it did not install anything on the iPad. Can't do that from a web site on an iOS device. The only thing you might consider is to clear your browser cache and data: Open Settings app > Safari:
Clear History
Clear Cookies and Data
And if you are really the paranoid type, Advanced > Website Data > Remove All Website Data. -
my mail only receives certain messages . received email from apple saying mail is full and it isn'.
a lot of email that others send me don't even get to may mailbox.Your icloud storage must be full, from emails, backups, and other data.
Go to
Settings>General>Usage. This tells how much storage is used on both iCloud and on the device. -

ALmost every few days I get an email from Apple saying your password has been changed.... if you didn't change please go to Apple and change your id password
I have had to do this for the 7th time in 4 weeksIf you are receiving e-mail messages that indicate that someone is trying to reset your Apple ID password, they may be phishing scams. Do not click any links in those e-mail messages, and if you make the mistake of doing so, do not provide your current Apple ID password on the page you are directed to.
Unfortunately, in this case, there's nothing to be done except treat those messages the same way you would any other spam.
The other possibility is that someone is actually trying to reset your Apple ID password. This may be due to a malicious attack, but more likely, it's just someone who thinks your Apple ID is actually theirs (due to a typo, faulty memory or something similar) and is trying to "regain" access. In any case, this is merely an annoyance, but you can put an end to it by enabling two-factor authentication on your Apple ID. This will require an additional piece of information that only you will possess in order to even start the password reset process.
If you are actually seeing your password getting changed, and are having to reset it yourself to regain access, you are being hacked. This could be because your password is not strong enough to withstand a brute-force attack by a botnet. It could also be because the attacker already has access to your e-mail address, and is able to intercept the reset e-mail and complete the reset process. Because of that danger, you should change the password for the e-mail account associated with your Apple ID. You should also change the password for your Apple ID, making sure that it is a strong password, and enable two-factor authentication as mentioned above. -
I got an email from Apple saying I have been blocked and I should click on a link to confirm that I am me. Is this a real thing from Apple? Has anyone else gotten this?
Well, at the risk of offence one more response. Bookmark the following links as a means of guidance next time you meet a similar problem.

I just turned off Find my iPhone after hearing about the hacking in Australia. I got an email from Apple saying: your Apple ID and password will no longer be required for someone to erase, reactivate, and use your iPhone. Does this mean that anyone can have access to my iPhone? I still have to put my passcode in.
What that means is the activation lock does not operate if you did what you said you did. Bottom line, turn it back on. That will then require anyone trying to use the device to have yoru Apple ID and password.

The message from ICLOUD saying that the IPAD hassn't been backed uo in 3 weeks... do not desapear when typing the OK. What to do?
Try this and see if it helps.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up -
I received the new update from Itunes and after installing, I couldnt get into my Itunes. I get a message from Windows saying that an MC file is missing and to reinstall I tunes. I have reinstalled 3 times, the first time I didn't remove the old version, I installed the update over it. Next I tried the repair function under Control Panel. After that, I uninstalled Itunes and reinstalled again from the website. I still get the same message about missing files from Windows.

Received a email from Apple stating that my Apple ID was used for a purchase not on my device. It had a link to cancel purchase but asked for my email and password which I gave then it wanted my credit card info! I didn't give that, what should I do? Do you think this is just a way to get my credit card information?
It sounds like a phishing email. You can't "cancel" purchases. You've now given them your AppleID and password, so you should immediately change your password to something new and very secure.
Also watch out for suspicicious activity on your account. -

TS4009 Why did I get an email from apple saying my iCloud storage is being downgraded?
Why did I get an email from apple saying my iCloud storage is being downgraded?
You were (previously) a member at MobileMe and got 20GB's of free iCloud storage in addition to the 5GB's offered by the "free" iCloud service.
At the end of this month the 20GB's will go "poof" (like the rest of MobileMe).
