Emails missing

I just opened Mail and the four emails that were in one of my three accounts' inboxes say that they have not been downloaded from the server and I should make the account online. This is only for those four inbox emails, not the same accounts' emails in other folders. I tried the thing apple told me where you redownload them or something, but that specific account doesn't even show up in my Library/Mail Folder. Can anyone help me?

Checked the message file count in mailbox folder, and it matches the amount in Mail (7806).
One other note: During the period of missing emails (June 2006 to May 2007), we switched in November from Earthlink to .Mac email. So emails from both account are missing. Don't know if this means anything, but maybe it helps elliminate any possibilities having to do with .mac.

Emails missing from Mail - can't access backups from Time Machine

To my dismay both of my gmail accounts through the mail client will only show me emails from the last 30 days. I went to check gmail through Safari and the same story, I'm locked out of emails from before the last 30 days. This is not only on my Mac, but also on my iPad and iPhone.
I attempted to go into Time Machine and do a restore, but the same thing is happening and I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be. For some reason even when Time Machine pulls up my email backups I can see stuff from every year but 2013 and the beginning of 2014. It starts populating the backup to show me my emails, but nothing appears and I know those emails have to exist somewhere.
Does anyone know if this is some kind of code error that caused this, or if there is anyway to get around it? Having an entire year's worth of emails missing is really problematic for me as you can expect. Does anyone know how to remedy this?

Massive amounts of email missing

I keep basically all of my email, and I've recently noticed that there are entire years of email missing from the folder I created to archive my email. The biggest is a gap of three years where there is no email at all from that time period. What has happened to it? I have tried rebuilding the folder, no luck, then I tried breaking it up into smaller folders then rebuilding the original folder, no luck. Recent mail is missing also. Spotlight does not find it. Can anyone help?

But I need to keep them on my computer. Or, are you saying that, once they've been downloaded to the Powerbook G4 and iPhone 4, if I delete them on webmail, they'll disappear from my iPhone?
I think my experience has been that, if I delete my road runner webmail emails, it has no effect on e mail already downloaded to my MPB or iPhone 5s.
I read a nifty-sounding 'trick' for deleting piles of email on an iPhone, but the tipper said not to try it on massive amounts or it would freeze up the iPhone. You check the top email (which activates the 'Move' button so it becomes clickable). Then holding the Move button, unclick the top email and wait, holding down 'Move' (while, seemingly, nothing's happening). Once all the email has been moved, you are presented with a screen with the option to move the moved mail to trash. I'll attach a screenshot of that screen, showing what happened just now to all the (16) emails presently on this iPhone 5s...

Emails missing from inbox on iphone

I have a good number of emails missing from the inbox on my iphone. My only email is gmail. The emails are random, not from any particular person or place. The messages are in the inbox on my imac and also when I access gmail account on my pc. They are simply missing on the iphone. If I access my gmail account on the pc and star one of the messages, then it does appear on my iphone in the starred folder. Remove the star and it's gone (still doesn't show up in inbox). I just noticed this yesterday because I was looking for something, so don't really know how long it has been like this. I have looked at iphone settings for mail but don't see anything to give me a clue why this is happening.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

There are two things you can try.
1. Move the file com.apple.mail.plist from your ~user/Library/Preferences folder to the desktop and relaunch Mail. If that's cured the problem, delete the Preferences file you moved to the desktop, otherwise move it back again overwriting the new one Mail just created.
2. Try reinstalling Mail from your Install DVD - this only reinstalls the app itself not the mailboxes, but take a backup of them first, just to be on the safe side.

Why are emails missing in the to: line?

In the iOS mail app I have noticed that some mass emails are missing addressees are missing in the to: line. They are not in the cc: or bcc: line either. However I know they are there when I view the email online or on my computer. This is happening with multiple accounts too. Any suggestions?

iOS apps don't run on Macs and Mac apps don't run on Macs. If a developer has developed an app for both operating systems, they are sold separately in their respective app store.

Address book sync problem: Phone #s & emails missing fr. iPhone

When I sync, I overwrite the iPhone address book and calendar with the one on my computer. I choose 'Replace information on this iPhone.'
Suddenly, none of the emails or phone numbers are showing up in the address book records on the iPhone. All the records are there, they're just missing the phone #s and emails. The phone numbers and emails are on the computer version of Address book, and other changes in the name and notes fields for each record are showing up.
Any ideas what could be causing this and how to fix it?

I'm not sure what you mean. When I look in the Address Book, I see the email addresses for each of my contacts, but the problem is they aren't syncing to my iPhone. Do you know how I can resolve this???

Approval notification emails missing link to login to SRM

Environment: Standalone
I have created the one shopping cart. Then the approver received the Email notification for approving the shopping cart. Link login to the SRM missed in that approver's mail.

When I am creating the shopping cart the approver normally receive the E mail as:Escalated: Shopping cart of Bill Memore value 799.98 USD. In that mail the SRM web portal link for login by the approver missed.

Some emails missing from Mail InBox

All emails received in Mail, version 3.6 (936) between 6:57pm 8 August and 6:15pm 10 August (around 30 messages) have disappeared from my Inbox at some time in the afternoon of 10 August. (I don't suspect the timings are significant, I'm just being specific.) I did not delete them, accidentally or otherwise. They have not moved to any other folder. Account type is POP.
I have followed all recovery procedures listed at: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1907, but nothing has worked. The messages were still on my ISPs server so I have been able to retrieve them on my MacBook.
Questions:
• Is there any known reason for this problem?
• Any way to prevent it recurring?
• Is there some way I can retrieve the lost messages from my ISP into Mail on my iMac?
• Is there any way to import only the missing messages into Mail on my iMac from Mail on my MacBook?
• How can I inform Apple of this problem by email?

Ok....now when I reply to something from my Mail....my phone is sending another reply to the recipient...except blank. Grrrr.

As already mentioned elsewhere, there are a lot of user complaints about this basic feature missing from many Nseries phones (N95, N78, etc). Is Nokia listening and/or planning a firmware upgrade for symbian S60v3 phones?

To archive email to another folder, the only "workaround" seems to be to copy & paste the email text into an Active note. Active notes so that you can organize them in subfolders, but then you suffer from the slowness of the ActiveNotes app and not being able to search. Is there a way to add the Active notes folder to the standard search locations?
Anyone else out there having found a better workaround? I can't believe that Nokia messed this one up. It was standard on my E50, and apparently in some older Nseries phones too.

When youi say Eject, the RAM copy of the Directory is written back to the drive. On a pen drive, this can take several seconds.
If you get too excited and don't wait those few seconds, the directory write will be incomplete, and the drive will lose its integrity or lose files or both.

Send copy as email missing

Have several macs. This issue is only effecting my 27 inch iMac. In numbers when I try to share a numbers document there is no email option? Worked for a long time and all the sudden missing. Any ideas?

IPhone 4 contact emails missing "@" and "."

My contacts sync but when I look them up individually the emails are in the section for phone numbers and are missing the @ symbol and . before the com or org. example [email protected] is johnsmithgmail.
Is there a fix or do I need to correct each of them individually on my phone?

Correct them on your computer and resync. It looks like you had placed the email addresses in the phone numbers in Address Book.

Opened emails missing from Outlook

Each email that is open on my iPhone is missing when I access email in Outlook- Help!

Gmail is rarely if ever configured as POP3. It should be configured as Exchange or IMAP and no issue exists.
For the POP3 account on your iPhone, there should be an advanced setting option for the account that will allow you to check the box to keep email on the server.
Frankly, if you have your Gmail account set up as POP3, I would delete it and re-add it as either IMAP or Exchange. POP3 is an ancient standard that does not allow true syncing between the server and multiple clients.

Contacts Missing, Contacts Missing data, Email missing since 2.0 & MM

I've labored all day trying to get proper syncing accomplished. I thought my last effort at syncing was succesfull, hence I replied & answered my last post on this issue. Having done many erasing of contacts from MM, getting the sync pref. correct from computer to MM etc. I am missing contacts on Mobile Me from the computer sync. I have contacts that are incomplete on MM but fine on my computer. All my emails from my .Mac account were deleted except for one upon the MM upgrade. I have 200+ extra contacts on my iPhone then on my computer and MM. The emails were since deleted off of my iPhone from the .mac account too. Do we need to make any adjustments to the old .Mac acct on the iPhone when the MM was upgraded? I know many of us are having difficulties so if you have had this problem or similar ones please post your thoughts. Thanks,

Email missing from my 6288

Hi all,
I've had my 6288 for over 12 months now and never wanted to receive emails on it. Now I do, but I can find no mention of email in any of the menus anywhere. The manual says:-
To activate the e-mail settings, select Menu > Messaging > Message
settings > E-mail messages. See “E-mail,” p. 49.
But, E-mail messages is not under Message settings.
What am I missing?

I have the same problem. I use Thunderbird and I removed some e-mails from it knowing I could retrieve it from the web. Wrong!!! My TB account is set to not remove from web when I get it. The most that remains on the web are 10. I'll be going on vacation hoping to get my emails off the web, but I sure can't count on it. Don't want to dump Verizon and go through the hassle of notifying my contacts of a change in e-mail accounts and hoping they remember to change it.

Since 23rd February my BT openworld account has been awol. I can log into it from the web, and even send a message from it. Outlook just pings up the"enter password" box that is another way of saying "forget it, you ain't getting any messages". What I can't do is receive any emails to the account I've had for a decade. The cause is absolutely straightforward - on moving from the Yahoo server to the BT server they have somehow lost my account. This was explained to me after 3 days of trying to get it to work. Since then, nada. Every time I try to get some sense I get a polite call centre person reading from a script and a promise that it's been escalated to another level - to no avail. So I emailed them from my (new) gmail account and have had more of the same polite,inefectual replies - this is the last one, which was the same as the one before that, and before that.....

Its both. Outlook throws up a "enter password" error message, and I have changed the password and manually reset all the settings as you describe below. I can log into the web portal, and my email account is there - empty. I can send an email from it as a test, and it will arrive. If I copy my openworld account into that test email, it doesn't arrive. If I send an email to my openworld account from another account, it doesn't arrive. No emails have arrived in it since February 23rd.
I was told that my account has gone missing during the move from Yahoo to BT servers. I was told it might take up to a week to fix - that was in February. I assume it's lost in limbo, between the two servers.
I appreciate the reply, but I have really gone beyond expecting BT to fix it - I almost wish they would just admit it's gone forever. As you can imagine losing an email you've used for 10 years caused me some disruption, but that seems to be relatively unimportant. Thanks though for the quick response
