Emails not working - not connected to the internet

Hi,
I recently upgraded the OS on my z10, now running 10.1.0.4181. After the upgrade, my emails stopped working. When I go to accounts in settings, for my email accounts it tells me " your device is not connected to a network. Please connect to a network and try again."
All the social media applications along with all social messaging apps are working just fine.
Now to troubleshoot, I have tried almost everything including re subscribing to my data package. And still I can browse and use all other apps except for emails ( giving the same message).
If anyone has experienced the same or knows the solution, it would be great if you could help me out here.
Thanks.

When powered on hold down the power button for 10 seconds, this will reset your phone. Do this before the below steps if you have not already done it.
No luck, go to Settings, Network Connections, tap your network.
Change Network Selection Mode from Automatic to Manual wait a few  seconds, if Scan does not start, tap Scan.
Choose your Network, do not choose any of the others they will not work.

hi, i am not able to connect to the internet. wifi not working. not able to find proper drivers for 32 bit win.7 os. need urgent help..

    Hi:
I can give you the link to the wifi driver, if you do the following steps to post the hardware ID for the wireless card, so I can figure out what model wireless card the notebook has...
To find the hardware ID, go to the device manager and click on the device labeled Network Controller.
Then click on the Details tab at the top of the Network Controller window.
Now you see a Property drop down list and it is defaulted to Device Description.
Drop down on that list and select the second item (Hardware ID's).
Post the top string of characters you see in the window.

  • My ipod 5g says it is 1969 and will not let me connect to the internet

When I charged my ipod touch 5g and it turned on it said it's 1969 and won't let me connect to the internet. I've restarted my ipod, I've tried resetting all settings including network and I tried connecting it to itunes but it won't connect to itunes due to an unknown error. How do I get my ipod to connect to the wifi and reset to the correct date and time?

Please tell me that it has NEVER been jailbroke.  If it has never been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, read this.

  • Self-assigned IP address which is not able to connect to the internet.

Okay, so my whole issue started around six or more months ago. I have a white MacBook which I have never particularly had any connectivity problems with, at least that where caused by my laptop. I constantly am on the internet at home and have never had issues with wireless connection here. I am a full time student which means I am also constantly on campus with my laptop and needing access to the internet. Even so, there I have never had any issues with connectivity.
My issue is when I go to another university campus I am unable to connect to the internet. My airport finds the network I want and connects to it but usually within a few seconds the radial bars go a light gray and have an exclamation point through them . When looking under the Airport drop down list it simply says, "Airport has a self-assigned IP address and may not be able to connect to the internet." This particular IP that is not allowing me to access the internet starts off with 169.**.*.**. I would provide the entire IP but as I am not on that campus at the moment, I can't and don't remember it fully.
I have tried SO many different things in order to find a solution but have come up empty handed every time. I've tried turning off my firewall and all of the steps that resolution includes and have also tried to resolve the issue through the creation of a new location, new network, and the use of network assistant on Airport.
I know it is not an issue of the universities wireless network because I can easily connect to the internet through my Ipod Touch without a password simply by finding the network, connecting, stating I'm a guest, and then agreeing to the terms of use. Same goes for my local campus wireless network on both my Ipod Touch and MacBook.
I am in extreme need of a resolution and would GREATLY appreciate any kind of feedback anyone can give me. If there is any other information you may need to help me out a little more accurately just let me know, I'll be happy to give you whatever I can so that I may figure this annoyance out!

By the way, totally didn't mean to categorize this under Airport for Windows. This is my first post and OBVIOUSLY a figured out a way to mess it up. My bad. :S
But again I'd appreciate any help! :]

  • Picking up wireless signal, but it's not letting me connect to the internet

I live in a college dorm, and I pick up an airport signal from someone else, and last night the internet was down all around. This morning however, it came back up and I have a full airport signal, but I can't connect to the internet through it. Additionally, it keeps scrolling, 'looking for PPPoE host', and I keep getting a little pop up window from internet connect asking me for some password (I'm not entirely sure what password). I was messing around with the settings on my computer last night making sure that it wasn't my computer, and I may have done something but I'm not sure what. Does anyone have any idea what I might have done and how to fix it? I would go to the help desk here but they said they can't see me until Thursday, so any suggestions anyone has would be helpful.

Hello dancerhelen2006. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
This morning however, it came back up and I have a full airport signal, but I can't connect to the internet through it. Additionally, it keeps scrolling, 'looking for PPPoE host', and I keep getting a little pop up window from internet connect asking me for some password (I'm not entirely sure what password).
This typically would indicate that your computer is trying to use PPPoE (username/password) to access the Internet service. If the Internet provider does not require PPPoE, then this would not be necessary.
    Let's double-check your AirPort settings ...
System Preferences > Network > Show > Network Port Configurations
o Verify that an AirPort option exists. If it does not, click "New" to create one. (Note: If you are unable to create an AirPort configuration, the AirPort card in your computer either doesn't exist or it is not recognized.)
o Verify that AirPort is "On" (checked)
o Verify that AirPort is at the top of the list. If it isn't, you can drag it to the top.
Systems Preferences > Network > Show > AirPort
    AirPort tab
    o By default, join: Automatic
    TCP/IP tab
    o Configure IPv4: Using DHCP
o Configure IPv6: Automatically or Off
    Proxies tab
    o Configure Proxies: Manually
o Select a proxy server to configure: <All proxies should be unchecked unless you specifically require a proxy for Internet access.>
    o Exclude simple hostnames (unchecked)
o Bypass proxy settings for these Hosts & Domains: <leave blank>
o Use Passive FTP Mode (PASV) (checked)

  • WRT150N not able to connect to the Internet... (urgent)

Hello. I recently bought the Linksys WRT150N wireless router to use at home. I want to be able to use the router with my laptop in the other room, while my main computer with the direct Internet cable is in a separate room. It seems to run fine... all the lights are on (power, ethernet 1, internet, and wireless), and I can use the internet fine through it. However, I encounter a problem during the Setup Wizard, specifically during step 11. After I set the router's Admin. password, it says "the router is connecting to the internet, please wait." Then I get an error message that states: "The Router is unable to connect to the Internet. Try turning the DSL modem on/off again. Would you like to try again?" Here's a screenshot: http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/9369/40552080kj5.jpg I get this error message all the time. While I can use the internet, I cannot set up any security or use any of the features. My guess is that it's only connecting through the direct internet line. My router is set up like this: PC - Router - Direct Ethernet line/socket I have asked my ISP about this, but they have said that they do not currently support wireless routers or networks, so I can't expect any help from them. Is that the problem? Any suggestions or ideas? Much appreciated, thank you.

With my DSL provider, I had to change settings on the modem to ethernet bridge and then set PPoE on my router and use it to authenticate to my provider.  Are you doing that?
Pretty lousy of them not to support routers.

  • Airport self-assigned IP address not able to connect to the internet

I installed airport into my eMac and have been using for over a month with no problems. Today I crashed using iWeb and had to restart with the startup button. Upon restart I couldn't get onto the internet via airport. The computer gets on via ethernet and my MacBook can still access the internet via airport. When I am trying to connect with airport I am told I am connected to my wireless network but the System Preferences>Network with Location set to Automatic, Shows Network Status as "Airport has a self-assigned IP address and may not be able to connect to the internet." I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make it not self-assign an IP address. I hope someone out there can.

Ouch I was hoping someone would have replied after I went to bed last night.
So I looked at some other posts and tried running applejack to no avail. I also removed the network from my prefered selection and reselected it to see if the WEP was the porblem, it wasn't. Then I switched to manual selection of IP and typed in 192.168.0.1 with subnet mask 255.255.255.0. This got rid of the self-assigned IP note but when I tried to use Safari it still said I wasn't connected to the internet. Ugh. Could removing and replacing my airport card fix this problem?

  • My macbook air does not always automatically connect to the internet

My macbook air only connects to my home internet automatically occasionally, even though it is set to connect to the network automatically. I have to either manually type in my internet and password almost every time or I have to turn off and on the AirPort. This does not happen at other places where my computer is set to connect automatically. My mom has the same computer as me and lives in the same house and she has no problems connecting to the internet. How do I fix this?

    Hi ...
I have to either manually type in my internet and password almost every time or I have to turn off and on the AirPort
Open Airport Utility located in /Applications/Utilities
    Select Passwords on the left.
Type  base station    in the search field top right corner of that window.
Now right or control click the base station keychain, then click Delete.
Now open Airport Utility located in /Applications/Utilties
Select the base station config on the left then click Manual Setup.
Select AirPort from the menu then select the Wireless tab.
Type in your Wireless Password then again in Verify Password.
Select:  Remember this password in my keychain
You shoud not have to re enter your base station password repeatedly now and you may be prompted to save the password to a new keychain. Click Yes.

  • Not able to connect to the internet

I keep getting a message that the router does not know the 'Service Name" so there is no connection.  The internet light keeps blinking too.  Know of any fixes?

You are right, when you download the firmware you cannot open it as it is a binary file...
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device: -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page.In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1
Leave the username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful"  After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router using the same link given earlier...Start from where it says " Setting-Up a Linksys Router for Cable "...

  • How can I get a Firefox on CD? I have a computer that is not able to connect to the internet due to a virus so I am not able to download the software

The computer was running IE, but that now seems to be corrupted

You can download the setup file from http://www.mozilla.com/ using the computer that can connect to the internet. You can copy the setup file (Firefox Setup 3.6.10.exe) to a USB key or burn it to a CD.
You can buy a CD from http://store.mozilla.org/ but I don't know how long it will take to arrive.

I am unable to create a 'new email message'when I connect to the bigpond.com webmail through the internet from my ipad2.

    Try this. Settings>Safari>Block Pop-Ups>Off.
I have an Exchange account that behaved similarly to what you are describing. I finally realized that I had to allow pop ups in order to access my mail on the server.

  • HT201401 MY NEW PHONE WILL NOT WORK UNLESS CONNECTED TO THE POWER SOURCE

My iphone 4 has been faulty since getting it on contract with 3mobile in jan.  The phone will work when plugged into a power source but not otherwise.  I have contacted apple and followed their inistructions but still not working.  Some one has told me it sounds like the charger connection within the phone does anyone else have this problem ??? i am losing patience with both apple and 3 now

    1. Try doing a hard reset while connected to the adapter:
Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears.
    2. If that doesn't solve the issue, backup the device and restore it as new.
    In that case, use: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
NB: set up as a NEW device because a software issue will be in the backup. If the issue persists after restoring as new, you should offer the device for service.
If you get specific error messages/codes in iTunes when updating/restoring, check this: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694 for causes and solutions
    Good luck

  • Airport extreme - is it possible to limit the range of access? I am wondering if I could limit the range to a few rooms downstairs of where it sits. It is not our main connection to the internet but an extending device.

airport extreme - is it possible to limit the range of access?

Sorry, you would need a 5.x version of AirPort Utility to limit the Transmit Power of the AirPort Extreme.......AND.....you would need to have an AirPort Extreme version that is flat, square shaped.
The newer version of the AirPort Extreme looks like a tower.  Like the picture below. The Transmit Power can NOT be adjusted on that model:
I would not recommend that you "update" to Yosemite. Too many bugs.
It is possible to limit that times each day that a wireless device will be allowed to connect to the wireless network, so that might be a possibility.  Example, you could limit Junior's iPad to the hours of 5 PM to 9 PM each day.  He would not be able to connect to the network at any other time.
Unfortunately, it won't take him long to find another network, or if its an iPhone, he can use 3G or 4G.
