Emails on Curve 9320

Hi, suddenly last week i stopped receiving and being able to send emails from my Blackberry. This is a personal account with TalkTalk and was working fine until a few days ago.
I have manged to delete the account from the phone from other web sites giving advice and have tried to set it up again following the instruction given but i dont get the same options come up as they suggest to follow?
Example: I go into setup and there is nothing showing against Email Accounts, click on this and the phone says "Connecting to Email Settings" this goes on for a while then eventually i get "Your device had a problem connecting to the server". Most sites say i should get options here to set the private email address up again? Someone else has suggested returning the evice back to factory settings and starting again, but wont i loose all my info on the phone, ie contacts/photos etc
I have also tried my Blackberry ID but the email address is still there and doesnt seem to give the option to delete and start again. I really need help as in the process of buying a house and need emails to come through instantly so i can reply and arrange things. Anyone out there can help or advise would be much appreciated or i will have to look for a new phone to solve the problem but dont really want to at this stage.
Many thanks, steve.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
3) Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Now see if you can setup your email accounts, via the on-device wizard, via your BB browser to www.blackberry.com/integrate, via PC browser to your carriers BIS site (if they have one...you have to ask them), as well as by ringing up your carrier for formal support.
To (hopefully...hard to find them amidst your post) answer your questions...

Not knowing what other advice you found, it's rather difficult to answer that...
csteve wrote:

I'm sorry, I don't understand...if there is nothing showing, what then is there to click on?
csteve wrote:

Hopefully the steps above will cure that.
csteve wrote:

"here"...where is here? I can't follow what you are saying. Step by step what you do, and exactly what happens is important to helping us to understand your situation.
csteve wrote:

Yes...any WIPE action (ResetToFactory is but one method of doing a WIPE) indeed loses all user data. But that, of course, it exactly the point of backups, which I'm sure you perform regularly, and should do in advance of anything major (as you are doing now). A device WIPE may well be needed...but we can't tell yet from what you've revealed if it is or is not advised for you.
csteve wrote:

What? Can you describe that a bit more clearly please? I really don't understand at all what you are saying there. Again, step-by-step will help us to understand. We can't see you and don't know what you've done or what you are seeing.

First post with a problem and you are thinking about giving up? Hmmm...please try what has been recommended here and see what happens. Please describe properly so that we can understand your words. I realize that you are under stress right now, but it won't help you if we can't understand you.
Thanks and good luck!

Everytime i try to set up email i get the following message. Activation request failed. A service connection is unavailable. How do i sort this
    Thanks

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Here is a KB that discusses that error:
KB12660 "Activation request failed - a service connection is unavailable" when performing a wireless enterprise activation process
As you can see, that applies to BES...you did not say, so I can only assume (since that's the only on point KB). As such, you should work with your BES admin.
Good luck and let us know!

Suddenly whenever I recieve an email and click on it it opens for a split second then dissappears. Why is this happening.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness shows up, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.

  • Help on BB curve 9320 - email problem

PROBLEM: Whenever I send a mail from the handset, it shows as "SENT" but the receipient does not receive the same...
FOLLOWING IS THE HISTORY of changes in the handset
    1. My BB curve 9320 was linked with Enterprise Activation Account in the beginning...
    2. Right now, i need not have to use Enterprise Activation ACcount.  Following was the process carried out for this:
a - From my voice plan and data plan service provider I changed the account to remove "Enterprise ACtivation Account"
b - I went  for a new data plan that is compatible with Blackberry handsets...
c - From the handset, options -> security -> security wipe, I selected all and did a "wipe".....All the information got deleted...
    3.  Now when I select, setup -> email account -> the handset displays -> "BLACKBERRY HANDSET SIGN IN"....I forgot the password of the same.... "Why should this dispaly happen when I want to use the handset only to check emails of my personal accounts?"
    My requirement is:
    1. I wish to add two personal account of mine....

Can you clarify a bit? Is it asking for a device password or is it asking for a BlackBerry ID password? These are two different things.
If it's just asking for a device password then it likely still has the IT policy from the BES you were connected to. You can remove that IT policy by following the instructions below:
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB18998
    1. Please thank those who help you by clicking the "Like" button at the bottom of the post that helped you.

  • Outlook 2003 Contacts Sync with Curve 9320

    Blackberry Curve 9320 | Blackberry Desktop Software (7.1 Bundle 1319) | Windows XP SP3 | Office 2003 SP3
Email stored in local pst file (no Exchange server)
I'm  trying to sync a specific Contacts folder from Outlook to the 9320. I do the following in the software:
    - Organizer
    - Tick Contacts
    - Configure…
    - Sync direction: One way to your device only
    - Contacts account: Microsoft Outlook
    - Configure… | Outlook Profile: MS Exchange Settings (Only option)
    - Advanced…
At this point I get a message box twice:
"WMS Idle: Rim.Desktop.exe - Unable To Locate Component
This application has failed to start because BJABLR32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
Advance Contact Settings still opens so I:
    - Folders tab
    - Select different contacts to sync
    - Add required mailbox
    - Change Default Folder
    - Close and Sync Organiser
    Then I get:
    "Synchronization Error
A program error occurred at line 1548 in .\OIAccess.cpp. Please report this error by sending a log to technical support."
It appears to try and transfer 3 items (there are 100+) but no contacts are transferred.
I have reinstalled Blackberry software but the error remains.
The missing file is part of Office 2003 SP3 but despite a reinstall of the Service Pack the file was not installed in ..\Windows\System32 where it belongs.
What should be my next step?

Are there any alternatives to importing contacts from Outlook?

  • Curve 9320 does not sync with outlook 2010

Well, I've seen some posts about this issue, yet, not found much in the way of solutions.
I have a curve 9320, oldie but goodie.  I also have Outlook 2010 on this Win 7 Pro computer.
The BB desktop software is v.7.1 bundle 2814.
Now, when I ask the BB desktop to sync with outlook it gives me one choice under config - Outlook profile. that seems to make sense, I only have 1 profile in Outook.
I ask it to sync, and the progress bar moves along, the task completes and it says sync complete.  And yet, nothing in the contacts, or calendar on either side has changed.  It says there are changes, but I can't see them on the outlook calendar or contacts.
I read in one post that having a blank email field might mess up the sync with the contacts, but could that compromise the calendar sync as well?  I set the BB desktop to only sync the calendar, and still no changes.
Any thoughts and ideas would be appreciated.
Or should I just grin and bear it until I can get the classic....
    thanks
    Matthew

OH Crap, I just purchased one today and all my contacts, scheduling etc, are in Outlook.  A friend told me to stick with HTC I should have listened.  I guess I've got time to take it back since it's only 10 hours old.

    Hello Sushu
    Welcome to BlackBerry Support Forums
If you want to access most BlackBerry Application over your Mobile Network then a  normal 3G data plan will not allow us, for that you have to activate BIS / BlackBerry Data Plan from our Carrier . However currently many application may work over a WiFi network .
So if you want to use those applications over your Carrier Network then call Vodafone and activate BIS  on your account.

    Hey shivamr25,
    Thanks for the reply.
After checking your PIN number, it shows you do not have a BlackBerry® data plan with your network service provider.  This is required to use Google® Talk.  Contact your network service provider to add a plan.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

i'm new user of BB curve 9320 in 7.1. It's impossible for me to configure mail acount to this phone.
So when i try to configure this, the phone ask me an activation password.
    What is this password?
I try to connect this phone to my exchange serveur mailbox with MAPI protocol

    Hello,
From what you describe, you are on BES...as such, your BES admin (your work, your BES email service provider, etc.) would give you the required password.
If you are not on BES, and the only option you are seeing is Enterprise, then you need to talk to your mobile service provider and subscribe to a service plan to enable personal/internet email accounts on your dervice.
    Good luck!

    1. whenever I am trying to make a call or opening any message my phone power suddenly goes OFF and not starting till I pullback the battery and re-inserted.
    2. Some time automatically its battery got heated up and there is discharge of battery, but when i pull back and re-inserted battery it becomes normal.

please suggest what to do. I tried to go back to download old software but I am not able to get it anywhere online.

    Hey iftekhar,
Welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
I would suggest backing up doing a clean reload of the BlackBerry® device software as shown here: http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/KB11320. Please test before restoring any data to the device.
If this resolves the issue do a selective restore of essential data (Address Book, Calendar, Task, Memos, BBM contacts etc.)
How to use BlackBerry® Desktop Software to restore data to a BlackBerry® smartphone from a backup file
    http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/KB10339.
If the issue still persists after the reload, further investigation might be required. To help further diagnose the cause, contact your wireless service provider or BlackBerry® Technical Support Services for further review and support.
    Thank you.

Depending on what your email admins face to the internet, maybe. Via BIS, a BB can integrate with most all POP, IMAP, and OWA internet-facing systems. But, it will depend on what faces the internet:
KB03119 Requirements for integrating IMAP and POP email accounts with a BlackBerry Internet Service account
KB04478 Integrate POP accounts with the BlackBerry Internet Service
KB10154 How to integrate a POP or IMAP email account through advanced integration
KB03133How to integrate a Microsoft Outlook Web Access email address on BlackBerry smartphone
Depending on what your email system faces to the internet, one of those should get you going.

I know what "WhatsApp" is, but what is "WhatsApp & Co."? In any event, WhatsApp does not require BES (I have heard others report that it does require BIS though).
