Embed an excel Power Pivot in an IFrame in a website

Hi
Is it possible to use an IFrame to in an html-page to integrate an excel-file from Sharepoint Online with all elements?
When I copy the url and use the link with WopiFrame.aspx and different action option, the result is not as requested.
The slicer-element should be displayed and the buttons to refresh the connections is needed too. When I transfer the xls-file in to full view, all is ok, but in iFrame, it's not ok.
Some help?
Best regards
Christoph

    Hi ,
    Power View :
Power View provides intuitive ad-hoc reporting for business users such as data analysts, business decision makers, and information workers. They can easily create and interact with views of data from data models based on PowerPivot workbooks or tabular models

Power Pivot : is a free add-in to the 2010 version of the spreadsheet application Microsoft Excel. In Excel 2013, Power Pivot is only available for certain versions of Office.[1] It extends the capabilities of the pivot table data summarization
and cross-tabulation feature with new features such as expanded data capacity, advanced calculations, ability to import data from multiple sources, and the ability to publish the workbooks as interactive web applications.[2] As such, Power Pivot falls under

  • Power BI - Office 365 data storage for Excel (Power Pivot & Power Query) architecture

Hi, I trying to find a comprehensive view of the Power BI architecture, specifically where the data for Power Pivot & Power Query files are held. I've seen reference to the Vertipaq Engine and the data being stored in the Excel File, however this is
    in reference to 2010.
Other references I've seen (SharePoint on premise with Power Pivot) have shown me that the data held in the Excel files on the SharePoint sites are actually held in SQL Server instances.
Could anyone provide clarity on the architecture for Power BI please...
    Tim
Thank you for you time folks!

    Hi Tim,
let my try to explain this:
When you load data into Power Pivot it is actually loaded into Vertipaq (in-memory column-store) and it resides there until you close Excel. Technically speaking Power Pivot is a single-user SQL Server Analysis Services instance hosted within Excel. When you
close Excel a backup of the Power Pivot "database" is created and stored within the resulting .xlsx-file .
Any user that has access to the Excel file also has access to the Power Pivot model, so there is actually no security
This is very similar to any other excel file
Once the Excel is stored in SharePoint / SharePointOnline and is access the first time the backup that is stored within the Excel is restored into SQL Server Analysis Services instance running in SharePoint Integrate mode
all connections to the Excel-File are redirected to that SSAS instance. After some time of inactivity the model is unloaded from that SSAS instance again to free up the memory
the data itself so basically always resides inside Power Pivot or respectively the Excel file
Power Query only stores the actual query (= M-script) but no data

  • Power Pivot enable Excel workbook protection with password?

    Hi All
We have a power pivot deployment without SharePoint in excel 2013 professional plus. All woks fine until we use a password to protect excel workbook so unauthorised users cannot open it. After enabling password protection we cannot access the power pivot
data model under power pivot excel tab. It tries to upgrade the power pivot model(which is not logical because it didn't do it before and was working fine). thereafter upgrade fails.
Has anyone successfully password protected a power pivot excel 2013 workbook? Is there a workaround to enabling security without SharePoint/office 365 etc?
    Thanks
    Sonny

    Hi Sonny,
PowerPivot does not support row security or dynamic security. Security for a workbook is just a binary choice – either a user can read a workbook or she can’t.
In this case, I would suggest you consider designing Tabular model which can be secured using row security and dynamic security is also supported. For more information, please see:
Comparing Tabular and Multidimensional Solutions (SSAS):

  • How to create and export a sharepoint list connection file to excel connection file library from power pivot?

    Hi All,
I'm new to SharePoint and Power BI.
I've to use  share point 2013 lists to create power view reports. For that, I need to create Power Pivot in Excel 2013.
I'm fine with the above. We normally take a data feed of a list and create connection to that. We need to create a connection file (.odc) and export it into a excel file connection library of Share point. The connection to be made to share point list. The
power pivot will be having multiple related lists.
How can I create a connection file which is referring to share point list
    Please suggest.
    Regards,
    Julie

    Hi All,
Finally, I could find the answer for this question after a long search.
First of all, open a new excel file in server.
    Data-->From other connection-->From data connection wizard-->data feed-->Location of the data feed-->
    http://sharepointsite/sitename/_vti_bin/ListData.svc
-->next-->select the lists which you need-->next-->only create connection-->properties--->export connection file
    -->ok
The connection file has been created and .odc file exported to the specified location.
Open power pivot and check the connection in existing connections.
Exported file has to be uploaded in Excel file connection library of share point 2013. So that you can refer the same in this excel file when you upload it into share point.
    Regards,
    Julie

  • Excel 2013 Standalone - Power Pivot Plug-in not visible or available for activation

    Dear Microsoft Team
According to your blog, the Excel 2013 standalone SKUs have now been updated to include Power Pivot and Power View.  (follow this link: http://blogs.technet.com/b/the_microsoft_excel_support_team_blog/archive/2013/02/27/unable-to-use-excel-2010-powerpivot-workbooks-in-excel-2013.aspx)
I've just bought Excel 2013 standalone (non-commercial, SKU AAA-01350) from the MS Store and cannot see either Power Pivot or Power View among the list of the COM Add-ins available. The corresponding sections don't appear in the Excel ribbon.
Are you aware of any glitches in the Office 2013 installation logic that might have caused such a problem? My PC runs Windows 8 (32-bit), with both Office 2010 and Excel 2013 Standalone installed.
    Thanks

    Hi Ron
Thanks for your prompt reply. Unfortunately, that didn't make much difference. I had a dialog shown to me reading the following:
Update for Microsoft Excel 2013 (KB2817425): There are no products affected by this package installed on this system.
I've since done some digging around and there seem to be other accounts of the newly updated Excel 2013 Standalone not installing Power Pivot. Here is the link (scroll all the way down, to the most recent comments):
    http://www.powerpivotpro.com/2013/08/power-pivot-power-view-now-available-in-2013/

  • Best practises for using Excel functions on Power Pivot Data

    Hi
How do you suggest to perform calculations on cells in a power pivot table? Obviously the ideal approach is to use a DAX measure. But given that DAX doesn't have every function, is there a recommended way of eg adding an "extra"  ( ie just
adjacent)  column to a pivot table. ( in particular I want to use beta.inv )
I could imagine one option of adding some VBA that would update the extra column as the pivot table itself refreshed ( and added more/less rows)
    thanks
    sean

    Hi Sean,
I don't know what's your expected requirement regarding this issue, maybe you can share some sample data or scenario to us for further investigation. As we know, if we need to add extra column to PowerPivot data model, we can directly
    create a calcuated column:
    calculated columns:
    http://www.powerpivot-info.com/post/178-how-to-add-dax-calculations-to-the-powerpivot-workbooks
There are some different between Excel and DAX functions, here are the list for your reference:

  • Office 365 Home Premium (2013) vs Excel Standalone (2013) - Looking for Power Pivot

Hi I have read a few comments here on this site but still have a question about the topic.
I currently have an OEM Office 365 Home Premium with Excel 2013 in it but no power pivot available. My objective is to get Power Pivot. Can anyone advise how can I do that? I installed my Office 365 using Click-To-Run so I don't think this allows me to disable
any specific application e.g. Excel 2013 that's bundled with the rest of Office 365 I purchased.
I heard that Excel 2013 Standalone can be bought and downloaded and it does come with power pivot add in. Is this true? If so can I buy the Excel 2013 standalone then run it side by side with the Office 365 Home Premium I have now installed or
will it clash and have issues when used together ?
MS official sites say you can only get the power pivot as add in if you purchase Office 365 Plus. I'm a bit confused. If that is true does it mean the Excel Standalone has no power pivot available?
Thanks and I'm looking for any seasoned user who can share their experience using Excel 2013 standalones or users with 365 having version 15.0.4649.1001
    Thanks - Felix

    Hi,
Power Pivot are available in the Office Professional Plus and Office 365 Professional Plus editions, and
in the standalone edition of Excel.
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/start-power-pivot-in-microsoft-excel-2013-add-in-HA102837097.aspx
Then, please note the following thing when you install Office 365 and other Office version side by side.
As you said, Office 365 usually uses Click to Run version(C2R), and Office 2013 MSI on a system with Office 365 (Click to Run) is NOT supported, thus, we need to install the C2R version of Excel 2013 standalone edition.

  • How to make a report to display next 18 months of data with when user select a particular month from the filter in power pivot tabular model.

    Hi,
i have a  dimension table  with month_key having values (201201,201202,201203.......202011,202012) and month name ( Jan 12, feb 12,......NOV 20, Dec 20)  and a fact  table with columns (month_key ,measure_types, Amount)
My requirement is to create a power pivot report  in which when a user select a month from the filter, the report should display the (selected month+18 ) month's data against each type . when JAN 12 is selected ,the jan 2012 +18 = june 2013
, month name should be populated with months till june 2013 only .
i tried creating calculated column"END DATE " in the fact table with  dax expression to calculate the 18th monh from the current month  as below
    month_key END DATE
    201201       201306
    201202       201307
and thought of filtering the table with month key <= ENDDATE but it is not working as expected. could you please guide me on this ? Is there any time intelligence function that serve the purpose . Iam using  excel 2010
..hence could not do any calculation on the report side also. please suggest .
    Thanks in advance

Do you need to show the measure calculated for those 18 months as a total on 1 row, or do you need to select a single month and then display on row filters 18 distinct rows?
The first is trivial as driezl has suggested.
The second will require a second calendar table.
I created this example workbook for a coworker who had a similar problem. You will have to use the disconnected table as your filter and pull your related table onto the rows.
Finally, the easiest way to deal with the sort of date arithmetic you need to do is to restructure your date table to have a series of "Sequential" fields. These fields should be the number of units of time since the beginning of your calendar.
    For example, consider a calendar starting on January 1, 2010. For January - December 2010, [MonthSequential] = 1, 2, ..., 12. For January - December 2011, [MonthSequential] = 13, 14, ..., 24, and so on, incrementing by 1 for each sequential month in time.
Assuming you have this set up in your date tables (one related to your model - DimDate - and one disconnected - DisconDimDate) your measure would look like this:
    18 Month Measure:=
    CALCULATE( [Measure]
    , FILTER( DimDate
    , DimDate[MonthSequential] >= MAX( DisconDimDate[MonthSequential] )
    && DimDate[MonthSequential] <= MAX( DisconDimDate[MonthSequential] ) + 18
Please review this example along with the workbook I have linked above.

  • Data loaded to Power Pivot via Power Query is not yet supported in SSAS Tabular Cube

Hello, I'm trying to create a SSAS Tabular cube from a data loaded to Power Pivot via Power Query (SAP BOBJ connector) but looks like is not yet supported.
Any one tried this before? any workaround that make sense?
The final goal is pull data from SAP BW, BO Universe (using PowerQuery) and be able to create a SSAS Tabular cube.
    Thanks in advance
    Sebastian

    Sebastian,
Depending on the size of the data from Analysis Services, one work around could be to import the data into into Excel and then make an Excel table and then use the Excel table as a data source.
