EMBED URL link in Illustrator

I found that many people are searching a way to add an URL link to a .AI file that works after exporting to PDF.
The only way seems to place a text field with the complete URL (for ex. a youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3c7-EPNTnPI).
In my case I prefered show an alternate text instead of a long URL, for example a better "WATCH THE VIDEO". My method consist in simply arrange the URL text field (the only that works in PDF file) over the custom text, stretch it for perfect occupying the hot-spot you want and assigning a alpha 1% (do not set alpha 0% because this will make the text box inesixtense). This make it practically invisible but still clickable in the output PDF file. This method works also with an image under the "half-invisible URL" text.

Embedding links in illustrator removes the file name

So, when I embed a link in illustrator (usually psd files) sometimes it keeps the name of the file and sometimes it only keeps the thumbnail and I loose the name of the file.
This can prove to be difficult if you have several links and need to relink at any given point.
Is there something I am doing wrong when embedding files? some sort of preference that I am not aware that should be active?

Don't embed the link. If there is a chance that you will need to change or update a linked item, don't embed until the last moment. If you absolutely need the file path you could include it in the notes in the Attributes panel or as the layer name in the Layers panel.

No options under the distribute tab to copy url link or embed a fillable PDF form

I Have a paid basic account is not giving me the option to under the distribute tab to copy url link or embed a fillable PDF form? Simply put it doesn't show up for an option. I want to embed the form into my website but the embed feature is not showing up? Please help I have been at this all day.

Based on your answer above, it sounds like you uploaded the file to your website, as opposed to the function being available from formscentral.
If you have downloaded the file from Acrobat Pro then uploaded it to a website and had the upload pinned to a download button, then that is going to be a function of your website. Your workaround has nothing to do with formscentral itself.
You essentially uploaded the file to your website, then made it a downloadable file. The reason it is opening in your browser is because you have the Adobe Reader/Acrobat plug-in for your browser. It's not actually "embedded". If you uninstalled all of your adobe plug-ins, then it would open Reader or Acrobat, not in the browser. The reason it only opens in Safari is likely due to the fact that you only have the Adobe Reader/Acrobat plug-in enabled for Safari, and it is disabled for the other browsers.

URL link to open transaction in NWBC Desktop client

I am trying to create an URL link to open a transaction in a role that I am using.
The webpage is shown in a web-chip as a part of FPM page inthe NWBC desktop client.
I have tried this type of concept: https://serverXX:8000/sap/bc/nwbc/~canvas/roleEntry/MyROLE:56/
The problem is that this opens the transaction in the HTML version of NWBC (inside NWBC desktop client).
However, I would do not want to use the HTML based version of the transaction. I want to use nativ abap transaction inside NWBC Desktop client.
I am able to open the transaction with a link from a webbrowser with this type of link:
sap-nwbc://https://serverXX:8000/sap/bc/nwbc/~canvas/roleEntry/MyROLE:56/
This link does not open at all from within NWBC....
How do I achieve opening a transaction via URL from inside the NWBC Desktop client?

Same issue i have as well.
My Understanding is, in NWBC desktop, if you open a non sap (eg: html) page, NWBC becomes an IE Browser.
That means you are now out of SAP for that tab (with html page) and whenever you try to launch any SAP transaction (using the method from HTML) it will launch in a new window and ask for Login.
May be Experts like Samuli Kaski & Melinda Ludanyi can put some light on it.
But, I have one more solution for this which is partially working in my case. May be helpful in you case as well.
Issue: From some SAP transaction in NWBC (say tab A), you are launching the html page (say tab B) and then want to launch another SAP transaction (Say tab C) from html.
Solution: Embed the HTML in SAP using HTML Viewer class and launch SAP custom transaction using the interface IF_LSAPI. It will launch it in new tab as a sap transaction with your html page.
Now if you want to launch the SAP transaction from your html page (Which is embedded in SAP custom transaction) you can use HTML Viewer class Events and you can pass parameters as well. Re use the same interface IF_LSAPI and launch it in new tab
In my case i am facing problems as the web developer has so many things on java script and they are not working properly. He is working on it and i am hoping it will be fine.

How can I properly embed deep links that contain http: twice

We have an online bookstore where we need to embed deep links to a booktopia page. I have tested the links given to us by the affiliate program (DGM performace) and they work perfectly but when I embed them into muse and hit publish they give me a server not found page.

I have established that this seems to be an error in the way muse is interpretting the link (or maybe business catalyst) as the link I paste into muse is:

You can't have two http in a URL. Why do you have two? Try taking one out.

How to remove bullets and spacing for url links in the Related Links iview?

I tried to look for a property that I can edit the look-n-feel of the url links in the Related Link iView using "Theme Editor".
All I need is to remove the bullets and increase some vertical spacing between the links.
Currently, it looks like this:
URL iView A
URL Iview B
I go through the whole section of Related Links properties, none of them seems to do what I want.
Here are the list of properties in Related Link section (of Navigation Panel):
Link Color
Text Decoration of Link
Hover Color
Text Decoration of Hovered Link
Initially, I thought "Text Decoration of Link" should be the right property I should look at. But there are a drop-down with 5 options: None, Underline, Blinking, Overline and Line-Through, which really can't achieve what I want.

I checked the Related iView properties (URL Template), I don't see what layoutset it is really using. I am not sure, is that a layout set apply to the Related Link Iview?
For the regular KM iView, I will see what Layout Set I want to apply, then I can go and change the properties (of layout coontroller, collection renderer & resource renderer)you mentioned. But for this Related Link iView, I really don't know. I guess it may be in the code itself.
If there is a layout set for Related Link iView (or the place to apply layout set to it), can you point to me which one is that? (I did a search through the layout set names, I only find the AppQuicklinkExplorer (I used this for Dynamic Nav. Link iView before), if I can aply this layout set to Related Link iView, my problem will be solved.)

The LinkToURL UI element is a hypertext link. When you choose this link, you are directed to a user-defined Web resource (URL).
The LinkToUrl is used to exclusively to open URLs in a separate window. To leave the Web Dynpro application and display a new URL use an exit plug.
1.in ur UI create tabs as u desire
2. In each TAB , add ViewContainer . ViewContainer you would be able to add inside tab.
3. Now create as many views as you have created Tabs.
4. Embed views into the corresponding ViewContainers , in ur first view embed link to URL

URL Link to BSP with MVC

Hi,
I have a BSP with MVC design.
I assume that the URL link to the application is the URL I see when I go into the Controller page under the BSP in SE80.
Is that correct?
The problem is that when I take that URL and copy paste it into a web browser, I get the first view but when I click on any button, the controller class is not called.
If I do a right click on the BSP and select the TEST option, all is working perfectly.
Do you have any idea why this is happening or do I do something wrong?

How to embed a link image with pop up windows?

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to embed a link
within flash movie? Once you click on it, it will pop up a new
window, but I want to disable the toolbars, status bar ..., and
only show the jpg image for this window.

If the Oracle Web Application you are talking about uses OAFramework then you can use personalization to add a link to the Ebiz suite page. But in order to fetch the userId and append it to the URL of the link you need to extend the controller in that page and set the destination of the link you had added in the controller. You have APIs on pageContext when you override the processRequest of the extended controller to fetch the userId. You can then create the URL by appending the userId and set it on the linkBean.
If you are new to OAF then you should read the devguide and personalization guide to get yourself familiarised with extending OAF application.

You need to embed the url link within the swf itself. The way
I used to
do it was draw a transparent button over the whole aera of
the swf and
attached the url to that. Get_url I think.
I can't exactly remember the steps to produce the results but
that the

I am using a mac - OSX 10.7.5
I have Adobe Creative Suites - CS5 - Illustrator version is 15.0.2
The contents I am placing are all Vector - Illustrator files
I used 'simple' linear (line) drawings from SolidWorks that have been converted to ai files. It's just weird because I checked the stroke of the drawing and it's not out of line (stroke is about .5 pts). I also made some of the labels in the examples below earlier and they didn't exhibit the 'larger stroke images'. Perhaps I clicked on something in the Preferences or some other place that caused my problem?
I am attaching part of some box labels. You can see how the drawings, of the products, on the 'left side' are "thick" (strokes have grown) after embedding them. I think the "Global Logo" was pasted into a template that was not linked and embedded - that's why it's okay. But look at the Quiet Thunder logo - it looks terrible. These labels are only 2.25" X 6.5", so its important I keep the images lightweight.

Automated URL Linking

We are creating a pdf which will be hosted by an e-catalog web service. The pdf is a catalog with hundreds and hundreds different product numbers that I want to link back to the product pages of a website. Linking each product number manually would be a drag. Is there a way to embed a large number of URL links in an InDesign document using XML or scripting? Thanks.

How can I create a link that goes to a different URL desintation other than the one the text states?
For example
the text states
www.aaaaa.com
and I want it to state this,
but I want the link to direct to
www.aaaaa.com/abcdefghijkl
I dont want to have to create a link object, I want it to stay as text?
Is this even possible?
