Embed(?) video in page that plays on Blackberry

I have a need to take the embed [or not] code from YouTube, place it on a web page I am setting up in Dreamweaver CS4, and then it will play back the video. The page and video needs to play in Blackberry's browser. I tried doing a simple <embed> from YT into the page, but it will not play the video in Blackberry.
Any idea what I need to do?

How do I embed an audio file that plays through the entire book?

I would like my students to listen to a story as they read it. Is there a way to embed the audio file and have it play through the entire book? I successfully embedded the audio file, but it stopped playing when I turned the page.

Audio is user controlled on a page-by-page basis in an iBA'd iBook.

On Firefox v.21, when I visit a web page that has an embedded video, I do NOT want it to play automatically. How do I turn this OFF?

I checked my options settings for applications, and all of the known apps that play various formats of video files appear to be set to 'Always ask'. This does not resolve this problem, however. What I want to do is to set Firefox to NEVER automatically play ANY video that is part of a web page that I visit.
How can I do this?

If I am seeing it correctly, the message in the video box
is reporting that the player has crashed. Reloading the
page should fix it. If your player still does not work
after reloading the page, you can go to the web page
for the player and download the player again.

Is there a way to embed video in a PDF that will play on a Mac or iPad?

I am creating a training document in Acrobat XI Pro (converted from Word). I have embedded a video into the PDF that plays within the document, and it works fine on my PC. When the file is opened on a Mac or iPad, the video will not play. As another option, I embedded the video as a YouTube widget. Again, it plays fine on my PC but won't play on a Mac or iPad. As a third option, I've tried hyperlinking a screen shot of the YouTube video in my PDF. On my PC and iPad it will navigate me to my browser to play the video in YouTube, but is not functional on my Mac.
Would welcome suggestions. Ideally want one solution that will play on all 3 devices!

First of all, if you want to run video inside a .pdf on an iPad, you should be aware that the Adobe Tablet and Mobile reader does NOT support rich media ( audio or video ). Despite trying to encourage Adobe to 'get real', it seems that they have no intention to do so in the short term. SO ... I have been working with a company called Readdle, and beta testing their 'PDF Expert' application, and it is probably the most sophisticated .pdf reader for iOS on the market.
It supports rich media, and certain levels of JavaScript that are particularly useful for this kind of work.
However, if all you want to do is insert video into a single .pdf document, that will run on iOS ( with 'PDF Expert only' ) as well as desktop Mac or PC, the video needs to be h264 .mp4 format ( basically avoid ANY based Flash content for iOS ).
You should also note, that active Buttons ( not hyperlinks, which are different ) which you might wish to create in say InDesign or even Acrobat, need to be made up of just imagery (and that also means converting your text to outlines ). However, this is only necessary for iOS with PDF Expert. Also be aware that I have not done much work which includes .pdf on Android.
I do think though that if you stick with basic navigation, avoid active 'Layers' authoring and only want to run simple video, the h264 .mp4 encoding is going to work across ALL platforms.

Can you please help me more, i am using eclipse on linux OS and trying to play video,using JMF,by using jmf.jar,mediaplayer.jar,multiplayer.jar files in my applications ,and when i run my class it gives error "No media player found" as there is no media player in linux,so how can i play my video in real player or in some other player in llinux using eclipse.
iam using sample code provided by JMF to play video.

Embed a Youtbe video in pages pdf.

If I create a report using pages09, then convert to a pdf for distribution, is ther a way I can embed a youtube link that will play right inside the document?
I don't mean have a video right in it, but rather embed the video link so as to not actually download a complete video file that is inside a pdf report, but play inside the pdf like it was really part of it. Wow I hope this makes some sense to someone.

I didn't read all of the instructional .pdf but it seemed to be covering the process of embedding or linking to media. That is not the same as what you are trying to do which is show the linked media within the bounds of the .pdf page.
I played with this in Acrobat 9.
The problem is to get the actual address of the .swf movie in YouTube.
This is being handled by a swag of .php, .css and other files.
If you open:
+Safari > Menu View > Activity+
You will see what is being loaded on the YouTube page. The .swf file will be the largest by far and will grow progressively. If you double click on the .swf name in the Activity list it will briefly show the actual address then DL it.
On my machine this happens so fast that I do not get a chance to capture the address which is otherwise truncated in the Activity list.
I tried taking the Shared address and pasting this into Acrobat's media dialog but it doesn't like it either.

Linked Video in InDesign not playing, is it possible to embed?

I have CS5, I have a few videos in my document. I am exporting as .swf using the Page curl option for a FlipBook presentation. I even made a generic video folder, and all the videos are contained in there. Plays fine on the computer I designed it on, but when I bring the .swf and the video folder to another computer, the videos do not play? Please let me know what I could be doing wrong or what I am missing here? thanks so much!

You can place the video in Keynote but it will be exported as a still.Adobe Acrobat Pro is needed to embed video in a PDF page.

Flash SWF with Video file will not play in web page

Hello Flash group,
I have created a flash video file from a *.wmv file.
myvideo.flv.
I have used flash to build an swf file that plays the video
(with a default skin).
I have then imported the media file into an html page using
Dreamweaver. I did not import the flv file, but the swf file with
the "video" in it.
The page plays find on my development server (where
Flash,Dreamweaver, etc is installed).
When I moved the html page, the flv file, the swf file and
the skin to my production webserver (linux and apache)
the flash files do not show up on the web page. The dev
server is a windows XP running apache 2.2)
Any ideas on what I need to do???

It may cause by any of the reason below:
- You have uploaded the flv file to the wrong directory
- Your flv file path/name is incorrect. check all case
sensitive etc.
- Your web server doesn't support FLV MIME type.

They are text based files that download when clicked so there is no need for any addition html code to open a new page.

Embed Videos not played with FP 10 and 11

Hi,
Can't watch embed videos in the latest FP versions 10 and 11, before I had no problems, running on W7 and IE9.
For example: if i'm on facebook (just to mention) and I click on any video I can hear them, but video goes black with some flashes of the vid itself. If I go to youtube (just to mention) I can watch and see that same video.
The only thing I have done to my PC is upgrade FP.
I have tried everything that adobe suggests before coming here.

Delay in playing embedded video on page load – DPS

Hi
I've created some DPS pages with embedded video content that plays on page load but there is a slight delay causing the page below to be exposed which in turn creates a jump between the underlying page and the loading video.
The video should load, play then disappear revealing the native InDesign page which also is a crisp version of the last frame of the video that has ended.
I don't use a poster image because it renders at a low resolution and is not as crisp as the vector based text below in the native InDesign page.
The page below is what is shown once the video has finished and closed down.
This delay causes a glitch which ruins the fluidity of an otherwise nice looking page.
I'm trying to re-create something along the same lines as the "Martha Stewart Living magazine" video front cover which is seamless and very slick.
Do you know how I can achieve this without the slow loading vid and help make the effect smoother.

From your description it sounds like you are trying to trigger auto-play using Media panel. For DPS you need to set the behaviour in the Folio Overlays panel. Click on the video, open the Folio Overlay panel, and check the Auto-play setting. If you are doing this as a cover you probably also want to enable "do not allow pause".

Hello, I'm trying to embed a quicktime video on page, but when I open it with Safari on iPad doesn't play.
Do I need to add some video beyond the tags?

You can use html5 <video> tag. It allows web developers to add videos into a web page without any special plugins.
The sample code for HTML5 video looks like this:

You can also use desktop software. I have used kvisoft flip book maker pro software to embed video in html. It is very easy to use. Anyone can use it without programming skills!

Quit the videos app completely.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Try the videos app again.
If that doesn't work, reboot the iPad. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If that fails, try this. Swipe to the right from your first home screen to get to the iPad Spotlight search. Type in the name of rhe movie in the field at the top. When the movie appears in the search - tap on it and it should start to play. Let it play for a minute or so - hit done - go back to videos app and see if all is OK.
But remember, once you start to play the rental, the timer starts.
