Embed vimeo videos in flash site

hello i have bought a flash site template.
I have been updating the site by way of  .xml in dreamweaver.
is there a way i can embed vimeo videos through the .xml file?
thanks,
Ryan

Hi
thanks for your reply. I am not sure really how should I
classify the videos I am taking about but let me try to explain...
You might have seen NIKE websites about football and
merchandise etc. On those website you will find a footballer
playing with foot ball or if you have seen a site of an energy
drink where there are few dancers, you need to answer few questions
to get to the dance movie of a dancer.
What I want to do is that I want to design a 3D environment
for my flash website where I want to show some people working in
office in a section of the site. For that I will make a video with
my digital camera and will use it in the site. Similarly I want to
show my own videos merged with the website design. So it sounds
like I am acting within the wesite design environment.
I hope I am clear enough now..

    you might have seen on many sites the affect in which small

  • How to embed Vimeo Video (URL/embed code) to InDesign interactiv PDF (A4 Format)?

    Hi there, I am looking for a way to embed a vimeo.com Video into my C.V.
    I copied the embed code on the vimeo site and pasted it into my InDesign document and added the "http:" in the HTML code. When I select the object and click on the Folio Overlay panel to Preview on Desktop I get the following Error:
    "The page size aspect ratio must match the folio aspect ratio."
    I triied resizing the frame of the pasted embed code to the page size of my PDF and resized the object itself within the frames to the page width afterwards but nothing stopped InDesign from givin me this error message.
    I am using CS 6 and I cannot place the video file in the indesign document itself for pdf file size reasons as u might understand.
    What am I doing wrong? Can I even use the DPS tools to embed a vimeo video to my A4 PDF at all? Is there a different way to embed the vimeo link? (I don't want to upload my video as an swf file on a server and link to it for several reasons, but if there is no other solution I will go for that.)
    Please help!
    Johnny

    I am triing to create an interactive A4 PDF document. Which I then wanna send to companies as my job application via email. I want it to be an interactive pdf because there are hyperlinks on the first page and because of the vimeo link but I also want it to be A4 because it is the formal regulation for a job application in my country.

  • Code to embed my video in other sites?

    Hello folks!
    I will be putting video on my website using iWeb. Simple enough (I hope!)
    However, I need to be able to provide code to my customers so that they can embed the video into their own website... the same way that YouTube allows you to do that. Is it possible to do that kind of thing with iWeb?
    Thanks!
    Vixter

    I've asked this question previously, and got no responses. I'll ask it again, though my choice of software has changed. I'll be putting video online (this time using Flash video and Dreamweaver). I've seen on YouTube that it's possible to provide someone with a piece of code that allows them to put a video on their site without chewing up their own bandwith. Somehow, it runs directly from YouTube's site, but appears to be on that person's site (for example, it might appear to be sitting on a person's blog, but behind the scenes it's actually running off of YouTube's site). I don't understand the mechanics of this, but am wondering if this can be done by anyone (i.e. me!), or does it require considerable resources.
    For example, if I have a site with Flash video on it, can I give someone a piece of code that will enable them to run the video directly from my site (though, it will look like it's actually on their site)? Or, am I only able to provide them with a link to my site (in which case, visitors to their site must leave and come to my site to see the video)? Clear as mud?
    Sorry about the long-winded question. Thanks for any advice you can offer! It's very much appreciated.

  • Embed Vimeo Video

    I have followed the directions to embed a Vimeo file but it's not 'showing' on the page.  I am using the following parameters on Viemo.   Size is 500x341.   Other options are OFF (Auto Play, Loop, Show Text and Show Description).  If I do check the Show Description, the description shows on the page but nothing else.   Is there an issue with Vimeo?  All seems to work fine with YouTube.

    I have gone to one of the videos on my Vimeo page and selected Share.  I have no options selected.  Here's the code:
    <iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/44992941?title=0" width="500" height="341" frameborder="0" webkitAllowFullScreen mozallowfullscreen allowFullScreen></iframe>
    When it's applied, I get this:
    I'm sure from the tutorials that I should see something more.  And, when I Preview the page the purple-ish box disappears altogether.

  • Resizing flash video within flash site

    http://marketing.interactmag.com/3/interactmag-Features/#2
    How can the pixelation in the video on this page be stopped? I'm assuming that this is a resizing issue. But if you are creating pristine video and it gets pixelated like this, what's the point?

    Text, when added in a video editing program, are usually give a font size... meaning they will look best when displayed at that particular size... 24pt... 60 pt... whatever.
    One option that will sometimes provide better quality is to create the text in a .png (with transparent background) file in PhotoShop and then convert the text to a "shape". Main menu, Layer, Type, Convert to shape.
    Then import that graphic into your video editing program... it will scale better than set font size text.
    900kbps for a 640x360 video would provide only average quality at best. Then the quality would degrade at any scaling up because as you scale up, to maintain the same quality, you would also need to increase the video bitrate.
    For review:
    Video bit rate
    One of the principle of goal setting is to "Begin with the end in mind". In this case it'll be very hard to give good recommendations because the end is not defined. So I'll just make a few assumptions and you can correct me as needed.
    First, I'll assume that since you are converting to Flash, you want to deliver this video over the Internet. If that's true, then we'll have to make some assumptions on the Internet connection download speeds of your potential viewers. Let's just say that most have at least a 1.5Mb connection or faster.
    OK, that would mean that a video bitrate of half that should usually provide a video download that is not interupped by buffering (most of the time anyway). So assuming a video bitrate of 750kbps, what would the optimum display dimensions be?
    Before we decide, here's a little info about bitrate. For highest quality playback, the video bitrate is tied directly to the display dimensions. That is, the larger the display, the more incoming data is required to properly display the video. Think of bitrate in terms of a can of paint. If you have 1 quart of paint, you might be able to do a very nice job on a 32 X 24 foot area. But if you try to stretch that same amount of paint out over a 64 X 48 foot area, the coverage will not be nearly as good and you get poor results.
    In the same way, a video displayed at 640 X 480 pixels will require 4 times the bitrate as a video displayed at 320 X 240 pixels to produce the same quality. So for example a video with a bitrate of 100kbps, displayed at 160 X 120 will produce the same quality results as a video with a bitrate of 1600kbps if displayed at 640 X 480.
    So to boil it all down, video bitrates of 750kbps, even up to 1000kbps can usually get delivered of the Internet on most high speed connections. Higher bit rates may work for really fast connections but will cause problems for viewers with slower connections. Video display size has a direct bearing on the final quality. In the 750 to 1000kbps range, display size should be kept around 450 or 500 width max (and whatever height the aspect ratio calls for). Yes it can be displayed larger, but the quality will suffer.
    Sound like your audio settings are fine, especially for Internet delivery.
    As for framerate, maintain the original raw video framerate for best results. So if the video was shot at 24fps, leave it.
    As for video converters, do you have the Flash 8 Video Converter? It works just fine for video to be delivered over the Internet. Remember, you are taking a Cadillac version of video (h.264 HD) and stuffing it into a Chevy body to get it to work over the Internet.

  • Shadowbox in Flash site

    Hello to all,
    This post is in regards to a way to view online content
    (video, pictures, docs, site, etc) that is called Shadowbox. If
    you're not familiar with it, here you go:
    http://www.mjijackson.com/shadowbox/
    I am a wedding videographer and I am trying to have my sample
    videos on my site in Shadowbox (encoded as .flv). My current
    situation is that I hired someone to build my site (I am a video
    producer and I have no knowledge of website design, coding, or
    anything else. So, I bought this application called DV Kitchen (
    http://www.dvcreators.net/dv-kitchen/)
    and encoded my files to flv and uploaded them to my ftp server and
    gave my guy the html code to simply copy and paste into my site. DV
    Kitchen is an program that encodes my Final Cut Pro videos to .flv,
    then uploads the files to my ftp site, and also give me html code
    to embed the video into my site. I didn't know that Flash didn't
    like html code, if I did I would have told the guy to just use
    Dreamweaver.
    I thought that this would be simple, since I was able to get
    this to work on my wordpress blog very easily. But my web designer
    designed my site in Flash and is still trying to figure out all the
    technical aspects of it. He said that he did this so that I could
    use the font that I liked (Alexa) and to have a little animation as
    the home page opens. Anyway, this is what he has gotten to:
    http://www.reelmemories.ws/ourfilms.htm
    Just click on the buttons to the left to play each video.
    Here are the problems that we are having:
    -The first thing that I notice and don't like is that the
    five videos are not connected to each other. You can't scroll back
    and forth from each video to the next.
    -The second, is that I have one video that is 4x3, but the
    Shadowbox is still 16x9 with the 4x3 video in the middle. So there
    are black bars on the left and right side of the frame.
    -Third is that when you click on each button, the background
    image and buttons (that were created in flash) disappear instead of
    just going dim.
    -And lastly, I'm not sure if this is happening only on my
    end, but when you click on each button, the Shadowbox animation
    creates something that my mac and pc screens flicker very slightly.
    Basically, the animation doesn't look very clean.
    Here are the steps that my guy did to achieve what he has so
    far:
    In the Flash project
    -Right click on each button
    -Go to Actions
    -Wrote this code in the box to the right:
    on (release) {getURL("javascriptpenShadowbox('
    http://reelmemories.ws/beau/dv_kitchen_videos/rm-jonmelwright-trailer-h264-720x480-16x9-01 -1.flv',
    'flv', 'Jon and Mel Trailer');");
    Now again, I don't really know what this means. But, I have
    had full success putting my videos on my Wordpress blog.
    http://www.reelmemories.ws/blog/
    Of course, I didn't use any of the DV Kitchen's code for
    this, I just added the Shadowbox JS plugin, and used this code for
    my links:
    <a title="Tanya +Charles Highlight"
    rel="shadowbox[album];height=288;width=512" href="
    http://www.reelmemories.ws/beau/dv_kitchen_videos/rm-tanyacharlesstrom-h264-122908.flv">Ta nya
    +Charles Highlight</a>
    And it worked great. Everything just like on the DV Kitchen
    site.
    I think that's it. I apologize for the novel that you just
    read, but if anybody out there has any suggestions for me I would
    be so thankful. I downloaded the trial version of Flash CS4, and I
    think I can get the trial for Dreamweaver as well if needed. But of
    course I only have 28 days remaining.
    Thanks again,
    -Beau-

    While it doesn't appear to be a standard feature of the API,
    it looks like it would be possible to adapt the code to allow for a
    progression of movies, either in the Javascript of ShadowBox, or by
    using an .swf to house the .flv files.
    All of the .flv files are set to open to the same size: 512
    by 288. This can also be fixed by using unique player sizes for
    each .flv.
    Loosing the image of the Flash page may be a function of the
    way that the overlay works. It probably looks at the html only, not
    the flash file that's embedded in the html.
    I didn't see any flicker.

  • Is it possible to embedd other Non YouTube videos on iWeb sites?

    You know how there's a YouTube Widget that lets you easily embed YouTube videos on iWeb sites? I imagine this Widget doesn't work for none YouTube videos (e.g. MetCafe), so how do we embed those on our web site pages?

    Use an HTML Snippet and an iFrame code.....

    There are two versions of the same movie on this test page. One uses the Vimeo code and the other uses an iFrame code with the URL to the Video.

  • Having Problems Embedding Vimeo Video

    Hello I'm having problems embedding an vimeo video onto my website.
    I have used this same method for the last two year but for some reason the last few days it won't let me do it.
    which has resulted with me reinstalling Dreamweaver twice resetting the preferences.
    the problem started originally the program wound not  link to animated Gif files so i reinstalled the program after a lot of messing around.
    this seems to do the trick but as a result the program won't embed vimeo video.
    I've been going the standard way about it.
    Draw an Ap Div tag clink inside got to code page and paste the embedding code into the place where the cursor is.
    which it looks ok in the design view then in live view the video does not appear. its same with safari and with Crome the div tag appears but no video in the tag and a message saying the file directory found not be found.
    i would be really grateful if someone could help me out with this.
    its totally baffled me and all the online help is very poor for this problem.

    Yeah mytaxsite i think thats a good idea im a little new to this as you probley can tell.

  • How do I embed YouTube or Vimeo video in an apple mail message

    Is there an easy  way to embed YouTube or Vimeo video in an apple mail message?
    I've tried using command+i (same with share feature) on a YouTube page ... looks great except I get missing plugin error on video.
    I'm up to date on Flash plugin, running Safari 6, OS X 10.8. No old Flash files in the internet library.
    Any help is appreciated!

    There's an HTML validator built in to the editor and it will, by default, throw out all but the simplest HTML tags.
    The Apple document, Mac OS  X Server, Wiki Server Administration V 10.6 explains all the gruesome details. But here's the solution that I use:
    Change to the Wiki Server's directory by using
    cd /Library/Application\ Support/Apple/WikiServer
    If it doesn't exist, create a file called whitelist.plist:
    sudo touch whitelist.plist
    The file will be owned by root and all members of the _teamserver group. The latter is required for the Wiki service to have access.
    Then edit the file with any appropriate editor -- I like vi:
    sudo vi whitelist.plist
    The file needs to have very specific formatting. This one should get your YouTube embedded HTML working:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
    <key>protocols</key>
    <array>
    <string>scp</string>
    </array>
    <key>styles</key>
    <array>
    <string>font-size</string>
    </array>
    <key>tags</key>
    <dict>
    <key>object</key>
    <array>
    <string>width</string>
    <string>height</string>
    </array>
    <key>param</key>
    <array>
    <string>name</string>
    <string>value</string>
    </array>
    <key>embed</key>
    <array>
    <string>src</string>
    <string>type</string>
    <string>width</string>
    <string>height</string>
    </array>
    <key>script</key>
    <array>
    <string></string>
    </array>
    <key>hr</key>
    <array>
    <string></string>
    </array>
    </dict>
    </dict>
    </plist>
    After making changes or additions, save and close the whitelist.plist file then restart the Web service using the Server Admin application.
    If you aren't at all familiar with vi, then you may want to instead create a text file on your desktop, put the content into it, then move it to the right location and change its ownership and permissions.
    Hope this helps.
