Embed wordpress in iWeb

I would like to embed a Wordpress blog in my iWeb site.  I use a web hosting service and have an FTP program which I use from time to time to update sitemap files, etc.

you can add wordpress to your iweb page using html snippet and have no length limitation as with ot's example.
my example of dynamic adjustable length html snippet:

go ahead add a long comment and the page will adjust to fit it.

  • Embed iCal into iWeb through HTML snippet after Lion OSX update

    How do I embed my published iCal calendar into iWeb through an HTML snippet AFTER the Lion OSX update last month? I use iWeb to create my classroom website but it no longer has my interactive calendar for my students. Help!

    I am curious about this too, does anyone know how to embed a Lion iCal Calendar into iWeb?
    I found an old walkthrough of how to do it, but on the published site it just opens ical and offers a subscription, you cannot actually see the calendar on the web page it is embedded on.
    Thanks!

  • Embed video in iWeb?

    I would like to embed an iMovie video (.dv file) in an iWeb site I'm working on. The kicker is, the server space for the website isn't large enough to store the video. I've uploaded it to an alternative, free site. Is there any way to embed this video in an iWeb website?
    Oh, and do I need to change the file type for that video? I haven't messed with it in about a year and seem to remember saving it as anything other than .dv was a pain.
    Thanks in advance.

    Ok, sounds reasonable. The reason it's currently in a .dv file is that I can't seem to find any way to export (or save, even) from iMovie. There doesn't appear to be a "save" or "save as" under the File drop down. There are a bunch of options under the "share" drop down, but they are all gray so I can't select any of them. The file doesn't appear to be locked or have any other access protection on it...Is there something I'm missing here?

  • Embed video into iweb page

    Is there any way to embed video into my iWeb page without making an external HTML file?
    Thanks.

    QuickTime Media Link format. One of mine as an example:
    http://homepage.mac.com/kkirkster/.Public/wwdc_keynote.qtl
    They are text based files that download when clicked so there is no need for any addition html code to open a new page.

  • How to embed new youtube embed code in iweb

    For some reason neither the embed code pasted into an HTML snippet nor the youtube URL pasted into a youtube widget display the youtube video when I publish the site.
    The youtube video shows up in iweb the moment I paste either the URL into the youtube widget or the embed code into the html widget, but when I publish it, the youtube video doesn't display.
    I thought it might have to do with the old vs. new embed code on youtube - the new makes it work as html 5 as well, but I've tried both the new and old code and can't get it to show up.
    The last bit of info is that I have noticed that when i publish the changes, the snippet folder in the folder that gets published isn't updating - there doesn't seem to be anything in that folder that gets changed when i add, delete or edit any widget.

    The YouTube widget no longer works as it was dependent on software on the MMe servers which are no more.
    How are you publishing the site?  Are you publishing to a folder on your hard drive and then uploading to the server with a 3rd party FTP client?  Does the video play when you access the locally published site with your browser? If so then the problem lies with the uploading of the files.
    If you're using iWeb 2 (08) be aware that there are compatibiliy problems with it and Mt. Lion when it comes  to publishing.  So check the site locally to make sure all is well before uploading.
    This test page has two occurrances of a YouTube video, one with the old code, one with the old code and HTTPS and with HTTPS only: Page 2

  • Wordpress or iWeb?

    Hello All
    I am about to create a webpage to add some restaurant reviews and other food related stuff. All I want is to uload the text, some images and have space for people to comment. I have done personal webpages before on iWeb, but a friend recently introduced me to iWeb. Which route should I take?
    Thanks
    J

    You may be better to go with Wordpress now that iWeb is no longer being developed, supported or sold by Apple.
    Commenting can be enabled on an iWeb site published to a server other than MobileMe but its not so straight forward...

  • Iweb created, wordpress embedded.

    Hello,
    My ideal situation would be to create a website in iweb, have a domain, host and website with Wordpress (software) pages, and transfer or embed my iweb website to wordpress(.org). Is this possible?
    I'm not talking about blogs (I know Wordpress is for blogs), I'm talking about website pages, layout and creation.
    Obviously I'm trying to use the best part of both iweb and wordpress. iweb is extremely easy to use to create websites (especially coming from DVD Studio/Motion) and I love Wordpress' free plugins, navigation and setup.
    If what I'm asking is not possible, what would be a similar solution? Dreamweaver and Wordpress? iWeb straight to the server (and alternate Wordpress-type plugins)? Another program?
    I'm trying to create a few websites, but when it comes to designing I enjoy the free range of experimenting visually with text, color, layouts, etc that iweb and Dreamweaver offers over trial and error of html, css, and php.
    THANK YOU in advance!

    I am not sure if you can do this and it all depends how much you are able to alter the WordPress html code or insert code into WordPress?
    Are you using WordPress.com or .org? .org is more customisable than the .com version, but if you were to try and embed an iWeb site into WordPress, it would mean adding iFrame code to the html and I am not so sure that WordPress will allow you to do this in the same way that iWeb will - with iWeb it is simple - you just enter the iFrame code into an html widget and away you go.
    If you know how to alter the code and add it in WordPress then great, but if not, I would do it the other way around and embed your WordPress blog into an iWeb site - by far the simpler option.

    In support of Ethmoid's suggestion of moving to a new host, etc. if you want to keep your blog's comments intact you can use Rage Software's iWeb to WordPress application to covnert your existing iWeb blog to an WordPress blog which can be hosted on your new server along with the rest of your iWeb website: Convert Your iWeb Blog to a WordPress Blog | iWeb to WordPress for Mac OS X
    Too bad. MM is gone. I moved from MM to GoDaddy.  NowWordpress no long offers iWeb to wp.  Is there another way to allow comments on my iWeb blogs?

    There's this: Migrate iWeb blog to WordPress - Mac OS X Hints. And MobileMe is not gone yet so you can try using the free scrpt provided to migrate youir blog to WordPress.
    If you don't have a lot of comments to lose you can continue with an iWeb blog and add one of the commenting sites to you blog.  Some are:

  • I want to create a form in IWeb can you help?

    I need to create a form page in Iweb on my website for visitors to complete and submit back to me.
    A Club membership application form.
    Anyone able to help??

    There are online form sites that you can use like JotForm, Wufoo, etc.  Jotform creates some very nice looking forms which you can embed into an iWeb page.  The free package gives you 100 submissions per month and 10 SSL secure submissions per month.  Over those numbers you will need to pay a monthly fee.
    Here are examples of Jotform and Wufoo forms: Embedding Forms
    Or you can create your own Form Action form which uses the visitor's own email client to send the information. This is not best integrated method to obtain the information.   An example of this type of form is also on the page linked to above.

  • IWeb won't seem to accept an HTML Snippet

    I've just downloaded the following Snippet from 6sense.com.
    <applet archive="snowshow.jar" code="snowshow.class" width=830 height=999>
    <param name="density" value="low">
    <param name="id_key" value="6s890667530995822119">
    <param name="maximages" value="1">
    <param name="image1" value="B.jpg">
    </applet>
    As a non-html-ie I have no knowledge as to whether the code in this snippet is OK or not. It is supposed to produce a snowfalling effect over a graphic.
    I've dragged the HTML Widget to my page in iWeb (V3.0.1), and copy-pasted the snippet into the window. I presume that after so doing I should click "Apply"... I do so and then all I get is a beach ball... on and on... and when I go to Force Quit, iWeb is tagged as Not Responding.
    Is there something wrong with the snippet code, or is there something else I should be doing to get it to work?

    The code you use assumes that the jar file and jpg image are in the same folder as the widget markup file. That's not possible, since iWeb has to publish the webpage and it companion folder first. Plus you run the risk iWeb wipes the jar file and image when you change the pagename.
    So you jar file and jpg images have to be somewhere else on the server.
    Locate them on the server and determine the path. Then use the ../../ the way I described.
    Of course you can put the files in the folder after publishing.
    Personally I would create a separate Basic HTML page with the code and embed it in iWeb with the HTL MSnippet.
    I found that pasting the Java code in a HTML Snippet directly does no go well with iWeb.
    [Read this article|http://www.wyodor.net/iWebBlogTest/Wyodor1/archives/2009/05/entry35.html] how I do that.
    Do not be misled by the title. Instead of Movie, read Java.
