Embedded asset will not load from aliased domain

I have a flash movie with an embedded flash movie that uses the get_URL to load an externally linked movie. The file works fine if coming from the root domain, but we also have three different domains virtually hosted to the same web root and the embedded movies will not load if accessed from those other domains. Current external URLs are absolute and not relative, still no loading:
www.topconpa.com
www.topconprecisionag.com
please advise
Steve

Ok, since I am stuck I did a complete DE-install/Re-Install of all Flash Players and Flash Builder. Clean slate. Thats not it.
As I have multiple web sites and bounce between Mac and Windows, it can be challenging to keep track. I had been using the Firefox FireFTP Addon to move files around as it was convenient. This was the problem.  Simple answer is FireFTP was doing something wacky (?)  to the SWF files when going from Windows to the Linux hosts.  Using the builtin Microsoft Network Places FTP client or the excellent Transmit 4 on Mac OS X both resulted in working SWF files from my web sites.
Final Answer: the FTP client messed up the SWF file. Gotta watch that!

    Two points, Steve:
    1. When I tried to set the maximum virtual memory to 6110 an error message displayed from Windows and told me that I can't set the maximum virtual memory to more than 4096. I set it to 4090 and it worked and I got nothing wrong during the installation process.

I just get a blank gray screen inside my Firefox browser.
Do you have any idea what to do to solve the problem?

My Itunes will not load from my external harddrive.  worked fine a few days ago.

I have been trying, without success, to watch a movie that I rented from iTunes. It will not load, loads after waiting for  ages and then plays 2-3 minutes and stops. I have a 50MB connection so download speed is not a factor.
How do I contyact iTunes and request a refund?

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

  • W540 will not load from SSD, need help

I just bought a W540 (windows 8) and extra SSD to replace the original HD in W540.
I have created a recovery image in windows 8 to my 16G USB flash and disabled intel rapid storage.
I put the new 512G Crucial MX100 SSD into the machine, and use USB flash drive to reset the laptop.
After the reset process was finished, I took out the USB flash drive, but the laptop will not load windows from my SSD, and the laptop did detect my SSD.
I am wondering if I did something wrong? I took out the SSD and put it in to my desktop, and I did see files were written into the SSD, but W540 will not load it,

The reason for your machine not booting might be found here:
Windows 8 Recovery Fails to Install on New Blank SSD
It does not give any info if the Recovery Media actually formats the drive in GPT mode, which is required for UEFI boot, in which case you might have to re-format your new SSD and re-install it with your recovery USB, which you're probably required to boot in UEFI mode as well. I have only installed Windows 8 in UEFI mode with an original retail DVD, and to achieve that I had to boot the DVD in UEFI mode.

  • Images are not loading from initial domain when using a cdn

Hello, i have a wordpress website on which i set the w3 total cache plugin with a cdn, the cdn is MaxCDN and is configured to not serve images but only css & js & font files. Because i configured the cdn not to serve images, the images in css files have the src as absolute path, path which point to original website domain, something like this: background-image: url("http://www.originaldomain.com/images/back.jpg");, the css file is served from the cdn like this: http://cdn.originaldomain.com/css/style.css . So the problem is that firefox refuse to load the images referred in style.css file, images which probably appear to be in another domain. If i try to load the images directly in browser, using address bar, they are loading ok, but on loading from css file i got a http error 500 (acording to firebug). The same website is loading ok in other browsers: ie7/ie8/ie9, opera, safari and chrome. Can anyone help me to solve the issue?

  • Laptop will not load from restarting screen. Help!!

    Hi,
So I had this problem for a while that every time I used my Macbook Air a message popped up saying 'Start up disk full make space by deleting files' or something like that, so I deleted lots of files that I didn't need. (However my storage is still almost full with 'Other'?)
So after I had done this my computer froze on some work I was doing so I pressed the power button in order to restart. Since then (yesterday) I haven't been able to access my desktop and files as the screen will only load the start up screen, with the gray apple and spinning wheel, but not progress past this point. I have tried performing the Hardware test and also pressing 'cmd' + 'R' whilst restarting, but nothing seems to work.
    Please help!

Take each of these steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved.
    Step 1
The first step in dealing with a startup failure is to secure the data. If you want to preserve the contents of the startup drive, and you don't already have at least one current backup, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data that has changed since the last backup, you can skip this step.
There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to start. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
         a. Start up from the Recovery partition, or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) When the OS X Utilities screen appears, launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in this support article, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.”
    b. If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, start the non-working Mac in target disk mode. Use the working Mac to copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
    c. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data.
    Step 2
If the startup process stops at a blank gray screen with no Apple logo or spinning "daisy wheel," then the startup volume may be full. If you had previously seen warnings of low disk space, this is almost certainly the case. You might be able to start up in safe mode even though you can't start up normally. Otherwise, start up from an external drive, or else use either of the techniques in Steps 1b and 1c to mount the internal drive and delete some files. According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation.
    Step 3
Sometimes a startup failure can be resolved by resetting the NVRAM.
    Step 4
If you use a wireless keyboard, trackpad, or mouse, replace or recharge the batteries. The battery level shown in the Bluetooth menu item may not be accurate.
    Step 5
If there's a built-in optical drive, a disc may be stuck in it. Follow these instructions to eject it.
    Step 6
Press and hold the power button until the power shuts off. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed to start up, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Use a different keyboard and/or mouse, if those devices are wired. If you can start up now, one of the devices you disconnected, or a combination of them, is causing the problem. Finding out which one is a process of elimination.
    Step 7
If you've started from an external storage device, make sure that the internal startup volume is selected in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences.
Start up in safe mode. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know the login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
When you start up in safe mode, it's normal to see a dark gray progress bar on a light gray background. If the progress bar gets stuck for more than a few minutes, or if the system shuts down automatically while the progress bar is displayed, the startup volume is corrupt and the drive is probably malfunctioning. In that case, go to Step 10. If you ever have another problem with the drive, replace it immediately.
If you can start and log in in safe mode, empty the Trash, and then open the Finder Info window on the startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) Check that you have at least 9 GB of available space, as shown in the window. If you don't, copy as many files as necessary to another volume (not another folder on the same volume) and delete the originals. Deletion isn't complete until you empty the Trash again. Do this until the available space is more than 9 GB. Then restart as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)
If the startup process hangs again, the problem is likely caused by a third-party system modification that you installed. Post for further instructions.
    Step 8
Launch Disk Utility in Recovery mode (see Step 1.) Select the startup volume, then run Repair Disk. If any problems are found, repeat until clear. If Disk Utility reports that the volume can't be repaired, the drive has malfunctioned and should be replaced. You might choose to tolerate one such malfunction in the life of the drive. In that case, erase the volume and restore from a backup. If the same thing ever happens again, replace the drive immediately.
This is one of the rare situations in which you should also run Repair Permissions, ignoring the false warnings it may produce. Look for the line "Permissions repair complete" at the end of the output. Then restart as usual.
    Step 9
Reinstall the OS. If the Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade.
    Step 10
Do as in Step 9, but this time erase the startup volume in Disk Utility before installing. The system should automatically restart into the Setup Assistant. Follow the prompts to transfer the data from a Time Machine or other backup.
    Step 11
This step applies only to models that have a logic-board ("PRAM") battery: all Mac Pro's and some others (not current models.) Both desktop and portable Macs used to have such a battery. The logic-board battery, if there is one, is separate from the main battery of a portable. A dead logic-board battery can cause a startup failure. Typically the failure will be preceded by loss of the settings for the startup disk and system clock. See the user manual for replacement instructions. You may have to take the machine to a service provider to have the battery replaced.
    Step 12
If you get this far, you're probably dealing with a hardware fault. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.

  • Bookmarks will not load from dropdown menu

    Hi,
i copied a lot of bookmarks over from safari to add to my existing bookmarks in firefox. The import seemed to work fine at first but soon i found that the drop down menus for my bookmarks toolbar would not load. Sometimes some and not all will load, sometimes not at all. If I open a sidebar, I can see that all my bookmarks still exist. Some have picture icons next to them, some have a blank white page icon. The ones with the blank page icons don't load from the sidebar.
I'm not the most technical and it took me hours to arrange my bookmarks. Any fix for this without having to start from scratch would be really helpful.
    thanks!
    Henry.

You might try Safe Mode (It will take more time to startup in Safe Mode because it runs a directory check.)
If your Shutdown functions correctly that way, go to System Preferences >> Accounts >> Login Items, and remove them. Boot normally and test. If not go to ~(yourHome)/Library/Contextual Menu Items and move whatever is there to the desktop. Then do the same with /Library/Contextual Menu Items. Lastly, try moving ~(yourHome)/Library/Fonts to your desktop and restarting.
Log out/in or restart, if that sorts it start putting items back one at a time until you find the culprit.
EDIT: Also, if you can launch Activity Monitor in your Utilities folder and see if you can find the process that is still running.

Make sure your external editor settings link to the application in support files (hidden on Lion) rather than a shortcut.

  • Safari will not load from favourites or from links

    Hi all.
I have a eMac G4 using Leopard 10.5.6. (2 Gig RAM) I can not remember if this problem started after the last OS update or if it was here before as it has been some time since I last used the Mac .
    My problem:
I open up Safari and click onto my "Favourites" at the top of the page and select an entry. The page loads up without fault. I then again click on the favourites tab and select another favourite wanting to go elsewhere.
This time the address is displayed and the blue progress bar moves to only just cover "http" and then freezes.
This very same problem occurs when I click from within any the current page, as was the case when I tried to go to another page from within this forum.
At the moment the only way I am able to bring up any new pages is to close Safari and then "Force Quit" then reload the browser and go from there..
This problem also presents it's self from the browser when some links are clicked and then I try for another page from the newly loaded page.
Needless to say it is driving me crazy and forcing me back to M$ I.E 8
Can someone please help me with this problem?
    Regards

Could be from a variety of causes, but the following should cure it!
The following usually works on both Tiger and Leopard:
(First, if yours is an Intel Mac, check that Safari is not running in Rosetta, which is enough to slow it to a crawl.)
Adding DNS codes to your Network Settings, should gives good results in terms of speed-up:
Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu. Click on TCP/IP and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' enter the following two numbers:
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
(An explanation of why that is both safe and a good idea can be read here: http://www.labnol.org/internet/tools/opendsn-what-is-opendns-why-required-2/2587 /
Open DNS also provides an anti-phishing feature: http://www.opendns.com/solutions/homenetwork/anti-phishing/ )
Whilst in System Preferences/Network you should also turn off 'IPv6' in your preference pane, as otherwise you may not get the full speed benefit (the DNS resolver will default to making SRV queries). If you want to know what IPv6 is:
This is Apple's guidance on iPv6:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/8708.html
Click on Apply Now and close the window.
    Restart Safari, and repair permissions.
If that didn't do it, then try this as well:
Empty Safari's cache (from the Safari menu), then close Safari.
Go to Home/Library/Safari and delete the following files:
    form values
    download.plist
Then go to Home/Library/Preferences and delete
    com.apple.Safari.plist
    Repair permissions (in Disk Utility).
Start up Safari again, and things should have improved.

  • My Macbook Pro will not load from Snowleopard Install disc

I have been having some issues with the speed of my mac, and yesterday decided to reset from the install disc.
Every time I try to load my mac from the disc it shows signs that it's reading the disc, but then ejects it and goes straight to the screen with the apple logo and cogwheel, where it gets stuck.
I cannot get past the cogwheel screen, i have reset PRAM and SMB, with no success.
Holding the option key does not help as it doesn't acknowledge the disc, and i have checked the disc, it is scratch free, an it d the drive is clean.
When running hardwear test it shows up 1 error with my harddrive, (the reason i was resetting from install disc in the first place.)
    HELP!

The error is for a sensor, so that should not indicate a problem with the HDD. As for your installer disc the Mid-2009 MBP 13" came with Leopard, not Snow Leopard. You might check what is printed on the disc label just to be sure.
I don't know why the disc won't work. It could be an alignment problem with optical drive or something on the disc's innermost tracks. It can't hurt to get a lint-free cloth and clean the disk with alcohol.
You might try turning off the computer and wait a few minutes then restart it. Put the disc in before you shut it down. Then when you restart the computer press and hold down the "C" key immediately after the chime.

  • My i tunes will not load from my desk top

When I double click on the desk top icon for itunes nothing happens.
    Any ideas?

    Hello jamieg1984,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
    Restoring your iOS device
Connect your device to your computer.
Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes. Select the Summary tab, and click the Restore button.
    Click Restore.
iTunes may prompt you with a software license agreement. If you click Agree, iTunes will download the iOS software file (.ipsw file) before restoring.
After a restore, the iOS device restarts. You should then see "Slide to set up". Follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant.
If needed, restore your device from a previous backup.
    Best of luck,
