Embedded Images moved to the bottom of the page

Images on some pages are all being moved to the bottom of the page when displayed.
i.e. -
H
ello world. blah blah ...20 lines later ...blah.
The image is not in the top left corner of the text, but at the bottom under the text - - - but only on some pages.
See GemAndMineralInfo.com - the home page loads correctly, but the Gemstone page which uses the same basic format has all images moved to the bottom of the page in FireFox.

Looks like a positioning issue caused by floating content.

How to prevent embedded images falling off the page

I have embedded images in a multi-column document. It's great to have the images flow with the text, but sometimes they flow over the edge of the page. Is there a way to set the keep options so that embedded images stay on the page?

Again, I'm going to ask what behavior you expect for this? Where would you have that image move? If what you want is for the entire paragraph to go to the next page, you are using the correct mothod by adding a keep option that will keep sufficient lines together to match the image height. Adding the keep within the top and bottom boundaries of the column (rather than the page) for inline anchored images might be useful if it behaved like a keep option forcing the containing paragraph to the next page, but not so good if it pushed the position of the image up or down relative to its anchor point.
What you are learning is that anchored objects are extremely useful, but that they are problematic when they fall at the bottom of a column. You almost always need to som manual editing to accomodate the odd case.

Footer items moving up the page.

Hi i have just upgraded to v3 build 645 and now items in my footer are moving up the page. Here is the site http://sographicssite.businesscatalyst.com/index.html its the black tabs on the sides. This is what it should look like http://www.sographics.co.uk/ I have tried it grouped and ungrouped.

We are aware of one issue where, if Muse has to recreate an image in the footer on the master page, it will get pushed up the page. We are actively working on fixing the issue, but in the meantime there are a few things you can do. When Muse has to change the image, either because of a large size difference, an effect (shadow, glow, or bevel), rounded corners, or rotating the item, we will render the image with these effects to ensure proper behavior across different browsers. You can remove these properties on the image to fix the issue, and you can add them using an editor outside of Muse if the effect is something in particular you are going for.
Sorry for the inconvience. As I said, we are working on getting a fix for this issue.

Placing an image exactly into the page size everrytime, can it be done?

can I place an image exactly into the page size everrytime so it copies the exact measurements?

Depends on the version of InDesign. Starting in CS3, if memory serves, you can put a frame on the master page and pre-set the fitting parameters, or assign an object style that includes the fitting options.
Anything you place into such a frame would honor the fitting options you set.

Iweb background stretches when objects are moved around the page

Hello, I am creating a simple site in iWeb and I cannot get my background image to be consistent through all of my pages. What I mean is the position of the image varies slightly through the pages. In my home page (and all of my other pages)the background is set to "Image Fill" and "Scale to Fill", and the page sizes are all the same at 700px wide by 480px high. I have the nav bar and page heading/title positioned exactly the same on all pages also.
I notice that when I move around text boxes that are in a page the background stretches or shrinks depending on the position of the box, and am assuming that this has something to do with it, but like I said before, the navigation and header "text boxes" are all positioned the same. Is there any way to turn off this scaling of the background when moving objects around the page? Or does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this image and make it consistent through all of my pages? Thanks for your help.

When you set as image as a page background and set it to scale for fill, when you move text downward, extending the length of the page, the image size will change no matter what fill option is used, fit, fill stretch or tile. Using the original size will keep the image exactly the same in all instances but if the page is lengthened beyond the images height you'll get the browser's background to show in the page. But, if you size the image you're using to be taller than any of your pages it will be fixed in all your pages. NOTE: You can use this method only on White and Black blog layouts. However it the blog length gets long it will extend beyond the image height. So set up the image and blog accordingly.
Try using the image for the browser background and set the page background to none. That will keep the image the same for all layouts. If you have a blog you can change the theme to White or Black, depending on the font color needed, and can use the image for browser background method. The image will need to be large enough to fill the browser's window and will be locked at the left edge. That is if the browser window is widened the image will not be centered but set at the left side of the window.

Doesn't work in Google Chrome either.
Looks that the page has a lot of protection measures (context menu is disabled) and DIVs that overlay each other, so it is possible that the print routine only sees an empty DIV and not the image or the real page.<br />
That big image consists of two parts as you can see via Tools > Page Info > Media and the inspector.

How do I add an image already in the page to a slide show ?

It seems so simple: I have a couple of images already spread out on a page, but later on I decide to collect them into a simple slide show after all. So I drag this Slide Show widget into place, and now ? Yeah, I know, I should use the button to select new images into it, or drag them as files from my Finder onto the Slide Show. But I already have them sitting on my page ! Isn't there a quicker and better way ? I tried copying and pasting in a lot of ways, and I can change the existing (three) sample images, but it's not even so easy to do it. Anyone ?
BTW, I know I could use Compositions, and at least they offer a simple + button to add extra instances to the widget. But I'd like to these plain vanilla Slide Show widgets in this situation.

1024 x 768 or 1024 x 748 for images to fill the page?

As I understand, there is 20px for wifi/time/battery bar...
Is that 20px always used up? Or is it available for image depending whether the user has his or her hand there?
I'm trying to figure out what size to make my images so they fill the page.

it is always there in ibooks in landscape, when in portrait it is on the side (which is now the top) so the live area is 1004 x 768
I think all Apple apps have this bar and it is also there when on the home page (it is slightly transparent)
Not to be confused with the black title bar that pops up when going to the library, this is different.
I would go ahead and do 1024 x 768, incase you use the image full size in both portrait and landscape
Sort of depends on the layout of the book.
If you know you are not going to use the image full screen in portrait, then you could use the 1024 x 748
having the extra 20 px isn't a problem, it will just get cropped off.

Why do images go behind the page?

This keeps happening. I'll drag an image over to the next page and it will go behind the page, so I can't see it.
I have it sent to the front. Why does that happen?

Check if the image is inline, etc...
if you select None, you should be able to move the image wherever you need it

I have "Load Images Automatically" disabled. How can I load images for ONLY the page I am currently viewing?

I have intentionally disabled "Load Images Automatically" so that it is easier to view my desktop remotely via VNC or Remote Desktop. Animations and other graphics kill the performance of these remote viewing apps. However, when I reach a desired web page (the one I really intend to read in full), I want to load all the images ***for that page only***.

I don't think Firefox has that features. It views loading images as a permissions issues toggled on a site-by-site basis rather than a performance issue toggled on a page-by-page basis.
Maybe an add-on would give you a better balance of features? These two popped up in a quick search:

When viewing some websites my desktop background image shows as the page background...why...and how do I fix this?

It seems that the current version of Firefox does not understand how to process style sheets. Instead of the stylesheet background color or image, I am now seeing my PC's desktop background image. This does not happen with IE or Chrome. When checking the error console, I get "Warning: Unknown property 'zoom'. Declaration dropped. Source File: http://trustserve.net/themes/ModernBlue/templates_cached/EN/global.css Line: 4"
I am not trying to zoom.
Any ideas on how to fix this. I can't use Firefox with these problems and I really liked it prior to these problems.

I thought I had it disabled. I enabled aero and then disabled to be sure, and still have the problem, but that was a very good idea. Thanks.
The problem started shortly after I installed two new programs, a graphics program, and an anti-virus. I just removed both programs and restarted the computer and that seems to have solved the problem. Your idea about Aero gave me the idea that one, or both of these programs changed some of my system settings. I am now going to install them, one at a time, and see if the transparency problem returns. I'll post my findings.

I am trying to set up virtual servers with Netscape Enterprise Server 3.6. Can get home page to display but images linked to the page won't display and links to other pages won't work.

If your home page of the virtual server is displayed then,you have set the virtual server properly.
check the links and source of the images or directories in the HTML source code of the home page.

I cannot tell if I am browsing a webpage securely, there is no "lock image" anywhere on the page.

Hey! Not really having problems, the only issue is I cannot tell when or if I am browsing a website securely or not. I just upgraded to 5.0.1 recently and enjoy it very much. On the older version of FF that I had (I'm not sure what version specifically) an image of a lock would appear when I was browsing on a secured area of a website, for example, when I would access my banking or student financial information. I cannot find that image anywhere so I thought it prudent to ask. Thanks very much.

Why do images bounce around the page?

On one website my images on a page of twelve we'll say, don't stay put or in order. They move and leave big spaces between some and not the others.

Check if the image is inline, etc...

Why won't my images appear on the page?

I tried to upload new pictures but all that shows up is the alternate wording. I don't know what's gone wrong. I've been using Dreamweaver CS5 for over 2 years and this problem is new.

I'd contact my hosting company with that information if it happened to me.
Looks like you don't have the ability to overwrite files with your current credentials.
