Embedded links in Video

Hi all,
is there a way to create clickable hot region in a video going on the web. I know there is a online company doing it: VideoClix. But I would rather do it myself.
Thanks.

Adobe CS4 might have this...check on the Adobe site.

  • Embedding links in video

Is there a way to embed a link in a portion of a video frame as opposed to the entire frame?
Can QuickTime export a video with overlay layers? If so, at what bit depth and how many layers?
    Any help is much appreciated.

Yes. QuickTime .mov files can have up to 99 tracks and each can have its own layer number. Lower numbers are "closer" to the viewer.
So you could have a "frame" that contains many different layers and each could point to different links.
If you're old enough to remember the opening to the Brady Bunch (TV show) they used nine "movies" inside a single frame. Each could be a link to the cast member Web page.
You can also use "transparency" or "blends" and each track can also have a video "mask".

  • How can I send a ThinkLink image with all the embedded links in Thunderword Email?

As you are aware, ThinkLink images have embedded links (word files, images, videos etc.). I am, however, not able to send these images through Thunderword emails. I have tried both Inset Image and Insert HTML but nothing works. Of course, I can understand that ThinkLink is a new concept and most of the email clients don't support it.
    Thanks,

No I am not aware. I have now googled thinklink, joined their site and found that they do not create images. Only Javascript.
So no email client such as Thunderbird, which does not allow javascript, or any person disabling it in their browser for security reasons, will see your interactive images because they are not images they are interactive programs written in Javascript.
Now how to get unsubscribed from these folk, they already tried spamming my whole Google Plusfriends list.

  • Embedded links in text no longer available in Yosemite's Messages?!

Hello! I've been using iChat and Messages for years with my co-workers and I've discovered that in Mac OS 10.10 embedded URL's no longer seem to be possible. I am used to selecting text, hitting [command]-K and pasting in a URL before I send a message, but now my only option is to past in an ugly, raw URL in my message. This is a huge problem when I send a link to a funny video or cat meme picture whose name or descriptor is in the URL, completely ruining the punch line. I have to tell the message's recipient not to read the URL but to simply click on it and trust me, which ruins the joke. How am I supposed to rickroll my friends? I can still embed a link in Mail or even TextEdit. Even in this online forum format I can link in that stupid Rick Astley video.
    Dear Mr. Apple,
Please let me add embedded link to my messages in the Messages app in Mac OS 10.10.
    Love,

    Hi,
From time to time the thinking on this seems to change.
AIM stopped their App and other Clients (at that time this included iChat) from sending hyperlinked text  due to several incidents of malicious code in links.
Only plain text links could be sent.
Some time later, when people seemed to have forgotten about this the ability was added back.
It would seem that the issue is back again.

  • My embeded link is going wacky on moble browsers.

Ok so I entered in a youtube link into a div box last night.  I changed the size of the embeded link a little.  It worked great.  I checked it out on line and it was perfect.  Then I checked it on my ipad and again perfect.  So I went and messed around for a bit more with the site and went to bed.  Today when I woke up and continued working on the site I noticed a problem.  While the youtube embeded link was fine on a standerd pc.  It was all kinds of messed up on the moble browser.  The video link images seem to overlap the video box now.  Not sure what I did wrong.

Thanks for the link.  I took it as I was trying to stuff something to large into a smaller area. That doesnt seem to be the problem though.  Because no matter what I do.  If I make it big or small it always comes back to the tall narrow box.  For example this one I made small. So its small.  But if looked at on  moble it's long and narrow. I dont seem to have control over it.  I would ask if its just not possible to do this at this time.  but I know it is becase I see youtube embeded links all the tme on my ipad.  I'm clearly missing something and im not sure what it is.

  • Embedded Links that can't be deleted.

I have several embedded links of an old image added onto my work, however several of the links could not be deleted and are invisible on the artwork. I can select them by using Go to Link but I cannot move them or delete them only resize it.
How can I get rid of this as I don't want to risk it appearing when coming up for print?
    Thanks

Turn off the preview to see where the images are. (You should see rectangles. You should also find them somewhere in the Layers stack)
Check if anything is locked. (Object > Unlock All.)
Check whether layers are locked, if so unlock them.
Select the images (Links panel, click on link and then Go to Link button) and delete them.

  • PDF links to video footage on DVD ??

I want to make a PDF document which links to several Video clips (or different chapters in one video clip). I can make the links in Acrobat no problem, but I can't make them open a .vob in a VideoTS folder (it opens Toast for some reason). So I figure I need to make individual clips compressed in some other way?
Because my projects usually go straight to DVD after creating menus of varying complexity in DVDSP, my work flow through Compressor has become reliable and un-varied. I have tweaked my favourite settings which work well for me.
But now I have to make something quite different and I'm having trouble getting my head around the enormous variety of settings and choices offered in Compressor.
I believe I can't compress these clips in mpeg-2 and author all this in a conventional DVD because of the above problem (please someone correct me if I am wrong). I think I have to compress the clips into .mov (or the like) and have all this on some sort of CD-ROM (DVD-ROM)?
If so what compression method do I choose?
I've done several experiments with a short clip representing the type of footage I have filmed. H264 gives excellent picture results, but it is jumpy on playback. QuickTime movies look dreadful.
Can someone please point me in the right (or any) direction? Right now I feel I'm going round in circles.
    Cheers...
(I'm using SD DV footage, eventual output compatible to PC users)

I understand the idea to use a PDF linking to video playback, I have done this countless times for clients who want annual reports turned into interactive documents with video, graphics and photography added
As to the type of file format to use to link from the PDF's, this will depent on a number of factors, end user compatability, the overall efficiency of the users computer and your own working practices.
my comments are based with my authoring set up and the clients I supply:
Quicktime - few windows computers have QT installed, if you use this you would need to provide QT player on the disk, the user would need to install manually. H264 looks great but users machine spec has to be good
WMV - I use this when I am asked for video linked to a Powerpoint file or from PDF.s, works well reasonable image quality, I can usually run WMF files up to full screen on my clients machines.
flash - again few computers have this installed, picture quality is not as good as WMV and the image size must be kept small, the user would need to install Flash Player if not already installed
MPEG 1 - the worst image quality but the most compatable of the video formats, any PC using windows 95 and newer will play this file, I never use this as it is so poor, even though I have an expensive real time hardware encoder.
VOB - I use this when there is more video that text for the viewer to watch. VOBs are generated from an individually created DVD using DVDSP, for our users is the best image quality.
Having the icons showing 'blank' for the VOB files is normal.
Toast is launching because there is an association to Toast from the VOB's just like mov files are associated to QT player, just ignore this it wont cgange the outcome in Acrobat. My VOB's are also 'blank' and are linked to DVD Afteredit
I cant giveyou specific advice for a workflow as this is so wide open.
If I was given this job with my resources, I would link the PDF pages to WMF files which I would create in Flip 4 Mac. I would also split the project up into smaller individual files, if the publication had 10 sections I'd make 1 file for each chapter and have a starter or main page so the user can navigate with ease, they dont know they are jumping about to different files.
This is to keep the file size down as PDF's run better with more files but smaller file sizes.
My main client has 60,000 Windows XP users who can not change the set up of the computer, as the IT dept does not want the user adding extra applications or changing the set up in any way. Windows Media Player is already installed on these machines.

    Thanks for looking into this.

Thanks for your support. From your code i got the filename(embedded) with pathname(if the embedded image in that location). If the embedded image not in that location at that time it throws error message. Is it possible to find out the name of the embedded image, if the corresponding image not in that location. Kindly advise me the possiblitities.

  • Embedded links in emails won't open new window or tab in FF.

Running Mac OS X 10.6.6 and FF Version 3.6.12. I'm using Mail Version 4.4 as my email client and when I try and open an embedded link from an email, the link doesn't open a new tab or window. FF recognizes the link, but doesn't respond with a new tab or window. If I copy and paste the link into the browser the links work fine, so I feel like it's a setting or bug that has been changed somewhere somehow. This problem only happens when I try to click directly from the email. I've tried searching the preferences in both Mail and FF, but can't seem to find anything that fixes the problem. This issue started happening two weeks ago when I did the latest Mac OS X security update. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hi everyone, I have Snow Leopard 10.6.8. I have been very very frustrated by this problem. [I could not create new windows, and anything that opens new windows, such as trying to see what Add-ons you have etc would not work]. I read about changing screen alignment to the top... I have one screen so the option does not exist. The above messages would not fix this problem. I searched hard and did find a solution in the end. I read stuff about removing Add-ons until the problem is fixed, but its simply not the case.
First of all open Firefox. next go to options: Help --- 'Restart with Add-ons disabled'. Tick the box for add-ons, restart firefox. Next go to Tools --- Add-ons. Next (In the Add-ons Manager' click on 'Plugins' on the left hand side pane. Look for the small blue writing that says 'Check to see if your plugins are up to date'.
Now notice it should say 'Missing Flash'. "For your safety, Firefox has disabled your outdated version of Flash. Please upgrade to the latest version". I followed this, reinstalled Flash and it now works as it always did, no problems. For people where the above fix didn't work, try this one out. Hope it helps people!
    :o)

  • How to create an embedded link with VBScript that references user website from Active Directory?

I have scoured the web for days and have not been able to quite come up with exactly what I need for this. I have created an Outlook signature deployment using VBScript which sets information in an already formatted Word doc using placeholders. (Ex. [Displayname],
    [Initial], [City])
All of that works as expected, but now marketing would like to have an embedded link reference some of our users personal web pages. So the link would display some kind of standard text like "Click Here". Once clicked on the user would be redirected
to the personal web page of the person who sent the email. My problem is, I have no idea how to get the hyperlink to pull in the information from Active Directory...another problem is I know only enough coding to be dangerous so I am stuck.
Here is a sample of what I am working with, I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks!

  • How to launch My Own Application by clicking a embedded link in iPhone

    Hi All
Does anyone know how to launch my own application by clicking a embedded link in iPhone? same thing like you click a phone number , and then the phone application will be launched.
    Thanks
    -Tommy

You have to place the URL types your application handles in the Info.plist - see LaunchMe's for the format.
You'll do best opening it in a "plain text format" (right-click, open as), as it's a nested array instead of just a set of values, and it's easiest seen/modified in its native XML.

  • Embedding a YouTube Video utilizing HTML Insert Crashes Muse Repeatedly

Just today I have noticed when embedding a YouTube Video in Muse that it has begun crashing repeatedly. I cannot get the video to stay embedded to finish this project. Is there a bug or a work-around?
    Thank you.

Please try using YouTube embed code with the "Enable privacy-enhanced mode" option checked. It appears this crash is being triggered by recent changes in how YouTube's embed code works. At least early evidence indicates turning the "Enable privacy-enhanced mode" option on when creating the embed code appears to change the behavior of the embed code enough to avoid triggering this crash within Muse.
If you do try this, please report back to let us know whether or not setting this option enables you to avoid this crash. Thanks.
