Embedded pictures not forwarding
I have an ipad running gmail using a 3G network smpt. When I forward pictures that are embedded in the email - the recipient doesn't get them. Any ideas?
From what account/program/provider were the messages sent to the iPad?

When I receive mail with embedded pictures, sometimes they do not show. I just logged into the webmail for my provider, and everything shows perfectly in the mail. In Mail, there are no attachments in this latest E-mail, but my webmail shows all of the attachments. How can I ensure that my Mail application on my MacBook displays images properly?
It was an executable file.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate, Firefox 3.6.16
This problem started up about 4 months ago. I thought it was a Google problem, but Google claims it's a browser problem. The same problem happens with Internet Explorer. I checked the Google website and many people are having this same problem. And Google is totally unresponsive.
Attached pictures go thru fine, but if I get an e-mail from someone with embedded pictures in the message, when I forward that message, the receiver does not get the pictures...only a red X in a blank box.
How can this be fixed?Hello,
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)
* On Windows you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the option key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by quitting Firefox and then going to your Terminal and running: firefox -safe-mode (you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
* Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshooting extensions and themes article for that.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.
Thank you. -

How can I send pictures not embedded, but as an attachment? THX
I had the same problem. I closed the message, tried again selecting the correct imessage contact number and it worked.
I'm guessing I first selected a non-imessage phone number and it got stuck in a gray/can't send mode (bug). -
[solved] Google Earth does not show embedded pictures
I'm using the Google Earth AUR package.
When I click on the little blue squares in the satellite view, only a big white placeholder window for the picture is shown, but no picture is embedded. Only a small question mark is shown in the middle of a the rather large white window, clicking on it brings me to Firefox, showing the picture in Panoramio. Please help me! How can I enable the embedded pictures?

Embedded pictures on AOL not coming thru

My Mac OS X (with 10.6.8 software) Mail 4.6 sends emails that other email clients don’t recognize as attachments, but as embedded pictures. When I receive emails from others, I do not see whole image either. I did change "rich text" to "plain text" in message format - no results.
My daughter has Mac (10.8.5) with Mail 6.6, which does not have this problem. Can I install 6.6 instead of 4.6 or do you know other fix?
Help, please?
Thanks,
AndrewI've been having the same problem now for several months (at least 3-4 if not more). And the frequency of Mail quitting is increasing, several times in a few hours. And as with you, no particular message pops up before hand or not even the beach-ball spinning first and then quitting.
I too have been sending Apple the crash reports. However, I have not contacted Apple Support yet. Hoping to find the answer in this forum, but again, no luck.
If you have found a solution since then, please advise. Or if anyone else out there knows of this issue and can help, that would be greatly appreciated. -
I have received E-mails with embeded pictures.When I go to forward them, the text appears, but the pictures are lost.
Does anyone have any suggestions?Sunday,
One way to see if a picture is actually attached to your email, rather than being shown through HTML, is to see if Mail shows an attachment with the "save" and "slideshow" buttons at the top part of the mail.
Clicking on "slideshow" will show you all the pictures attached to the mail.
Another thing you can do is to choose View > Message > Raw Source from the menu. This will show you the raw code for your mail.
If the pictures are showing up because of html, you'll see some code like:
<HTML>
<HEAD>
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Content-Type" CONTENT="text/html; charset=windows-1252">
<META NAME="Generator" CONTENT="Microsoft Word 97">
<TITLE>Page title </TITLE>
</HEAD>
<BODY LINK="#0000ff" VLINK="#800080">
<a href="http://www.dummyaddress.com/docs/newsletter/0906/">
<img src="http://www.dummyaddress.com/docs/newsletter/0906/online0906-large.gif" width="700" height="3785" border="0">
</a>
</BODY>
</HTML>
If it's there, it means when you are forwarding the mail you're not forwarding pictures, just code; furthermore, Mail doesn't do HTML at this point, so the code won't work in your forwarded mail. -
Behaviour sRGB embedded pictures in Lightroom versus IE
hello,
I have a calibrated monitor (6500K and a gamma of 2,2). I'm working with Windows Vista. When I view a picture with embedded sRGB profile in InternetExplorer (uses no colormanagement) and Adobe Lightroom (uses colormanagement), there is a very little difference in color between Internet Explorer and Lightroom or Windows photo gallery. IE shows the colors a little bit more saturated. The grays look the same.
I know that when I view a picture with embedded Adobe RGB profile or Prophoto profile, It will look completely different in Lightroom versus Internet Explorer.
sRGB is the default color space for Windows IE. Is it normal, even with a calibrated monitor, that there is still a little difference visible with sRGB embedded pictures, between applications using profiles (like Lightroom) and applications not using profiles (like Internet Explorer)>s it normal, even with a calibrated monitor, that there is still a little difference visible with sRGB embedded pictures, between applications using profiles (like Lightroom) and applications not using profiles (like Internet Explorer)
Yes. You will only see the correct color in managed apps even on calibrated monitors. This includes Safari and Firefox
with the secret setting, but excludes Internet explorer and very surprisingly Google's Chrome (Boooo Google!!!). The reason for this is that the color primaries (i.e. the actual colors of your monitor's red, green, and blue emitters) are never exactly the same as sRGB's.
There is also a small knee in the shadow portion of sRGB. Most calibration software will calibrate not to this tone curve, but to simple gamma 2.2, so you will always see a small difference in the shadow portion between managed apps and unmanaged apps.
Now as Sean notes, you cannot really predict what your image will look like on other people's monitors. In general it will hover around to the look of sRGB on your calibrated monitor in managed apps, which is why everybody will recommend sRGB. But individually, you can get quite large deviations. Especially because of the current prevalence of laptops, which without fail almost always have terrible screens. They usually give rise to very strong shifts of the blue component (which some people erroneously interpret as a problem with sRGB). Unfortunately there is really nothing you can do about it. -
Missing Text in mails behind embedded pictures
Hello :)
writing a mail with the standard ios 6 mail-app with embedded pictures just fails:
I write some text, then I add a picture by using the "add picture" option of the mail-app. Then I continue my text after the picture, then adding a second picture, and so on.
The result is, that the Mail contains the first text followed by all added pictures, but the text between resp. after the pictures is gone.
In my sense it is a bug and not a feature, or perhaps I've not set the right settings?!
AlechseijThere is no setting to have "right" or "wrong" in this case. What I mean is that it works regardless of any settings because there are settings to control the feature. So ... You can't have a setting wrong.
Try hitting the return key twice after each entry. After you enter your text, hit return twice, add the photo, hit return twice and so on. See if that works - just as a test.
And are you sure that all of your text isn't going down to the bottom of the email?
Did you try any basic troubleshooting? Quit the mail app completely. Reboot the iPad.....
Quit the app completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. -
FrameMaker 11 omits embedded pictures when publishing to epub 3
I am trying to publish a book containing multiple embedded pictures to epub 3, but for some reason the FrameMaker 11 omits the pictures when running the publish script. The pictures also disappear when publishing to html help, but not when merely publishing to pdf. What may be wrong?
I am running TC4 on win64 with everything updatedWhat's the graphics file format of the imported image files?
What conversion have you specified for the output, assuming that ePub workflow is similar to XML and HTML, where image destruction is controlled by:
File > Utilities > HTML Setup
[ Options \... ]
File Format for Images:
(_) GIF (_) JPEG (_) PNG
{any new choices in FM11?}
And since FM converts image formats for some workflows, those files have to reside somewhere, so access and permission problems could arise. -
Embedded pictures in disclaimer
Hi all,
I've not found the answer to this particularly question over the Internet : does Exchange 2013 on-premise allow embedded pictures in disclaimer ?
I actually use an Exchange 2010, and I know it's not possible with this version without 3rd party solution, but nothing about 2013 on the Technet (or it is pretty hidden !).
Have a good day.
FXEHi,
In Exchange 2013, we can't use the embedded image in the disclaimer as in Exchange 2010.
In Exchange 2013, we also need to use HTML tag to add images to an HTML disclaimer. You can see it from the transport rule actions in the following article.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-GB/library/aa998315(v=exchg.150).aspx

How to really (!) compress embedded pictures?
I have a big, big pdf doc with mostly embedded pictures.
Now I want to compress the whole pdf doc up to 10-20% of the original size.
There are some so-called "pdf compressor" tools out there.
I tried a couple of them but the pdf doc is NOT getting much smaller (10.1 MB->9.9 MB)
So I am still searching for real (!) pdf compressor which is able to compress the embedded pictures.
If these pictures were stored as (uncompressable) *.png images then the compressor should be able
to convert them to *.jpg and compress them even more.
Does someone know such a tool?
PeterI think your question would be better answered in the Acrobat forum, for discussion about its "PDF Optimizer" feature rather than here which is about the technical details of the PDF file format.
But since you raised it here, I will point out that PDF supports MANY DIFFERENT compression formats for images - both lossless (eg. Flate, LZW, JPEG2000, JBIG2, CCITT, etc.) as well as lossy (eg. JPEG/DCT, JPEG2000, JBIG2). In addition, PDF supports technologies such as segmentation, layering and like which are commonly used in image compression strategies. -

Hello, I have an N95 8GB with a cracked LCD screen. Just wondering where is the best place to purchase another screen? I've noticed them on E-bay around £30. Would I be able to purchase one through Nokia? That way I know it wouldn't be a fake. Cheers
