Embedded Windows Reader 10.1.2 Crashes Using the Typewriter Tool
Since Reader 10.1.2 my typewriter tool documents are not working properly in an embedded Adobe Reader window, e.g. in Firefox or Internet Explorer.
Opening the first file at http://www.ld-didactic.de/software/1.pdf shows the typewriter tool window as usual.
Opening the second file at http://www.ld-didactic.de/software/2.pdf doesn't show the typewriter tool window anymore.
Also, opening the first document again will not show the typewriter tool window again. Instead the Reader crashes often while loading more typewriter documents or while closing the embedded Reader.
I tested it with Adobe Reader 10.1.2 in Firefox and Internet Explorer on Windows Vista and Windows 7 x64 systems. It worked with Adobe Reader 10.1.1.
Can anyone reproduce this issue?
Michael
Did you open the files inside Firefox or Internet Explorer using the embedded Reader?
Do you have Adobe Acrobat or Reader 10.1.2 installed on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system?
Only the first attempt opens the typewriter toolbar correctly on the systems I tested. Later on no typewriter toolbar opens again and I often get BEX (buffer overflow exceptions) resulting in DEP (Data Execution Prevention) exceptions:

How do you increase the font size to bigger than 24, using the typewriter tool in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 for Mac? Often I just want to label an item on a map that is in PDF and want to use a simple label rather than a Text Box for labeling, but have yet to find a way to increase the font size beyond 24. Can someone help me with this? - JML

Photoshop CS4 Crash Using the Pen Tool
We have experienced an issue where creating a line/path using the Pen tool in Photoshop CS4 caused a system-wide freeze, regardless of operating system, other software installed, etc....
Not even a kernal panic, but just a complete freeze.
We found that it only occurred on our white, 24-inch iMacs (2.16 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo). I tried it on 5 different white iMacs, with various builds of Tiger or Leopard, and they all froze up completely.
We had a plain 10.5.8 image on one of the white iMacs, with nothing extra except Photoshop CS4, and it froze up completely using the Pen Tool on a new document as well.
Oddly enough, the workaround was having Photoshop CS4 run using Rosetta, and then the Pen Tool works fine. It is odd considering the iMacs have Intel processors, and not PowerPC that would need Rosetta.
I have not found anyone else with hardware specific issues like this. So, I thought i should share our (hopefully) temporary workaround.A complete system freeze means a kernel or driver level bug, or a hardware problem.
Rosetta won't process as fast - meaning that the processor is less taxed, and it may call the drivers differently.
Upgrading to MacOS 10.6 might avoid driver problems (that were in 10.5), but hardware issues would remain.
But first you might try disabling OpenGL drawing in preferences (avoiding the most problematic drivers, and reducing the load in the graphics hardware). -
Using the Lasso Tool crashing Photoshop CC
Hi,
Looking for some help as to why Photoshop crashes at least once a day, sometimes more when using the basic Lasso Tool.
I'm using Photoshop CC, and it's completely up to date. I'm on Windows 8.1. I'm a freelance illustrator and use the lasso tool when doing all of my artwork. It crashes on any image I'm working, smaller stuff to larger files, from small amount of layers to over 200. I'll use the lasso, typically holding alt to use the polygonal option and I'll notice when clicking to close my shape, photoshop will completely stop working. I'll have to open the task manager and completely end the program. Crashes across the board from CMYK to RGB, in 8 bits.
Looking for some help / ideas. Please let me know if you need any other info, thanks.
KevinHi Chris,
I've updated the system driver on the wacom, which was released in March. I also tried the mouse and also seems to be up to date. Here's a shot of the task manager when freezes. Does that help at all?
I've just had a freeze 2 minutes ago. I've been waiting for it to happen, hoping the wacom driver might change. Apparently not. -
Adobe Photoshop CS4/5 Crashes when using the Move Tool
Hello. I'm here because I'm having an issue with Photoshop.
I was trying out CS5 when it started to crash every time I tried to use the Move Tool. It was the generic error message: "Adobe Photoshop CS4 has stopped working.
A problem has caused Adobe Photoshop CS4 to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
Thinking that it was a CS5 issue, I went back to my copy of CS4, only to find the same thing happening there (I also downgraded because CS5 was also crashing at other random times for some reason, but that's an issue for another time).
This puzzles me because both were working fine before. Granted, I hadn't opened them for a while, but it was a sudden thing.
My first impulse was to uninstall and reinstall CS4. No luck. So then, I uninstalled all third-party plugins, thinking that might be it. Still, the same problem. I started looking around on Google for solutions and found the instructions on resetting the Tool preferences (I chose to reset the preferences for ALL of the tools). When that didn't work, I tried deleting the preferences file outright, which said instructions recommended. Nothing.
I should note that Photoshop crashes when using the Move Tool to move an object without ant lines around it, i.e., a layer. I'll move the object, and after two to three seconds, the mentioned error message will appear and Windows will close Photoshop. This, however, only seems to happen after selecting, copying, and pasting part of a large object with some variation of the Marqee Tool (thus making that part a new layer by default) while working at a zoom of 100%. So, in short, working with a large image like This at 100% zoom. The image linked is the image that I was using and am currently using to reproduce the problem. It is 1280x1024 pixels. I have tested this with somewhat smaller, yet comparable images too. Same problem. I have never had this problem working with large images before, and I wonder if anyone has any suggestions short of formatting my hard drive.

Photoshop Version: CS4 Extended 11.0.2Even a decent RAM upgrade is usually only a few hundred dollars nowadays, but it's not a trivially simple process. That said, with a little research and care you can do it. Alternatively, you can hire people (e.g., "Geek Squad") to do such an upgrade.
First, you'll need to know what your operating system capacity is. For example, a 32 bit Windows system can really only use up to a bit more than 3 GB of RAM, while a 64 bit Windows system can use all the RAM you can find a place to plug in. What version of Windows are you running?
Then you'll need to determine what RAM you have installed and what your computer's maximum RAM capacity is - usually you can do this through internet research, either by visiting your computer manufacturer's web site or doing google searches. There are even RAM manufacturer web sites that will tell you what kind of RAM your computer needs and suggest sources, for example:
http://www.kingston.com/
It may be that you can just plug additional chips into currently empty sockets, or it is possible you'll need to replace the RAM chips you have installed in your computer to make room for an upgrade. Every computer is different.
If you list your computer model and current RAM that you have installed here, it may be that someone can help with more specific advice.

Photoshop CC 2014 Crashes Randomly when using the Text Tool...
Since the most recent Photoshop update, CC 2014 has been extremely buggy and completely unstable on my Mac Pro, which is inexcusable from a paid service . The most common crash for me occurs when I try to use the “text tool” or attempt to edit text (usually the color). I am occasionally prompted with a window stating, “Could not complete your request because of a program error” and then Photoshop crashes seconds after.
After the initial crash and Apple’s various prompts I usually go through 2-3 consecutive cycles of Photoshop attempting to open back up and crashing over and over again.
I’ve attempted signing out and back in to my Creative Cloud as suggested in several threads, but that was unsuccessful in mitigating the crashing. Is there a fix for this, other than uninstalling and reinstalling? My studio has too many upcoming deliverables and deadlines to do a fresh install, so suggestions/solutions would be appreciated .

HT1338 how do i load windows 7 on a mac air using the super drive?
How do I load windows 7 on a Mac Air using the super drive?
You use Boot Camp to partition the SSD in the Air, download the Win 7 Support files from Apple (part of the boot camp process), save them to a USB thumb drive, have the USB superdrive connect to the Air with the Win 7 install DVD in the drive. Once partitioned the system will reboot and start the Win 7 install.

I'm using After Effects CS6 11.0.2 on Mac OS X 10.8.2. Whenever I use the pen tool to add a vertex, the application crashes. I've submitted several crash reports to apple (they get sent to apple automatically when the app relaunches).
My specs:
iMac
21.5-inch, Mid 2010
Processor 3.06 GHz Intel Core i3
Memory 12 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics ATI Radeon HD 4670 256 MB
Software OS X 10.8.2 (12C60)
Anybody else having this problem or have a solution? So I have discovered it only crashes when adding a vertex when I'm editing the max a few frames in. When I add vertices on the first frame of the comp I don't have any trouble. I've tried unchecking the box that says preserve constant vertex count, and it still happens.

Illustrator CC 2014.1.0 Consistently crashes when using the Curvature tool
I'm using the curvature tool to trace a simple JPEG. After a few minutes the program will crash.
Never had this issue with previous versions of Illustrator.
I am using OSX 10.7.5
Any ideas as to why this would happen?
ThanksI cannot guarantee you my suggestions are warranted, or effective, and I am in no way associated with Adobe troubleshooting staff, but... you should check to make sure that there are no erroneous printer entries listed with your peripherals. In addition, if you have networking functions enabled on your printer, and it does not possess network capabilities or they're malfunctioning, I advise you resolve or remove them from the properties ASAP. I don't know why, but if there's a networking printer error, you'd best expect AI to follow suit.
If that does not do the trick, you can try removing the prefs file in your AI dir. -
Photoshop crashes when I use the marquis tool.
Photoshop crashes when I use the marquee tool. As soon as I make a selection it crashes my computer (every time!) by either rendering the screen black or sometimes all white. I have to force shut down and restart. I'm using MacBook Pro OS 10.6.8 with Photoshop CS6. I am not in a position to update OS at this time. Is there anything I can do to work around this problem? It's extremely time-consuming and infuriating.
Here's the crash report, if anyone is able to make sense of this, I'd sure appreciate knowing what the problem is.

Kernel panics are not caused by applications, but by defective hardware or bugs in the OS and drivers.
Resetting prefs may avoid the settings that triggered the crash - but the cause remains in the hardware, OS, or driver code.
Since Apple is not going to update the drivers in 10.6.8, your best bet is to update the OS when you can, and hope the new drivers are in better shape. Unfortunately, it is also possible that you just have a bad GPU or video RAM - and fixing that would require replacing the video card or system (in the case of laptops or all-in-one machines). -
I downloaded the full Ultimate Christmas. I have a corrupt song. I have Windows XP so I can not use the iTunes Cloud. It says that is the only way to re-download songs now is via the Cloud. How do I get a uncorrupted version of my song?
When I thing of the Thousands of dollars I have spent to get a 2000 song library and how Applle keeps screwing Windows users (no back-up of songs) I just think what a fool I was.I did think about that and if I have to I will do that, however there are about 50 songs. I have closed and reopened iTunes several times and I am sure that I have the latest version. It fails right away but I can click on the cloud download icon and download the song that it failed on ... therefore it is not that song "or any one song" causing the issue. Any ideas?

Help with Adobe.premiere.elements12. Please
It would appear under the organizer tab that the photos are organised in the lowest folder in the folder structure within Windows Explorer. How can I use the Windows Explorer structure to organise the photos within Elements. In a situation such as yours, I tend to consolidate items into folders so I have folders of nice workable numbers of images, somewhere between 20 and 200 images. Now, whatever, once you've imported, do your moving within LR, not the OS! I will select all in a folder and drag into a folder a level or two or three above, and then delete the newly empty subfolders. I hope this helps a bit!
Once you've reached just new Imports of camera output, you'll be flying along.
