Embedding 2 queries within the same tab in a work-book?

Hi Experts,
Is it possible to embedd multible queries within a single tab in a Workbook?i.e. can we define a cell range in which a particular query is to be embedded and a different cell range within the same tab for another query?

Hi,
It is very much possible.
Just insert the 2 queries at different places and save the work book.
In the properties you can so the the result of the 2 queries do not overwrite and ouput is adjusted accordingly.

Why won't my frames open within the same tab?

I have a very simple site built around one frameset. When I navigate from the links on the main frame to the content, the content opens in a new tab.
Although I have read nearly every forum article about this I can not fix this problem. I certainly must be missing something here.
In any event, yes:
The <body> tag is removed.
It works in both Chrome and Safari.

@Gingerbread_Man I attempted the base element but no luck. The target attributes are pointed to the ''content'' frame wich works correctly in other browsers.
Still stumped, although I imagine I'm missing something very simple.
Please ignore the silly temp names given to each page, I've been getting loopy between this fix and the baby.

In FF 34.0.5 I use to be able to click on a link within an e-mail and the link would open in a new tab; it now opens in the same tab; how can i change it back?

I'm using FF 34.0.5 (I like it). I use to be able to right click on a link, within an e-mail, and the link would open in a new tab. Now when I click on the link it opens in the same tab replacing my e-mail.
Example - a friend sends me an e-mail containing a link to a web site he thinks I'd like. I click on the link and go to the web site and then go back to the e-mail tab and reply to him. Now, when clicking that link, my e-mail disappears and is replaced by the new site.
How can I fix this? When this happened once before I was told to change the 'value' for a specific 'preference name' through the about:config page.
Can anyone help jog my memory?

You can check this pref on the about:config page for external links.

If this pref has the default value -1 then browser.link.open_newwindow is used.

How to create a different browser session within the same profile

Internet Explorer 8 lets you create a new session within a new browser window but how can I do the same with Firefox? I know if you switch user profiles then you can have two browsers in different sessions but I would like to have two sessions using the same user profile.

Sorry, that's not possible with Firefox. Firefox uses a single executable instance to run all windows and tabs, where IE starts another process for each window. Chrome uses a separate process for each tab (or window), which seems real nice until it sucks the life out of an older processor with the "overhead" of all those separate processes.
Depending upon what you want a "different session" for, there are 3 extensions that allow for multiple cookie sessions which allow for multiple, simultaneous logins to the same server. That works to allow the user to log into multiple webmail accounts at the same service provider.

Monitoring servers in SCOM 2012 via different locals within the same management group

Hi,
I have 2 management servers in a same management group. The 1st one is having English (US) locale while other is installed on Swedish locale. Both are accessed by different users having same admin rights.
Once a USER 1 try to register a server through authoring tab from 1st management server(installed on English locale), a profile/group wrt the server registered is created successfully but the USER on 2nd management server (installed on Swedish locale) can
not see the same in Authoring tab. He can view it in Monitoring tab as as well as Administration tab.
The Vice versa is also true.
Does any one have idea that is it SCOM 2012's expected behaviour wrt 2 2 different users on 2 different locales within a same management group ?

I am a little confused, what do you mean by "register a server through authoring tab"?
Do you mean that when you discover a server on 1st MS with discovery wizard then you cannot see it on 2nd MS(and the vice versa)?
As far as I know, all those information should be stored in the operation database which is shared to both MSs within the same management group.
We may use SQL query to find the discovered server on the operation database. Please also check operation manager event logs to get more information to troubleshoot this issue.

Imagine the following BMM:
There is one Logical Dimension Table "Service Account" with the following LTS:
- LTS "D_SERVICE"
- LTS "D_SERVICE_CLASS"
- LTS "D_SERVICE_STATUS"
This Logical Tabe "Service Account" joins (One-to-many) with several Fact Tables (other Logical Tables).
In the Physical Layer the joins for the "Service Account" LTS are:
- One-to-many between D_SERVICE_CLASS and D_SERVICE
- One-to-many between D_SERVICE_STATUS and D_SERVICE
The problem is that when I build a report in Answers using only the following columns of the Logical Table "Service Account":
- Service Class Desc (which exists in the Logical Table "Service Account" and in the Physical Table D_SERVICE_CLASS)
- Service Status Desc (which exists in the Logical Table "Service Account" and in the Physical Tabl D_SERVICE_STATUS)
- MSISDN (which existis in the Logical Table "Service Account" and in the Phsyical Table D_SERVICE)
the following error appears:

Physically, only D_SERVICE is joined to the facts. Then D_SERVICE_CLASS is joined to D_SERVICE (one-to-many) and D_SERVICE_STATUS is joined also to D_SERVICE (one-to-many).
In the BMM, there is only one Logical Dimension Table for those 3 physical tables. This Logical Dimension Table is called "Service Account" and has 3 LTS: D_SERVICE, D_SERVICE_CLASS, D_SERVICE_STATUS. The Logical Dimension Table has several logical columns that are associated to those 3 LTS: SERVICE_KEY, SERVICE_CLASS_KEY, SERVICE_STATUS_KEY, SERVICE_MSISDN, SERVICE_CLASS_DESC, SERVICE_STATUS_DESC.
The Logical Dimension Table "Service Account" is then joined to a fact table (one-to-many).
I didn't understand the suggestion about the 3 LTS... Aren't we doing that already? Can you explain it better, please?

Multiple Queries on the same WB-sheet - overlapping/overwriting

Hi experts,
we need to create a workbook with more than one query on a single workbook-sheet.
Unfortunately the cell-range needed by the queries is not static or good predictable.
The problem is that if you position 2 analysis-tables below each other, it might happen that
the first/upper one grows into the cell-range of the 2nd analysis-table. Hence the both tables
overlap and overwrite each other.
BEx Analyzer 3.5 had a solution for this problem - the 2nd table was shifted down and always
started after the (dynamic) end of the 1st analysis-table. Such a function seems to be missing in BEx-Analyzer 7.
Is there a common solution for this issue?
How did you solve such cases?

For beeing correct:
The 2nd table overlaps/overwrites the 1st one - because it is refreshed later.

Have you tried using 'Clipping' where the screen is clipped to the size required and then the use of 'Scroll Bars' allows the resulting field toexpand as such without overwriting a second query within the same page. The actual outer size of the first query does not expand but using scroll bars, you can see more results .....

Getting Error : Illegal cross join within the same dimension

At database there are 4 tables - XLE_Entity_profiles (A) , XLE_ETB_profiles (B) ,XLE_Registration (C),XLE_Reg_Function(D) .
Attribute info is as below -
A.Le_name
B.LRU_name
C. Registraton name
D. Function_code
I have to model a single dimension which contains the attributes from these tables and dimension should also support queries which contains attributes from this dimension only without selecting any fact.
For Exp - query is as below -
Le_name,Le-Registraton name,Le_Function_code,LRU_name,LRU_Registraton name,LRU_Function_code
To support such query , i created aliases of table XLE_Registration,XLE_Reg_Function.
Aliases names are - XLE_Registration_LE (E),XLE_Registration_LRU (F),XLE_Reg_Function_LE (G).,XLE_Reg_Function_LRU (H)
Attributes from aliases are as below -
XLE_Registration_LE- Le-Registraton name
XLE_Registration_LRU -LRU_Registraton name
XLE_Reg_Function_LE - Le_Function_code
XLE_Reg_Function_LRU - LRU_Function_code
i have renamed the attributes For LE and LRU.

Multiple running queries at the same time

Hi!
I looked around (and RTM) for this but didn't find anything, so I'm asking here.
I have quite a few long running queries (data loading and such things, warehousing stuff), and I need to be able to run multiple queries/statements at the same time. In TOAD I can do this, start a procedure and while it is running I can do SQL statements in another session tab (it supports threaded sessions - it starts queries in their own background thread/session).
When I start a long running procedure or query in SQL Developer I can not do anything until the procedure execution finishes. Is there any way (setting/preference) to enable SQL Developer to be able to run multiple queries at the same time?
I really would like to move away from TOAD, but this is a major showstopper for me.

This post is going to be a little longer, but I have to clarify things out.
I did not mean to throw any wild accusations, because I did my fair share of RTFM and searching the help. I can tell you that if you put any of these in the help search box:

you won't find anything usefull, the article that comes closest, is this:
"Sharing of Connections
By default, each connection in SQL Developer is shared when possible. For example, if you open a table in the Connections navigator and two SQL Worksheets using the same connection, all three panes use one shared connection to the database. In this example, a commit operation in one SQL Worksheet commits across all three panes. If you want a dedicated session, you must duplicate your connection and give it another name. Sessions are shared by name, not connection information, so this new connection will be kept separate from the original."
It does not mention any spawning of non-shared connections from the current one, nor it does mention using a accelerator key combo. But since there could be written something about it, I guess you could call it a documentation bug, because it does not provide any clue to this functionality. The help is definitely of no help in this case. As you can see, I do not throw accusations without trying to find out something first. I guess if someone is not as deep into SQL Developer as you are, there is no way for him/her to know this.
OK, I tried your suggestion, and (sadly) it does not work as I suppose it should.
Here's what I did:
- start a new connection, and enter the following code in SQL Worksheet:

As you can see, it doesn't do much besides holding the connection busy for a while when executed.
- start a new non-shared connection from the first one using CTRL-SHIFT-N (as you suggested) and put the following statement in the new SQL Worksheet (with "__1" appended to connection name)
select sysdate from dual;
- go to the first SQL Worksheet and execute the procedure
- while the procedure is executing, go to the second SQL Worksheet and hit F9.
The sysdate is returned as soon as the first SQL Worksheet finishes and not any sooner. It may run in separate session, but the result is not returned before the other session is finished doing what it is doing. I guess the correct behaviour would be to return the sysdate immediately.
I verified this behaviour repeating it 3 times starting with a new instance of SQL Developer, each time connecting to another schema and spawning the new non-shared session. The database used was Oracle 10.2.0.3 EE on RHEL 4 UPD3.
The concurrent execution lacks concurrency. The statements might be executed concurently on the database (i did not went the extra mile to verfiy this), but the returning of results is just not independent of other sessions. To the end user this is as much concurrent as it is serial execution.
I hope developers get this issue straightened out soon, as I said, I'd love to move away from Toad, but I'll have to wait until they fix this out.
Is there anything else that can be done to make it behave correctly?

How to use multiple profiles within the same instance of Thunderbird

About a month ago, I had Thunderbird configured with three profiles,
and all three could be used within a single startup/instance of
Thunderbird. That PC is now gone. I have re-configured the three
profiles on a new PC, but am having trouble making all three
useable within the same instance of Thunderbird. Can you help?
Both PCs are/were Windows-7 64 bit.

Thunderbird only opens on the default if one profile
or
if Profile Manager is instructed to ask at startup it will allow you to choose which Profile to open else it opens on the last Profile used..
So it shows one Profile at a time in one instance of Thunderbird.
However, one Profile can have many mail accounts.
eg: I run 4 mail accounts in one Profile.

SSO for various applications within the same portal

Is it possible to implement SSO at the application level in an EP 7.0 environment?
Ex: One Portal with ESS and BI Functionality (BI is connected to the BI backend, ESS is connected to the ECC backend, but all of it exists within the same portal instance) in which the BI Explorer would rely on SSO, while the ESS would require a logon to the portal. The initial page of the portal would not be a logon screen, but rather a menu screen

For our purposes, ESS would have to be authenticated (perferably through Active Directory), while BI Explorer wouldn't require "visible" authentication, BUT the question would be, could all of this exist on the same portal..
I agree that it certainly wouldn't be user friendly to ask users to logon (using AD l/p) for certain parts but not others. I think the solution would simply to have 2 portal instances (ESS/ECC = Logon/Password, BI Portal = SSO), and to federate the BI to the ECC Portal. That way, if someone wanted to work in BI and only BI, they could go without logging on, but if they wanted to go to the ESS Portal they would have to logon BUT would be able to use both ESS and BI.
This all stems from an effort to eliminate the neccessity of having to logon to a portal (for a small group of managers), but still maintaining a level of security for ALL users in regards to employee self-service

How do I turn off tab groups?It forces the same tabs to reopen in next session

I upgraded to 6.0.1 and experimented with the tab groups. Now I cannot turn it off. It seems to force the same tabs to be opened with the next session. I had (and still have) the warn me when I close multiple tabs. It overrides that option if I click the close the window. It just closes the firefox window and reopens all the tabs with the next session. This nullifies the best feature that firefox had over chrome.
Please help me to get my old Firefox back...

I like them. I want them to stay attached and open all of them when I open FF.
I just wish there was a way to lock them at a particular point.
Occasionally, I mistakenly close a batch of tabs from my second screen... when I close my primary screen, it forgets the second screen tabs, and I have to reopen and regroup the tabs I closed by mistake when I re-open FF...
I love tabs and wish there was a way to keep them in spite of the fact that I might occasionally close them in the wrong sequence by mistake from time to time ...
Any recommendations for locking the tab groups once configured?

Hello, here is my problem: reading your mozilla support, I learned how to make Firefox open links in Google results in the same tab, that's the way I like it, but I still like to have my YouTube windows pop-up in a new tab (I participate in one forum, when I come to the YouTube window in some topic, I usually click on a small right-down button "watch on YouTube", and that always opens video it in a new tab; all until latest few updates of Firefox). Can this issue be corrected in about:config feature, and how? Sorry if my English isn't so glorious.

Hello. I have just tried this add-on you suggested, and no change.
And no, there was no some other add-on before, not that I know about it. Mainly, I need this option while I'm on a forum (IP board powered), it is not really something so important, but it's neat function for me.
So, to be more detailed - I read a certain topic on this forum, and some of the posts from other members contain YouTube screens (looking same as on the original YouTube page), showing the frame of a video.
In earlier versions of Firefox, I used to click on a small YouTube logo button (right side, down, between "watch on full screen" and "watch later" buttons). Clicking on this button automatically opened new tab, leaving forum tab as it is, and in new tab original YouTube page, with that certain video. In the same time, in Google search page, when clicking on a link, all links were opening in the same tab.
Now, after some of the latest updates of Firefox, I noticed that some default settings were changed - in Google search, clicking on a link always opens a link in a new tab. I have found out here on your forum how to set this back in about:config feature, and now I have again that links in a Google results page are opened in the same tab (that's the way I like it).
But YouTube screens on this forum are now also being opened in the same tab, and that is what I don't like, and trying to change back.
So, what I need: all links to open in the same tab after clicking, as I have it now, and YouTube screens (e. g. on this forum) to be opened in a new tab (by clicking on a small YouTube logo ("watch this video on YouTube").
Pedantic I am, I know that, and I know that this may look silly to some people, but if there is a way to do something, please tell me.

Simple button action that goes to a page within the same doc

I can't figure this out. I have a button I want to use that takes a person back to the first, or second page of the same doc. It's a catalog section with a table of contents. I need to make links for the pdf that takes people to certain pages within the same document.
In the Buttons panel, I see how to make the button, but when I assign an action, the only choice that makes sense is "Go To Destination", but I don't get or see any way to choose "page 2" of the document, or another selection method.
I did this before a few years ago on hundreds of pages, and when I open those old documents up to copy/paste the same buttons, they don't even appear to have actions on them anymore, as if it never happened.
So, what's the secret? Certainly there's a way to link to another page in the same ID file, no?

Finally figured it out. I do NOT use the button panel at all. No buttons needed. Just select the grouped object that I want for my button, and hit the "add hyperlink" button in the Hyperlink panel. Then choose "Page" from the menu that opens up and be on my way. What was throwing me for a bad loop, was that I had copied and pasted the button graphic form another document. Well, since the link made previously was broken now, I had the red flag in the Hyperlinks panel...and thus, the "new hyperlink" button was greyed out, sending me in circles. The minute I deleted the old hyperlink it carried over from the old document, the new hyperlink button worked again and all was well.
