Embedding Crystal report in Form builder

Hi,
I want to call Crystal report 8.5 rpt files from my form builder application(6i)
using activex component.
But i don't know how to set properties programatically.
Could any one can tell me were i could found this document.
pls help me to sove this problem.

I had this problem two weeks ago and i couldn't resolve it .
So I will give U the solution :
U must use Visual Basic.
Indeed u need VB to call an ocx object correctelly.
In forms u must create a document .ini that pass in parameter the dsn connection of ur forms, the sql clause, and the reportfilename.
If U want I can give U the utility creata in VB, and all the councils for u to manage using Crystal reports.

Crystal Report Windows Forms Viewer Error in 1 Workstation after upgrade of PL

Hi all,
We just upgraded SAP from 8.82 PL02 to 8.82 PL15.
Afterwards, in just 1 workstation, Crystal Reports layouts have Crystal Report Windows Forms Viewer error I attach.
Before the upgrade this error did not happen.
No permissions or authorizations were changed in the workstation.
The Crystal Reports layouts remain working fine in server and in the other workstations.
In the workstation following are installed:
- Operating System Windows 7;
- Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5;
- SAP Crystal Reports runtime engine for. NET Framework;
- Crystal Report 2008 Runtime SP6;
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Native Client.
All, but the operating system, are equal to the other workstations.
User has edit access to SAP folders, temp and access to the attach path.
We already uninstalled SAP client and client agent and re-installed it but with no avail.
Can anyone help me?

I found a tweet on google about this.. but the link is invalid.. and I could not find the article on SDN.

How do I the show parameter dialog in either WPF or Winforms viewer of Visual Studio 2010.
Parameters are not even visible in the Parameters Side panel. It is empty too..
I see two classes ParameterPrompting and ParameterPrompt both, on initialization throws exception.. even to manually invoke them...
Is it permanently removed?

Crystal Report Windows Forms Viewer problems - table could not be found

Hi,
I installed Crystal Report Viewer in SAP Business One 2007. All the while, I can run the reports without any problem. but when I loaded some of the new report, it gives me the following error message:
the caption says: "Crystal Reports Windows Forms Viewer"
the message says: "The table 'paymentVoucher' could not be found.
Error in file C:\...paymentVoucher.rpt. The table could not be found."
By the way, I can run the report in another workstation.
Any help or ideas of why this is happening or how to solve this will be greatly appreciated.

The report is not created by me. I just help others to transfer the report from one workstation to another workstation. PaymentVoucher is a view in the database and it is being put at a workstation that can be shared by everyone.
I've go through other forums and found out that it might be permission issues and now managed to solve the problem already.

PASSING PARAMETERS TO CRYSTAL REPORTS THRU FORMS!

Hi! all,
Is there someone who passed parameters to crystal reports from
forms 5.0?
The problem is when I call the report executable from the form,
its giving a login prompt again which is not desirable as @ this
stage the user has already logged in once. So is there a way to
pass this as a parameter to crystal or may be any better way???

Can anybody tell me how to call a crystal report, designed using Crystal Report 9, in form 6i? I tried one solution by using the host command but it was not working properly. The code I was tried is like:
     f_name varchar2(240);
     f_name :='C:\Program Files\Crystal Decisions\Crystal Reports 9\crw32.exe D:\Form16\Form16_Rep\bin\Debug\Form_16_character_emp.rpt';
               host(f_name);
This open the crystal report in design view. So how we call a report which run automatically like in .Net. How to pass the connection info of the database schema?

Hi
First see the built in run_product function.
You can create a parameter list, add the
"MAXIMIZE" paramter in it and then call your
report with run_product passing your parameter list in it.
hence the called report will be maximized.

Visual Studio 2005, embedded Crystal Report problem

I am very new at .NET, and this is my first post to this forum.
I've created a Crystal Report within a project using Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition, on a Windows XP machine. I set the report as the ReportSource for a CrystalReportViewer on the main form. I can see data in the report in design view when I right-click on any of the fields and click "Browse Field Data". But when I preview the report, or run it in the application, all I see are the column headings and report title. I am hoping I am leaving out something obvious. I've researched this for two days without success.
The report's detail section is NOT suppressed, btw.
FYI (although I think it might not be relevant, because I don't see the data when I preview it in Visual Studio either) the report is displayed in the application when a button is clicked, as follows:

I have done both, but I was currently using OLEDB.
I redesigned the report to use a dataset containing the correct data. Now, when I browse the fields, I see nothing. When I preview the report, I see what appears to be dummy data (a list of colors, etc).
But the GOOD news is: When I run the report in the application, I see the correct data!
Thanks! I think I'm good to go now. I will also apply the other suggestions, and try to simplify things.

Crystal Report Windows Forms Viewer - No Error Popup

Similar to this post: Error message that says "No Error" from CR Viewer, I have just upgraded by Application to .net 4.0 and Crystal Reports 2010. The report viewer works fine the first time a report is loaded, but when I change the parameters on the report, and put the updated report back into the report viewer, I get the message shown above. The report does not change its parameters and the updated report is not displayed. The code in question is setting the date parameters for the report. The user can select new date parameters from the form that encloses the report viewer. The code subclasses the Report Object code to add additional functions through interfaces. The IDateRange interface provides a starting and ending date range for the report using a property on the report class as follows:

Problem has been resolved. I downloaded Support Pack 8 (v.13.0.8.1216) from this location. I then applied the fix from the entry above:

can it possible i select column name in parameter as a list and report
show data only these column

I think you can achieve this as follows:
set up a new parameter, say P_FIELD, with initial value of empname
in your data model have an sql something like

P_FIELD as field1 from EMP
pass the column name to P_FIELD and the report will return that column

How to view flash embedded crystal reports?

Dear Experts,
I created a simple flash (SWF) file using xcelsius 2008 & Crystal Report Data Consumer data connectivity.
I embedded this flash object in a crystal report and checked the preivew. Every thing works fine in the Crystal Reports preview.
But when I opened in my CR viewer for the same crystal report having flash file embedded, the flash files are not shown at all (checked with downloaded CR Viewer and my application viewer).
After searching this forum and related documentation, I came to know from Crystal Reports 2008 FAQ that Crystal Reports 2008 Viewer (.NET winform viewer)- Doesnu2019t supports embedded Flash and and .NET WebForm viewers supports Crystal Reports with embedded flash.
I tried exporting to HTML format to see whether my flash files are working. Yes it is working in HTML exported. So, is it is using .Net WebForm viewer to display HTML exported files.
Is .Net WebForm viewer available as a seperate download?

The .Net WebForm viewer isn't available as a separate download. When Crystal Reports Developer is installed then the .Net WebForm viewer gets integrated with Visual Studio automatically.
Please try with the Crystal Reports Developer version and update us if you have any further queries.

Crystal Reports as Forms

I've got a handful of Adobe Forms that I want to convert into Crystal Reports and need to incorporate a "checkbox" that the user can tick off interactively with the report.
I've read a lot of threads describing how to show a checkbox based on a database value, but none that actually allow a user to click on the box and check/uncheck it.
This "form" doesn't need to submit anything back to a database because the users will just be printing the form out and faxing it off. It just needs to be interactive.
Thoughts, ideas?

I've never heard of this. You can export to Adobe but I don't believe we have an Adobe plugin.

Crystal Report Windows Form Viewer - Error in compiling SQL Expression

I am using C# and the Crystal Reports API to render reports in a windows application. Recently we decided to start using SQL Expressions in our reports. The reports developers are able to use them in development, but as soon as we deploy the reports to production, we are seeing the following error.

I understand that you want to be able to use CR XI in C++ Builder 2009. Never having used C++ Builder 2009 with CR, I can only suggest that you should be able to use the Crystal Reports Report Designer Component (RDC). For more info see C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Crystal Reports 11\Developer Files\Help\En\CrystalDevhelp.chm (if using CR 11.0) or C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Crystal Reports 11.5\Help\en\rdcsdk_com_dg_doc\doc\rdcsdk_com_dg.chm (if using CR 11.5).

Crystal report windows forms viewer - error in file

I am using visual basic - visual studio 2005 with crystal reports version 11.5 and am getting the following error when deploying to a windows 7 32 bit machine
Error in file
c:\users\username\appdata\local\temp\tempmanynumbersandcharacters.rpt
The request could not be submitted for background processing.
All six reports for this application give the same error. There is not a problem when it is deployed to a windows xp machine. I have three other applications that do not have problems in windows xp or windows 7 32 bit. I can't see any difference between these three apps and the one have a problem in windows 7.
