Embedding downloaded artwork into files

Is there an easy way to embed downloaded artwork into files? I have transferred some files to my PS3, but since iTunes doesn't embed the artwork it downloads to the files, only the ones I've manually added show artwork, which are very few. Is there a way that iTunes or another program for the Mac can take those artwork files and actually embed the images into the song files? I only need to do this with MP3s. Thanks

OK, I figured out how. I used one of Doug's AppleScripts, called Embed Artwork.

Embedding iPhoto keywords into files as IPTC keywords?

The subject pretty much says it all. Does anyone know of an application or script that will run through an iPhoto Library and for each image that has keywords assigned in iPhoto, will embed those keywords in the IPTC keywords field?

Ah, with the help of your instructions, I was indeed able to make it work, as advertised. Thanks for that!
Unfortunately, it doesn't totally solve my problem, because > 99% of my photos are shot in RAW (Nikon's NEF.) Looking at the spotlight data, it seems that iPhoto associates the the keywords data with the JPG it generates from the NEF file, but not with the actual RAW file in the "Originals" sub-folder.
I know that is possible to add IPTC data directly to RAW files (Photoshop won't do it, but Photo Mechanic, and a few other programs will), though I guess its a "philosophical" argument as to whether it is correct to do so or not.
There is no reason (except perhaps a bug) that iPhoto couldn't add the "kMDItemKeywords" spotlight property to the original NEFs as well as the generated JPEGs.
Anyway, thanks for your help, and I suspect that I am going to have to "roll my own" solution for doing this with RAW files.

Downloaded Artwork

What's the difference between downloaded artwork and artwork, that I put with the album myself? If I save my songs to an external harddrive will the artwork be saved with it or do I have to save it seperately.

Downloaded artwork is not embedded inside the ID3 tag in the file itself. In other words, if you move the file to some other hard drive or another computer, the artwork will NOT go with it. I think Apple did this to save hard disk space. The artwork from the iTunes Store is typically around 500 KB. There is only one copy of downloaded artwork for each album that has it.
If you put the artwork in the album yourself, the artwork is embedded in the ID3 tag -- at least for supported file types. As far as I know, these are AAC and MP3 files only -- but there may be more. Embedded artwork takes up more space on the hard drive, but is more portable to other media players.
If you don't mind taking up more room on your hard drive (i.e. you'd rather have portable artwork), I have a program that will embed downloaded artwork into the ID3 tag.

I'd like to see album covers in iTunes but don't want to waste the storage space on my iPod.

You can add your own artwork (for covers iTunes does not get) to coverflow wihtout embedding it into the ID3 tags.

Downloads dragged and dropped from Firefox download window into Outlook e-mail show as file location text.

I have a user who normally can drag files from Firefox's Download window into an e-mail in Outlook and it creates an attachment of that file in the e-mail. However, lately, the dragged .pdf or whatever file only shows up as a text file location like:
\\file:%Downloads%\randomfile.pdf
It's not a link either, it's just the text.
I've tried doing a repair of Outlook.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox 19.
I've tested dragging items from the desktop to the e-mail and it works fine.
I can't drag and drop from the Downloads window to the desktop.
I just wanted to add this user is using Windows XP Pro.

I can confirm that this is an issue with the newest release of Firefox. I just upgraded my Firefox, which was previously 18.02 to 19.0 and now I'm getting the same error. It's a bug.

1. From what I have seen, this error is usually caused by one of two things. The first is the Shared Variable software components not being installed, which is covered in this Knowledgebase. The other is due to a corruption of the ni-rt.ini file on the Real-Time controller. You can follow the steps layed out in this Knowledgebase, which gives three possible remedies. You could also try reinstalling the software (firmware) or create a PXI Uninstall disk from Measurement & Automation Explorer by selecting Tools»Remote Systems»RT PXI Disk Utilities»Create PXI Uninstall Disk. Boot the PXI Controller from the PXI Uninstall Disk, which will erase the ni-rt.ini and ph_exec.exe on the target. However, you will need to reconfigure the controller after doing this.
2. Due to the nature of the digital I/O on motion controllers, it is not surprising that you are seeing around a 1ms delay. It deals with the fact that it must update the motion controller with the new value on each control loop. This Knowledgebase gives a little more clarification regarding the 7350 specs.

Files downloaded turn into QuickTime files and not iTune Files!

Hi folks,
I am downloading some songs from mp3search.ru (very very cheap mp3 site) and they are downloaded as iTune files (which is what I require), however, when they download fully they become Quicktime files!
I now have to change them individually to be opened with iTunes but they remain QT files!!
How do I stop QuickTime from being the default and dictating itself as the main MP3 player?!

iTunes for Windows (but not iTunes for Mac) can import and convert unprotected WMA tracks. If the tracks are protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management) then it will not accept them.
One option would be to install iTunes on your PC, do the conversion, and then transfer the converted tracks from iTunes on your PC to iTunes on your Mac.

Why would you want to do this with java embeding? Why not just use the assign activity to create/concatenate the string and then write it to a file with the file adapter?
