Embedding flash into email

Hi guys... need some good advice here... I'm trying to send
an email with flash in the email. I have tried embeding the html
into the email > not worked > emailing the page not work!!!
is their any solutions to this problem.
Cheers
Flashley

I've been trying to learn the answer to this question, too. The best I've found (on another string) is to try "Pine" email software. Here was my unanswered question:
I'd like to use my Apple Mail (sending thru my .Mac account) to send photos (jpg pictures, typically 2-3 pics 50KB each) in the body of emails (body of messages), so that recipients like on Yahoo do not have to open jpg attachments. The best I've been able to do so far, following .Mac Email Help, and with my Mail in Rich Text, is drag & drop the picture(s) so they are in body of email when I look at the email using my .Mac account (and in my Outlook Express accounts), but they're only attachments (with a miniature picture showing) in my Yahoo account. Using a PC with Outlook Express I "Insert Picture" and can do what I want (pictures are not attachments but are in body of email) to both my .Mac email and to my Yahoo mail, but I'm trying to wean myself from Outlook Express. My recipients on PCs find jpg viewers to take too long to bother with, but with pictures right in the email, it's much quicker to see them clearly.
There's probably a way, isn't there?

  • Embedding images into emails?

    PC users I know can copy and paste JPEGs into emails so that they are not attachments and are open when recipients open the mail. I have not been able to figure out how to do that on my G4. When I use that method, the graphic appears as an attachment. Anyone know a way? Surely there is one...

  • Embedding Flash into a Flash page

    Hey all...my first post here.
    I've recently learned Flash and have had pretty good success figuring out challenges that come up...however I am stuck on one now and am looking for help.
    I am designing a site for a music project that I manage.  The band also uses another free site, Reverbnation, for promotions and such.  The site provides a mailing list function, and you can embed an already provided "widget" onto your HTML web page that will automatically add people to your e-mail list if they choose to sign up.
    The problem I am having is that the page the widget is going to be on is now all Flash.  I can't figure out how to get the widget into the Flash page.  The Flash page itself is really nothing elaborate.
    Here is the code for the widget that they provide:
    <img style="visibility:hidden;width:0px;height:0px;" border=0 width=0 height=0 src="http://counters.gigya.com/wildfire/IMP/CXNID=2000002.0NXC/bT*xJmx*PTEyNzQyMTEwMDU3NjUmcHQ9 MTI3NDIxMTQyMTQwNiZwPTI3MDgxJmQ9ZmFuX2NvbGxlY3Rvcl9maXJzdF9nZW4mZz*x/Jm89ZDlkZTU1NWQ2YWFlN DRiMDlhMzU4MDgxZDM1OTk2ZWUmb2Y9MA==.gif" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://cache.reverbnation.com/widgets/swf/11/fancollector.swf?page_object_id=artist_708835 &backgroundcolor=EEEEEE&font_color=000000&posted_by=artist_708835" height="100" width="434" /><br/><a href="http://www.reverbnation.com/gigfinder" onclick="javascript:window.location.href=&quot;http://www.reverbnation.com/c./a4/11/708835/Artist/708835/Artist/link"; return false;"><img alt="Land Gigs" border="0" height="19" src="http://cache.reverbnation.com/widgets/content/11/footer.png?1" width="434" /></a><br/><img style="visibility:hidden;width:0px;height:0px;" border=0 width=0 height=0 src="http://www.reverbnation.com/widgets/trk/11/artist_708835/artist_708835/t.gif"/><a href="http://www.quantcast.com/p-05---xoNhTXVc" target="_blank"><img src="http://pixel.quantserve.com/pixel/p-05---xoNhTXVc.gif" style="display: none" border="0" height="1" width="1" alt="Quantcast"/></a>
    Any ideas on how I would embed this into my Flash page to be a functioning widget?
    Thanks!

    your published swf will be embedded in an html file.  add your widget code to that html file.
    you can use html, styles, divs etc to position the swf and widget.
    or, if you want to incorporate that widget within your swf, you might be able to load
    http://cache.reverbnation.com/widgets/swf/11/fancollector.swf?page_object_id=art%20ist_708 835&backgroundcolor=EEEEEE&font_color=000000&posted_by=artist_708835
    and manage.

  • Embedded flash not behaving correctly

         I am having some problems with embedding flash into a PDF and I hope you can help. When I run the flash outside the PDF, all of the rollovers and cursor changes behave correctly. However, once I embed the flash into the pdf and launch it, when I rollover areas of interaction, the cursor doesn't behave like it should.
         Outside the PDF, when I rollover an area of interaction, the pointer changes to the hand. When it is embedded into a PDF, I hit the edge of the area of interaction and the cursor flashes to the hand and then back to the pointer.
         I know these aren't the correct terms but I am hoping that it is decipherable. I am far from a flash or PDF guru, but I have tried everything I can think of to get this to work. The flash presentation was created in adobe captivate 3.
         I have opened a case with Adobe support and I was on the phone with them for 2+ hours today with no resolution. I am hoping the collective knowledge of the forums and the internet can help! Thanks in advance!
    --jcbrig00

    I am also having a problem with this . It seems to be a bug because it is not only movie clips but buttons that don't show the hand cursor.
    My problem was with a simple flash test movie created in flash cs5 using actionscript 2
    If any one can solve this I would be really grateful

  • Embedded flash does not appear in Firefox

    I've embedded flash into a website, but only a white box appears. The embedded flash document appears in IE and Chrome.
    Here's my embed code:

    </div>
    </div></nowiki></pre>

    Firefox uses the object if there isn't a classid to specify an ActiveX control for IE.<br />
    You didn't specify such a classid (classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"), so there is actually no need for the embed in this case.<br />
    As jscher2000 posted above, an object tag only works in Firefox if there is a data attribute present (copy of the movie param) to specify the Flash file and a possible MIME type.
    <pre><nowiki><object style="width:420px;height:272px" data="http://static.issuu.com/webembed/viewers/style1/v2/IssuuReader.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" >

    If the flash file id published for player version 6 (or
    earlier) then
    you can embed it using the Flash Asset Xtra, probably in the
    same way as
    you have before. If it is a later version you will need to
    use the
    Flash player ActiveX control.

    Two Questions Re: Embedding Flash and Tables Shortcut
    1) I work on a Mac and use Dreamweaver 8. Often I like to
    embed Flash objects into a page and I do this by using
    Dreamweaver's INSERT > MEDIA > FLASH. However, the SWF file
    doesn't show up on the published web page and I’ve never had
    this issue using previous versions, so I’m not sure what to
    do? Here's what Dreamweaver generates when I use their INSERT
    feature:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase','
    http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,19,0','wid th','550','height','180','src','flash/BANNER.HOME','quality','high','pluginspage','http:// www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer','movie','flash/BANNER.HOME'
    ); //end AC code
    </script><noscript><object
    classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="

    pluginspage="
    http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"
    type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="550"
    height="180"></embed>
    It seems a bit weird that the SWF file is not showing
    considering Flash & Dreamweaver are the most compatible apps,
    no? I’m assuming if Dreamweaver is generating this code it
    should work, no?
    2) I’m getting an error when trying to use the Tables
    short cut COMMAND+ OPTION+T that reads...
    "While executing objectTag, the following JavaScript error(s)
    occurred:
    At line 26 of file “Macintosh
    HD:Applications:Macromedia Dreamweaver 8:
    Configuration:Objects:Common:Table.htm”:
    TypeError: cmdDOM.parentWindo.createTableStr is not a
    function"
    What’s strange is it was working fine last week and for
    the life of me I don’t know what could of happened to make
    this shortcut get corrupted?
    I’ve reinstalled the app multiple times and still I get
    the same error :-(
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance!

    It works. Most likely you have not uploaded the Scripts

  • Embedding Flash in HTML using Dreamweaver - stopped working

    Hi all, not really sure what's going on, but I've done this many times before and it's worked fine.
    I've previously embedding Flash videos I've created in Premiere and/or converted using other software.  I simply drag and drop the Flash file where I want it and then adjust layout using code/design etc and that's it, job done.  It's always played back fine.
    Now for some reason I've tried doing it again this morning and can't figure it out.  When I preview the file it doesn't even show the video, but instead displays all the icons for the controls at once in a grid where the video is meant to be.  I've tried in IE, Firefox and Chrome, updated drivers, windows, Adobe, Flash etc all to no avail.
    I've even tried doing it in a blank HTML page in case some of the template I might have been using was interfering for some strange reason; still no luck.  What's even stranger is that a site I created last year is also now not displaying Flash (FLV) content locally, but is working fine on the server.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    (CS5 Dw:V11 build 4993, Win7 64bit SP1)
    I've pasted the code from the blank HTML page.  It's probably something really simple that I've not noticed:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

    </script>
    </body>
    </html>

    Im' having a VERY similar problem with a few estra 'happy' moments. I have a blog (WP). On this simple and VERY basic blog (with almost NO plug ins) I have attempted to embed FLV videos with CS$ Dreamweaver code.
    (This code is different in CS$ than it was in earlier versions as it now calls to the FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf as the player and uses Flashvars to pass the value of the FLV. PReviously, it was four simple lines of code that pointed directly to the SWF)
    Here was my process - I encoded the files with AE and Media Encoder to end up with Transparent FLV's. These, I then setup in Dreamweaver so I could copy the embed code. On my first attempt, it worked PERFECTLY. I was testing one particular flv, got the code and inserted it into the blog page with some special CSS to position it.
    The movie played perfectly.
    Then things got weird.
    I was excited I had a solution, so I went to put another video on another page. No luck. The second page was playing the video from the first page. As if I had copied the same code, but I hadn't. I copied code that was 'pointing' to the new file, but for whatever reason, the new file would not play.
    I did EVERYTHING. I deleted all the pages and strted fresh. I deleted the FLV's and reuploaded them. I created different folders and put each flv in it and created index.html files for each (assuming possibly there was a hardcoded element in the FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf). I copied and pasted back and forth for nearly 6 hours.
    Nothing. Each time I would copy and paste code into a blog page, it would simply pull the original video.
    THEN....things got worse.
    I pulled one video off of the server, and now NONE work. I can't get ANY videos to play. Worse, I still have the 'express install' link showing.
    Ok, so here is what I am trying to figure out;
    Does the NEW DW CS4 code somehow have control over the file that is called? Further, HOW can I get more than one FLV to play across a whole blog site.
    Here is a link to one of the pages that HAS code but is calling NOTHING. And please know that I have left copies of the necessary files ALL over the server. So they are in the root, in the 'files' folder, in the talent folder and everywhere.
    Is there a conflict flash hits when there are multiple FLV's being called? Is there a way to do this? Please help....
    Thank you

  • CSS Help! Inserting flash into a div has caused layout change

    Hi,
    I am trying to insert flash into a div. I'm new to CSS so I
    think I must be doing something wrong. As soon as I insert the

    out of my "main" div. I've now taken the flash.swf out and inserted
    an image again, but it's still wrong. It previews fine in the

  • Exchange 2010 embedded images in email problem

    We have Exchange 2010 and the limit on our global settings and various send/receive connectors is 30720 KB everywhere for Max receive size & max send size.  Currently, even if the message size is well below the KB limit, if there are enough images
    embedded in the message the email is not delivered successfully.
    For example, if there are 222 small attachments embedded in an email with the email message TotalBytes = 657358 (~658 KB), the email does not deliver and this is the error that is logged in Exchange:
    554-5.3.4 Content conversion limit(s) exceeded 554 5.3.4 STOREDRV.Deliver.Exception:ConversionFailedException; Failed to process message due to a permanent exception with message The content conversion limit has been exceeded. ConversionFailedException: The
    content conversion limit has been exceeded. [Stage: CreateReplay]
    This appears to be a bug with the number of images and the fact that they are embedded into the message.  Is there a fix for this issue?  Or is there a setting in Exchange I can adjust to allow these messages to be delivered successfully?
    Thanks,
    Elizabeth

    Hi Rich,
    I configured tracing as suggested, and this is what I got:
    This message was not processed because it contains a large number of MIME bodies.

    Thanks to all!  As previously mentioned, the ConversionLimits cannot be adjusted, so a work-around will be necessary for our scenario.

  • Why can't I open/see PDF files that are embedded in an email or sent through the internet?

    I can read/see PDF files that are attached to an email, but I can't see/read them if they are embedded in an email or sent through the internet.

    I have a similar problem. I can open, read, and save PDF files, but I can't view my online bank statement on my Mac. The statement opens automatically if I use a PC, but on my Mac the page says I need Adobe Reader to view my statement. I already have the latest version of Adobe Reader. The problem seems to be that that the plugin only goes to the Libray. It doesn't get installed into Safari or into FireFox either.

  • Embedding Flash?

    Ive gone thru the forums and it seems that embedding a flash swf movie into a container is not possible, or is it?
    i guess the only alternative i have it to detect whether or not the client has a browser and launch it
    is this the best way? id prefer embedding it into a JPanel or something..but if its impossible, please confirm it.
    thanks

    How do I correct this problem if Im added the coding into the html widget?
    Open the Activity Window in Safari (Command -Option-A) to see where the browser is looking for the files.
    Then check and edit the files to correct the problem.

  • Can HTML affect embeded FLASH

    I am trying to find out if there is any way to have the HTML
    send informaion to the embedded FLASH file. I need to change 2
    peices of information on the FLASH file when it loads on the page
    (based on the page it comes up on.) Is there a way to have the HTML
    send a message to FLASH that says use "pic_2.jpg" or a way for
    Flash to look into the HTML to find its directive. Better yet, is
    there a way to let flash know what file it is within, and search
    the XML file based on the parameter of location? Please
    help.

    Hi adjourney,
    External images should work in the same way (via flashvars).
    You can do
    this in a two step process as you suggested, or directly via
    the
    embedding variables. I'll assume you want the simpler of the
    two so you
    would do something like this:
    The HTML embedding code would look like this:
    <object
    classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000"
    codebase="
    http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,0,0"
    width="354" height="63" id="myFlashThing" align="middle">
    <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
    <param name="flashvars" value="imageFile=myImage.jpg"
    />
    <param name="movie" value="flashFile.swf" /><param
    name="quality"
    value="high" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#cccccc"
    /> <embed
    src="flashFile.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#cccccc"
    width="354"
    height="63" name="forumLogo" align="middle"
    allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="false"
    flashvars="imageFile=myImage.jpg"
    type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
    pluginspage="
    http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"
    />
    Notice that you need to include the file name two...once as a
    "param"
    and then again in the "embed" tag. This is done to compensate
    for
    differences between FireFox/Mozilla browsers and
    InternetExplorer-style
    browsers.
    In Flash, getting the image file name couldn't be easier. In
    ActionScript 2.0, this is simply available as:
    _level0.imageFile
    In ActionScript 3.0, this is available as:
    this.loaderInfo.parameters.imageFile from the class that's
    associated
    with the main movie clip (the Document class).
    Now you simply take this value and use a loadMovie or Loader
    instance to
    get your image.
    If you wanted to specify an XML file and then some identified
    within it,
    the flashvar would look something like this:
    xmlFile=data.xml&offset=5
    And this would be received as two separate values in Flash:
    _level0.xmlFile and _level0.offset (and the associated ones
    for AS 3).
    Of course this is a bit of overkill...if you're specifying a
    file and
    then hardcoding a link within that file...you might as well
    specify the
    file right off the top. But I guess that's up to you.
    Good luck,
    Patrick

  • Embedded Flash in PHP - Need help!

    Hello everyone!
    We're having problems embedding Flash-files into our .php-files, so I thought the best place to ask for help would be the official Flash-forums :-) First of all, I'll let you know what exactly we're doing....
    We have a few flash-files which you should only be allowed to view once you're logged in and authenticated to our "portal". You can only view those files over some sort of JavaScript-Popup-Flashplayer thing (personally not too much into JS). The JS-Player requires the flash-files to be available over an exisiting URL (such as http://page.domain/flash/file.swf) - And this is where the whole problem begins...
    After hours of research and conversing with my collegues and the project-management, we decided to use the following technique to still keep those URLs for the JS-Player while preventing the user from simply accessing our "top secret flash movies" by typing in the URL in their browser...
    We move the Flash-folder to a location outside of our document root -> Flash-files can't be randomly accessed or downloaded via the URL.
    We use an Apache-plugin called "mod_rewrite" to rewrite/redirect URLs that look similar to http://page.domain/flash/*.swf to a PHP-file -> We can work with REQUEST_URI to see which flash-file the user wanted to view. Now, inside that PHP file we check wether the user is authenticated or not and either embed the flash-file into the PHP-file or redirect him to an error-page. In theory, the user could still view the flash-file over the URL (without even noticing PHP, since the URL stays http://page.domain/flash/file.swf, hence a perfect fake, no? ;-) ) and everything actually works exactly the way we wanted..........IN FIREFOX!
    Now we went live with our application and we had to realise that one of the only things we haven't tested in other browsers (this being one of them) don't work the way we want and instead of viewing/playing the film, we get to see a white window in the JS-Player, while it's trying to download a file called "filename_swf" (underscore instead of dot?) when you access the movie over the URL (http://page.domain/flash/file.swf).
    How we embed Flash into PHP:
    Headers + outputting the flash-files content....
    header('Content-Type: application/x-shockwave-flash');
    header('Expires: Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 GMT, -1');
    header('Cache-Control: no-cache, no-store, must-revalidate');
    header('Pragma: no-cache');
    echo file_get_contents($request);
    As I said, this works just fine in Firefox, however we're sure most of our users will be using IE, in which it doesn't work at all. I personally believe we're missing some sort of header or we have to set a different header depending on the browser...so I thought the best place to ask about Flash Headers would be the actual flash forums. Maybe I'm even totally wrong and missing out something crucial and someone can point me in the right direction...
    Thanks!

    Thank you for your help.

    It's now showing. Do I have to reference it on the code?
