Embedding FLV or MPEG video!!???

I have the new Flash CC version. I noticed I don't have a 2014 behind it, nor do I have an option to get a 2014 version. That's all fine and dandy. Great.
I'm having problems embedding flash. When I convert an MPG to a FLV, as the Adobe Encoder CC software suggests (CC 2014 says it won't do this any longer because the development team feels it must spend it's time more wisely on MPEG to waste time on this any more), and try to embed into Flash, I get a message that it didn't work and I need to actually use a product called AMD. Does anyone know if this sounds right? And if Encoder CC doesn't work and I do need the third-party product AMD, why is it that Adobe no longer provides a workable solution?

ame is adobe media encoder which your already using.   among other things, amd is a graphic card maker.
if you're seeing a prompt to update your amd drivers, do so.  otherwise, can you attach a screenshot showing that amd recommendation?

  • Embedding FLV Video Into PDF Files

I have been testing out embedding FLV files into PDF's to simplify presentations (no need for Powerpoint, DVD player, DVD player software, etc..).  It is a bit slow when a big video file will load, but I think it is worth it for the simplified presentation method.
My problem is this, whenever I embed an FLV file into a PDF, it seems to degrade the quality down a notch or two.  I am not concerned about file size since these will always be played locally from a hard drive or CD so I created the embedded FLV file to be high quality and very crisp (720 x 486, ~2200kbs bit rate).  However, no matter how good a file I embed, after it becomes embedded it always looks worse.  At this point, it has mainly been trial and error, but the original quality does not seem to matter as to how it will look in the PDF.
Does Acrobat Pro re-encode the video no matter if it is FLV or not?  And is there anyway to change the settings so it does not alter the existing quality?
    Thank you.

Are you inserting a screen capture FLV of the whole screen.  I use camtasia Studio to capture my desktop in video... and if the playback is NOT at the same size as the original...then it can look blurry.

  • On export, embedded flv video restart issue

After exporting my project (either as SWF or MOV), when I play the exported file, the flv video I have embedded in the timeline starts over whenever a motion tween begins in a separate layer. Why might this be happening? I'm using CS6.

Ah, figured it out. Totally my fault- in playback within flash, the video freezes on its final frame, which was the effect I intended, but on export embedded flvs apparently repeat, so I just took a screen shot of the final frame and put that in for the duration I wanted the frame to stay frozen. Your suggestion actually led me to this realization, thank you.

  • Help with video in Flex - Alternative to embedding .flv?

I'm building a Flex application that needs to play a video, which I have in .flv format.  I tried the mx:VideoDisplay component, and it was great, but, unfortunately, I need to be able to package the entire application into a single file, and Flex doesn't support embedding .flv files.  Next I tried converting the .flv to a .swf, embedding that, then using mx:SWFLoader to display it.  This worked, except that I can no longer control the video playback; the video just keeps endlessly looping.  I need to be able to stop the video, and ideally I would like access to something like the complete event from mx:VideoDisplay, so that I can hide the video when it has reached the end.
I have tried a couple of solutions based around the idea that the content of the .swf can be treated as a MovieClip, but none of these worked for me.  Any ideas?

  • When I publish as an .mp4, the embedded .flv videos clip at the end

I am using Captivate 6.0.1.240. I have .flv videos that were encoded using Adobe Media Encoder from a .mov file. The videos are embedded on the slide, as multi-slide synchronized video, but only distributed across one slide (as strange as this might seem, it is what was recommended to me because using Event Video resulted in choppy video).
Now, the videos clip off a second or so before the end of the video. There are no transitions on the video slide or on the slide following it. I have tried extending the length of the slide beyond the length of the video, to no avail.
What am I missing? How do I get the embedded .flv videos to play fully?

    Hi there,
As you told you have checked that there is no transition on the Slide on which you have the video.
Have you checked the transition effect on that video, whether Fade out only or fade in and fade out is selected. Select that multi slide video and click on the properties panel and check the transition on it.
Also, if this video is on the last slide, check the fade in and fade out on the project. (edit > Preferences > Project > start and end)
    Thanks.

  • Converting .flv in MPEG Streamclip - video 'fuzzy'...

Hello - I converted my flv files in MPEG Streamclip, to DV; Qtime; AVI -- also downloaded Perian, so that I could use downloaded w/videos from YouTube, etc... I then imported them into Final Cut, however, I noticed the video quality isn't as good, and a bit pixilated/fuzzy. Is there a way to make the video more crisp/clear, when converting flv in MPEG Streamclip? Thanks!

For flash compression i would recommend you use On2 VP6 codec, instead of the sorrenson spark codec. As far as making them clearer, unfortunately you get what you put in. So taking a FLV which is a delivery format and converting it to a video format you are not going to get any better quality then the original clips.
For a conversion setting in mpeg streamclip, i recommend Apple DV/DVCPRO-NTSC, Quality 100%, Sound Uncompressed.

  • Need help embedding FLV files  on a page

I am working in apex 4.2 and am having trouble embedding a VLC player in an apex page. So far, I have been able to embed and play wmv or mpeg videos in apex. I am primarily testing in IE. Will worry about other browsers later (Sofari, Mozilla, etc).
I have downloaded and installed a vlc player. The source code is as follows:
    <embed src="f?p=&APP_ID.:&APP_PAGE_ID.:&APP_SESSION.:APPLICATION_PROCESS=media:::GP_MEDIA_ID:&P37_MEDIA_ID."
    autostart = "true" hidden="false" width="800" height="500" style="border-style:solid;" type="application/x-vlc-plugin"
    pluginspage="http://www.videolan.org" version="VideoLan.VLCPlugin.2" </embed>
However, when I go to the page, it still shows a broken link. I am not sure what is missing or where the problem lies. My only other "hunch" is that I haven't added or mapped out a mime-type for video/x-flv to one of the config files on my server. Could this be the problem??? Either way, I'm still stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Update:
I removed the "iTunes Library" file from Home>>Music>>iTunes, which allowed me to get back into iTunes, but I don't know how to connect to the files without it locking up again in the event that the mount to her share on my iMac becomes unmounted again.

  • Embeded flv music in swf?

A client wants a music player that has embedded music, rather
than streaming from a separate mp3 file. I explained the file would
be much faster loading if we could stream it, but he said something
about how that wouldn't work with his .net framework. He said that
the last flash guy that he worked with was able to do this for him.
I've already converted the audio into an flv. and I've gotten
the song down to about 1.9 mb. which will have to do.
Does anybody know how I would go about accomplishing this? I
    only know how to stream.

    jonnyfogel,
    >A client wants a music player that has embedded music,

Heh, the customer is always right. ;)
    > I explained the file would be much faster loading if we
    > could stream it, but he said something about how that
    > wouldn't work with his .net framework.
That just doesn't make sense, honestly. As long as his web
    server knows
what an MP3 is, and is allowed to serve it up when requested,
    an external
audio file is definitely the better way to go.
    > I've already converted the audio into an flv. and I've
    gotten
    > the song down to about 1.9 mb. which will have to do.
Not sure why the audio needs to be converted to an FLV
    first. As a
rule, FLV is a video format (though strictly speaking, you
    could have a
videoless video file). I would export the audio as an MP3
    file, or some
other strictly audio format (e.g., WAV or AIFF), then import
    that into the
Library. Right-click your audio Library asset and choose
    Properties to see
what your various compression settings are.
For example, even if the original file is greater than
    1.9MB, you can
adjust the compression settings inside Flash to experiment
    until you hit the
"sweet spot" balance between fidelity and file size. You can
    never get
better fidelity than what the original file has, so if your
    Library asset is
already compressed, you can only bump it down in quality.
    Food for thought.
With your settings configured (you'll see a Test button in
    the Audio
Properties dialog), insert a keyframe in the main timeline
    where the audio
should start. Click inside that keyframe and use the Property
    inspector to
select your audio asset from the Library. Using this
    approach, you have
effectively two choices: Event sound or Stream sound. Event
    sounds load
into memory fully before they start to play. This means the
    playhead can be
paused (stop() action) and the audio will keep playing until
    you stop it.
Stream means the only that *frame*'s worth of audio loads, so
    you could
potentially need *tons* of additional frames in that timeline
    in order for
the full audio to be heard. There are pros and cons to
    everything, and the
pro to Stream means you can potentially start hearing the
    audio before the
SWF fully loads. The con, as I mentioned, is that you have to
    add enough
frames to hear the audio play out.

  • Converting swf to flv with flash video encoder

    Hi...
I have a couple of questions please... I have managed to put some captions on a video file and would now need to get this video back into flv format to put it online;..I tried with the cs3 video encoder but it wouldn't let me.... So my questions are:
    1. Is it actually possible to convert my swf file into flv with cs3 video encoder ...which would be logical as it is a flash file...
    2. What is the best option I Have to convert my swf file with captions without losing the captions...
Many thans for any clear help as I am not a code guru....
    Regards
    Flav

    Hi Vlaf (Flav),
the main thing for converting a flash swf into a flv is to make sure that the timeline is not embeded inside a moveclip (meaning that the timeline of the movie is on the MAIN timeline....and not nested somewhere else.
if this is right, then it should export correctly. If it still fails with the Encoder....try an alterative encoder caller "Super"(its free)...and does a great job!
unless specified by your client or target advert host, always try to use a minimum of 30 frames per second and you should be good to go.

  • How to tween embedded flv file

Hello.  I am actually working in Flash cs5.5, but I didn't know where else to post this as this is not really based on Actionscript.
I've imported 4 flv video files into my main file.  What'd I'd like is for there to be a video in each corner and have each one enlarge to fill the screen for a moment and then shrink back up and go back into its original corner.  I can't put a keyframe into an embedded flv file, though.  Anyone know how to do this?  Let me know if I need to explain this more.

Awesome!!  Thank you!  The flv playback component didn't work b/c when I put a keyframe in there to make the size larger, it just started the movie back from the beginning.
So then I did the flv inside a movieclip action that you suggested, and it works perfectly!  Thank you very much.

  • EXE embeds FLV files

Hello, I am making an exe file that has 6 FLV files called. When I make a project like this in Director, it
calls to the FLVS or other video files, rather than EMBEDDING them and bloating the file.
I don't see any option in captivate to make exe files "call" the videos instead of making one big
    file.
Does anyone know a setting to change this? I really enjoy using captivate to make mini
presentations for CD, and they would run a lot better if it did not embed the FLV files.
    Thanks,
    Stephanie

    Hi there
I think there were some issues earlier that seem to have resolved themselves at this point. For a while, I couldn't get to anything Adobe related!
I can't imagine how much bandwidth and traffic their sites generate. It has to be huge!
I'm not trying to be an Adobe apologist, but I stand constantly amazed at how well it seems to work, given the scope!
    Cheers... Rick

  • Embedded flv smoothing

any way to enable a more smooth look for embedded flv in a swf? when i scale these flv's down they look a little bit pixelated. thanks!

Sorry to repeat me, but Flash is simply not up to the task you have in mind.
1.Long (>30 secs) Timelines combined with videos/Animations will most definitively get out of synch.
2.Precompressed videos will look even worse than the original (which you already learned)
3.You are in a constant danger of Flash crashing the longer your timeline gets and the more videos you embed, at this point simply scrubbing the timeline poses a high risk of getting flash to crash and destroying your complete work.
Believe me when I say you would be better advised to import all these videos and Audiotracks into after effects/premiere/Premiere Elements and then export it for youtube purposes.
If you absolutely must use Flash:
Set a ll the video instances bitmapSmoothing property to true and see if that improves the quality.
so if video1 starts on frame 1 and video2 starts on frame 155
insert the following Lines of Code at keyframes 1/155
    video1.bitmapSmoothing = true;
    video2.bitmapSmoothing = true;
//and so on for all videoinstances

  • How can I publish a project so that the link to embedded flv is not lost?

When publishing an Adobe Captivate 3 project, the embedded flv file does not play.
How can I publish a project so that the link to embedded flv is not lost?

I am not really sure, if I understand you right. But try this:
Don’t place a picture, but draw a box and use the "Fill" command to put a picture into it.
(Don’t click onto the color swatch, but onto the blue link "Fill".)
In this case responsivness should work.

    HI,
If iChat is Open and your think Accounts/Screen Names are logged in then go to the Window Menu
This should list the accounts that are logged in with various keystrokes ( Apple/CMD ( or ⌘) and a Number) shown next to them.
Using these should get the Buddy list "back".
It is possible to Hide the Buddy list and then Quit iChat.
iChat will then "remember" where the windows were eve if this was Hidden.
Can you confirm that after reinstalling or restoring from Time Machine with possibly an Earlier Version you have Downloaded the COMBO version of OS X 10.6.8 and "run the COMBO" (Installed it - again) to update iChat ?
It is possible the text chat Window is also Hidden on double clicking a Buddy.
The easiest way for this to happen is to use a second Display and drag some windows to the second Display.
iChat "remembers" where you last had Outgoing Chats so Audio and Video windows will be where you left them as will Text Chats.
Incoming Chat Invites are normally in set places unless there is a chat already open to that Buddy.
With  Windowing issue like this is sometimes pays to delete com.apple.ichat.plist itself  (on it's own) and restart iChat  (this plist holds the window positions amongst other things)
