Embeding video in WAP site with Quicktime but how to meaure hits on it

Hey All,
I embedded the quicktime video object in WAP site but I want o know how can I measure hits or downloads on this video.Can i call java script and it does the necessary, is somebody dealt with such thing previously please help or suggest me the way

I don't know what WAP is... Wireless Application Protocol or how to use it.
You might be able to use javascript to count how many time the video page is accessed. But not necessarily how many times the video has be played.
On my server I can access a control panel that tells me how many time a page has be accessed. It will all so tell me how many times a video has be loaded and played.
Let's see if anyone here knows about Wireless Application Protocol and how to use it and maybe how to do what you need...

How do you burn a video file not compatible with quicktime?

Hello all,
I am very new at this so I apologize if the solution is very simple - i just can't seem to work this iDVD thing...
I've searched through the forums and can't seem to find exactly what I need, please point me in the right direction if a solution has already been posted elsewhere.
Okay, so my problem is trying to burn movies to DVD. I don't actually have to use iDVD, but it's the only solution i've come up with. My problem is when I add a movie file (lets say, something that will ONLY OPEN with VLC), and press preview, no movie files show up... but when i put in a video file that will play with quicktime, the preview works fine.
So i suspect the preview wont play because the file is not compatible with quicktime.
have any of you tried this? All i want is to be able to play a downloaded movie on the dvd player downstairs

iDvd is not a general burn utility. However, there's a very good chance (whatever that file is) that Toast will burn it to Dvd-R. And if not (which is unlikely) then do as suggested already and use Mpegstream Clip. It's 100% free! However Mpeg 2 playback component may run you a few bucks (if needed).
Or the alternative is to invest hundreds of dollars in Apple software and use apps like FCP and DVDSP (or FCS) along with QT Pro. Nine times out of ten this combination tends to work well ... but it ain't cheap (not to mention a rather steep learning curve).

How do I view embedded videos on whitelisted sites?

Hello:
Concerning parental control settings, the whitelisted sites work perfectly, except for the fact that embedded videos (usually from Youtube) do not play.
How do I allow these embedded videos to play without having to whitelist the entire Youtube site?

First, why are you wanting to restrict access?
The problem is that the embedded video needs to connect to *.youtube.com to work
(the '*' is a wildcard for a subdomain of youtube)
So you can't block the youtube domain if you want to allow embedded video...

I use to be able to edit with Quicktime but not it's gone!!

My friend bought me Final Cut Pro 5 studio, so we installed it then next thing you know my Quicktime no longer had the editing options. It just said I need to update quicktime in order to install Final Cut, so I updated it, then boom no more Quicktime Pro. how can that be?? I got Quicktime Pro at the Apple store in Hawaii.

Do a search fia either Spotlight
or via command-f for "Quicktime".
Look for the blue "Q" icon,
these will be the Quicktime Players.
Count how many you have, you should have only 1.
if you have more than one, select each in the Finder
window, and perform a command-i.
This will give you the "Get Info" screen on each.
The one that says "Quicktime version 7.0x" or HIGHER
you want to keep, anything with a lower number
you want to trash.
Also, check under your System Preferences Panel
for Quicktime, double click to open,
and click on the Register tab.
Make sure your Pro info is listed there,
in the "Registered to" and "Registeration Code"

What is really irritating is that Apple give a big hurray about what they have added as "new" in Pages 5 (most of it pretty useless) without telling you of the myriad things they have deleted. If they had shown the list your gave the link to, I doubt may regular users would risked going to Mavericks with its auto upgrade. My partner got the message in time and is sticking with the earlier operating systems and Pages on Mac and iPad. Lucky girl.
I have found a way to use my iPad to add chapters written while on the move to reports on my iMac Pages 4.3. If I write it on the new Pages on the iMac (don't seem to be able to revert there), the send the report as an email in WORD format (not Pages) and download it in the Text Editor, then cut and paste into the story on the iMac. Hardly elegant but it works.

Try clearing the Cache in Firefox.
Tools-> Clear Recent History -> [v] Cache
or
Tools->Options->Advanced->Network -> Offline storage -> [Clear Now]
Youtube may have made some changes recently. Clear the Youtube cookie and refresh page if above does not do it.

I have a Microsoft LifeCam VX-5000 WebCam and an image shows up in FaceTime. When I go to record a video to Youtube or with Quicktime, I am seeing no picture but, my web cam light is on.

I'm not sure if Facetime actually works, but at least I'm getting a picture when I open it up.

I'm running 10.6.8 on Mac and Firefox 28. Most embedded videos on random sites and all on Upworthy and Youtube show as a black box. I've deleted cookies and

I've deleted cache and cookies. I've seen all the real player threads (isn't that Windows, anyway?) and they didn't help.
I'm running the most updated java and quicktime I can. I ran FIrefox in safe mode. I reset it and added back quick time, silverlight, java, shockwave, flipformac, and adblock plus. No difference with them disabled.
Is this because I'm on a 32 bit processor? I can use chrome for some sites to see videos. Safari is a disaster, don't even get me started. I'm trying to hang on until I upgrade but find I can see hardly any videos anymore. I love firefox and want to keep using it. Thanks!

There have been issues reported with the 13.0.0.182 version of the Flash plugin crashing on some older Mac computers due to the compiler generating incompatible code.
The only way to recover is to uninstall the Flash 13 version and revert to an older Flash version and wait for Adobe to release an update that addresses this issue.

Playing video 5.1 (ac3) with Quicktime?

Please, how can I play video with 5.1 audio (ac3) in Front Row or Quicktime? Every time, I am trying it, I got just horrible noise, undecoded sound. I have usb sound card M-Audio sonica theatre + Perian 1.1.1 + (Quicktime Pro). I don't know why, but vlc can play video even with 5.1 audio. Quicktime just stereo.
A possible solution could be replacing Quicktime with vlc (in Front Row) but I can't suppose anyone from Apple will allow this ...
So should I want for new fix of Quicktime or can I do something myself?

I never did try it myself. But, as far as I know, the QuickTime Player application requires specific hardware to output multi-channel audio. The m-audio Sonica devices do not fulfill QuickTime's requirements.

WHY CAN'T I LOGIN TO MANY WEB SITE WITH FIREFOX BUT CAN WITH INTERNET EXLORER 8 AND GOOGLE CHROME

I just installed firefox 3.6.8 on a new computer, it worked fine for a few days but now I cannot login to several sites that require usernames & passwords. (citezens bank online, (chase freedom credit cards online) medco mail order prescripions online. etc. Some of the sites say that I must have java script enabled, but if I go to firefox tools/options/content it shows java script enabled. I can login fine with internet explorer 8 and google chrome. I have firefox 3.6.8 on my old computer that has dial up internet access and it works fine. On the citizens bank web page the words "login" appear in a box, but when I click on it nothing happens & no boxes for usename or password show up. on the medco login page no lotin related words appear. They do with IE8 & google chrome. On chase freedom the login boxes are there but when I enter my password, after a few seconds the password disappears & nothing happens. The other browsers work fine . I believe that on one of the sites there is a message about "scripting being necessary" I cannot find any info about scripting it I do a search for it.

How do I remove old web site when publishing new site with same URL in iweb? Hit replace when publishing new iweb site (so we could have control over changes) but new site name is attached to old via a / after our www address we want to keep.

I hit the replace when publishing the new iweb site (so we could have control over changes - last one was not an apple based site) but new site name is attached to old via a forward slash and underscore after our www address. Makes it very messy with a very long web address. Original address now followed by iweb site name followed by name of first page? Went for iweb as not that computer literate - all going so well?! Well yes of course, if you try and publish through iWeb there won't be an option to publish without your site folder which is exactly why I told you to download Cyberduck and use Cyberduck to upload your site to your server having published your site from iWeb to a local folder. That is what you need to do if you don't want your site name to be included in yoru url.
It would have been easier also if you had used Cyberduck initially to connect to your server and delete your old site yourself - at least that way you would have deleted the correct files rather than relying on your hosting service to do it and doing it incorrectly.
Download Cyberduck and then select the publish to a local folder option from iWeb and then use Cyberduck to upload your site to your server, but rather than uploading the whole site folder and separate index file, upload ONLY the contents of your site folder and then your url will be http://www.domain.com/page_name.html.
It really isn't rocket science!

I cannot view any videos on youtube or embedded videos on other sites..

I have upgraded to Firefox 13.0 and double checked all of my plug-ins and addons too. I just went through upgrading everything. I go to the websites to make sure they are working by playing a trailer or a video and they seem to be functioning on that site. When I go to Youtube though and push play it tells me "An error has occurred. Please try again later." I have even tried to uncheck the "Enable hardware acceleration" box too. Nothing seems to be working. Even going back to an earlier version of Firefox does not work or starting in Safe Mode. I can watch videos in IE though just fine, just not in Firefox.

I also updated my Shockwave Flash too but today I was finally able to fix my problem by using the information I found on here:
